Portland’s Stellar Ube Treats and Desserts | Eater Portland

"North Mississippi’s White Elephant Asian Fusion is true to its name with fun mashups like the pho’rench dip and the Thaiger Woods, a half-lemonade, half-Thai iced tea homage to the Arnold Palmer. The food cart also serves Lao classics and Thai mango sticky rice in colorful variations using pandan and ube for extra pizzaz."

Portland’s Top Pandan Treats | Eater Portland

"This North Mississippi food cart might have fusion in its name, but the menu isn’t a free-for-all. Most dishes either lean Lao, Thai, or Vietnamese, including pandan mango sticky rice — the familiar coconut milk-drizzled Thai dessert — kicked-up with the addition of pandan essence to give the glutinous rice a brilliant green color and pleasing aroma."

Google
Completely satisfied my Lao food cravings in Portland! It was so damn good, we literally ate everything but it was spicy! The jerky was a little salty but the flavors were amazing! You cannot go wrong with their food. Top notch and good size portions!

Google
White Elephant catered for our wedding, and not only was their food amazing but the WE team was the best! Even after our wedding, many of our guests are still raving to us about it being the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. The food was beautiful and so thoughtfully presented! We had mango sticky rice, Thai tea, and Ube-BAE for our dessert and refreshments and they were a hit! Jen was so sweet and extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process. We had some vegan/vegetarian guests and she was able to accommodate all of our requests. She was always quick to respond when I had any questions and her thoroughness was one of the deciding factors when I chose White Elephant to be our caterer. Her team was also wonderful on the day of. One of the servers offered to make a plate for my husband and me so we didn’t have to go grab them ourselves and they were checking on us the entire evening to make sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend the WE team for any weddings or events or even if you’re not in need of a caterer, then definitely stop by for Jen’s delicious food!

Google
Hands down best lao food cart in Portland! I’ve been to many Lao places in Portland but this one is my fave. The papaya salad is always on point, the right amount of pa dek and spicyness. Their signature chicken feet and salmon belly is so flavorful and a must try! Highly recommend!

Google
Best authentic papaya and cucumber salad in town! I’ll drive all across town to get it! Oh yeah everything else is amazing too. The family that runs this is place is so friendly and warm. They are invaluable to our community.

I originally was going to go to Matt's BBQ next to this truck, but; they had sold out. Thank goodness! This place is wonderful! Some of the most flavorful food cart food I've ever eaten; She could only get better in a permanent location. The lemongrass Thai peanut sauce on the chicken was transcending... It has so much flavor. Simply delicious. The Laotian beef jerky was also very good. Deep Asian fusion flavors of garlic and fish sauce with a bit of heat on the back note. The coconut shrimp were good, but I did not care for the remulade dipping sauce. I felt it over garliced and took away from the shrimp. I give everything a 9 in total. I'll definitely be back.

Google
Crab bites ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - perfect to snack on - good pick if you like creamy + fried - love the sweet chili sauce Peanut chicken ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - oh my GOD - my new favorite comfort food - it isn't too rich, it's just perfect. Green Thai iced tea ⭐⭐ - a little too sweet for me Coming back for the green Thai iced tea

Google
I ordered take out from here. I put "Mild" for spice level and emphasized it in the notes. I got my food and it was inedible. The spice was the complete opposite of mild. There were actual pepper seeds sprinkled over the top. I called the restaurant to see if they would make it right. The woman I spoke to said "just ask for a refund from whatever site you ordered from." And hung up. Did not offer to fix their mistake...meanwhile my dinner was ruined and I could not eat it. No one in my household could stomach eating how spicy it was. It would have been an easy fix. I ordered via Postmates, so I contacted them and they wouldn't refund me either. They said it was up to the restaurant to make it right...and you can see how helpful they were in that regard. I was very disappointed in the level of service and quality of the food. If they had offered to remake it, I would have given this place a second chance. Now I will never go back thanks to this experience.

