Damn this place was good. It's at the end of a dead end Street with plenty of parking. So many types of tacos! Employees were very nice. Tables were abundant and even more so outside. Tons of umbrellas for if you wanted some shade. Chips and queso were great to me. Would definitely recommend!

Loved this taco shop! I'm from Dallas and was just visiting. So glad to have found this place! The atmosphere inside and out is so quaint and fun. Beautiful outdoor setting. The food was so good! I had the (from left to right) Mexican street corn, lamb gyro, crisp pork belly. All were fantastic but that pork belly was quite literally the best street taco I've ever had. After the initial crunch of the pork belly outer coating, it melted in my mouth. Amazing.

Diverse taco options. Purchase singles to share and experience the many options. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. Leashed dogs are welcome outside.

We usually visit the location by the river but this dumba$$ storm did something terrible to it. This location is cool too though. Food of course was delicious and the location is cool. Me and my wife sat outside on a beautiful so it was all good for us. As far as recommending, I will always recommend White Duck

Great food and ambiance at this Mexican restaurant. The tacos are creative and unique, with a wide variety to choose from. Plenty of sides too, including chips and salsa, queso dip, street corn salad, and soup, among others. I loved my tofu taco and bean & cheese taco. There’s plenty of outside seating in a spacious patio area, with shaded picnic tables, plus about a dozen tables inside. Convenient location right across from the high school, and just off the street. Parking can be tight when it’s busy, but it’s well worth the time and effort to find a spot…the food really is delicious.

Having visiting multiple locations this one tends to be one of my favorites. Great variety for picky eaters and tacos lovers all the like. It’s low key has less tourists and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Always a great funky atmosphere and well crafted tacos. Group favorites Bangkok Shrimp, Cajun Shrimp Grits, and Thai Peanut Chicken. Also the chips and queso were a perfect match for those who just want a simple bite to eat. Cheers!!

We were really interested in this fusion restaurant. I love the duck theme and simple aesthetic. Unfortunately, they might have been training new chefs when we went in. Only the duck taco and shrimp taco were edible and tasty. The bulgogi taco tasted only of salt. the fish taco sauce was also over salted and had a weird cinnamon taste. The jerk chicken taco had no seasoning and a too sweet relish. The street corn appetizer tasted like it should , elote, but was undercooked. The queso was tasty but the chips were very stale. I mentioned to one of the workers to check the salt ratios and hopefully it was fixed. We'd like to try here again when they work out the kinks.

Don't expect traditional Mexican food at White Duck. However, you CAN expect a collection of fantastic tacos! I love the Korean Bulgogi beef, the pork belly, and the Buffalo Chicken tacos.

Really good taco place with many options. I love to creativity in the options as well. Their soup is incredible and I love the metal beverage cups. Really easy to get into and the food is good. Give it a try!

This is the most adorable taco shop and I found it on Yelp! It has outside picnic tables so Freckles can sit with us. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. We got a chicken masala taco, a lamb gyro taco and a duck taco! The last one was Dave's choice, I love my little duckie friends and I rather not eat them But their choices of tacos are extensive and a very popular place for families to eat!

So much fun. Great food. Seems to be a line to order at most times of the day. It moves quickly. Five tacos for 2 people is enough. 4 may work. Cool bldg. lots of outside seating next to the river.

Definitely the most unique tacos I've ever had. Not saying a lot since I don't eat tacos that often but they were all very good, unique flavor combinations and of course catchy names. I've been back several times. If you are doing stuff in the area and don't have time for sit down dinner before an event it's a good place to go. Very quick in and out.

We miss visiting Asheville, our family moved from here but we came for a visit and we love White Duck! Today is a great day to sit outside and enjoy unique flavors and friendly staff. We had BLT, fish, lamb, Beef, shrimp and chicken! All good, chips and queso also great!!!!

