Seafood plater was great service was great all sides where great but the fail we had was the steak didn’t taste like a steak tasted like an felt like we were eating liver

We had a Christmas dinner party there Saturday the 6th of December was 10 of us ,the food was delicious and really big portions ,our waitress was really nice and friendly and made sure we all was very well taken care of Thank you for a great day and dinner

The food is good. Nice size portions. You need to try the cheese stick and pretzels before your meal.

Prices are fair and portions are HUGE, my husband always gets their fish and says it’s the best in the valley. Highly recommend their onion rings with the chipotle ranch. Definitely come hungry! Service is always top tier. Despite it being a small town favorite you’ll never feel like a stranger and leave feeling like family.

Nice food you get a lot, but service was bad. When my food was ready she handed me my slip to pay and walked away, I had to ask someone else for condiments didn't get any silverware or napkins.

I had the pleasure of visiting the White Bear for my first time on wing night! $0.75 cent wings, dine-in only, were huge, hot, and crispy. I loved the large variety of sauce options. The menu only lists about half of what they truly have. We easily found parking in the large, gravel lot, and somehow secured a table in the dining room despite how busy they were. Our server/waitress was prompt, friendly, and patient as our 92 year old grandmom was ordering. They have a decent sized bar area with several TVs and a pretty big dining room with a few booths and several tables seating anywhere from 4-8 people. I thought everything was fairly priced and they have a rotating selection of desserts that all sound heavenly!

Fish platter was shared by my wife and I. Fish and fries were done to perfection. The cole slaw was very good. There was so much food we brought leftovers home for the next day. Was very good. The service was great!! It was a nice afternoon, so we ate out on the deck. We loved it.

food was ok. Service was poor. Waitress forgot our salads. Ordered 12 wings for $12.99. Ask her if I could split them,she said no problem. I get the bill and was charged 8.99 twice. Had to ask twice for ranch dressing for the wings. Not a good experience for our first time.

Local hole in the wall type of restaurant that we love to visit when in town. The fish is always delicious!

Steak was delicious . Service very good and attentive fish that went with the surf and turf so-so. Zucchini appetizer was very good

My husband and I have been eating there for several years. It was our "go to" place. Tonight we went there and we waited for a long time until someone came and asked what we were drinking. We waited at least 10 mins for our drinks but as we waited, another couple came in and sat down at the table by ours. A different waitress addressed them immediately and they got their drinks and order taken before we got ours. My husband finished his beer and the girl brought him another without even asking me if i wanted or needed another. When our food came, my order was wrong and I didn't get my side which I had to ask for. Then I realized I ordered a fish sandwich and I got the fish dinner instead. I asked our server to check my order and she said she must have hit the wrong button. She did bring me a toasted bun and my side but I also had to ask her to fix the check and not charge me $5 more for the dinner i didn't order. It was all remedied, however this was the worst experience I've ever had there. Seems like it's gone downhill since the new owners took over.

Johnson's has all the makings of a classic hole in the wall, but it never seems to be able to pull it off. The bar area has a nice set up, but the food always falls flat. As in after going I always ask why did I go?

Visiting from Florida my wife and I took her father out to dinner. We requested to dine on the Deck because we had our fur baby. Ray Lynn was our server, and she was truly exceptional! She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and had an outstanding personality! Another amazing and noteworthy experience was any other employee that passed by our table, stopped by and chatted with us and made sure we were pleased. Truly a fantastic experience! Thank You all. Steaks are awesome too!

If you're not from around these parts... maybe you wouldn't understand, but White Bear is an old piece of nostalgia around here. Little ruff around the edges, but once you try it, you'll be back! Pulled Pork Nachos & Cheese Wedges are ALWAYS A GREAT CHOICE! Would recommend almost anything on the menu, once in a long while they have an "off night" but is very few & far between. Honestly don't think we've had a bad meal yet... OH & if you're having a special birthday celebration don't forget to have the nice waitress sing you her golden tune, will be a memory that last a lifetime. ENJOY!

