White Castle

I brought my family here on Valentine’s Day, as I remembered that they decorate the restaurant and offer special deals. My 5 and 7 year old loved the atmosphere and the service we received was second to none. Our family enjoyed the food that was prepared quickly, as we sat at our reserved booth. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for Valentine's Day, with themed tablecloths, candles and special menus for the event. The owner and staff were pleasant and politely accommodated our food order requests. This location in particular is a must to dine in and experience the charm of the oldest burger franchise! We will definitively return and happily give them our business again.

After patiently waiting more than 20 minutes for just one car in front of me that got a huge bag worth of burgers to be cooked when I only ordered two burgers but mine 's were completely raw uncooked on the inside. So I waited all this time for them to cook somebody else's bag full of food but they didn't have time to cook my two burgers 😡 After I drove away and took one bite, the texture and taste were so off, I looked at the burger and it was completely pink on the inside. But by then I had already swallowed some of it before spitting out the rest. It was in the middle of the night and I was close to my house so I decided to deal with it the next day. I got So Sick the next day but went back to White Castle to show and warn the manager how badly cooked their burgers were. But he refused to even give me my money back saying there was no money in the register, what a tremendous and obvious Lier! Horrible customer service all around! This Awful place, their policy and the workers are all Completely Incompetent. They don't even care if you get sick. Avoid at all costs, unless you want to end up in the hospital with food poisoning !!!

The last time I was at White Castle, the only change I noticed was how much more friendly and professional the employees are. UPDATE: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2024, 9:36PM: Last night, my life partner and I went to this White Castle for a quick dinner. The Shrimp Nibblers were back, and that made him happy. I was very happy to see the soda dispenser machine was operational again. The only thing that I thought was different were the crew; they all looked new to me, and they all did their jobs very well. UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2023, 11:11PM: I noticed no changes. The staff remains professional and friendly. The sliders are still good, and the 1921 Sliders are delicious, as are the Cheddar Cheese Rings. UPDATE: THURSDAY, MAY 25, 2023, 10:20PM: My life partner went a little while ago to dine in. The only change I noticed was some items are listed on the menu above the area near the soda machine. The service remains fast and friendly, and the staff remains professional and friendly, too. UPDATE: FRIDAY, MARCH 3, 2023, 12:01AM: The food remains good, the soda machine is fantastic and the service my life partner and I received earlier today was better than ever. UPDATE: MONDAY, JULY 4, 2022: My life partner and I stopped in to this White Castle on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after 5PM. Both of us had not eaten at White Castle in a while, and had a craving for it. The service remains quick, and the employees are professional and friendly. We had no problems with our order, of any kind. Good food. Cheap eats. It works!!

Most delicious junk food In the planet!!!! I had a variety of 6 sliders and wasn’t even hungry. 3 ladies working there, very nice & courteous staff. Nice and clean: front, dining and all the way to the bathroom. Thanks

Cheese sliders has no onions and cheese wasn't melted. An employee's kids were wrestling and running around so maybe they weren't focusing on making the food.

Do I need to write a review for this place? It is just the mecca of all fast food places. It was a sacred pilgrimage that I shared with my two daughters. Sorry vegans! We had to get a suitcase of those burgers as well as the CHICKEN RINGS! BASICALLY A CHICKEN DONUT WITH A WHOLE IN THE MIDDLE. Got some fried shrimp as well! Shut the front door....it was a long drive from New Jersey to Boston and I wasn't stopping!

I tried to do a survey online but I didn’t have a sale number because I ordered online. However, my order was ready on time at 10:01 pm and the gentleman who did my order Bryan was very kind, polite and well mannered. He asked me how I was doing, made sure he gave me the correct order by reading back what I ordered, asked how much ice I wanted and to top it off I was about to drive off with my food and he asks me if I wanted any sauces I was soooo shocked because other food places like McDonald and Wendy’s don’t ask anything that Bryan did I loved how he just communicated with me and was just on point with EVERYTHING!!!!!! Very consistent my past complaint was they don't speak very well English but if you get beyond that it's white castles . It is what it is I just wish the food was not so expensive with their prices as high as they are, you could go anywhere and spend your money and get a better meal. My favorite is the chocolate milkshake and chicken rings and french fries.

