The Twin Cities’ Most Heartbreaking Restaurant Closures of 2023 - Eater Twin Cities

"The East Lake Street White Castle was kind of a shock — it’s a touchstone for a lot of people and the changing landscape and inevitable subsequent gentrification of the city is more of a heartbreak than any one restaurant closure." - Eater Staff

White Castle is known for its freshly cooked burgers at a reasonable price . I came to this location twice the first time I was happy with my order everything was fine . My experience today was the opposite. The burger was room temperature and mushy with old crustified onions and a folded pile of extra dry pickles on top. Employees don't take pride in food preparation obviously and the cashier didn't give me my receipt she readily gave the customer prior to serving me. The service was as bad as the food . I want to leave this review to let others check the temp of their food before leaving because the cook put a hot burger on the top and room temperature mushy crappy burgers on the bottom. Its absolutely disgusting and dangerous . It could make someone become hospitalized.

Google
I had never been to this White Castle. It's modern and clean and the food was excellent. It was a Friday during Lent so I was glad to see they had fish Sliders on the menu. My husband thought it was better than the California burger. I will keep it on mind next time we are in the area!

Google
Ordered the sliders, was disgusting. Also first time in white castle, visited to check out hype of my favourite movie Harold & Kumar. Very disappointed with the taste of those sliders.

Google
Eveytime I go to that location it's always something going on. No matter how pleasant and nice I am to whoever is on that box I'm still greated with lack luster customer service. On this day she had the look as if she didn't want to be there and I get it often times I don't feel like being at work either but I can't take it out on the customer. The only reason I went is to have a feel of being back home in East St Louis

Google
I haven't been to a White Castle in about 40 years cuz there's none where I live. BUT back in the day it was fun to watch them being made. I'd always go there when I went to the Work Opportunity Center in South Minneapolis! When I lived in Florida there was Krystal which had the little square sliders just like the beloved Castle burgers!!

Google
Worst staff I've ever experienced at white castles. Call this guy to put ketchup on my burgers. He didn't put ketchup on. Not one of them, not knowing I drove all the way from Fargo to Minneapolis, just to come to white castles. On top of that, when I came back in and I told him but not a hurt depart. I said about catching up on my burgers. He's like Yup and here's some catch up for you right hear? I'm like I'm driving. I don't got time to manually put it on each one of my burgers. That's why I told you to do it so we had a smart mouth. So ISO I just asked him.Kindly, are you stupid or lazy?Did not understand why the cats are watching on my burgers and why you're smart mountain meat.He quickly shut up

Google
A rare and guilty pleasure is a White Castle double with no pickle. Love them. No fast food at all in our little town which is fine with me but I can occasionally be tempted when driving by a White Castle. Not sure how they managed to do it but this place screwed up a simple order like that. I didn't order cheese cuz I don't want cheese. I won't eat the cheese. never asked me about cheese just slapped it on my burger

Google
I’m from California, so White Castle is always a treat for me when I’m out here in Minneapolis. I ordered the double cheeseburgers and double cheeseburgers w lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. They were fantastic and made to order. Fries need improvement, but not terrible. Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
Being from the West Coast, I had to try White Castle. This location does drive-thru only after 4 PM. The drive-thru was kind of slow, but not horrible. It ordered 4 sliders and fries. I got two cheese, 1 original and one Impossible. They were decent with ketchup. Years ago I used to buy them frozen at a grocery store in L.A. they tasted about the same.