Google
I wanted to like this food. It looked appetizing at first. Unfortunately, it was pretty much inedible and/or poorly made. I live in Portland and this was my first time trying this place. It's by far the worst food I've ever had in Portland. Let me explain. The sticky rice came in a Ziploc bag and was not even edible (see photos). It stuck to everything, even the box. I would have had to eat the whole ball in one bite but i didn't want to do that because it was flavorless. Just add sauce then? Well, the sauces tasted like regular grocery store bottled sauce.... Nothing exciting. It gets worse with the meatballs? I had to double check the menu when i got home to make sure it said "beef meatballs". I have never seen any meatball (not even a frozen one) that looked and tasted like this. It was hard to cut with a serrated knife!! The taste was not even identifiable. They were tough, spongy and not edible. The fried dough balls were nothing special and to add insult to an already horrible meal, the powdered? sugar was in rock hard clumps. The sugar was so hard I couldn't even crush it between my fingers. I ate the pot stickers but I could have bought frozen food and saved 30 bucks. If you're visiting Portland, take my advice and eat somewhere (anywhere) else.

Yelp
I didn't order any of the main food but saw they were serving beignets and just had to try them. They are warm and slightly crunchy outside but have a soft texture inside and almost reminds me of the ones in New Orleans. You can even choose an ube dipping sauce instead of chocolate and some others as well. The food looks good here and I wouldn't doubt it is. Definitely try the beignets. Great location with variety here too along with other other carts around in the vicinity.

Yelp
Solid and great tasting meal here! I tried the Spam & Egg which gives you fried spam covered in teriyaki sauce, an over medium egg, kimchi, and green onions all over white rice. The spam was super good and the sauce really added to its yummy flavor. Kimchi was also great. If you've ever bought that brand of kimchi from Costco, that's what it tasted like! I didn't end up eating too much of the rice (you get a generous portion underneath everything) but it was still a delicious and filling meal! I mostly at the top layer of rice where the various juices from the egg, kimchi, and teriyaki sauce had saturated it. The woman who took my order was super chill and kind too. I ordered around 4pm on a Friday and I'd say a little under half the outdoor sitting was full so not busy at all! I'd love to come back and try the beignets she has! But overall, it was a fairly basic meal, filling, and at a good price! Worth checking out!

Yelp
Excellent portions for their rice dishes, worth the price. We ordered the waterfall beef and the salt & pepper shrimp. Delicious flavors and seasoned well. The mango in the sticky rice was sour, but the dessert itself tasted good overall. I wish the Thai Iced Tea had less ice though, that was the only thing on the menu that didn't feel was worth the price. We also ordered a Medium spicy Papaya Salad but our mouth was on FIRE. Literally. I didn't know how to get through the dish without water. It was also a tad bit too salty for my taste. I would order here again though!
google avatar

Smaly K.

Yelp
There were just so many things on the menu I wanted to try, but also wanted to try other foods from other food trucks. So, I finally decided on the Spam Rice Bowl, Uncle O.G.'s Sticky Icky Wings, and Salt & Pepper Chicken Feet. The Spam Rice Bowl was good, your average spam and rice. The wings were tasty. The chicken feet had good flavor, but wouldn't order that again. It was very difficult to eat; too tough. Could barely get any kind of meat or skin or anything off of it.

Yelp
We came here solely for the beignets after seeing the group of people next to us eating it - it looked SO good so we couldn't miss out obviously lol. The beignets were a hit! They came with either a pandan or ube glaze, to which we chose the pandan. Admittedly, the pandan tasted like just sweetened condensed milk with a minimal hint of pandan, but this didn't take away from our experience at all since the beignets were just too darn good. The powdered sugar was generous and the beignets were light and fluffy with a crunch on the outside when you bit it. Dipped with the pandan glaze, it became super addicting to eat. Our group of 4 ate the entire thing in a matter of minutes lol. The pho french dip seemed like an interesting concept, but we didn't have a chance to try it since we had already eaten at the neighboring food carts. The ambiance of the general area was super cute - lots of picnic tables to eat and a wide range of options to dine at.

S H.

