We had a fantastic experience here. Located in a very quiet little neighborhood not far from Ponta Delgada, we loved how quaint and exclusive it felt. The design of the hotel is beautiful - very clean and modern with thoughtful touches like a kitchenette and dining table.||The views are stunning over the coast. We had 2 beautiful sunny days and enjoyed hanging out at the infinity pool, and enjoyed a drink by the fire pit on our last night. During our stay we saw a few other guests but for the most part it felt like we had the terrace to ourselves.||One of the bright spots was the food - we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel throughout our stay and all were excellent. We ate at the sister property one night, Santa Barbara, which was good too but we thought the food at White was the best we had on the whole trip.||Friendly staff and the little extras (the phone they give you, the turn down service, etc) rounded out our wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.||One final note - we’d highly recommended a car. While there is a little town center within walking distance, there’s not much in the immediate vicinity and we found ourselves driving all over the island. There was plenty of parking right out front of the hotel.

We stayed 3 nights in Ponta Delgada and then 3 nights at The White - just to have some relaxing time at this hotel outside the city. Need a car if you plan to leave the hotel. We had room Ocean 2 which is the upper floor with a balcony - good size, lovely view. The bed was so comfortable we hardly wanted to get up! There is a very nice path along the ocean that they suggested for a walk - we walked it every day! Had dinner 1 night at the hotel and enjoyed the food - and Hugo suggested the perfect wine for us! We had dinner at the Santa Barbara sister restaurant 1 nite and the food was good but maybe not as nice as The White. However - they had the best dessert of our 2 weeks in the Azores - the queijada with passion fruit sorbet- to die for! Staff at The White couldn’t have been nicer. Highly recommend.

I came here last July and this was a beautiful property to stay at. The pool had stunning views and hot tub was wonderful. They also lit the fire for us while we were drying off. I loved the breakfast here too. It was pretty easy to find parking every day, although it is limited but we usually came early enough where there weren't any issues. We had to skip breakfast one of the days to do a boat tour, and they packed a breakfast for us! Our stay here was wonderful.

The hotel is right on the cliffs with very nice sea view but the hotel is only nice if you get the ocean suite. We had first two nights at the ocean suite and super nice room and accepted the high prices but then we had to switch to U2 (Unique 2). This room is a completely a cave and looked like a dungeon. Last two days were miserable in this room especially charging 658 Euros is really not correct. The ocean suite was only by 30 Euros more expensive. The difference is so huge for a little price difference. No light in the room and smells terrible humid. People walking in front of the room, you can hear people talking in the morning. I was super depressed seeing this room especially with the price. I would have cancelled it if I had a choice. It takes- around 10 mins to receive hot water. Breakfast was just ok with dried old bread. Great coffee and omelettes though. Dinner was fantastic but dinning room has no view at all, you look at a wall. Outside sitting set up is terrible a cave looking place partly no sun protection. Service overall including reception was incredible made our stay in the last two days in this terrible U2 room barebale. Incredible nice and helpful people overall in the hotel was the best of the last two days. Thank you for the great service.

This hotel is a serene gem nestled away from the bustle of the city, offering an exceptional blend of comfort and seclusion. The customer service is truly outstanding—warm, attentive, and personalized, making every guest feel valued. The views are absolutely breathtaking, with sweeping vistas of the ocean that create a perfect backdrop for relaxation. If you're seeking privacy, tranquility, and high-end hospitality, this is the ideal escape in the Azores. This is the only hotel on the island to be awarded Michelin Key.

This hotel was very relaxing with excellent service. The food was phenomenal and so convenient to eat just a few doors down without all crowds and waiting of restaurants in the city. Not much right in the location of the hotel to walk to like being in the city, but after our stay in Ponta Degela we welcomed a few days here in this setting. The phone they give you to communicate with the concierge at all times was very helpful and added to the relaxing atmosphere.

Loved our stay here in Feb. The service here is the best and we loved the location. We stayed in the Villa and the private hot tub was awesome. If we were back we would stay here again 100%. We ate dinner at hotel 3 nights and each night dinner was so good. All fresh local farm to table. Great selection of cocktails also. Breakfast is included and so good! We always ate between 10-11am and skipped lunch. You won't regret booking this hotel.