Yelp
*I am rating this in the context of fast food restaurants* This is the closest White Castle to me, and also the only White Castle I've ever eaten at and I've been very pleasantly surprised each time I've been. Ever since watching Harold and Kumar as a kid, I've wanted to see what was so good about White Castle that they needed to make a movie about it. White Castle has a really large menu of sliders, fries, chicken *rings*, Mac n cheese bites, desserts on a stick and a whole lot more. I know a lot of people are disgusted by White Castle, but that didn't stop me from giving it a try and I'm really glad I did. I think White Castle is surprisingly and not ironically a good fast food chain. When I went with a friend, we decided to sample a bunch of different items on their menu so we ordered a few cheese sliders, chicken rings, loaded fries, Mac n cheese bites, onion crisps, and the Sprite Puffy Mix. The sliders and chicken rings were by far the best. The sliders are made with real, fresh beef albeit probably only like a single ounce of meat. But they're about ~$1 and served on a fluffy Hawaiian roll type of bread. Really delicious and you can easily eat 5 without a problem. The surprise hit were the chicken rings. They are like onion rings, but with chicken. I know what most people would say "chickens don't come in ring shapes", but the truth is most fast food places makes their chicken nuggets with ground chicken so there really is no "right shape". That being said, the ring is perfect for dipping and a great amount of surface area for crispiness. The fries were good although just average in terms of fast food. The same can be said about the onion crisps. Good solid sides that won't blow your mind. The mac n cheese bites were a miss. Neither of us really liked them at all. The sprite puffy mix was also pretty good, but nothing rivals the signature drink of Taco Bell: Baja blast. And as for this location, I've seen some bad reviews about their service, missing items, etc. I've been here a few times both inside and in the drive thru and the staff have always been very friendly and have never missed a single thing. Plus, they are always super fast, I get my food almost immediately every time. If you've never had White Castle, stop listening to the haters and give it a try.

Yelp
Kareem needs to be fired neow!!! Super unprofessional and unfriendly he's yelling at employees. Music was loud and unproffesional. And on top of all of that my fish nibbles are cold .if I could do a zero star I would

Yelp
Finally. Found a local White Castle a few miles from my apartment. And unlike some of the locations in my hometown of Columbus Ohio, this one is 24/7. Now I can get my crave on. The drive-thru went fast though the girl who took my order was less than enthused. And I always wait to see if they say thank you. Not this time. But the fresh taste of sliders is what I came for. Cost keeps rising. It wasn't that long ago when they were $0.68 each. Now $0.89 each. My fish sandwiches are really getting expensive and please ditch the slice of cold cheese. Cheese on fish is a big no-no. Kill the wonderlund who thought of that one. Menu is starting to get convoluted too.

Sierra D.

Yelp
Me and family drive from Rochester to white castle in Appl Valley MN because we love the food! Especially the Fish nibbles! Me and my family enjoy this restaurant. Sure it's not the fanciest place but it's got delicious food and great service! Great price for amount of food and variety!!

Yelp
You've got the crave? Make this your spot. Really friendly staff at this location! They often have a positive attitude even though they're often busy. The food of course is predictable. -1 star for them often having their lobby closed due to low staffing. I walk to this location. I wish in these circumstances they'd make it To Go Order Only. Fortunately, unlike other White Castles, they will take your order from the drive through on foot, but it's an awkward and cold experience.
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
Well, this White Castle is ok. Asked for the sliders with "both," which in Minneapolis means ketchup and mustard but in NY it means nothing apparently. They don't even have mustard to put on, they give you packets. Well, fine. The restaurant was decently clean but the service was lethargic. Still, I will always love White Castle for reasons most people I date will never understand.

Miles C.

Yelp
Do not go here for drive through. Not only do the employees dread serving the drive through, but the wait is often 20 minutes or more. I think four people work inside and it doesn't have the staffing to keep up with demand in the evening.

David D.

Yelp
Always tasty at the moment. Only negative was having to order with phones which was a major pain for many especially at that late hour.

Yelp
My son and I were at Paisley Park for a concert and found there was a White Castle nearby! We had great food-- and my son now is a big fan of White Castle! Thank you!

Yelp
I was tempted to try the Impossible slider here, since there aren't any White Castle locations in California. For $2 it's pretty cheap but also really bad. It's gray, lacking any flavor and I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of it. (Side note: it's vegan if you skip the cheese). I also got a veggie slider ($1) which was a more traditional veggie burger patty. This wasn't great either, but had a bit more flavor than the Impossible slider. White Castle also has frozen veggie and black bean sliders at grocery stores which are actually decent. It's weird that the restaurant stuff is so much worse. I grew up eating White Castle back in Chicago. I've definitely grown up since then and won't be back. That said, it's cool they offer vegan options now.

Autumn M.

Yelp
I called numerous times with no answer. It's like your calling a cell phone. The first time I called, someone picked up and hung up. Say you work over north without saying you work over north. It's a shame that good service can't be provided in your neighborhood. I had a $35 Door Dash order. Do you want to know what I received? Two fucking chicken ring sliders that was two hours old. The ticket clearly said, "PICK UP ORDER", not for delivery. The Door Dash driver said he has a delivery issue EVERYTIME! The Dasher got me a full refund. That's not what I wanted. I wanted a FULL stomach. They clearly need new management.