Yelp
I ordered ahead for dinner with friends and everything was perfect, wonderfully fresh and delicious. Spring rolls, Nam Khao, waterfall beef, lemongrass peanut chicken - my friends loved every bite!
google avatar

Angel P.

Yelp
I love that their food cart is in a food cart area, so there's cute outdoor seating with some covered. It's located on a busy street with multiple options of food/bars. The person that took our order was very nice. Thai tea can be so hit or miss & they nailed it! It tasted perfect. Just the right amount of tea & sweetness. I got the salt & pepper calamari which was good & fixed my craving for it. It was a tad bit too salt for my liking & there were some clumps of salt. My partner got the fried salmon belly which he loved! I tried some of it & it was delicious. Overall, a yummy place to try while you enjoy the outdoors too!

Yelp
White Elephant is part of a really nice food cart pod on Mississippi. The location itself is really nice and definitely always pretty busy with a good energy. There's so many options to pick from here, but I always keep coming back to White Elephant. I'm not at all well verse in Laotian food, but this really surprised me! I had the Laotian beef jerky which was very tender, moist, and packed full of flavor. When I hear "beef jerky", my mind conjures images of dry, tough strips of meat sitting in a gas station store for who knows how long. While these are still strips of beef, they're anything but that. Major downside about this place is the hours. I can't count how many times I've swung by here to grab something and they're closed. I think they're closed Monday through Wednesday and the latest they stay open is 7pm... which to me is usually when I prefer to eat dinner. Other than that, highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Fried salmon belly. Stupid good. It's crunchy, salty, fatty, decadent, and straight up addicting. We got the plate for $17 and it came with a huge portion of fish! I think it would be too rich for me to finish the whole plate by myself, so I would recommend getting this and something else either here or at one of the neighboring food carts to split with another person. The fish sauce complemented the salmon so well! I wish there was more rice as the salmon was so salty and also that they added a pickled element to the plate. Overall, one of the best bites I've had in Portland!

Yelp
Flew in from Cali and I drove all across town to pick up some mango dipping sauce for my SIL only to find out the item had to be pre-ordered at least 24-48 hours in advance. Low and behold they didn't even have papaya salad on tbeir menu. Prices were pretty steep. We ordered the coconut mangoe sticky rice and green Thai tea, nothing special about it. This place is VERY fusion! If you are looking for authentic Laos food. I do not recommend driving out this way....

Yelp
I've been a harsh critic of Asian food in the Portland area, especially when it comes to Asian fusion. I romped around the food carts here and didn't find too many things I wanted to try. I was hesitant but ended up getting the Pho'rench Dip Sandwich along with the Dirty Thai Tea (Thai Tea with Coffee). Definitely did not regret that decision! The sandwich (with steak) was amazing and the pho broth it came with was piping hot! The meat is moist and juicy and the ingredients and sauce were a perfect compliment. It's a bit messy to eat but worth it. The Dirty Thai Tea was also delicious. However, I don't think there's too much coffee in it. (I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine and didn't really feel any jitters after having downed it.)

Yelp
I'm Lao, so I always love to support the Lao community. Found this place on Instagram so I wanted to give it a try while visiting Portland. Came here on a Sunday, they open at noon. Ordered the waterfall beef and Lao style papaya salad. Waterfall beef had a tasty flavor but the meat was too tough and hard to chew. The onions and green onions needed to be cooked a little longer. The Lao style papaya was a total disappointment. I asked for very spicy and it was not spicy at all and way too sour, way too much lemon.

Yelp
Went to White Elephant the other day for a snack and saw the beignets on the menu. I love pandan and made the difficult decision to pass on the pandan dipping sauce in favor of ube. The beignets were amazing! The order came with 9 or 10 fried to order, warm, fluffy, and soft beignets that were perfect on their own piled high with powered sugar. The ube sauce took them up a notch as well. Staff was extremely friendly and food came out fast. Can't wait to come back and work on the rest of the menu.

