The food is always phenomenal and all of the staff members are wonderful. My boyfriend says it’s easily the best prime rib in the valley. You won’t leave hungry. They have a large menu so there’s something for everyone. We’ve never had any complaints coming here. Great atmosphere and alcohol selections as well. This time we went for New Years Eve the the specials didn’t disappoint!

Google
Every time we come here for dinner, it’s a great experience. All the staff are extremely friendly, the drinks are great, and the food is excellent. I’ve had the smoked ribs & prime rib and both were fantastic meals. Kelly is an excellent server as well. Highly recommend for a date night or for a big group.

First time here and definitely will be back. Mussels were incredible. We had the roast duck and chicken wellington. At least a half dozen other things on the menu we want to try. Bartender was very attentive and helpful. Staff was extremely friendly. Hidden gem.

We love going to dinner at this place We especially love getting the perch on Fridays for the fish fry. Pair tjat with a wisconsin brandy old fashioned and it can't be beat. They also have specials other nightd of the week that are worth a visit. Make a reservation for Friday/Saturday nights or you can end up waiting. They have a great old bar that you can sit at while you wait.

First time here tonight, definitely going back! The woman who sat us and saw us out was the sweetest person. We really enjoyed our main dishes -ribs, haddock broiled fish special, and ribeye. My stuffed pepper soup was really good, as were the salads. I wasn't a huge fan of the bread that was on the table, however the they brought with our food was warm and hit the spot.

The hostess was excellent as well as our waitress Blanca! Our meals were made in a timely manner and portions were very generous. The homemade bread was so tasty. Would definitely go back again!

Recommended. Love the Crispy Cajun Potato Peels. Great Ribeye. Good burgers and other food too. Muddled Old Fashions!!! Nostalgic Atmosphere. Amazing Ice-cream Drinks Too! Don't leave without one of those!

Google
They had a special Mardi Gras menu everything was delicious!! They were packed. Sat us at our reservation time and food came out in a timely manner! We had raw oysters, mussels, fried alligator, garlic stuffed tenderloin, Cajun catfish, and a shrimp dish. Everyone loved their food! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience here! Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night, and we arrived in time to get on the waiting list for a short wait of about 15 minutes. Had a drink at the bar and talked to a number of the other patrons - very friendly, casual vibe. The hostess came up to get us and take us to our table, and we got our orders in and enjoyed our drinks. I had a salad with my entree, which was fresh and tasty with a decent mix of greens and very tasting dressing. For dinner, my wife got the crab cake appetizer and a side of asparagus. Both were excellent -- the crab cakes are a nice blend of crab and breading mix with crab on top to make sure you get plenty of the seafood. I got the walleye, which was excellent and very meaty. For my side I got potato pancakes, something I don't think I've had for over 45 years, and they were a tasty accompniament to my dinner. Service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. Definitely recommend giving them a try!

Yelp
A Mixed Experience - Good Food, but a Dealbreaker for Me I want to start by saying the food here is genuinely good -- hearty portions, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. The building itself has a unique, historic charm, and the atmosphere inside feels like you've stepped into a different era. Service was friendly, and I can see why many locals enjoy it. That said, I've chosen not to return, and here's why: there's a Confederate flag displayed on the sign outside. For me, that symbol represents a legacy of division and oppression that I can't look past -- especially in a state that fought for the Union during the Civil War. It's a personal choice, but I believe it matters. If the flag weren't there, this would probably be one of my favorite local spots. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended -- not to cancel or attack, but to be honest about why some potential customers like me won't feel comfortable coming back.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for dinner tonight. I looked online and found a place with good reviews and the food looked good and the pic of the bar was our kinda place so we tried it out. 12 minutes outside of Oshkosh and omg this place was amazing. From the phone call I made to make the reservation with Terri to walking in the door and speaking with her and seating at the bar to meet the owners behind the bar working their tails off. This place was amazing! Andy made us a great drink when we got there and some regulars we sat next to gave us a great recommendation on the menu but also assured us in the 20 years he's been coming here has never had a bad meal. They had a great selection of upscale liquor behind the bar as well if your into that but also made a mean old fashion. Classe Azul and Basil Haden to name a few and some Blatons type bottle bourbon with a moose on top (I apologize for the spelling and recollection...the drinks were great lol.) Anyways we sat down for dinner with our server Lisa as she recommended some great things and was great at coursing our meal. We had the most amazing fish we have had in Wisconsin. We are new to Oshkosh area and this place is now the place we will go to. My husband asked where should we try next week because we were on the hunt for a great place and I looked at him sideways. Ummm we aren't going anywhere else! I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and this place was exceptional! Sorry to everyone for rambling but this place deserves it! Overall we felt at home and like family with these amazing people. We will be back and you should absolutely try it at least once! Also side note the history behind this place and it's still in the family and hasn't changed in 20 years is not a bad thing! They know what they are doing. The selection on the menu is amazing. The ambiance is very Wisconsin traditional supper club! Change nothing.