Yelp
If loving White Castle is wrong, I don't want to be right. This one's open 24hrs, and let's face it, you usually only want (need?) on a late-night occasion. The classic cheeseburger sliders are a must of course, but I try to get the Impossible Sliders to be "healthy". And I'll also throw some chicken rings into the mix too. We've try their veggie and fish sliders before, but they're nothing to write home about. But have you had their Birthday Cake On A Stick? An underrated fast-food treat imho. And yes, I have stumbled away with a Crave Case after a night at The Otter, no shame! This location can often be a shitshow, though. Long lines, wrong orders, very distracted employees, traffic off of Central Ave...

Yelp
My first time to a White Castle! Yes, I saw the Harold & Kumar, and always wanted to know what the big deal was. I had gotten out of a movie late, and didn't want to go anywhere and then I saw the "light"...LOL! I parked and went in because I needed to see inside. It's got a good size dining room. The menu is a little complicated if you don't know what you're doing. I just ordered six bacon cheese sliders to go. The young man who helped me was courteous, but the girl who delivered was friendly. Me: Are the vegetarian ones good? She: At first I was like, what? and I thought they were going to be nasty, but they taste pretty good. Me: Maybe next time...they sound too healthy! She: (laughing) Have a nice evening! After eating the six, I probably could've eaten 4-6 more! They are very tasty and hit the spot!
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
Are you looking to wait 20 minutes for 2 sliders? Then this is the place for you. Will you even get to place your order before your lunch break is over?? Who's to say! It's all part of the fun.
google avatar

Tawanda R.

Yelp
"What's your crave?" I used to never think a person could crave White Castle, but I do crave it! LOL I ordered a slider, a jalapeno slider, medium fry, fish slider no cheese and 9 piece chicken ring. Smashed it all! LOL ... mostly on the ride home. ...except for the last 4 rings. I went through the drive through, placed my order, and the girl working the drive thru had a hard time hearing me and I her ,but we got my order worked out. Once at the window, she had good service and was very polite. I asked for condiments and salt and received them all. Everything was fresh and hot and it didn't take long to receive my order. This my location, closest to my home. I'm okay with that.

Spencer B.

Yelp
This White Castle regularly takes 10-20 minutes per vehicle. White Castle MN also doesn't care AT all about customer service. Inquiries don't get answered ever.
google avatar

Yelp
Call this cold stuff food? Horrible. Wrong order. Nasty cold something. Yuck!!!!! really terrible. Advice not complain to staff. They get pretty mean. Stay away from here.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
This was my very first experience of White Castle, and it lived up to it's expectations. Cheap fast food ordered at 2am was greasy and messy. I tried cheeseburger sliders, BBQ sliders, and original. None had much flavor. The only item worth getting is the chicken rings and fries. Oh and know that after 6 sliders, you best borrow your neighbors toilet.
google avatar

India R.

Yelp
I waited 16 minutes with one person ahead of me. When I I finally got my cheeseburgers they were cold and the cheese was not melted at all. I could see through the window one of the ladies doing something for a minute and then coming back and scrolling through her phone. As a line of cars behind me got longer and longer.
google avatar

Yelp
I was fully content with my food I got a box of 30 and was fully satisfied only reason its a 3 star is we asked for no onions and we got onions perfect munchies spot!

Yelp
Been a life-long fan of White Castle. Extremely slow service last night. It took a very long time just to place an order and a long time just to get it. I'd guess that I rolled in around 915pm and didn't get on my way again until 940pm. I ordered a #1 combo. As I went to pick it up, the guy in the window said "4 cheeseburgers" and I said, no, "4 hamburgers" and he pulled the bag back. There was a bit of a delay before I was on my way. I later bit into the first burger only to find that they didn't give me hamburgers - they just took the cheeseburgers and just scraped off most of the cheese! I've generally stopped in here once a month or so, usually late at night, but I think I'm done with these guys.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
This fancy re-done from the ground up fast food joint could use some more staff. They are soooooo slow. I've been here twice since they've reopened, once in the DT & once inside and both times I've had a single person in front of me yet my order of some chicken sandwiches takes well over ten minutes after ordering it. Maybe they haven't quite got staffing down yet, but they definitely need to do better.
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
Every single time I come here they mess up my order. I feel my request of "no cheese" is simple enough but is apparently too complex for this kitchen. I've been naively returning to this establishment time and time again in hopes that someone will get it right, alas they never have. Not even once. I DO NOT recommend coming here if you have allergies or tend to have special requests. PS: I think they bank on most people using the drive-thru because every time I have gone inside it has been filthy.
google avatar

Jillian S.

