I have been coming to this spot for years. I was there on the first day Brooklyn Whiskers opened and I was just there today. Admittedly, I have not been since it reopened as Whisktank. Vegan food is highly competitive in this area and I had started cooking on my own mostly a year or two ago.
Not coming here was a waste of my time! This food is incredible. I had a short stack of pancakes (3) with candied pecans and berry composite, hash browns on the side (they come with scallions). Not only was it one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had it was incredible affordable! The pancakes were $7 and the hash browns were about $5. My entire order was: short stack with toppings, hash browns, cinnamon roll and a pesto sandwich. It came to $29. Talk about destroying stereotypes that vegan food is expensive!
The staff was incredibly friendly and even though I was in there with a mask on to just pay and go the gentleman was incredibly nice and he and his chef were talkative. It is so uplifting to come to a spot during this time and see two people making amazing food at an amazing price being amazing people.
Whisktank made my first Father’s Day an amazing one - and it’s only 10:42 a.m.!