For what it is, which is a bite size greasy sandwich to satisfy either a craving or a hangover. It really is one of the best things around unique to Jersey. Setting my expectations straight and knowing what this joint is all about the burgers are what they are meant to be. Love my sandwiches with pickles and cheese. The chicken rings are of course delicious and the fries are on point. Not no McDonalds fries but can't beat the family pack of 20 white castles, chicken rings and fries for only $23. We had a great experience with the service as the gentleman that took the order was friendly and courteous. Please don't come inside thinking it's a white cloth , jazzy restaurant. It's a fast food expect to be greasy kind of place inside. No comments on the bathrooms since I didn't go inside of one.

My mother worked for White Castle for over 20+ years...this location is so unprofessional it's disgusting....they are ALWAYS OUT OF EVERYTHING...they change the whenever they feel...it's suppose to be 24 hours but at a certain they only allow you to order what's easy for Cheeseburgersthem...the staff is always short and rude...by far the worst location I've ever been too.

My very first White Castle experience came about because of my teenage brother's obsession with the Harold & Kumar movie that popularized the burger chain. His restaurant choice betrays his mature, sophisticated palate; this is the same kid who dragged me to try SakaMai's $85 Wagyu Katsu Sandwich in the Lower East Side last Spring! I'm impressed -- almost 10 of us placed our orders on one receipt & only one item was missing, which an employee quickly corrected. I'd never seen, let alone eaten a White Castle slider (some people in my group had tried the grocery store frozen ones) so I was shocked at how thin the beef patty was, but those in my group who ate them seemed to like them. The Crispy Chicken Breast with Cheese combo came two sliders to an order, but I couldn't finish the second. Though I thought they were quite good, I was at my limit of fried food between not-sufficiently-crunchy onion rings & fried pickles that had too high a breading-to-pickle ratio. Their Vanilla Shake was thick like soft serve & was devoid of any flavor. An extremely heavy meal (I didn't expect anything less.) Happy to partake with my peoples, but I'll leave the White Castle visits to Harold & Kumar, & to impressionable teenagers!

White Castle Tragedy: Drive up to white castle after craving some mozzarella sticks. Get on the incredibly long drive thru line. Spot the signs that say "Open 24 Hours. Dining room open for take out." Score! Get off the drive thru line and park car. Walk to door. It's locked. Walk to other door. Also locked. Ask an employee who came outside "hey is the inside open?". Receive a Mutombo finger wag indicating the negative response. Notice the drive thru line is even longer by this point and I've lost my spot. Walk to car and drive away. No White Castle tonight. End.

I used to eat White Castle four decades ago. Thought I would try it last night with my husband. Some of the worse food around. Never again!

Drove all the way from mass it was amazing I got a 30 box 10 of everything itt was sooo good and it was fresh

I don't care what anybody says I love this white castle I've been coming here for decades I've never had a problem with my order I've never had to wait a long time and I've always gotten what I wanted I've never actually been inside I've always done the drive-through I had it yesterday my stomach can only handle just a couple of them before he gets upset Not bad at all

I was looking for something to eat and found a White Castle; wow, I've never been to a White Castle maybe I should check it out. This White Castle is New Jersey Smart plus menu items have cheese atop, I'm surprised the order taker didn't have cheese on his head. The place is clean because there's no other customers. The noncheese Chicken Rings and Onion Rings faired well wile I fought I'd return.