Yelp
This was a horrible experience the food was horrible. It took forever to receive the food and when we did it was cold and gross.

Yelp
My first White Castle experience didn't let me down! Living in California my whole life, where brick-and-mortar White Castles are non-existent, meant my only exposure to the brand was through their frozen burgers. Since I was a kid, I loved those lil' frozen burgers and dreamed that one day I'd get to try a "real" one. My first stop after getting off the plane at MSP was White Castle to get some White Castle burgers and fries to go. I opted for three cheese burgers and a small order of fries. Each burger was packaged in it's own cardboard holding tray to ensure they stayed intact on the drive. The crinkle-cut fries were hot and crispy, and the cheeseburgers a delight. The chopped onions really make their burgers stand out. Thin, well-seasoned patty, just the right amount of cheese, and a soft and fresh bun. Everything is just perfectly proportioned. Our order took awhile to be filled, but the employee on the intercom and the cashier were friendly and accurate in filling our order. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to return!

Yelp
I came in here looking for a Mormon church and lo-and-behold I stumble upon a low-rent burger joint. No matter - I would rather eat a burger than listen to some religious nut talk about the Church of Latter-day Saints. Not that White Castle isn't worthy of worship. The creator White Castle is credited with inventing the hamburger bun and the fast-food assembly line. (if I am to believe Wikipedia, and I always do) White Castle is a 24/7 operation! That's the nicest thing I can say, other than courteous and prompt service. As for food, I ordered a Turkey slider with cranberry, a cheeseburger slider, and a chicken and waffle slider. The chicken and waffle slider was tasty and I would get it again! The other tidbits were mediocre at best, but best described as disappointing. I think the whole experience would have been better after a night-long escape involving cops, copious amounts of weed and a bengal tiger thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately, I was flying solo and had only a couple pints German lager helping me out. Seriously, though, I only came here because of Harold and Kumar and we don't have White Castle in Boston. The mid-west can keep it! I'll take Indian or Chinese food over steamy sliders any day of the week.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
As nasty as this place can be it still has a special place in my heart. I'll over look the transients camped out and the awful bathrooms. This place is a gem and their Valentine's dinner was actually super cute and the employees were on point, I will be back for that next year Never change White Castle, never change
google avatar

Tinuola O.

Yelp
There's this sickly looking blonde white lady that works overnight that's apparently always wakes up at the wrong side of the bed everyday of her life. She literally got our order wrong (no surprise again) and we drove all the way back because my friends were hungry. She said we lied and got all red and puffy for no reason. It's just a $3 sandwich, why would we lie?? And then she hogged our receipt that had proof?? So unnecessarily rude. Then she wanted to call the cops? HUH FOR WHAT?? I just hope she doesn't get a stroke slamming the window like that. Weird druggie

Frank W.

Yelp
Had to wait at least five minutes for the car in front of me to order! Then had to wait another five minutes before they took my order! The ordering confirmation screen didn't work so I don't know if they got my order right. The order person didn't repeat the order either. Veeeeery slooooow. What happened to fast food?
google avatar

Zach B.

Yelp
I love the place, but I gotta stop ordering online, thinking it'll be a faster method. It always seems to catch the employees by surprise when I show up. Been hanging out 20 minutes. So it's slow, but the jalapeño sliders, cheese curds, and fried pickles are great late-night food. No one belongs here in the daylight.

Dan D.

Yelp
Maybe the single slowest fast food establishment in America. Also they only give you one sauce.

Alexander J.