Yelp
I can't say enough about there roast duck. Absolutely perfect cook. Drinks are always good. Hand muddled OF. Great staff.

Yelp
We had a delightful experience. We love the atmosphere and appreciate the traditional appeal. Excellent service and our meal was delicious. Worth the drive. #JRockEats #JRockEatsOshkosh

Yelp
On a road trip to Rhinelander from Milwaukee, I found this town and place first by geography as it's a little more than an hour and a half from my front door. I planned to have dinner here. I'm a little concerned, well actually very disheartened that there are so many positive reviews of a place that brazenly posts a flag of racial hatred at the front entrance. Not ironic racism, proud racism. Because of all the great reviews, I originally thought that the name, White House Inn, was some sort of reference to the residence of the U.S. President. Turns out, it's a rather unpleasant double entendre. The restaurant is indeed painted white, but it's also very White in the sense that I got some very uninviting looks walking in the door. I did not feel safe. While I am disappointed in my fellow YELPers on this review, this does make me value YELP's inclusive embrace of diversity in all forms. I very much appreciate the opportunity to warn you if you are a visible minority to steer clear. If you're in between Rhinelander and Milwaukee Wisconsin looking for lunch or dinner, I recommend the college town of Steven's Point or the village of Fremont. No White Supremacy flags at either and more than a couple of good restaurant choices near the Interstate.

Yelp
One of the few true Wisconsin supper clubs left. Hand muddled old fashions like they should be made! Great food and very good service. One of the best fish fries in thee we area! A great place for boaters to dine!'

John K.

Yelp
Classic Wisconsin supper club fare with great service and food. Recommend the walley for sure!

Yelp
This wonderful spot was down the road from an inn I happened to be staying at for EAA. I had the most wonderful dinner here - everything was beyond delicious and I enjoyed it so much I came back the next night!! I will be dreaming about their amazing menu until, hopefully, I can come back again next year. It's a friendly, delightful and delicious spot. What a find!

Mick W.

Yelp
Great local supper club with a broad menu so you can find something that fits your budget. We stop here once or twice a year on our way north. confused by the post from June 2022. There is a minor civil war theme which is linked to one of the original owners who fought for the Union. It includes very few references to the confederacy. Hard to believe they found it so offensive. It's just a good supper club with a little American history.

Yelp
This is a great place - casual, yet tablecloths. Really nice menu. Great seafood and beef. Nice bar menu and dessert menu. Yummy specialty drinks. I had a pink squirrel!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
This remains an awesome restaurant. Great food. Great service. Great people. I think you would try hard to find a better supper club. It is in the class of Ishnala and White Stag...that good! Get the duck, and ask for Hollandaise!

Yelp
Jimmie's has an excellent atmosphere when you walk in, very unique. The drinks were made just right. The food was cooked to perfection, I had a Prime Rib, awesome!

Yelp
Too start I would like to talk about the food. I ordered the 6 oz tenderloin with French fries and a salad, may mom ordered the scallops with rice and a salad, and my dad ordered the ribeye with a baked potato and a salad. We al also got bread. My meal was good. The tenderloin was juicy and medium rare as I asked. My moms was delicious. The scallops were well seasoned and the rice was on point. My dads was not so good. The ribeye was chewy and fatty. But the baked potato was very good. Next I would like to talk about the service. First we had a different waitress every time someone came to the table. And they rarely came. We actually had to stop a waitress so she could get me about her soda. Overall I think the food was good but low quality and the service was ok. It's a place I would go back to for sure.

Yelp
Should have taken a picture, cajon Salmon was delicious. Baked potato perfect and filet pork tenderloin was great. Fresh brewed ice tea.

Marcie T.

Yelp
September 2022 - We had a great Sunday breakfast yesterday. The two gentleman we interacted with were very friendly. If the food had been just ok, we would go again just for the outstanding customer service.

Yelp
We were there for Octoberfest, the minute we walked in you could smell bleach and could tell the place was sanitized. We felt very safe eating there! Their German food was incredible! We each chose something different and there were so many sides to chose from! Their staff is friendly and loved the atmosphere! We will be back!
google avatar

Bob G.