So if you are in the restaurant u can add to your order after u pay but you can't do that if you're in the drive thru says the manager, elsa, u made me go around again. Customer service is dead

As far as I can remember, this is my first time visiting this White Castle location. I stopped by to get a quick meal with my husband and to get a Crave Case for an event later that day for the big boxing fight. I had some coupons and experienced no trouble using them. One of them was for a buy one, get one on any #1-6 White Castle meal. The cashier informed me that I could mix and match but I stuck with the classic #1 (original burger, fries/onion rings and drink) and asked for the burgers with cheese and no pickles. I also ordered the new veggie burger with honey mustard sauce. My food was ready about 4-5 minutes later and everything was fresh and warm. My husbands burgers did not have pickles in them as I had ordered, but my batch of burgers still had pickles. I picked them out so it was not a big deal, but definitely inconvenient. Our fries and onion rings were fresh and hot! The veggie burger was okay (kinda smushy) and the sauce helped give it flavor. When we ordered our Crave Case, they got the order correct. They were pickle-free!! We also used a $3 coupon on them and there were no problematic issues using it. I observed that others were also using coupons for their meals too. The cashier helped to explain the coupons to the other customers because they couldn't understand the language on it. He also went above and beyond by helping advise on family orders when they wanted to buy a package deal but didn't know how to come up with one that was affordable. He was very friendly and accommodating! The customers in front of me were not easy, yet somehow, he was able to keep everything together. I also like this White Castle because it doesn't have bulletproof glass like the location at Journal Square in Jersey City. The place appears to be clean and well-maintained. They offer excellent customer service and really appear to be happy to help out their customers.

I know everyone from the East Coast says this is better than In N Out, but it isn't because the two aren't comparable. White Castle is a different type of burger joint, but it's still delicious. I found myself wanting one a few weeks after I returned to LA. Definitely, a late night snack... Actually, I'm still thinking about those damn delicious little baby burgers...MMMM....

This White Castle ALWAYS tries to up charge you if you're not paying attention for the fries and the drink. The meal comes with small fries and a small drink but they will give you mediums and up charge you without asking. The staff is very rude. We asked for a number one, steamed, with no cheese. The lady asked "with or without cheese?" My husband said "no cheese." When we got our order, the burgers had cheese on them! He kindly told the lady at the window we asked for no cheese and she just stares at him with a rude expression on her face. She closes the window and tells another lady. The other lady comes to the window and my husband tells her the same thing. She gives us this face . We asked for our money back and went elsewhere.

I love White Castles always have, even as a kid in the 1970s. I love their Jalapeno Cheeseburgers, with a side of Chicken Rings. I cannot believe some of the reviews on here, with people who have never tried White Castle. They've been around for like a thousand years, come on. Actually since 1921. And they were super cheap in the 70s snd 80s like 50 cents a burger and even cheaper before that.

Bad service ! I ordered 6 burgers and I only got 5 ! I asked for some sources for the fries, but I got nothing only naked fries! ALSO my fries looked like lost half of them when I got them. First time order food in this restaurant, very bad experience

Now if i were lazy, and believe me i can be, I would just copy and paste my review for the White Castle in Jersey City. But i'm not lazy, at least not today. Out of all the white castles i've been to, this is my personal favorite. I used to live in North Bergen on 46th Street, so this was walking distance for me. And every two weeks or so, I would come here to get some grub. Its never crowded, its actually very clean, and the service staff was very polite. I usually came on sunday mornings and I would talk to this one person, I forget her name. She's in her 50's and she was very talkative but very nice. I could listen to her all day. But i digress... again, two thumbs up for murder burgers, North Bergen stylee!

Much improved over 2017 visit. Staff and food marvelous. Need paper in men's room but location is fairly clean.