Yelp
The sweetest folks run this food cart located in a great spot in Prost Marketplace. Lots of menu choices for good eating, with some vegetarian and vegan options too. My friend and I got the honey tofu (spicy in the best way) and teriyaki tofu (salty and savory). She's not a big tofu fan but this fried tofu won her over. I'm already a tofu lover. You might be tempted not to get a drink, but don't follow that instinct. Get something. Thai tea, an ube drink, whatever. They're huge and delicious.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Overall pretty tasty! The nem khao, a traditional Lao dish with crispy rice, meat and veggies, was really tasty. Not exactly like others I've had, but still delicious. The only odd thing was the large chunks pale sausage - I'm used to cooked ground meat. The two drinks we got, the green Thai tea and ube, were not great though. They both tasted fairly artificial and not much like the flavors advertised. But they are fun colors. The beignets were AMAZING though. Perfectly fried, coated in powdered sugar and with a side of sweetened condensed milk. Highly recommend the ube condensed milk *chefs kiss* Plus, it's in a food cart pod so lots of great options around if you're meeting a group with different tastes!
google avatar

Yelp
I know Portland is known for having a bunch of food cart pods all around the city, but this place is a diamond in the rough. Their pho French dip is one of the best sandwiches I've had had in my young life. Mic drop. Get this if you are going here. Casher also recommended the Dirty Thai over the Ube Bae and I was not disappointed.

Yelp
Soft shell crab curry and my new favorite food truck! Was so exited when they handed me my food, look at that! If I remember correctly, it was only for a limited time so I got lucky. I've yet to try other food items but so far this one plate did not disappoint.
google avatar

Elizabeth O.

Yelp
The rave about this place is real! The drinks are dairy free friendly. The chili is spicy and delicious. The flavors of the food is always consistent!
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
I don't even know if I should share this review as I don't want White Elephant to run out of my new favorite food item. But, it would be selfish of me to keep this to myself. When I saw that WE was now offering fried soft shell crab that's bathed in a velvety and lightly sweet curry sauce, I HAD to try it. It came with jasmine rice and I devoured every bit of it. I'm not even ashamed to say that I ate all the garnish that came with it so I could get every last bit of the sauce. I even begged one of the owners to keep it on their menu as a permanent item! I also picked up some of their classic items like Lao jerky, papaya salad, and thum sauce so I can make Lao style papaya salad at home. Since I'm trying to watch my figure, I had 2 diet cokes to wash everything down. Craving satisfied!
google avatar

Bryson L.

Yelp
Was not a fan of Uncle OG's chicken wings, they were incredibly salty and mostly based around fish sauce with limited balance of other ingredients in the sauce. However, I was a big fan of the nam khao, the crispy rice was incredibly addictive. I had tried the tofu version and I'm not usually a fan of vegetarian dishes, but this one was so tasty.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
One of my favorite food trucks in all of Portland! The Pho French Dip is amazing. The calamari is light and crunchy! Ever here is yummy! It's definitely got a Thai style, but it seems to have a Louisiana influence. You have to try it at the Mississippi Food Trucks.
google avatar

Jadyn N.

Yelp
Food was good and it really full of flavor. FYI the salad is spicy if you wanted to know and a little to salty, but you can ask for it to not be as spicy. Food cart was next to Matt's BBQ cart.
google avatar

Tami N.

Yelp
If you're unsure what to get, recommend the Waterfall Beef. Very flavorful and comes in a good portion.
google avatar

Theresa A.

Yelp
Lots and lots of options here! We decided to do a food cart hop (best area to do it!) and I picked up apps from here. The salt and pepper calamari, technically a dish in and of itself, but we had it as apps to share as well as the rangoons. Soo delish! I'm def coming back and trying more!
google avatar

Johnny L.

Yelp
Pho French Dip by itself w/out the dip (which is pho broth) would've been fine as the sandwich was good by itself.. I felt the broth needed more beef richness n a little more flavor.. specifically 4 the sandwich - the bean sprouts, cheese, onions, cilantro n thick slices of beef n baguette definitely worked! Yes, their wings were dry n overcooked but u know me, I would still take that over blandness as the Salt & Pepper Wings were tasty the family that owns this food truck r friendly ppl Cheers!

