I thought the food was good! Great southern atmosphere :) we enjoyed the frozen John D, also known as a frozen Arnold Palmer with bourbon. It was delicious! Enjoyed some chicken ‘n’ waffles, and their biscuits! Great company, great food, it’s a good spot to catch up and relax :)

Came here a few weeks ago. This place did not disappoint! I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with Eggs and a biscuit. All good! The eggs were super fluffy and tasteful. The Chicken Fried Steak was very good. The ambiance was lively and full of energy. Plenty of seating room. Also, the bar was nice. Ordered cocktails which were also good. Our waitress was on top of it! If you're in Southlake, make this a place to stop and eat!

I went here with my dad while I was visiting my parents and will absolutely go here again the next time I'm in Texas. The food was delicious and it is a very cute place to sit down and eat. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I got the chicken sandwich and was one of the best I've had! Can't wait to try another item on their menu.

Ive been here a few times and each time has been great. We did have a little mix up with seating and having our food just served (even though I had made a reservation), but all was ok! Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming as well as the manager! Thanks so much for taking care of returning guests!

Visiting from Indiana and our granddaughter suggested we go for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised at entire experience. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. He suggested the meat loaf which my granddaughter got and my wife and i are splitters so we shared the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were fantastic. The food was plentiful. The chicken tenders on the waffles were moist and cooked perfectly. The meatloaf came with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was some of the best meatloaf I have had. I would highly recommend this location. We will be going back to try the breakfast.

If sophistication and the South ever got married Whistle Britches would be the love child and let me tell you this baby is thriving Everything I ate was an explosion of Southern goodness Not one bite disappointed me From start to finish the food and the vibes were top tier I started with the Berry Smash cocktail not too sweet but full of bold elevated flavor that set the tone for the evening For an appetizer the crispy corn fritters with sriracha ranch were heavenly Crunchy on the outside creamy on the inside with just the right amount of heat For my supper I went with the Love Me Tender plate mainly because I wanted greens and they did not disappoint That plate was comfort food at its finest I also added the creamed corn jalapeño skillet cornbread and y’all that cornbread was divine Sweet savory and spicy with every bite A special shout out to Tayah I hope I got your name right such a sweet spirit and a perfect example of Southern hospitality The atmosphere is family friendly with a refined charm It’s where comfort meets class I will definitely be turning back

Google
What an amazing experience… my first time at this location and I was simply amazed by how great the food was and how excellent the service was too…. I tried some candid jalapeño with the sweet cornbread with butter and however odd it may seem it was definitely tasty 🤤….

Yelp
Food 10/10 ambiance 10/10 Service 20/10 Biscuits were served with homemade jam and butter, so delicious! Pot pie was really good but the salad was amazing!! Waffles and chicken pretty tasty, not the oily greasy ones. We will be back!

Yelp
I love biscuits and Whistle Britches makes some good biscuits just another reason to visit Southlake Towne Center area to shop and enjoy some good eats while at it. Located right off main with a parking lot right across from it, one of the easier parking options in the Center. Service was friendly and informative Lunch, Brunch is 1 page. We started with the pickled jalapeno Cornbread delicious. For our meal we had their namesake Whistle Britches Sandwich and Sir Mix a Lot plate which consisted of Fried Chicken,Cole Slaw Biscuits, Honey and Kettle Chips all served within a reasonable time frame. We'll be back in the area soon enough and this will be one of our options going forward.Fried Chicken was very good and plenty we brought home enough for a good lunch tomorrow.

Yelp
Whistle Britches is one of my favorite Southlake restaurants. We have been for breakfast and lunch a few times. I love their lemonade. The chicken & waffles, hot chicken sandwich, and tacos are all delicious. I am very skeptical about getting deviled eggs in a restaurant, because they are usually not as good as mine. These deviled eggs are worth getting. Delicious! Service is always perfect and I love the decor.

Yelp
It's been sittin' here for a while without us getting around to trying it, but finally did today and it's good reviews are deserved. The chicken is a tiny bit spicy, just a pinch, and is big and tender. The crust is good, not too much and not too little. I got the Love Me Tender, and despite bein' a growin' boy, I actually couldn't finish it, so the portions are very nice. The potato salad was really good, but being a side-lover, I personally could have gone with a tad less chicken in favor of a bit more side, but it's fine. The biscuits are large enough to turn out as actual sandwich "buns", so they are very big and nice quality. Service and atmosphere is great (had enough country music to do me for a year or two). Anyway, recommended!

Yelp
It was a beautiful day to sit out on a patio and have a couple of beers. Bethany took great care of us and we really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.

