White Moon Cafe & Dark Moon Cocktail Bar

We stopped in for Sunday morning brunch with the hubby. It was such a great atmosphere, and the service was quick. We had the house bloody Mary, and the sandwich was called Guodanuff. It was so delicious. Sweet and salty and perfect. I would definitely recommend this cute little spot. We enjoyed sitting outside.

We stopped in for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. It sits on the main street with seating inside and out. Very cute little coffee shop with a great selection from the kitchen. We decided to split the lox and scheme. It is smoked salmon in a large bagel with cream cheese, capers, pickled onions and dill. Absolutely mouth watering. We had a vanilla latte and a drip coffee to go with out lox. Both were satisfying. We highly recommend stopping in here. It has good vibes and the staff is very friendly. We will stop back on future trips to try more from the menu.

While it was a little pricy, it was absolutely worth it. The quality was so good and they had house made gluten free bagels, which is a dream as someone who doesn't eat gluten. Plus my chai was amazing. Very beautiful spot and the workers had great energy.

Popped in on our way home to Ga as I was in urgent need of coffee. Kind of a coffee snob and WAS SO pleasantly surprised. Was the perfect shop tbh. Staff was friendly, love the whole vibe with the furniture and colors used. Got an iced latte and it was delicious. My only complaint about a I should have gotten a bigger one if I would have known it was so good 😊 Will definitely swing back in if I am every in the area

Cute Cafe with lots of ambience. They have lots of options for vegans and non-vegans alike. I had one of the vegan muffins, a vegan latte made with their house-made syrup and also house made cashew milk. And I had their avocado toast which has very generous portions of avocado. That's nice because a lot of places skimp on avocado. We also had the sunrise smoothie which was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend for a delicious breakfast!

There are so many wonderful places in Sylva and this is high up there on the list. It's really cute inside, firstly. Secondly, everything I ordered was delicious - the garden bagel, green machine smoothie, and matcha latte (with a seasonal homemade syrup). Highly, highly recommend!

This is my go to place in town to grab a bite to eat on a busy day. The Paulie G is my favorite sandwich, maybe ever. It’s a simple click of a button to order and pick up a sandwich and coffee and when I have a client meeting or work date, also white moon, every single time. I love the atmosphere, owners, staff, essence. Everything is dialed in to make you feel warmly welcomed into this wonderful town and put a smile on your face. Grateful they are here and whenever we have guests in town I ALWAYS suggest grabbing a bite here on the way in or out of town.

I had breakfast with my family in here today and I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We tried the crescent cove croissant and it was the best thing ever! We also tried the Maple Almond Cookie and bought some more for to go. Love the atmosphere end the creativity on the decor. Surely we’ll be back next vacation.

One thing about me a LOVE a local coffee shop! White Moon is a terrific local spot in Sylva and every time I am in town I try to stop in. This visit I was able to spend some time there and catch up on some reading while sipping my cappuccino and eating a fantastic breakfast sandwich. What stuck out to me the most was the staff they are incredibly friendly, helpful and patient. The woman working the cash register greeted everyone that came in differently like it was a pleasure getting to meet each person. There were some people walking around bussing tables and pointing out places to sit to anyone that was looking for a spot. It was a bit busy so I did not read as long as I would have liked to but if I'm being honest I could have read there all day, I loved the vibe. Also special note of thanks to White Moon: back in late September when Hurricane Helene hit they, like many businesses, had to close but they posted their WiFi and password so people that did not have cell service or internet could connect with loved ones.... that was next level kindness!

Cute little coffee shop on Main St. We ordered a flat white, oatmeal cookie and Gouda nuff breakfast sandwich which was delicious!

We thought the coffee here was spectacular. I had the special of the month which was a raspberry thyme latte and he had a lavender latte. This was one of those lattes where inhaled it and wanted to order another round it was so good. Be also had the biscuit sandwich with pimento cheese and subbed the bacon out for turkey. This place is such a gem in a tiny town! The food was delicious and gluten free. The service was great. All the young women working were kind, knowledgeable and very helpful. The vibe is so fun, relaxing and full of plants. Just a chill place to be with great drinks and food.