Yelp
Really disappointing meal. Had fried lake perch which had basically no flavor at all. French fries were obviously frozen and I've had better at McDonalds. I went in with an open mind but not at all sure why I paid nearly $20 for this very bland meal. Service was also poor. The waitress was inattentive and put items on the table and ran off without telling us what they were - until it was time to pay the bill. Will not be going back.

Yelp
Such a darling little restaurant. Came for fish fry Friday when visiting family in Wisconsin. Made reservation for 13 people. It was great they could accommodate such a large party. The food was good. Perch was delicious. Came with salad or soup and potatoes (fries, baked or pancakes). The homemade bread served with dinner was delicious. The service was attentive and great.

Yelp
Love the White House! The food and atmosphere are wonderful! My favorites include the pan fried pike with lemon sauce & the Greek lemon soup! Try the pecan crusted chicken over angel hair pasta! So goood!

Bob B.

Yelp
Great Food! Great Service! Great atmosphere! If you ever attend EAA Air Venture, be sure to make a point of eating there!!

Chad L.

Yelp
Great food and great family atmosphere. Had the chicken wellington and the tenderloin with a peanut butter pie to finish on. Everything was just great including our waitress, Kim. Very friendly!!!

Scott S.

Yelp
This supper club is magnificent. My wife and I have dined several times and the food is just fantastic. Great old atmosphere with a civil war historic kind of feel. Great bar. Great menu. Great service. Thursday nights they run 1/2 price steak deal. I don't know why... but they do a damn fine job. Great soup/salad and side options. Last night the Jaegerschnitzel was an option. Perfectly prepared. Better than I ever had in Germany. Or in the US. I could rave on and on. But I think you get the point. Go here.

Tom A.

Yelp
We ordered take out form the Germanfest menu. The Sauerbraten was not worth the money. Also there was no one in there wearing masks. Not even the bartenders.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
The best fish I have ever had! That says a hell of a lot! Fricking Delicious sand dabs. The only other place I have seen them served is fisherman's wharf in San Francisco! Great old fashions too!
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
We often go here for breakfast on Sunday, Wednesday night burgers, Thursday steak night! Food & drinks are very good, staff is friendly & competent! Heartily recommend!
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Sense of history and vintage atmosphere. Check. Brandy Old Fashions. Check. Chicken Wellington. Check. In Wisconsin. Check. I'd go back fo' sho'.

Ruth S.

Yelp
My family made me go here. We pull up, there's a confederate flag on the sign so you know this place is gonna be a nightmare, they had the thinly veiled excuse of it being a "civil war themed" restaurant but my assumption is that their side of the war didn't win. I then was greeted by an outwardly mean host, seated in a cramped walk way and served food that made me want to cry in dirty glasses, plates, and silverware. All in all a bad bad bad experience.
google avatar

Yelp
It seriously doesn't get any better Wonderful people. Old School Supper Club charm. Fresh, fabulous food.

Yelp
I thought I knew what love was, and then I came here. Great wine, great food, and great service...and the ambience was an added bonus for me. Just go. I promise you will love it!
google avatar

George P.

Yelp
We were there for the first time on a Saturday. Had the roast duck special and stuffed haddock. Both meals were outstanding. Good selection of beers but the double Malibu and pineapple was weak. Our server, Zack, was awesome.

Diane I.

Yelp
What a wonderful place and a piece of Americana! We had a party of six for a "family reunion" dinner in a beautiful dining room. Everyone loved their dinners - walleye, perch, ribs, beef tenderloin, haddock. And fabulous wine! Friendly service. We had a wonderful evening.
google avatar

Marla H.

Yelp
The food is great! The staff is very unfriendly. The bartenders are not friendly. The waitresses act like you are bothering them if you ask for a drink, napkin etc... It is a shame because the food is delicious!
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
I will never go back to this place again. We put our name in and sat at the bar for over 2 hours waiting to be seated! People that came in after us got seated ahead of us! We got ticked off and left! I guess if your not part of the "click" that patronizes this place, you wait, and wait, and wait. We have been here in the past and the food isn't that great either, don't waste your time and money.
google avatar

Randall G.