I don’t understand all the amazing reviews of this property. The location is nice and sitting outside when it’s warm is pleasant. Decent views (if you ignore the grain factory). Breakfast OK. BUT our room was awful. I cried when we got there and had handed over £1400 for 3 nights B&B prior to arriving. If we hadn’t, I’d would have left immediately and gone back to Ponta Delgarda where there are decent restaurants. U1 (unique 1) is almost a cave hewed out of the rock. The whole place is overly minimalistic but we had no comfortable chairs, in fact, no comfort at all. it was dark, dank and miserable. We called it the dungeon. No door to the bathroom, just a curtain. We’ve been married for 36 years but still found this embarrassing. We called the shower - which took around 10 mins to receive hot water ‘the pit of doom’. There is nothing to do unless you like yoga or water sports. The area isn't great. Dinner was OK but very limited choice and boring if you are there more than one night. The cost is prohibitive and totally wrong.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous! Once you enter this place, it's like another paradise. This cliff side boutique hotel welcomes you by friendly staff (Rebecca!) and a delicious, I mean DE-LI-CIOUS welcome drink!! Check in was easy, but one of our rooms weren't ready so I roamed around taking in the breath taking views. The ambiance and environment felt very Mediterranean with everything being white, very Santorini-esk. It was less than 10 mins and we got our room. We had the ocean view rooms looking over the infinity pool and lounge area. Every detail from entry, waiting area, our rooms, outdoor amenities were on point! We had the biggest balcony compared to the others, but we hardly used it. We spent most of our time at the infinity pool (6 hours!!!) and enjoyed our lunch swimming and lounging around. It was much needed after an adventurous and intense 1 week in the Azores. We had dinner reservations in the outdoor patio, which we loved a lot. Nice atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Even the bread and butter was out of this world! Shave butter!!! WTH?! We all fell in love with everything about this place and their culinary. Every dish we order was phenomenal. Not sure if it's seasonal, but the rockfish with shrimp and crab polenta was to die for! The boys loved their aged sirloin with smoke bone marrow, but I would love another rockfish dish right now. The dessert? Muah!!! Love love love! I had the pineapple yogurt dessert and I'm in love all over again! The outdoor lounge area has a firepit where you can enjoy the stars at night, but we were too tired. Opt for an early-ish night, so I can wake up for breakfast! I don't think I need to rave again about how amazing their food is. Breakfast was included with our package and everything is made-to-order. Muah! Loved it and I ordered 2 more of the welcome drink lol! It's just that good! If you're in the Azores and on Ponta Delgado Island, this is a must! You can hotel hop if you want (we did), but end your trip here. You won't disappoint! Our friends got a massage before we left, so it's an all in one package at this place. We would love to come back next time!

Yelp
The moment you step to the entry way, you know this place is something special. White is very reminiscent of Santorini -- which I have never visited as my husband pointed out when I made the comment to staff. However, I've spent years looking at photos of the Greek islands and dreaming of visiting. Natural wood, white and gray with touches of blue. White is beautifully appointed. The room is private and very comfortable. Best of all, the staff is phenomenal. Standouts were Joel (?) at the front desk and Sandra but everyone was genuinely welcoming and made us feel right at home. Don't even get me started on the food. Unbelievably good. A quick glance at my Yelp page and you will know that I have a serious love affair with food. The best meals we had in the Azores happened in the quaint little dining room. Breakfast each morning was perfect. The scrambled eggs, lightly sweet yogurt and infused water added up to the best breakfast we had our whole trip and I cannot function without breakfast! Do not delay making a reservation in the dining room for dinner. There are 7 tables and you don't want to be left out of this experience. The food is phenomenal. My husband says the parrotfish was delicious, as were the accompanying roasted vegetables. The jumbo shrimp I had both nights comes to me in my dreams. The little touches here (individual blankets, a fire pit) are just the icing on a scrumptious cake. I've been many places but White is the most beautiful, tranquil hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. It apparently opened in July, which explains the incredible deal. Once word spreads, this place will be a hard-to-get reservation. I would easily pay 5x the price to stay here. White is a one of a kind experience which I highly recommend.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms are immaculate and the decor is on point. The cliff side location makes for an amazing infinity edge pool. The food is AH-MAZING! The best we had on the island (and on our entire Azores trip!). The staff is so helpful and attentive - we had a wonderful check-in process with Rebecca, and Sandra was always there to answer any/all questions and ensure our stay was perfect. This place is a true gem.
