Whiskyplaza & Altstadt Restaurant am Fleet

Ok, there are a lot of wonderful restaurants in Hamburg. In fact there a lot of great restaurants all Over the world. However, every few years one is lucky enough to find a magnificent place that you cannot stop going back to. Whisky plaza is anchored in an impressive collection of whiskeys that cover the long wall. It is not just the selection but the rarity of some bottles they have added to the masterful skill Of their bartenders and staff that makes the place magical. The journey only starts with the drinks. The chef brings out a menu that is nothing short of magical. Every bite is deep and layered. A feast to all senses. After our diner yesterday, we had to swing by for a late night drink today (and yes, they are open till 1 am). Tomorrow, we are inviting family over to celebrate the new bride in the family. It was such a treat to find the place. Vorina only made it the more special. Thank you.

Today was My first time trying the whiskey tasting here. It was fun and a informative evening and exciting to learn more about Swedish whiskey with Lars. All whiskey lovers in Hamburg highly recommend from my side. Also great selection of drinks to choose from their menu.

I visited Whiskyplaza Bar early in the afternoon to explore their whisky selection, which was truly magnificent. The bar boasts more than a thousand different whiskeys, all organized beautifully. It was one of the most impressive selections I’ve ever seen in a bar. The barlady was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and eager to help, guiding me through a few different drams. I also tried some dishes from their lunch menu, including the asparagus with sirloin steak and the cured salmon on a waffle. While the food was good, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a lunch spot. However, it’s an outstanding destination for whiskey enthusiasts and whiskey tastings.

The vibe, cocktail selection, food, & service was fantastic. It is a bit expensive if you’re looking to eat as well, but the food is totally worth it. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing!! The food was absolutely superb. A good wine selection but the wall of whisky is out of this world. Great ambience & great service round out a superb evening

Hands down the best whisky bar in thr world. Not sure why it only got a 4.4 rating here, but this bar has everything a whisky lover would look for: Drinks: - Over 1000 whisky available for selection - some of them are exclusive bottling only for his bar. - Single malt based cocktails. - All whisky tasting goes with sea salt dark chocolates and water. - Free popcorns with powders of paprika, black pepper and cumin - these pair extremely well with the smoky whisky. Food: All dishes that they have on the menu pair extremely well with whisky too, in particular: - whisky rhubarb cake has a fresh and unique taste. - the coffee / espresso based dessert is one of the best desserts I have ever tried. Service: - the staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable, speaks very good English explaining everything in detail Environment: - it is a quiet bar with background music at the right volume (not too loud) and the seats are very comfortable I only had 2 days in Hamburg and am grateful to have spent an evening there. It is one of those can't miss restaurants / bars and I will definitely be back whenever I visit Hamburg in the future!

From the moment we walked in, we loved the music, the ambience, the service! Thanks to Chantal (apologies if I am spelling it wrong) who was efficient, attentive and delivered everything with a smile and helped with our drink choices. The dish we chose was roast beef, hassleback potatoes, red cabbage, celeriac puree, thin slices of mushrooms, radish and more - which was a beautiful combination. Thoroughly enjoyed by myself and my husband. Thank you for a great experience x

They delayed my order, so I repeated it to another staff member. The waiter asked if everything was okay. I said, “I’ve ordered twice, but it still hasn’t arrived. Should I place the order for a third time?” He replied, “I’m taking care of it, sorry.” They bring two glass of wine at the same time. Then he said, “It’s Friday, we’re busy. You told different staff members, I wasn’t aware,” and walked away while I was still speaking. He didn’t come back to our table again. I have to pay both of them, made underpressure. The drinks and the venue are very nice, but they definitely need training when it comes to service.