Yelp
I can't believe that no one else has reviewed this restaurant. Perhaps because it is shown as being located on the map in Omro when it is actually in Butte des Morts. The food here is some of the best I've had. My lady friend had the Prime Rib and it is the best ever had. This place gets busy. Better make reservations. You'll love the atmosphere.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fantastic burger out in the middle of nowhere, Wednesdays at Jimmie's White House Inn just northwest of Oshkosh (on the way to Winneconne) has $2 burgers and I think $2.50 cheeseburgers ... amazing. I've tried every type of cheeseburger -- the Swiss with Mushroom is outstanding, the Bleu Cheese is fantastic, I don't think you can go wrong. AND Civil War buffs -- the owner's grandfather was in the Civil War, and he has some stuff hangin' on the wall that is awesome! I'd love to go back for a more "romantic" evening and try the rest of their food -- the dining room is nice, the bar area is a GREAT Wisconsin bar area (ask about his grandfather's Civil War musket over the bar), but there is a little room overlooking the garden that is about as romantic as I've ever seen. I'd probably give it a 3.75, because service sometimes seems really slow when it's busy (DUH!) I'm saying it's $ (on Wednesdays) but usually it's probably $$, especially with drinks.

Don P.

Yelp
We stopped by over the 4th-of-July weekend as part of our ongoing quest to hit up as many excellent Wisconsin supper clubs as we possibly could. Jimmie's is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the short side trip (or longer and more scenic alternate route). I went with the tenderloin, and my wife had the crab-stuffed haddock. Both of us were very impressed with the food and the attentive servers, and we enjoyed old-fashioneds and manhattans that not only tasted great but were priced such that we seriously considered staying in their parking lot over the weekend :-) Special mention about the potato pancakes, which to our surprise and delight were stuffed with cheese and were oh so savory. Pleasant suprises await you at Jimmie's.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
This place was fabulous. We're visiting from the west coast (i.e. We're spoiled when it comes to food), and this was the best place we tried in Oshkosh. The garlic stuffed tenderloin was to die for - try it with the lemon sauce instead of the gravy it comes with. The building has been here for almost a century, and it's a great spot to check out for some local deliciousness

Yelp
This is by far the best restaurant in the area. I happened upon it because a friend said that they make a good steak. I got the char ribbed ribeye. The food was outstanding. The service was maybe a little so-so as they seem to hire a lot of young people who aren't very experienced, but overall a very nice job. The interior decor includes some civil war memorabilia. Now I'll admit that I'm not a fan of the rebel flag on the front sign, but they do present it in a historical perspective, so I'm willing to look the other way.

Curt M.

Yelp
I have been coming to the near by lake for 30 years. Trying to find a good meal in the area has always been a challenge. I'm not sure I would give White House 4 stars if it was located in Chicago, yes I'm a FIB, but my visits this summer have all resulted in a level of satisfaction I thought not possible in the land of poorly prepared bar food. The Friday pearch fish fry has been consistently above average. But get your order in early. We got the last three plates and it was only 9 PM. The pearch is lightly battered and cooked to perfection. The steak lovers in our party have given the steaks high marks for quality of cut and preperation. The homemade soups and deserts are another plus. The salads could have greater variety in greens. What is it about iceberg lettuce in Wisconsin. I would also suggest a steak sause or two be added for the steak lovers. I know the chef has the talent for a homemade sauce or two. Staff tries hard to accomadate menue request changes. Go Pack!
google avatar

Rachelle R.

Yelp
Their fried shrimp is great, you can order with light breading and they are huge! Their pan fried walleye is also good. My parents always like the duck on Saturdays. I have never had a bad meal here and most of the wait staff is very attentive and helpful! My family goes there at least a couple times a year!

Tres W.

Yelp
Dinner there last night. My ribeye was prepared as ordered. Clearly not prime grade beef but acceptable. Wife's veal Oscar was inedible. Too salty and just plain tasted bad. Won't go back again.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
We have eaten here before but this morning was brutal. The service was horrible. We watched the ice melt in our bloody mary's from a far. Then when we received them the pour spout from the mix was in one of our drinks. The food was real greasy and mushy

Tom B.

Yelp
Had our wedding anniversary last Saturday evening with some good friends. As always the dinner selections by all were fantastic. Much to our surprise, we had a champagne toast brought to our table by Jimmie's. What a fantastic gift and totally unexpected. We'll be back and can't say how grateful we are to have Jimmie's help us celebrate our day.

Ed K.

Yelp
Third time and the last time. Noise level the last two times too loud. Almost had to yell at fellow diners. My Tavern Fried Fish was over cooked and tasteless. The waiter was young and forgot requested items ( a glass for my beer) had to go to the bar and get it myself. If you needed water you had to ask. My friends Wellington was burned on top. Told the waiter we weren't coming back and he did say sorry to hear that but made no attempt to advise the mgt. Sorry White House but you are crossed off our EAA Air Adventure places to eat.
