A very nice place, great food,friendly Service, great Atmosphere,Pool,Shuffleboard, and Karaoke on Friday nights .

I had read some of the reviews and wondered what I might be walking in to and I have to say I’m so glad I went! True, it’s not the newest or fanciest place but it sure is comfortable. The good food and drinks are reasonably priced as well. Definitely going to be a regular spot when I get out! Chicken livers cooked to perfection and I can’t wait to get a chance to try the catfish.

Nice place with friendly service, a couple of pool tables, 1 shuffleboard table, and a Touch Tunes. They do serve food, the catfish is only on Fridays fyi, and they only accept cash. That being said, they do have an ATM machine, as well as those games of chance if that interests you.

Neighborhood bar, good breakfast and lunch specials. Excellent fried catfish on Friday nights. 3 pool tables plus a long shuffleboard table. There's always somebody to talk too.

Good attention and food food!! If you want spend you time with your friends and have a good time, this site is the correct!

Wendy and Kylee are awesome! Friendly service. Kylee makes the best Vegas bombs. Gary used his magic touch to fix the pull tabs. Recommend this place 10/10.

the tavern is a nice friendly environment

So I have only been in gi for about half a year now so I thought I could deal with this bar because my family has been going here for two generations. But unfortunately tonight was the last straw for me to keep trying to go here. Unfortunately for some reason this bar has music that the bar will not let you play. So I don't understand why it is even on the jukebox. Unfortunately they let you waste your hard earned money to play music just to change it dude to the owner having tiny heart syndrome. Yes I understand that the bar is a privately owned business and the owner can put in effect any rules they wish. But if a certain word is not allowed to be played in the bar it should be removed from the juke box. I really did try to give this bar a shot but unfortunately the environment is not welcoming at all. I did try to give this bar a shot I did. But to not allow people to play music with the f word is pretty ridiculous. Especially when they have junkies cleaning the bar at the end of the night. So I will no longer come to this bar at all. They have lost my business permanently. If your out to have a good time this is truly not the place you need to spend your money. I don't like writing reviews on places but I am fed up with the petty rules of this establishment. It is what it is times have changed and its time to get with the times if you want business it's best to not have tiny heart syndrome and just get over it. I'm sorry but it's not the 1950s anymore grow with the times and just get over it. So yeah in short if you want to go somewhere and have people give you dirty looks and make you feel unwelcome this is definitely the place for you. But as for me I will never in my life spend another cent at this bar.

I like dive bars and this one looked like it fit the bill. Let me say, This is a true story. Arrived on a Thursday evening to a parking lot with one car in it. I figured it was the owner or bar tenders vehicle. Upon exiting my car I was approached by an older gentleman that said I was parked in the wrong direction. Mind you, practically empty parking lot with Zero parking lines painted on the lot. I spoke with him for a minute about my "incorrect parking job". I guess we agreed it was okay to park in front of the bar. Walked into a fairly open facility with the TV on blast. Waitress ( older lady) asked what I would like, not overly friendly but whatever. As I was looking to see what they had she said I was parked in the wrong direction??? Bizarre !! At this point I knew it was time to leave. I'm guessing this is an older couple that owns the place and are set in their ways or don't like to make money. Either way all the best to them. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

If you need a beer at 6am the White Horse will be open. If you need beer or liquor to go at 5 minutes to 1am, the White Horse will give it to you, even if you are fucked up (which you will be if you started drinking at 6am). Even though the smoking ban is in effect, the place still smells like the dive it is. Digital jukebox music now means you have more musical choices than the Charlie Daniels Band or Styx or whatever the fuck else they used to have. If you are there at 10am you better like to watch Price Is Right, you can even join in the Price Is Right betting pool.

I'm a 18 yr customer. They have great food! Burgers, Breaded Hot Wings, The Best Biscuits and Gravy In town!, Friday Catfish Day, etc. Breakfast available All Day! Kitchen opens at 6 am Mon - Sat., Sun at 12 noon. They have Darts, Pool, and Shuffle Broad, Fri Night Karaoke. And yes it is true that the owner does not like the use of the " F " Word. Which is used way too much these days! Other cursing is allowed.

If you're unfamiliar with Grand Island like I was and it's dark because it's closing in on 1am, this place can be hard to find coming from the south. Look over your left shoulder though, and you'll see it. This was a good, basic roadhouse-style dive. Though the kitchen was closed the food smelled good. The big screen TVs were on the Game Show channel for whatever reason. I have to give kudos to White Horse Tavern for being open. We had been striking out a lot that night, finding many of the bars downtown closed well before their posted hours.

We love coming here. Total dive bar. Bartenders are super friendly and welcoming. Drinks are cheap. They make some really good shots. Favorite bar to stop by at whenever we are in grand island.

A little older crowd. Family-owned bar. The owner will not stand for cursing, so plan on paying 25 cents each time you cuss.

Nice place to relax and have a drink ! Pretty calm bar , they don't like any ruffness goin on there , if you get out of line they will tell u to leave . Friendly atmosphere , and friendly waitstaff .