Yelp
Yummm, Came in a quick quiet lunch and delivered. Good chill atmosphere and great service. I had a mule with the Fried Green Tomato BLT. The mule was made perfectly. I am a simple sandwich guy and always love a good BLT. The fried green tomato BLT is a good twist and it tastes great, The texas toast was grilled perfect with butter add that with the crunch of the tomato and we are off to a great start. The pimento cheese gave the creamy texture and of course the bacon. Everything is better with bacon, the saltiness made for a great flavor profile. The had house sauces that you could try (chili sauce and mango habanero). They were both great and added the perfect amount of heat and sweet to the sandwich. My only feedback was the bacon could have been more crispy. Tayah was my server and she was great. Solid 4.5 but going with the 5 today.

Yelp
the Ambiance is super cute and the food not bad either. But the music was over the top honkey tonk and the staff was constantly "Y'ALL-ing" We're in southlake, not rural hillbilly country. A little country music is great but mix it up. it was bordering annoying sitting there with it playing non stop.

Yelp
This was my first time coming here. We were celebrating a birthday. They were definitely crowed on a Sunday. The food was pretty good. Everyone loved their food. I had a good time. The only thing they did was messed my eggs up and I wish they had plain grits instead of jalapeño grits only. I will definitely go back again to try more food. The wait staff was very nice

Yelp
I've been here before and wasn't a fan but must've been a bad day. Came here again with a friend visiting and we loved it! The biscuit was good but this cornbread!!!! I'm still thinking about it to this day. I would get this cornbread to go any time! It's THAT good! If you're coming here the one thing I highly recommend is this cornbread. It's perfect!

Yelp
I would give this place a 5 star, but the service is not that great and there is no team work in the floor. My guest and I waited at least 10 minutes until our server came and offered us water. However, I ordered the chicken pot pie and I was not disappointed! The flavors were all there! The chicken was kick'n, and the crust was crusted! I could get down with the whole country vibe, the place was nice. I'll definitely return because the food delivered!

Yelp
Cute place with fun farmhouse decor! Our waitress was attentive and helpful. My mom loved her chicken pot pie and salad. I got the aristocrat sandwich and it was delicious - great flavors and I ate everything but the bun. The special on the menu- chicken and waffle was hearty and a big hit with the hubby. The corn fritters are kind of spicy, (for a Yankee) the buffalo cauliflower was spicy as well but our preferred choice if you want an appetizer. Portions are generous.

Yelp
A great little spot in a strip mall, I want to go back for the lunch menu - we hit it before 2pm on a Sunday and the brunch menu was our only option. We split the chicken finger meal and got an elote corn (which is served ON the cob, we didn't realize it), it was good and saucy, but messy to eat. The chicken strip meal was plenty to split, but was not served with any dipping sauce. The biscuit was HUGE, and better than average. I really wanted to order the fried green tomato BLT, but not included on the brunch menu. It is lovely inside, parking is plentiful and the bathroom are neat & clean.

Yelp
Love me some Whistle Britches. I go shopping in the area (tons of shops) and then grab a delicious lunch or dinner here. Got the bbq cauliflower and dang it was spicy! Flavorful but makes you sweat. The best thing to eat is of course the namesake Whistle Britches. You can always put the jelly's on the side if it's your first time trying it but dang I live that jalapeño jelly. Our service is always with a smile here. While we don't make it here often we love it every time we come. If you're looking for a delicious and unique chicken joint this is it!

Yelp
This place is great! The food is amazing, the service is quick and the servers friendly, and the restaurant is clean and inviting. They even do a military discount! Try the namesake Whistle Britches sandwich...you'll be happy you did!

Yelp
Every thing that we have ever ordered here has been phenomenal. The candied jalapeño corn bread appetizer is a must. The tacos are fantastic and discounted on Tuesday (at least during lunch), the hot dang and the special fries are also tasty and this Cobb salad was VERY FRESH!! The service has always been spot on and I love the decor and ambiance. Very laid back. When I can find my other photos I will add them and update.

Yelp
We have been to whistle britches multiple times and have always loved our experience and the food. Some of our favorites are the pimento cheese, the colonial, and the BBEC. Today though was quite a different experience though. I have never had such an inattentive and lethargic server. Elle was very rude and in the end totally messed up our bill. We will be back but she will just make sure she's not our server. as someone who also used to serve I've never experienced anyone like her. It's not like she even had attitude. Because she didn't. She just wasn't present. And we noticed it with her other tables too.