I am a BIG fan of White Duck Taco- a go to place for a quick meal- the line is never to long, They have several locations. so depending where we're at it is never too far away. The food is the main thing of course, and there is a great selection of tacos, my wife does not eat meat, but there is a tofu taco that she says is great! I prefer the pork taco and the fried chicken with bacon lettuce and tomato. You order at the counter- get a number and the staff brings the food to your table pretty fast, The workers are great, friendly and efficient. Outdoor seating is picnic benches ...so so there, Dog friendly, yes!~ Could do a better job providing water for the critters.

The bahn mi taco is amazing, I usually stop in once or twice a week to get my fix. I always pair it with the salsa trio (the pink salsa is the best-it has a little kick and a lot of flavor). If you are lucky, your order will be taken by Lola! She is friendly and patient and a steward of customer service, they are lucky to have her! Bonus: super dog friendly patio and great outdoor space!

Another carry-out lunch for the office! On Friday's we usually pick a lunch spot, and my friend/co-worker picks up the order on her way into the office. White Duck Taco Shop was our lunch of choice last week. It's taken me a few days to write this review because I've been trying to figure out how to word this properly. We ordered a total of four different tacos and some chips with salsa. I'm not sure if a 'flight' of salsa is an accurate term, the order came with three kinds of salsa and all three were delicious! The chips were so-so, but it doesn't matter to me too much when I have multiple salsa options!! The tacos were: Thai, BLT, Shrimp and Gyro. I ordered the gyro taco (I love a lamb gyro sandwich) and it seemed like an interesting combination...taco and gyro? Sign me up!! My friend chose the other three tacos, she is pregnant, so the food cravings can be intense. Should have known when I opened the taco labeled lamb and there was fruit on the top that something was amiss. I began eating the taco anyways, and quickly discovered it was chicken with a peanut-type sauce. No biggie, things get mis-labeled. The taco was good, just not what I was craving after dreaming of a gyro taco! My friend was enjoying her tacos, she loved the salsas as well!! We were pretty much done eating when we discovered the taco labeled lamb was actually her Thai taco and her taco labeled Thai was my lamb gyro taco. The mystery was finally solved!! Soooo, I posed the question to my friend as to how I write my Yelp review and explain that we ate each other's tacos!! We laughed about it ALL weekend!!

Not your average taco shop! This place has all kinds of meals served as tacos... barbecue , peanut chicken ... something for everyone. Picnic tables outside

My favorite place to eat in Asheville! Tacos are all amazing and I can confidently say that because we've tried them all. They also have great drinks. We both loved the watermelon sangria. Our family enjoys sitting outside on a warm day and playing cornhole. Great setup, service and quiet location.

Love this place! It's a go to spot for me and my celiac husband. We drive here often (1.5hr drive) because the food is bomb, atmosphere is fun, and the staff are so sweet. The Gluten Free items are clearly marked. Great date night place! My favorite it the General Tso tacos and chips and queso!

Really great ambiance! A lot of outdoor seating, by a river. The tacos are really good. I had the shrimp, fish, and bahm mi. All of them were delicious. The drinks are also delicious.

Maybe for others, but just not my place. I can't stand it when a Mexican (or any Latin food for that matter) get effin' BURIED in aioli. It's a sign they haven't good a good taco, so they drown it in spicy mayo and hope the hipsters don't notice. Well, I'm not hipster and I noticed. It smoked me too in that the menu lists aioli on some items and not others. So I picked tacos without aioli listed - and still got aioli. Guess I should have spoke up, but they were busy, and screwed up wifey's order, so would it have mattered? Wifey ate what we received but was underwhelmed too.

I want to know the secret behind White Duck's jackfruit. It's the best preparation I've ever had at a restaurant. Better yet, you can substitute it on any taco on the menu, which allows the meatless eaters to try any taco. Not sure which one? Just ask the staff, and they'll guide in the right direction. Speaking of staff, kudos to the team for speediness of service. I received my black bean and jackfruit tacos quite quickly.