Definitely had the local dive feel. Not a bad thing at all. You walk into the smell of fried foods because seemingly the kitchen is on the left of the entrance. The bar is right when you walk in and the dining area a bit back. We shared the White Bear Special for &19.999: fish, shrimp, ribs with two sides- onion rings and green beans. I really liked the ribs. Very tender with great flavor. The shrimp was delicious and the fish was good. I was disappointed with the onion rings. I thought the batter was too thick and they were not crispy enough. Service was good.

First time here. Daughter and I shared the Bear special which was 1/3 slip ribs, 3 huge pieces of battered cod and three batter shrimps. Everything was delicious and way to much for two people. We also shared the onion rings which were huge, although a bit greasy. Green beans had bacon in it and were very good. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable!

Place is definitely an out dated hole in the wall. Waiter was not very knowledgeable. Food was not hot at all and very dry. Left a lot to be desired.

Come hungry....for real though don't eat all day before you head to the White Bear! Local atmosphere with a great deck for outdoor seating. Separate dining room from the bar area is a plus for families. Start with the cheese sticks (You'll thank me later!) They are ENORMOUS (definitely shareable) & delicious. No small little stick of string cheese....you get an entire plate full of skewered cheese fried to perfection. Great daily specials such as Taco Tuesdays are always a favorite! All of the meals are more food than I can ever eat in one sitting...but fries covered in gravy....HELLO!! If you leave hungry, then you did something wrong.

Love Johnson's White Bear! Good is great. You have to order the fried cheese sticks. It's a go to for me! Shane is a great bartender and Christy is the best waitress around. Love the historic feel to the restaurant.

Wow! The "Johnson Special" is so good. It's a whole ton of beef topped with ham and the usual...lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese. Served with delicious fries. Wife's family is from Jefferson county and we like stopping by whenever we're in town and going out for dinner. The back dining room is great for large groups. Sit outside on the deck when the weather is nice. Though I don't live in town I could see this as being a good place to come watch whatever sporting event is on that night.

A family dining restaurant you would expect to find in a country setting. Definitely get your money's worth here (the portions are plentiful) and staff is friendly but the inside dining area somewhat lacking, could be slightly improved; and I did not care for their fries (I would prefer fresh cut fries). Think they use canned mushrooms on their mushroom Swiss burger, too; but the burger itself is not bad at all- tender, juicy, and flavorful. Not all too bad of a place all in all. They serve Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake!

Awful food-tasted like everything was frozen. Service was slow. Wouldn't recommend coming here. Don't waste your money. All the locals love it and recommended we try it, but it was so disappointing. Waitress apologized when I told her we weren't happy with the food, she didn't take anything off the check (whatever-not a big deal) but then said she hoped we'd come back.... Definitely not! On a plus side, women's bathroom is adorable.

Unfortunately I have to say the quality of the food is sub-par now. My family and friends have gone here for years but in the past few months ending this evening the food quality has continued to decline. Not sure what has happened but we are sure we we will not be back.

I love the fish! Can be pricey but you get a lot of food. The provolone stix are amazing!

Amazing food. We had bacon burgers, pretzel sticks, and the nachos and everything was delicious!

This is an absolutely awesome local place! If you are hungry and want delicious food I would definitely recommend coming here! The provolone sticks are amazing!!! I haven't tried a thing on the menu that I wouldn't order again. Portions are HUGE. The steak is one of the best I've ever had.

We visit my Mom in Ohio often and every time we come we eat at White Bear. Food is awesome, portions are huge, great atmosphere. Always packed with people. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Definitely the best steaks in the valley. I have pretty much tried everything on the menu and love it all. Service was excellent and food is fresh and "to die for" so anyone that doesn't get here is losing out. I have been to many restaurants nationwide and there are few that compare to Johnson's White Bear. Even met a couple from South Carolina and another form Texas that stopped in just to eat and they both said they would be back next time they are in Ohio. Great food, excellent staff, and owners that care. They just opened a deck too.