Yelp
Headed down to Portland to eat as much as we could. White Elephant food truck was recommended by several friends so as part of the Mississippi food truck pod, we went to try their wings. They have numerous flavours of wings to choose from and they were 6 for $8. The owner was super friendly and helpful in helping me make my decision - went for the recommended Uncle OG's Sticky Icky Wings. Everything is make to order (which is a from a good truck), so the wait was about 10minutes. When my name was called I was so excited to dig in! The wings were freshly fried and the owner said they'd also just made a fresh batch of sauce I could smell the delicious sauce and waft of fish sauce and garlic as I hurried back to our table. The wings were big and juicy (not those tiny wings you sometimes get at bars), fried to perfection, and that sauce was the bomb! It was sweet, salty, tangy and spicy. One of the best wings I've ever had, and I'll definitely be back to have more wings and try other items on the menu.

Yelp
We came here because the Pho French Dip looked and sounded amazing! And we've never been to this little food cart pod. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday night. We didn't have to stand in line to order, and our food was ready in about ten minutes. I ordered the Pho French Dip. It was a fun twist on a regular bowl of pho. Pho is one of my favorite dishes, and the French dip was pretty good. I would probably prefer just the soup next time, but this was a nice change and definitely worth trying! I'd get it again if I had a hankering for a French dip. I also got spring rolls. I love spring rolls, but I rarely like them when I order them. Only a few places can satisfy my craving for them. These were good, not great. I probably wouldn't order them again from here, but I'm picky. These were good, so give them a chance! My husband ordered the waterfall beef. It was tasty and filling. And the sauce!! Oh, the sauce was spicy and flavorful! It added a nice spice to it. I would definitely try that next time. We also ordered the O.G. Wings. We read that they were really spicy. I was looking forward to these as I like my food really spicy. These wings had excellent flavor! They were cooked to perfection, and I'd definitely get them again--but they weren't spicy. At all. I'm wondering if we were given the wrong wings because literally no spice. I was disappointed in the spice, but the wings were so tasty it didn't matter so much. I'm hoping to get the right order next time so I can try the spicy ones!

Emily P.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try for sooooo long. We ordered pho dip sandwich, waterfall beef, chicken wings, and sticky rice. Drinks as well, which I liked, my daughter did not. The sandwich was impossible to eat because the bread was dry and crumbled all apart as soon as I picked it up, everything was falling out. It was old bread. There was no way to keep it together and dip it. It needed fresh bread you can grab and hold the ingredients in, so much lettuce and been sprouts all fell out. Very tasty though. Sticky rice was a bit hard, but the beef was tasty.
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
I was so excited to try the mangoes and sauce dip. They sell out on this often is what the lady informed me when I attempted to order it today. I ordered the pho banh mi french dip. I wish the bread would have been more crispy. The meat was well flavored. If you like salty this may be for you. Steam dumplings and egg rolls for the kids. Steam dumplings was good. Egg roll was a bit undercook because of the veggies. I haven't ordered the chicken wings, beef jerky, or papaya salad so maybe next time I will give it a try.
google avatar

Rachelle T.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai places to eat and it's a food cart! They are also creating new fun dishes to try out. I love ordering the crispy calamari and the ube drink. The waterfall beef is tasty and has a spicy dipping sauce and for dessert the sticky rice with mango is a must. The last time I went the calamari was too salty but I've had it there before and it's been better. I do love the nam khao. They are located on Mississippi street so parking isn't the greatest but worth it to make a trip here.
google avatar

Shelley S.