I went to this white castle after 3am. I know You are thinking a harold and kumar adventure. WRONG! i was at a TV studio late and i got a call from my friend who works for the NY redbulls soccer team who was flying back on a red eye. i told her i was going to stop over her place after i was done shooting. She suggested white castle. I completely forgot what she told me to order her. so i saw this box of 50 mini burgers for like $30 bucks and i got her the whole box. i think i ate 4 and she ate 2. Her reaction when i was standing there with a cardboard suitcase of white castle was priceless. If you ever want to shock someone take$30 bucks and go to white castle. I don't frequent white castle often. I do enjoy a good belly bomb every once in awhile. 1st off the food is super cheap. you can get a full meal for $5. includes your drink 3-4 burgers and a onion rings or fries you cant beat that. I usually get the mini burgers when i go to white castle and every time i have gone. I make the mistake of ordering with my eyes and not my stomach. Just a heads up, If you have never been to white castle order sparingly. I usually get the 6 burgers and if im lucky can eat 4. they look so small but are so heavy in your stomach. I call them (Belly Bombs) because after you eat them they hit you like a rock super heavy. You want to take a nap and call it a day after you eat here. when i got to my friends house the burgers were not hot anymore but the box was very hot when i got them. also even at 3am, 50 white castle burgers takes awhile. I recommend going into the store if you are going to place a big order. overall this place was nice for a white castle i enjoyed the burgers and slept well after. i will be back here next time. On my drive from Boston to Florida we NEEDED very very badly to stop at a White Castle, didn't care where, just, we knew that it was something that had to be done. So I found this little gem in Union City which was very interesting in itself! Also, I tried to take a pic of the sign but it didn't come out..it said "Valentines Reservations Welcome" or something close, as if! I totally would reserve!! So we don't have any in or near Boston and I would drive the 4 hours to Union City with the parking lot to eat here. The chicken rings are fantastic, get the fluorescent yellow dijon to go with it and the BBQ...sooo good. Also the BBQ pulled pork slider is really good as well. I love them, I wish they would get the clue and come up to New England, there are tons of fans WAITING.

Ugh! I'm sorry white castle.... Ok How should I start...? While on our trip to the sunshine state, I was cranky and needed to eat something. I knew white castle was on the way so my friend plugged it into the not-so-reliable GPS and it brought us to this little semi-precious gem. Yes, semi-precious. If I didn't have "Krystal" afterwards I would of given it a whopping 3 stars! At first glance, I was in love- The sign captured my attention- "Make reservations for Valentines NOW". How precious. We parked and went in and I felt pretty darn lucky being there because I've only consumed what the local grocery store had to offer... After repeating myself a few times to the lady taking my order and with the help from the store manager, we received the food (and no I did not rate this place based on the ease of ordering). No, it wasn't terrible by any means, but I was sort of unimpressed once I got over the whole loving the novelty idea. The burgers tasted exactly like the frozen ones you buy in the store as did the fries (which you can't buy in the store, but Ore-ida crinkle cut would of been along the lines of eating the same thing) Terrible? No! But, nothing to write home about either! Two good points: 1- Selection is better. Different kinds of burgers, miniature sized typical BBQ sandwiches, etc 2-Chicken Rings. I have nothing bad to say about them. They are tasty and fun to eat! Above all else- I really like it when a food chain offers something I've never heard of or something you just can't get anywhere else. They saved the place in my eyes. So, for all the people who always hear about White castle or see it on T.V...... Don't get all depressed because you feel you'll never get to experience the taste... Just go and buy some some frozen ones, a nice bag of Ore-Ida crinkle cuts, pop the Harold and Kumar movie in, and there you have it! You now know what it's like to visit White Castle!

Heaven on earth! Those crispy onions..they just..melt in your mouth.. Juicy old-fashioned little burgers that scream out In your mouth. Orgasmic. There! I said it!

Dropped in Saturday with mom and a friend on our way to make a visit. Instead of cheeseburgers we order plain just because I did not want to have cheese. Which is strange, as I always enjoy cheese on my burger. That lack of cheese gives me the White Castle experience I remember. The tasty, meaty onion flavor topped with ketchup and pickle. Mmm. We share an order of the fish nibblers, which as you can imagine, tastes like fried fish. The fries and onion rings are typical. There is no tartar sauce on hand at the condiment table, which really would boost the nibbler experience. But I digest.