I usually don't leave negative reviews but our experience at White Moon was very unpleasant. To start, our barista was literally texting someone behind the register while we were ordering. I could see clearly see her phone. I've worked in specialty coffee for 8 years and personally manage a shop and have never seen this before. It was completely unprofessional. Next, when I went to use the restroom there was a large black curtain hanging by the sink. Since the curtain was facing the wall where the bar was, I wanted to pull it back just to make sure that it didn't lead directly to the bar-- it almost felt like a dressing room where the open room is just on the other side of the curtain. I open the curtain to check and there is a 9ft terrifying halloween statue right behind the curtain that made me scream and almost shit my pants. NOT a pleasant experience. Imagine if a kid was using the restroom, having that there was just completely unnecessary and almost felt like a setup. Overall the coffee was pretty good but the service and vibes were all off.

Absolutely love the vibes of this coffee shop, and late night bar. It got busy quickly but the barista kept it under control (I was impressed!) I ordered the lox & schmear bagel and a delicious iced matcha with honey and lavender. There is plenty of seating with very cool decor and games/puzzles. Will definitely have to come back with friends for a hangout.

5 stars! Cute little coffee shop with great sammies, coffee, and outdoor seating. The service is nice and efficient and the ambiance is spot on.

Great local cafe' with coffee options, smoothies, scones, muffins, sandwiches, and more. You order at the counter where you can help complete a puzzle (or not). They give you a number and call your name when your order is ready. We grabbed a game of Connect Four to play and everything we ordered was delicious. If we are ever driving through the town of Sylva again, we will now purposefully stop at White Moon.

This place is legit. Their honey biscuit is worth the trip. Service is top notch and very friendly. Cute little small town coffee shop that turns into a bar at night. Love the atmosphere and turkey sandwich add bacon.

I dropped by Sylva's gem of a coffee shop, White Moon, recently while driving down to Atlanta. Very friendly staff, great food and pastries, enjoyable experience overall. The cozy, deep booth seats had comfy pillows in them that you could sink into, which was quite nice after four hours of driving. All in all, if I lived closer, I'd be here all the time! Thanks so much, y'all!

The variety of coffees and other drink / food options here are outstanding. The only downside to this trendy shoppe is the size. It is very small and during brunch hours on the weekend, it is difficult to find a seat. They do use pottery cups and plates instead of disposables which is cool! Highly recommended.

Anytime we come to the mtns we love to eat out . The avacado toast here is full of flavor . Thats all I ever get but they have bagels, coffee, gluten free items . The place is always packed . Fast service and really friendly. You can dine in only no seating outside . Its right in the downtown off the beaten path .

The spot to go in Sylva. I went 4 times in 3 days and am a huge fan of the coffee, lattes, breakfast pastries, egg sandwiches and my personal fav the Paulie g. I even woke up early to grab a Paulie g to go for my flight back to nyc. I'll be a regular at white moon on my next trip. Ps - it's easy to order online too for a grab and go lunch to bring on your hike or river picnic.

The food at this cafe is always wonderful!!The service is always very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is a relaxed eclectic. One of our very favorite places in Sylva. We will continue to keep coming back. Absolutely love it!!

This is an adorable coffee shop! It's on the small side, but they have it set up in a way that makes it cozy,not crowded. They serve coffee, tea, smoothies, and even mimosas! They offer sandwiches and salads as well. This is a spot we will be stopping at every time we're in town!

My partner and I stayed I Sylva during our vacation to the Great Smokies. This coffee shop has been the beginning of our morning adventures throughout the week, so I can't recommend this place enough. Their coffee tastes AMAZING and their fall signature syrups were to die for. They perfectly balanced with the coffee and it was a great start to the autumn season. If you're in the area and need a quick pick me up before the beautiful hikes, I would advise coming here for some coffee and breakfast sandwiches!

Sylva NC is a true foodie town with so many different choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner and later. Last week we visited White Moon a quaint eatery that by day is known as White Moon, but is known as Dark Moon a wine bar at night. This was a nice place to sit and chat, enjoy good coffee (great Baristas) and some mouthwatering breakfast sandwiches. The service was great and or orders were completed with speed and precision. Note: the weekends can be busy so be patient if you want to sit and eat.

Absolutely in love with this sweet little shop! From the moment I walked in, I loved the vibe, the music and the staff were all so happy and sweet! The syrups are made in house and my mocha latte was PERFECT! All of the sandwiches and food I saw looked amazing. Decent amount of seating inside and a few tables outside as well. LOVE this place, it is a MUST TRY!

Although one must be patient when ordering here, the food is worth the wait. We love the lox and schmear especially the fresh dill! Today I had a smoothie that was pricey(9.00) but soo fresh and delicious with such healthy ingredients (no sugary fruit syrup!). Coffees are good too! Staff is patient and kind. A lovely little spot on the backside of Sylva.