Yelp
Customer service is great! Very nice lady at the window! I came here just to grab a drink but walked away with wings too! Decided to try a Thaier Woods (Thai iced tea mixed with lemonade). I knew my hubby would like the lemonade but don't think he's ever had Thai tea. As soon as I gave him a sip, he stole my drink! Truth is that he loved it and I was expecting the condensed and evaporated milk mixed in, so it totally worked out that

Yelp
White elephant is a lao-thai fusion of sorts. Whenever I come to Mississippi food carts it's either Matt's bbq or White elephant. My go to dish is the waterfall beef. Nicely cooked and pair up with a lao salsa called jeow som. Their is a minor kick to it but it is the perfect combo. I would recommend Uncle OG sticky icky wings, they are really good!
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
Wings...wings...wings... this place has a variety flavors of wings to choose from along with some other great dishes. OG sticky wings: 5/5 Saigon/fishsauce wings: 4/5 Waterfall beef: 4.5/5 Pho French dip: 4.5/5 Mango sticky rice: 5/5 Customer service: 5/5 Overall, this place is great and can't wait to come during the warmer days (not during the snowy days). There are a few other wings and items that I would like to try next time!

Yelp
WE catered our wedding and I can't say enough about how amazing they were! Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation was beautiful! Jen was so easy to work with from our initial tasting to the wedding day. She and her whole staff are kind and good people. You can tell they love what they do and they do it with such care and pride! Jen's also got your back -- they set aside a tray of chicken wings for me which was such a nice surprise at the end of a long wedding day! My husband and I also stop by their food truck when we're in the neighborhood for some Pho'rench Dips and we highly recommend those! Thank you for making our wedding day so amazing!!

Yelp
We were visiting Portland a couple of weeks ago and there were so many delicious foods we wanted to try. This place was definitely one of them, we heard the owners Jen and Chris were real cool people and wow they are amazing! The husband and wife team sure do know how to throw down in the kitchen! We ordered a bunch of stuff since it was Sunday Funday! The waterfall beef and pho dip sandwiches are a must, the waterfall beef reminded me of my mother's home cooking! The pho dip sandwich married together quite well, props to Chris for the creation! Jen's papaya salad really hit the spot, it was the real deal! Super dark sauce, perfectly sweet sour and spicy! OG's sticky icky wangs were no joke, you gotta try them! And last the salt & pepper chicken feet, so damn delicious! Where else can you get chicken feet and ice cold beer? If you're ever in the Portland area stop by the Mississippi pod and grab some delicious southeast Asian eats! Don't forget to say hi to Jen and Chris!!

Yelp
A hidden gem! Some friends and I were in Portland to shop at the Nike ES. Since Portland is known for great food trucks, of course we had to stop by a few. Located in Prost! Marketplace, which is a cluster of food trucks/carts. They also have pictures of the menu displayed across the front. Super helpful. A variety of modern fusion Southeast Asian street eats to choose from, especially wings such as Saigon Wings (fish sauce) and Salt & Pepper Wings. I decided try something different and go with the Uncle OG's Sticky Icky Wings (the name sold me). You get 6 decent size wings for $8. Oh man the Uncle OG's Sticky Icky Wings are unbelievable. The flavor is crazy good. A sweet and spicy sauce over nicely crispy fried wings, with a side of white rice. They're pretty generous with the amount of sauce too. I also ordered a Thai iced tea. For $4, you get a pretty big cup size too (like a McDonald's medium), compared to the amount you would get in Thai restaurants. Worth it. Overall, everything so far exceeded my expectations. Here's the bad news... UNFORTUNATELY, one of the wings was still a bit raw inside... Yes, I was pretty disappointed and it definitely does scream food violation, BUT please don't let that stop you from trying these wings or any of their awesome dishes. Sh*t happens. Everything else was cooked perfectly. The couple working the cart - you guys are just wonderful people! They really put in work with their food and making sure we're pleased with it. If you're ever in Portland, I suggest you swing by and check it out!

Yelp
Fast, friendly . Lemongrass peanut chicken was excellent. Some covered seating so you can sit out of the rain. Nice friendly place.

Summer G.

Yelp
The food is fucking amazing! Everything is fresh and flavors are delicious! Laotian Beef Jerky, Waterfall Beef, Asian-style Wings and Papaya salad are not to be missed!

