Authentic Thai cuisine in Zurich, tucked away in the Marriott Hotel - elegant interior, attentive service and a meal that was well thought out from start to finish. We started with a shared starter platter – a little bit of everything, from crunchy to spicy, and perfect for getting a taste of the flavours. Two of the main courses stood out for me in particular. The 𝗣𝗮𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻𝘀 🦐– slightly sweet, enveloped in a soft egg layer and quietly and soothingly delicious. And the 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆 🐟 had it all – crispy skin, tender fish meat and a sauce I just couldn't get enough of.

Located in Zurich’s Marriott hotel, the white elephant has a very functional and for my taste a bit sterile design. Service did not leave an impression, neither positive nor negative. I can recommend the starter platter, especially the salads were good. My main dish, a green curry, was fairly average. In general the restaurant is good, but not really worth a slightly above average pricing.

This was our last dinner of a 3 week trip ending in Zurich. The gluten free choices were excellent and absolutely delicious. The fact that they have a full gf menu is a great bonus to someone with celiac. The staff were wonderful, very informative and super friendly. Presentation of each dish was unique and creative.

A True Taste of Thailand at The White Elephant – A Family Favorite We finally had the chance to visit The White Elephant at the Marriott Hotel after hearing countless glowing reviews from my parents-in-law, who’ve been loyal regulars for years—and now we understand why they love it so much! The food absolutely lived up to the hype. Every dish was bursting with authentic Thai flavor—the balance of spices, freshness of ingredients, and richness in taste truly transported us straight to Thailand. It’s rare to find a restaurant that captures the essence of Thai cuisine so faithfully, and The White Elephant does it beautifully. If you visit, make sure to order the dumplings as a starter—they were incredibly good! Delicately prepared and full of flavor, they set the tone perfectly for the rest of the meal. Our absolute favorites were the crispy duck and the beef salad—both were packed with bold, vibrant flavors and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is elegant yet warm, making it a great setting for both family dinners and special occasions. While the food was exceptional, the service did fall a little short—we found it to be a bit slow and not as attentive as expected, especially given the restaurant’s high standards. That said, the staff were friendly and the quality of the food more than made up for the minor service delays. We’ll definitely be back—and now we completely understand why this place is such a beloved spot in our family!

For a Thai food option in Zurich, I would have to agree that it is overpriced. The food was ok. We really liked the chicken curry and the crispy duck but the rest we didn’t like. I will say the crowd there mostly consists of people who stay in the hotel. Won’t be my choice of regular dining. We paid around 150fr for 1 appetizer and 2 main dishes. Each main dish is between 40-50fr.

Food is good, decent if at the hotel. Service was nice and friendly. Had some dishes we had not seen before and enjoyed the service the most, attentive once they took our order. We did wait 10 minutes when we were sat down for someone to appear but that leveled out and service got better. You will be charged for tap water which is insane.

the most Authentic Thai Cuisine in Zurich, the taste were all Authentic, Services very fast, warm greetings from the staff all Thai Peoples hospitality. A bit pricey, but still ok for us. Coming for 2 times here… never boring, cause they are keeping all service and freshness food quality were amazing.

The food at this Thai restaurant was truly excellent — rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented dishes. Every plate we tried was delicious and clearly prepared with great care and authenticity. However, the service did not quite meet the level one would expect for the price. While the staff were polite, the overall attention and speed of service were below expectations, which slightly affected the experience. That said, the quality of the food alone makes this place worth visiting, and with some improvement in service, it could easily become an outstanding dining spot. I would still recommend it, especially for those who truly appreciate great Thai cuisine.

What a hidden gem. It is located inside of the Marriott in Zurich. Food and service was excellent, but it does come with city hotel prices. We were met with a very friendly reception and promptly seated at our reservation time. The appetizers, chicken satay and egg rolls were definitely something to try although the chicken satay could have used more flavor as it was described as a peanut sauce, but lacked the peanut flavor. Price was the main factor it was not a 5 star review.

Good Food - shitty service, make sure you make reservations. They sat our party of 4 gave us a 1 hour option to eat and leave - food came out quickly, never asked us for water refills or another wine / cocktail And we were out in just about 1 hour....

A great dinner for our one night in Zurich. We were tired from traveling and didn't want to venture far from the hotel. The wait staff was professional and courteous. I normally eat Massaman curry but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. I got the panang instead and it was great but not the best Thai food I've tried (sorry but I love my local Thai place back home). Everyone else at the table absolutely loved their dishes. Their mai tai was also fabulous. Overall it was a great dinner and a great experience.

The food was incredible. This is the best Thai food I've had in my entire life we had both the pad Thai and the shrimp curry. The service was good. The prices were on the high side with tapwater costing almost the same as bottled water being from the USA I'm not used to paying so much in drink refills and for water. But the flavor portions and quality of the food would bring me back here again.