Yelp
Me and the family went today. Server kept messing up our orders, not fully trained, empty drinks, the food wasn't up to par the last 3 visits with wrong orders. Kids seem to be running this place on sundays and its showing. Is this place starting to take a dive? Because it seems like it. Servers seem high, like in a fog, food has not been what I know it to be. Let's get back to the basics and get servers trained better. We were a table of 6 by the kitchen celebrating a birthday. Not pleasant. I'm giving one more chance before I throw in the towel and let a huge following know I need to find another place to enjoy chicken & waffles, tacos, and good drinks.

Yelp
Whistle Britches was on my list of places to try ever since I saw it on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Yes, I am easily influenced. This location is not the original location and is located in Southlake. It is in a shopping center with a bunch of other businesses so there is plenty of parking. We came around the time they opened and was seated immediately. Customer service was cool. We did have to wait for items from time to time, but when you're with good company, it's not a big deal. Whistle Britches is known for chicken and comfort food. It's a good example of a true southern restaurant. They open at 10 so you have a brunchy menu and later in the day it transitions into a dinner menu. They have a nice sized drink menu with cocktails, wine and beer. I decided to forgo a breakfast cocktail and just enjoyed some delicious coffee and water. They have this really open kitchen concept here that could be fun if you are seated near the kitchen. I love a good biscuit but didn't want a breakfast centered around it, so we ordered an order of buttermilk biscuits to start. We had four people in our party so I thought lets get two orders so everyone gets a biscuit. Our waitress told us one order is perfect as the biscuits are huge. She wasn't lying. They were for sure massive and the four of us didn't even finish them. They were flakey and tasted delicious with the honey butter and jam served with it. We also got an order of the Crispy Corn Fritters. These were good but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them again. I came in wanting breakfast, but then I also wanted chicken of some sort. The most logical thing for me to get was the Chicken N' Waffles. The waffle was huge and perfectly cooked. The perfect not too dense, not too fluffy consistency that I like in a waffle. It was topped with two large chicken tenders. Plating wise, it was a little weird because they put this delicious honey butter on the tenders as opposed to the waffle. By the time I got ready to prep my waffle, most of the butter was lathered on the tender which made for a slightly soggy tender. The tender itself was good, but I was expecting a little more flavor considering chicken is what they do. I could definitely taste the pickle brine though. The jalapeno cane syrup was a delicious addition to the chicken and waffle. Overall, a good meal was had and I would come back if in the area!

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch at 11 am on a Monday. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. Our server was lovely and answered all of our questions and made some great suggestions. The food was absolutely wonderful. My favorite being the fried green tomato BLT. I also loved the Elote! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! I would recommend arriving early as when we left at noon. There wasn't a free space available in the restaurant.

Yelp
The chicken and waffles and the chicken fredo are excellent. The low country food style is very good at this establishment. The atmosphere is light and airy with impeccable service. In April 2024 there was a change to HH, which is still outstanding. Cat, mixologist, makes great craft cocktails, the Old Fashion and watermelon margaritas are great. The corn fritters with a cocktail start the weekend perfectly.

Grace B.

Yelp
The food was disgusting. I got the Whistle Britches meal THE restaurant meal and was severely disappointed the biscuit was undercooked, dry, flavorless topped with a disgusting butter that tasted like apple cider vinegar taste that was acidic and made it physically incapable to eat I hope they change their recipe for this " signature" dish. Manager though was very kind and didn't even think twice about removing the item from my bill because I didn't touch it.

Yelp
We were in town visiting friends and they took us to this spot and did not miss. Starting from service it was a great experience. Their food was amazing. The pimento cheese appetizer and the corn bread are out of this world! I had the country breakfast and will probably have a hard time here in my hometown finding a better one. All of the plates my friends ordered looked just as good. I will definitely be visiting this place when in town again.

Yelp
We very much enjoyed our recent visit to Whistle Britches. Service was friendly from the check in stand, to our waitress, and the manager who was making their rounds checking on all of the tables. I got a meal that had bone in chicken, side and biscuit. The seasonal fruit jam that came with the biscuit had just enough kick to it, to give it a nice edge over other jams that I have had. The chicken itself was really good! I don't care for the sides it normally comes with, slaw or mustard based potato salad, but you can upgrade to another side. Though be careful when doing so because depending on the side it can make the meal that could already $17-$20 meal increase by $3-$5 depending on which side you go with based on what we subbed for. (Fries being $3.) We will for sure be back to try out other options on the menu!
google avatar

Alanah M.