Yelp
If I ever get married, this is who I want to cater my wedding!! The food is AMAZING. Each dish is exceptional, long lasting flavor the spice levels are great! My mouth waters every time I eat here! My go to is the beef waterfall and lots of jeow sauce or as they call it "crack sauce", which they now sell! The papaya salad is so spicy which is great! The salmon belly was initially a limited time option but now is a regular on their menu because it's that great! Between May-June they usually get a shipment of baby green mangos served with the spicy jeow sauce! But get us fast when they're available as they sell fast! Another option is the green plums which is just as amazing. Service is always great, at times the wait can be long but I've never complained because it's worth the wait. It's located on Mississippi street in a food pod next to Prost.

Yelp
Outstanding traditional Laotian food, and amazzzzzing customer service! A must when you are in the neighborhood!

Yelp
I have had a teriyaki craving for some time and was in the area. The staff were super friendly, and the food was very fresh. I appreciated that the tofu was pan seared instead of deep fried. The vegetables were cooked just right. I just really didn't like the teriyaki sauce, and it was all sort of drowning in it. I'll have to come back and try something else in the future.

KS M.

Yelp
Eat their wings. Eat them all. Be sure to get My Uncle's OG wings!!! Albeit, all are so good. I think it might be because they fry them perfectly so even when sauced they stay crispy - even the next day!!! Wings. Sigh. Nomnomnom. And dude was really nice. That is always a big plus!

Yelp
This wagon was recommended by our son that lives in Oregon. We live in Hawaii and have been on vacation visiting family. We enjoy trying the different lunch wagons and have had lots of success with our choices... but this WAS THE BEST YET!! Everything we ordered was AMAZING!! We will absolutely be visiting this wagon before we go back home.

Yelp
Asian fusion, I say yes! There was a great Asian-South American fusion spot I loved in Lower Manhattan so I'm always on the hunt for fusion. I had the pho French dip here. The concept is great and I would love to taste it other spots. The good: the meat is copious. The staff is nice. Service is fast. Price mid for what it is. The meat had an anise flavor, but missed spice potential. In fact just that spice on the meat did not work. The bun absorbed the jus well, but was not the crispy steam-finished crusty bread we would expect and would complement a French dip. The jus missed spices Portlanders would consider pho. It was not pho. I was not interested in wings. I asked if they could do other dishes in their wing styles and they said no. So maybe if you want the flavors this is a wing cart not an Asian fusion cart?

Yelp
I really love this place. The owners are adorable and the food is simply amazing. The essence of Laos food is lots of flavor and lots of spice. They've nailed it and it reminds me so much of my mom's cooking growing up. I wish this place was in Eugene. I'd seriously go there all the time.

Yelp
In a lot of some of the best food trucks in town. The pho French dip is equally unique and delicious. It makes a great winter sandwich and I go here at least every other week. The woman who works there is really kind. 5 stars!

Yelp
Authentic Laotian and Thai food! The papaya salad had lots of flavor and it was spicy! Just the way I like it. Tasted just like how my mom makes it. (Tip: Eat it with beef & it'll take some of the spicy away) The Lemongrass chicken was also a winner. I didn't taste the lemongrass it in, but I sure did taste many other flavors. And lastly the waterfall beef jerky was delicious. It comes with rice to top it all off. The owners are from Laotian so the food tastes just like homemade Laotian food.

Yelp
If you're in the area this is a must have! Just tried it for the first time and was lucky to be their last order for the night. I got the crab pillows and the salt and pepper shrimp with rice. SO GOOD! The shrimps were huge and really flavorful. The rice was also great. The crab pillows were delicious. Deff will be back!

Yelp
Love the food! We tried the saigon wings, they were perfectly crispy and had plenty of sauce! Was not overly salty or oily, just perfect. I can't wait to go bck to try their other wings (peanut butter??) Their deepfried chicken feet were a fun version of the chicken feet we are used to eating at dimsum. We also enjoyed their waterfall beef, but it was a tad less juicy than I had hoped for. But overall, I love this place!

Yelp
Stopped by today. We only got spring rolls and pot stickers. Both were great crispy and hot! Good service as well. Definitely coming back