Yelp
I've attempted to order from the drive through 3 times in the past 2 months. Everything there was 1-2 cars in front of me. First attempt I sat at the order window for 15 minutes only for the person on the other end to tell me to wait. Second time I was able to place an order but sat at the window for 20 minutes without anyone saying hello. Third time i final got my order but only after weighting for 15 minutes to get served with only 2 cars in front of me. When I rolled up to the pay window your employees were in the back texting on their phones. I understand covid might have caused you to be short staffed but as a business you deserve to have employees who want to work. There are many people out of work that would be greatful for a job right now.
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
I have been here a few times for their late night slider meals. This is a fantastic place to go for when I get hungry late at night. There are not very many White Castles of which I have a fondness. Of all the White Castles to where I have ever been, this one ranks as one of the best ones. I always order my food inside and take it to go. The employees appear to have a good eye on cleanliness and order. They do a great job at keeping their lobby and their work area clean and spotless. I have never once had a problem with cleanliness here. The condiment area is always arranged well. I can access everything from that area with no problems. The employees are always friendly. Half of the late-night employees are there every time I am there, and some of them have started recognizing me when they see me. Therefore, I am always comfortable talking to them and taking my order with them. Usually, I need a minute or two to think about what value meal I want. They are always accommodating of that, and they always re-approach me the moment I am ready to take my order. The food is always delicious. I always order a pack of sliders with fries and a drink. The sliders are small in size so it takes multiple sliders to fill me up. I am glad that White Castle has value meals that include the multiple amount that fits my appetite and put in consideration the small size the individual sliders are. The food is always served to me hot and fresh. I have never had a problem with cold or soggy food. Anytime I am in the area and in need of some good late-night food, I will continue coming to this location for such. I feel like I can count on them to please my late-night food urges.

Jaidan O.

Yelp
very very slow waiting in line for almost an hour for one crave case and very poor customer service would not recommend!!

Barbara W.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch today. I am a white castle fan but this particular one makes you wonder if it's worth it. Couldn't hear at the drive through at all. I had to ask him to speak louder and I got a little louder whisper. Slow, slow, slow waiting for our food even though there was no customers inside. Interesting to see that the guy is wearing the microphone up by his forehead. The food tastes ok. No walt on the fries though and the drinks obviously spilled over and were a mess to pick up. Really disappointed and won't be stopping at this one again. Now I know why it was so empty at lunchtime.

Leo D.

Yelp
The sliders here are just bad. They taste okay while you're eating them but the aftertaste is absolutely terrible. It's not even close to worth it. I highly advise against eating here, just do yourself a favor and avoid.

Kim C.

Yelp
Bad experience! Ordered 2 veggie sliders and medium fries. Received 2 sliders in my bag. Returned my bag to get the fries and waited another several minutes. When I got home, my veggie sliders were cheeseburgers with bacon. I think this had to be deliberate. Learned my lesson.
google avatar

Jerice A.

Yelp
First time here at 28 years old. 4 sliders and fries as a meal-words can't describe the experience. Fast service, very busy, just not my cup of tea.
google avatar

Archie R.

Yelp
First, I had to suffer through Harold and Kumar knowing that the nearest White Castle is like 1200 miles away. Second, I had to continue to watch White Castle ads on TV knowing that the nearest White Castle is 1200 miles away. Third, I tried to appease my curiosity by buying the frozen White Castle burgers in my grocer's freezer aisle (I always wanted to say "grocer's freezer aisle"). So, being in Minnesota, I got on my trusted steed (Ford Explorer rental) and decided to lead a charge on White Castle. 8 burgers later I felt like calling some sort of self help hotline. It's no In-N-Out Burger but those little bastards are tasty. Dwarf.
google avatar

Lida K.

Yelp
John Cho my Korean brother why have you forsaken me?! I think that Harold and Kumar does accurately show the initial moments of eating White Castle. This transcendental experience of stuffing those little sliders into your mouth and seeing the steam rise off of those rise as they enter you mouth. Rawrrrr DELICIOUS. What's not so delicious is the aftermath. Those burgers are damn greasy and it'll wreck havoc on your insides. About twenty minutes later, I could feel the gurgling and the churning. I knew at that moment I was screwed. A hour later I threw up. Maybe I should drink before eating because apparently that's the way to go with White Castle.
google avatar

Vy B.

Yelp
You know what, when you crave White Castle, you CRAVE White Castle. Yes, this place might not be the cleanest, yes, it may not be the safest at 2am, and yes, those chicken rings are not normal occurrences in nature, but their Breakfast sandwiches? Phenomenal. I've been to fancy schmancy breakfast cafés and eaten breakfast in 5 star hotels but have yet to find a breakfast sandwich as good as their toasted English muffin sausage and egg sandwich. Maybe it's the fresh cracked egg that I enjoy, maybe it's eating it with tots, or maybe it's the fact that it's usually the first thing I eat in the morning so my standards are not as high yet but this bfast sandwich is unexpectedly on point. Other than that, their service is okay and their drive through speaker system is terrible. They almost always get part of my order wrong because again, their speaker system is terrible.
google avatar

R D.