Yelp
Used to go here all the time and would get the tender meal with fries instead of the biscuit and potato salad bc I can't have those items for allergy reasons. I just tried ordering and the "general manager" told me I couldn't do that and would have to pay separately for everything so ME & MY FAMILY WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Terrible service. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm torn on my review as the food was tasty and the waitress was great but the host and my initial welcoming was trash. I booked a reservation for brunch and specifically made a reservation because a person in my party was in a wheelchair. So I wanted to prepare the restaurant so there would be no surprises. Surprise, my reservation notes were an absolute waste. Not only was the hostess unwelcoming they sit us at a booth in the walkway. I kindly ask where is the person in the wheelchair to sit and she looks at me as if I were alien. Ma'am let me rephrase this, I need a table that accommodates a wheelchair. After chatting with the other host she sits us in another inaccessible table, so I chose my own. I guess she was annoyed because she didn't even move the extra chair ‍ I probably should've left but I was hungry and stayed. The actual waitress, Maria I believe was her name was great. Drip coffee - 0 out of 10 do not recommend Hotcakes and strips - 8 out of 10 Skillet cornbread - 10 out of 10 The hostess ruined this as a place I'd return to at least for a sit down meal.

The biscuits are the best! Service is always nice and easy Good for family gatherings. We had 10 people last time and it was amazing experience for everyone

Yelp
We had thought about checking out Whistle Britches but honestly kept forgetting that it was there. My husband had to stop in the area for another errand and remembered that it was there. Staff was on point during our visit, and the restaurant was well kept. The food was outstanding! My husband liked the seasonal jelly cause it had just a bit of a kick to it. The biscuits seemed in house made but mine ended up falling apart so easily it was hard to eat. Made me worry if the sandwiches are made with them if they would fall apart with those as well. We both liked the chicken options we got. You can change up sides but they really get you with the up charges on changing out sides on the menu items that come with potato salad or coleslaw, if you don't want those. $3 upcharge for fries & more for the mac n cheese. The fries could use some seasoning, that the mac n cheese sauce reminded us a bit of a Alfredo consistency. We still plan on coming back but being a bit more careful on choosing to change up sides. At least the potato salad is mustard based so I'm able to eat that ... or trying out a meal with a different kind of automatic side. (Pot pie comes with salad and I think other things may come with chips.)

Yelp
New Fave Place! This cute spot serves some juicy chicken and cocktails love the decor and vibes of this place! The staff is wonderful and funny! We came for a lunch date and left happy! I heard from many friends that they do an amazing brunch too so I look forward to coming for that! Plus the happy hour looks bomb with its prices! I had a blood orange martini and MAN was it good! Highly recommend that! Hubby gave a thumbs up the coffee! We got the Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer and it hit the spot! If you like wings, you gonna love this! I do recommend that if you know that you will get the Hot Dang dish, I would keep in mind that it would be over kill on your taste buds and to get something else! Both dishes are great, just better if you didn't get them at the same visit! My husband got the Chicken & Waffles and LOVED it! I was stealing his chicken tenders definitely going to get the Love Me Tenders dish next time! The chicken was JUICY on the inside and crispy on the outside! Dang so good! Waffles on point! I had the Hot Dang dish! This was an interesting concept with the chicken on top of a piece of bready goodness! I recommend getting the potato salad instead of the kettle chips! It was refreshing to have with this dish! If you love Nashville style hot chicken sandwiches, you'll love this!

Yelp
The food is very good! I grabbed a Cobb salad to go and that was delish! They have a small selection of wine but it is nice to sip and chat with your buddies. The service is very nice and friendly as well. The location is great here since you can walk around and check out the grapevine shops. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
The BEST scrambled eggs we have ever had in our entire lives. I'm not even exaggerating, they are absolutely amazing. The Cajun fries have a bit of a kick to it and was a bit much for me, but I'm sensitive to spicy food. The whistle britches sandwich was incredibly filling. Really anything with the biscuit is really filling. It's a large dense biscuit. The chicken was moist as well. The Mac and cheese was fine, nothing special. Probably wouldn't get it again. The chicken fried steak was not bad as well. The to-go orders come in these little boxes like packed lunches. Really good presentation.
google avatar

Yelp
Omg. Why don't I know about this place. The cornbread. . I can't even begin to describe. Cocktails are amazing and the chicken!!!
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
Let's start with the food. DAYUM!!! They know what they're doing in the kitchen. Predominantly variations on brunch is what we have been here for. You truly can't go wrong. It's doesn't matter what you order, it will taste good. We haven't been disappointed yet and it's our third weekend in a row. The service, simply put, excellent. Everyone that works here hustles hard to make sure you have a good dining experience. It would seem that their new manager Toni had done a great job of raising the bar on customer service. The ambiance offered is comfortable. Exposed brick walls and well stuffed seating make it a relaxing experience while enjoying your meal. They have a full bar and offer cocktail specials as well. All and all, we thoroughly enjoy coming here. You might think you're at an upscale restaurant by the way they treat you. Just go there already.