The shrimp creole and grits taco is awesome! We have some standards that we love, and this location I was perfect. The people working the counter were very friendly and the service was quick (probably because we were the only ones there at 4:30 in the afternoon). The atmosphere is also great. The huge pink flamingo is pretty cool! Definitely coming back here!!

Tasty chips but WAYYYYY too salty (and I love salt) Overall, the positives farrr outweigh the negatives, and I want to try all the kinds of tacos (that don't have cilantro).

Ask any of the locals in the food industry where to eat and White Duck Taco is always mentioned. We did try to go to their West Asheville location and sadly it was closed due to COvid. But we visited the Arden location which is more suburb than urban and that's ok. Order any taco or two and you can't go wrong. Portions are big and margaritas are excellent.

I found the food here to be decent. Can't say anything was delicious but also can say anything was off putting. I'd forgo baking this place a must. The portions are huge as two tacos should be enough to please any sized appetite. The chips are served with three different sauces & the queso was by far my favorite. There's several locations across the city however I'm not convinced this is the best tacos the city has to offer.

I was given such high hopes for this place. They should rename themselves from White Duck Tacos to Expensive Hipster Tacos. The service was good. The guy are the front counter was very nice and patient as I tried to navigate the menu. If the weather is good the outside seating is great as you are on the river and get a good view. My biggest problem is the price. $5 per small taco is crazy to me. I spent almost $20 on lunch. The tacos were good overall, but they didn't have a regular classic street taco(probably would have been expensive too). It's worth it if you are looking for an interesting spin on street tacos, but expect to pay premium prices for something your not really expecting.

At $4-6 per taco they need to be Good and they were, mostly. Mostly, because their consistency was off in our experience. For example, our first pork belly taco was delicious and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed it so much we ordered another. That next one, unfortunately, came out undercooked, raw-ish and rubbery. The Thai taco was very tasty. The spicy beans were way too salty. It's an ok taco chain but nothing spectacular thanks to iffy consistency.

There's something for everyone! I go with my picky and adventurous eaters and we all come out happy. Ambience is great for kids.

Creative taco combinations, of which my favorites are the pork belly with melon rind, and the classic fish taco. They are bomb and and really raise the bar, but at ~$4.95 per taco they damn better. With 2 beers on draft, some boozy freezes, and a big outdoor picnic table-styled seating it's a great place to take a slow lunch in the summer sun, but it's just as good to-go as-well. Highly recommended.

The only reason I don't give it five stars is because of the price, but that being said, these are specialty tacos. The location of the one by the river is awesome. Super cool place to bring guests in town or if you're a tourist. Ambience is definitely five stars. The service is fast too

We have come here so many times on our visits to Asheville. All of the locations are great and the food never disappoints. Will always be a must visit when we are in town!

Some of my favorite tacos ever!! This is such a cute spot and always hits the spot. The chips and queso are a great starter and are perfect to share. Everything is a la cart here and I'd say the average person probably gets two tacos but it's hard to pick from all the yummy options! The Thai peanut chicken and bangcock shrimp are my favorites! My partners favorite is the chicken BLT. There are two locations and both are great! I highly suggest going here!

I really like white duck. Their service is wicked fast. The taco recipes are kinda adventurous and many are worth trying at least once. I have a couple menu go-tos that are just hard to beat. Casual.

The employees are rude, but the food is wonderful. I would go more often, but the staff is so unfriendly that it's not worth it. I took my 80+ year old parents, but was so embarrassed by the staff that I won't go back. With or without my parents. I don't care how good the food is, the staff there sucks.