Fancy finding the best taste of Thailand, 10,000 km away from Thailand! But that exactly what this pace offers! Must try.

We stayed at Marriott and came to this place as it was late and we just wanted to eat some food. We returned 4 times in 8 days. Excellent food. We ordered Pad Thai with shrimp, Shrimp Cashew nut, chicken with cashews, Chicken pad Thai. Delicious food and excellent service.

Absolutely the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at anywhere on the globe. The food is delicious, but what really sets the White Elephant apart from other Thai places is the presentation of the food. Every single dish is a work of art. The portions are substantial and the service is very friendly and accommodating. You owe it to yourself to go!

This place was so nice to have in the lobby of my hotel! Friendly and helpful service that took time to explain things to me and offer suggestions. A wonderful Thai tea that wasn't too sweet! But most of all... the Panang curry with the beef slices was just out of this world! It had so much flavor and just the perfect amount of space, i went back to have it twice more! You must try this place if you need Thai Food in Zurich!

The food was very average along with the service. It's not common to pay $50 US for a Thai food meal (it may be in Switzerland because everything is expensive here) but when you do, you'd expect a great meal. I've had much better at many places.

Not sure how anyone could rate the food less than a 4 star. As for the three of us, my Swiss bride of 26 years and our youngest at 16, we all agreed: 5 stars. One caveat, we did just arrive in Zurich tired and hungry, so let's give it a 4 1/2 on food. Ambiance and functionality of the decor, etc., is a 4.25; Swiss precision engineering deserves a 4 by default. The Tom Kai soup serving came in a scalped coconut with the top cut off, creating a tea kettle-like bowl filled with the broth and a generous amount of chicken and seafood. Flavor 4.5. Large portions of Pad Thai noodles for each of us, with extra large, fresh and flavorful shrimp. Surprised we had to leave Puerto Rico to get such good coconut and shrimp. Expensive: $207 + $45 tip..no alcohol. Uggggh. This country could be my next post before I decide to retire.

I had the Pad Thai with Tofu, it was delicious. Odd flex to be in the Marriott and I really just went there so I could stay out of the rain, but I am very happy that I did. Great food, yummy Thai Iced Tea and friendly service. You should go.

Food is good but little expensive, because they are inside the Marriott hotel. They don't have fried rice in the menu but they do make it, and they make it well. Thai Ice tea was okay.

Excellent food and excellent service. Our second time in Zurich and first time at white elephant. Don't know how we missed it on our last visit. We stayed at Marriott and weren't in a mood to go out for dinner so decided to try this restaurant and didn't regret our decision at all. My go to place every time I visit for sure. Must try.

I had low expectations for a hotel Thai restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The pad Thai was the best I've ever had, and very artistically presented. Thai iced coffee was excellent as well. Service was superb. I love the decor too.

The food was very delightful and rich with thai herbs and spices which makes you feel as if you are in thailand. The service was great and simply a great experience and a really recommended Resturant in Zurich

I love the Tom yum soup! The place is a very decent restaurant inside Marriott hotel. Pricy but it s in Zurich, where everything is relatively expensive.

Good Thai food restaurant in the Zurich Marriot hotel. This restaurant is towards the back of the lobby, pass the bar, and up a flight of stairs. Decent Thai themed decor, nothing fancy. The food is good, nothing great but very good. Portion sizes are large for Switzerland but not huge. The prices are standard for Switzerland which means expensive. My tofu pad thai cost 25chf. Most of the dishes with meat are between 45-60chf. Great, attentive service.

Quite lovely. I have no eaten here a few times and enjoyed several dishes and appetizers. The dumplings are superb and the curries are also quite lovely. Good atmosphere - definitely does not feel like you are in a hotel restaurant. Sometimes the service can be spotty, and the serving size can be a bit small for the price but try the lobster tail. It will be worth it!

I guess I should've realized reviews for this place is super old so here's one that is up to date. The quality of food and customer service was horrible and unacceptable for being a Marriott. This place was not authentic at all. Even if the food was modernized, our order for the curry and vegetarian substitute for pad see ew they said they could make off the menu was not very mediocre for the price we paid. It took forever for us to get the bill so we asked the hostess to assist with getting he bill. The hostess had no capability to do it for us and got yelled at by our horrible unprofessional server Jacky in front of everyone because he was apparently "busy". She shouldn't have been treated that way for being attentive to us knowing our server didn't come back to us to see if we needed anything else after he dropped our food we perfected. Hopefully management can correct this for future experiences to be better by having a better team.

Very delicious Thai food. Spicy and flavorful. Surprisingly expensive but that's true of anyplace in Zurich.