Yelp
Food was delicious! I tried several of the sauces but the ranch was my favorite it's homemade. Cute little place with fast service. Will be back.

Yelp
We were in Southlake and did a Yelp search for breakfast and Whistle Britches got our attention. We had one more day in Texas before heading home and wanted some local cuisine. This place was exceptional. Everything we ordered was tasty and the service was amazing! We ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken fried steak. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was so good. This is definitely a place I wish I could eat at again.

Jonathan P.

Yelp
The food is a great "comfort food" type of spot. It's a bit on the heavy side so come hungry!
google avatar

Deya Z.

Yelp
In town for work recently and decided to stop by for happy hour. they were so slow but i assume it's because they had just opened. The deviled eggs were so good! I had the nashville hot sandwich with mac and cheese and fries. Both were super tasty. Drink wise, the Killa Bee was super refreshing!
google avatar

Wren T.

Yelp
A darling place. Not much healthy to eat here though. I got the grilled chicken Cobb salad, but the grilled chicken was very dry and tough. Everything else about the salad was great, the egg, avocado, blue cheese, and bacon. I also really liked the dressing, light and refreshing. I wish I had got the breaded chicken tenders because I had a bite from someone else and that was delicious. That is their cup of tea. Nice wine by the glass prices : only six dollars... Love that

Leenie P.

Yelp
Chicken and reviled eggs are awesome, but very pricey! The service was good.... Not a great ambiance.
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
Happy hour has changed, now only to 6! The drinks are good and so is the food. Please update your website on happy hour times.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
Love the food and the atmosphere. The waitress (Victoria) recommended the fried green tomatoes and they did not disappoint. A little sea salt on top was just the right touch. The sauce it came with was excellent. We also had the deviled eggs which were delicious!! She also suggested the pork chop which was amazingly flavorful and the corn was flavored well with a little spicy kick. The grits were the best I've had. The bathroom had great sensors on the water faucet.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! Went there for dinner and came back the next day for brunch. Fried green tomato BLT ! Hotcakes and fried chicken both delicious!

Brian M.

Yelp
Great food! Service with a smile (thanks, Tayah!) Nice atmosphere! I'll definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Great place. Best tenders I've found in DFW. Biscuit and jam was tasty, and the grits are some of the best I've had, ever....
google avatar

Ty N.

Yelp
Espresso martinis delicious without orange peels (imo) great price for them especially nowadays. I bet anything on menu would be good but I really only get the chicken strips and chicken biscuit. I mean it's a Chicken place so. Seating is... like a diner. I personally don't like being back to back with people like more than normal it bugs me and yet you can bet we will be here once a week for brunch. Food and service more than makes up for it.
google avatar

Veronica W.

Yelp
Food was delicious! We started with biscuits for the appetizer and it came with this apple lime jam and topped with honey butter, this strange pairing came together scrumptiously. It tasted like a combination of apple pie with key lime pie. We then shared a plate of chicken and pancakes, topped with bacon bits, powdered sugar and butter. Our server and, whom I can assume, the manager gave us perfect service. The server was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The manager saw us running low on that delicious jam concoction and came to give us more. The ambiance gives off vibes of country meets girl. If you are looking for a place to do brunch, then this is the place to visit.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
I absolutely love whistle britches and have been to many of their locations. When I say every location is delicious, it is. This is the first time I came here for dinner and not brunch (this place slaps for brunch) and I was just as happy. I had the Don Chignon sandwich which was delicious and had the perfect combination of ingredients. I also had the pimento cheese appetizer and the corn fritters. Definitely try this place out anytime of the day for some yummy food.
google avatar

Sametra B.

Yelp
Really delicious! The waffle was soft and flavorful. The chicken had a great deal of flavor, and the texture was perfect. The jalapeño syrup isn't spicy at all in case you're wondering. Really delicious food. Super glad we made the trip!

Stephanie P.

Yelp
The food was great and plentiful. Down home cooking in an upscale way. The service was excellent. If you're going in a weekend you may have a small wait.

April M.

Yelp
Service and food was great. I had the Don Chingon which was a chicken bacon sandwich with lots of salted onions and queso. It was delicious and mildly spicy. Potato chips were great. My sister had Tacos Por Favor. 3 Meaty fried chicken tacos with the fixings. Delicious. Reasonably priced at $16.