Yelp
I couldn't find Harold or Kumar here. But there were lots of more "interesting" people............woof! Anyways, the little burgers were delicious! The fries were ok. WOULD I GO BACK? ABSOLUTELY!
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
This is definetely my favorite White Castle in Minneapolis, there are only 3 in the city and while I'm a fan of the food in general those other locations will sometimes not have as fresh of food. Whenever I've wen't to this location the burgers and fries have always been hot and fresh. White Castle is one of those places that I find people usually either love or hate. I too feel something going on in my gut after eating at one of thier restaraunts, and while I don't suggest coming here before a job interview or date, I don't think it's doing as much damage to your insides as it sounds. For me White Castle burgers are as good as chicken noodle soup for when I'm sick as they are one of the only things that agree with me when feeling under the weather. So, if it was that hard on the inner organs I don't think that would be the case. I also like that the burgers aren't loaded with grease like so many other fast food places out there, and this is the ONLY place I can eat a burger without ketchup. I credit that to the way the minced onions that come on them go with the meat. As much as I like it it's still a big National Fast Food Chain and it means alot for me to even say I'm a fan of any of those kind of places. They won't get 5 stars from me but I'll give credit where credit is deserved. White Castle is open 24 hours which is extremely hard to find these day's, especially for near Downtown, however only the drive thru operates on a 24 hour basis. It would be nice if the dining area was also open late at night but because of some of the people that fast food places attract I guess I can understand why they wouldn't wan't it open all night.

Fred A.

Yelp
Food was perfectly prepared and great for White Castle. I debated on 3 or 4 stars because the dining room was a disaster. Tables look like they have not been wiped down all day or week. All of the napkin dispensers were empty.
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
Okay, it's a White Castle. The sliders are obviously delicious and appeal to every bad part of our diet, that is obvious. The reason I give this particular place five stars is for the service. It is some of the best I have ever had at a fast food place. Every employee has been so nice and accommodating, I can't say enough good things about them. Without a doubt, the best White Castle I have ever been to.
google avatar

Mark J.

Yelp
During the weekend they have their own security guard here for the bar crowd! The food is ok but the local element is sketchy....and no, race has nothing to do with it. I once saw some yuppie white people fighting over drive-thru food. The guy in a car that had just past the window jumped out of his car and tried to grab some ladies food..out of her hands! Another time I was here I over heard some guys planning to rob some houses...right out of "Fargo" sort of. Yes, they were white! Oh, order them WITHOUT ONIONS so they will scrap off the onions. Otherwise, you will get gut rot and be sleeping alone ;)

Yelp
* Short review: Avoid this place if you are in a hurry. * Long review: Arrived at 4:00 am, I received my food at 4:45 am. "Slow Drive-Thru." After pulling up to order you cannot drive away because there is a curb locking your car in. Stuck in the line waiting, when another car pulls up behind you. I thought they would have my food ready when I pulled up to the window after 30min, so I paid expecting my food right afterward. it was another 15min wait. Not one of the people working acknowledged how long it took. So upset after a long work night I was about to through my beverage back into their window and then rub the food into a big mess on their window flick them off and drive home satisfied. But I did not because I am not that person. This Drive-thru is known as the worst one in the Twin cities. in Saint Paul they are 2 to 3 times faster...

Yelp
I'm not sure white castle is ever a 5 star dining joint, but we went here for valentines day last night and it was definitely a 5 star experience!! They go all out - you have to make a reservation, they have the place decked to the nines with v-day stuff - table cloths, candles, flowers, cute decorations on the walls. All the staff is dressed nicely in vday colors and the service is excellent - they take your order, ask you what you want for apps, drinks, dinner, etc. Fun times!! They also gave us a cheesecake on a stick for dessert and a little bag o heart shaped candies. Valentines day is a silly, spensive holiday - but white castle does it right!! The food is still the same - my faves are the chicken rings, sweet potato fries and the jalapeno cheddar burgers.