We need to re-fuel after a day of hiking and White Duck Taco Shop was a suggestion. After reading all the wonderful reviews, it was a no brainer to make this our late lunch destination. What a great decision! I was happy to see many outdoor tables so we could soak up the sun. Staff were friendly and after placing our order at the counter, we barely made it to our table before our tacos were delivered. I opted for the Green Chile taco and the Jerk Chicken taco. Both were delicious and the perfect size. My husband and I split chips and the salsa trio, which was the perfect combination of mild to spicy salsas. I believe we might have to visit again before we leave this week!

This place came highly recommended and we were excited to try it. There's a private gravel lot next to it with parking. We walked up to a outdoor seating with plenty of picnic tables with umbrella. You walk through here to the inside to order. The gentlemen inside greeted us right away and offered some recommendation of his favorite. So we got the fish, pork belly, jerk chicken, pork belly and chicken tikka masala. The pork belly was the best with a large piece of pork belly and the pickled watermelon rind made every bite awesome. The fish was wonderful as well. A nice piece of grilled fish with wonderful salsa. However, the jerk chicken was disguising. The pineapple slaw was nice, but the chicken itself was inedible. It was dry and chewy and I couldn't even tell what kind of meat it was without looking at the menu again. I didn't even finish eating it. The tikka masala had a big piece of chicken, but also overcooked and the sauce was thin. I also got the peach mimosa and it was quite sweet. After all that, I did not have high hopes for the Mexican chocolate dessert, but it was fantastic. It had a spiced chocolate mousse on top of gooey and rich chocolate. So I only liked 50% of the tacos, but the friendly service and that dessert pushed it only 3 stars for me.

Pretty good vibe. Went there solely based on the picture of the ducks outside they put on google maps, but turns out they were just plastic , which was a bummer. Decided we would go try the food anyways. Decent price, interesting taco vibes and the people that were working there definitely knew what was up. I'm visiting Asheville with my girlfriend to see her sister for a late thanksgiving. So yeah good overall

We preferred our Shrimp Tacos. Queso was good and usual flavor. The salsa flavors were different then expected but still good.

Always enjoy eating lunch or dinner here! White Duck has such a wide variety of tacos to choose from that there is surely something for everyone. A few of my favs to get are: Bangkok Shrimp Tacos, Lamb Gyro Tacos, and Korean BBQ Tacos. They even have chips, salsa, and queso too. Not to mention, they have a selection of beer on tap including Catawba White Zombie and others. They typically have frozen margaritas or lemonades to choose from as well. This place is such a hit in my book especially after a day of hiking or tubing in Asheville!

Perfect for lunch or light dinner. Indoor or outdoor seating. Plenty of space for larger groups and families. Fast friendly service.

The black bean tacos are incredible. Service is kind and quick. A really good spot for a quick bite and kid-friendly!

The service was great! I didn't know what to expect when coming here as I was really looking for a good Mexican taco. They have an abundance of different types of tacos to choose from! I had a fish taco as well as a chicken ranch and bacon taco. They were both okay but not amazing. I would give this place another try as long as I try some of the different flavored tacos. The outside of the restaurant is beautiful but is was just a little too cold outside to enjoy it!

If you're looking for good food that comes out QUICK. Then this should be a go-to spot for you in the Arden/Asheville area. My favorite location is the one in Arden. Chips are also fresh, margaritas strong and tacos come out quick and DELICIOUS. I only wish they had quesadillas, but not a deal breaker

This is the kind of place you hear about before you even get to your travel destination - whether it be old-fashioned word of mouth or internet research. There is a reason it is on your radar. So far I have eaten at two White Duck Taco Shops in my 4 days in the Asheville area, and they may not be my last. I have tried 5 different unique tacos and I am still challenged to pick my favorite. Each is amazing and unique in its own way. Let's suffice to say that if you love tacos, you will love White Duck.

We decided to stop by White Duck Taco Shop after our half-day waterfall hike--what a great choice. We saw so many great options and selected the Zorba, Bean & Cheese, Buffalo Chicken, and Steak & Cheese tacos. All were big portions and absolutely delicious. Definitely stop by White Duck for your next taco craving!