Always hot and delicious. A wide menu too choose from. My favorite is the Jalapeño Visiting from Tacoma, Wa. I wish the west coast had a White Castle instead of White Castle in the frozen food section at the grocery store.

Place was so packed! The burgers were well made. The White Castle burger is a great place to start. For the amount of people there out order and service went smoothly. Only issue was finding a place to sit at the restaurant. A delicious spot for quality burgers!

I am just happy I got to try a legit White Castle burger.. I have to admit, there really isn't anything that special about the burger.. It's like your normal sliders.. Except a little greasier and possibly even smaller than average sliders.. But the fact that I'm from the CA and we don't have White Castle.. I just had to try it while I'm over in the East Coast... During my trip to NY, I really thought I wasn't going to be able to try White Castle.. It just wasn't on the top of the priority list of things that I must try.. So I was a little bummed thinking I wouldn't be able to try it.. (I blame Harold and Kumar!! Made White Castle so popular!) lol.. Anyway.. As we were leaving our place in NJ to move to a hotel in NY... Our taxi driver turned the corner.. And like movies.. Where a light from the sky shines down on something you've been dreaming and wanting... That same light shined down and that sound went through my head Ahhhhh! Just like in movies!! Lol! I might be exaggerating a bit but HEY! My mind.. And it happened haha! We had to ask the taxi driver if we could run over and get some real quick and luckily our cab driver was nice and didn't mind.. Ahh.. Finally got our hands on some yummy little bite size burgers.. I thought it was pretty good.. But I would still say in&out is still better. But it's just the fact that I got to try it.. Made me happy!

We took the train from new york just to visit this place. I liked that it wasn't crowded. We had just watched Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle so of course this pit stop was a MUST. The sandwiches were cute. I personally liked the chicken sandwiches more. I think I ate 15 by myself. Not because they were good.....but because I can!! =D *chomp chomp*

You get what you paid for. Mini greasy burgers, chicken rings, mozzarella sticks, clam strips, and sacks of french fries that fill you up if you are smoking doobies and getting the late night munchies after watching Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle on a Friday night.

I like the service at this location , they seem to fry the mozzarella sticks and clam strips perfectly here .

My sis absolutely had to check out White Castle during our east coast trip unfortunately we don't have White Castle in the north west. I thought the chicken sliders were average. I enjoyed the fries and chicken rings.

Food is good place very clean some how too many crackhead begging for money rite by the door not good

The food is never Fresh , bathroom is always dirty but the workers are friendly tho. Drive through is average time but if the food tasted fresh this would be the spot to go at all times. Wouldn't waste much $$ on this spot. Price is average

The service is fast with friendly polite staff, food is pretty good. sometimes they forget to put some of your order in the bag. Make sure all your food is in the bag before you leave the store, Overall good service and food. I find ordering online is much better.

I went to the location in Harlem a few days ago.. The food was good but the service was really slow!

It was was so good. Employees were kind even though there were SEVERAL rude customers while we were there. Mostly a woman who ordered the wrong food and took it out on the cashier. Very impressed with the composure of the staff through this. Awesome job. Not everyone respects food service workers. But they have a hard job. Especially trying to cater to ignorant guests who weren't raised right:)

A once and awhile stop for me when I am in the Union City area looking for an inexpensive lunch and sometimes after doing some local shopping. The drive thru is pretty well managed as there have never been any mishaps with what I had ordered. There is no long wait to be served either. The food is delicious and the drinks are cold, so cold. I like places like this where I understand what I am receiving exactly for a reasonable price. Parking is no concern if you choose to go inside to order and eat it there. I will return based upon such good experiences.

I went around 12am today, on a Monday, and literally spent probably a half an hour starting from when I pulled up to the ordering box (there was no one in front of me) to the time they gave me my food. They had me pull up past the drive thru and wait next to the door for 10 min. get it together white castle. two thumbs up on those dessert sticks doe