White Moon coffee shop felt like a warm and welcoming haven on the chilly morning found it. The coffee was spot on, and the cozy atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and warm up. The friendly staff added to the overall experience, and you can bet I'll be making White Moon a permanent stop every time I'm in Sylva!

What an amazing little coffee shop off the beaten path! Tremendous drip and my wife loved her iced black tea, plus we shared the Brass Monkey smoothie and it was DELICIOUS!

This is a great go to place for me and my friends! Great coffee, teas, and everything that we have tried off of the food menu has been delicious. I would definitely recommend checking out dark moon as well. All baristas have been super friendly!

THIS is the pre-mountain-adventure coffee spot you're looking for! I was surprised to find a lot of the coffee options around here don't open early. White Moon was open at 7:00, which made it the obvious choice. And I'm so thankful for that because it was quite literally the best drip coffee I've ever had. Rich and smooth and bold without that burnt aftertaste. The drip coffee was $3 no matter what size, paper cup or a mug, and they are happy for you to grab a refill. They also have a variety of breakfast options, from muffins and scones to heartier options prepared fresh in the kitchen. I opted for a house made biscuit with bacon, avocado, and a strawberry rhubarb jam (it normally comes with an egg, but I'm not a fan). It was delightful and kept me going until lunch at 2. My husband had avocado toast and an oatmilk latte and he was happy with his, too. The vibe was super chill and welcoming! Plenty of comfortable seating and surrounded by happy healthy plants. The service was super friendly and helpful. This place gave me all the happy feelings. But wait, there's more! They open back up in the evening as a cocktail bar! We couldn't help but check it out. The same chill vibe extends into the evening with a hint of unpretentious sophistication. Beautiful cocktails and very friendly service in the evening, as well. Wonderful all around!!

Best executed coffee and espresso-based drinks in all of Western NC. It is honestly hard to find a good (not overly roasted) bean in this area. White Moon developed a blend with Steamline Coffee in Waynesville that is slightly fruity, but also has those familiar roasty notes you associate with a good cup o' joe . Their food menu is also thoughtful executed. Staff is always friendly. I have yet to try Dark Moon, but if they have put as much care and thought into that as they have their AM offerings, I'm sure it is stellar as well!

Whatever it was I ate, it was VERY YUMMY. The sandwich had a biscuit for the bun and some sauce that was sweet but also spicy. The sandwich had cheese, bacon, and an avocado! Super filling and great tasting. But the kicker was the green smoothie because you really don't find that too many places. I looooooove green smoothies and this one was great! What a little gem of a place in a great town.

Visited the smoky mountains for a few days with the girlfriend and we had a great time here. Came here half our mornings to grab coffee before a day or hiking and exceeded our expectations every time. Their signature syrups (Campfire, Apple Spice) so good!!

I'd give it TEN stars if that was an option! It's my 'Cheers,' where they 'know my name' & my regular orders. I'd go there every day if I could! It's got the friendliest staff EVER, wonderful owners & FABULOUS food & drinks!!! Every time I plan to go out with friends it's always "Let's go to White Moon!" Have taken friends & family alike & they all LOVE it!!!

We have a small cottage in downtown Sylva that we visit often. We love the town and especially love the White Moon coffee shop! The place has a very relaxed vibe, the staff is always friendly and helpful and the food and coffee are excellent. Our favorites are the egg Sammy, Gouda Nuff and any of the multiple choices of baked goods. We would go there every morning if possible.

This place has the best chai latte I have ever had! Their sandwiches and pastries are also absolutely great. I appreciate their focus on seasonal, local ingredients. We only are in the area on a monthly basis, but never miss the chance to go to White Moon.

We have been going here for awhile now, the food and service has always been great until recently. The past two times we have gone they have given us incorrect items from what we ordered or in todays case, gave us two salads togo when only 2 sandwiches were ordered. This was AFTER repeating the order multiple times. Keep in mind they were also not busy at all at this time, leading to much frustration.

My best friend and I go to dark moon as much as we can. Billy is our favorite mixologist in town. He knows our orders and gives excellent attention to detail. Everyone is very kind and respectful. Not to mention in a college town it's nice to find a place with a good vibe. Very aesthetically pleasing :) Most everything is made in house and it shows. Such beautiful and tasty drinks.

Stepped into this cozy coffee shop in downtown Sylva and enjoyed one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had! The turkey sandwich was delicious as well! The owners were friendly, attentive and fun to talk to. We will be back soon!

We popped in on a rainy afternoon for a couple of cold brews. White Moon has a really cool vibe. A couple of small cafe tables outsides and a hipster-ish inside feel. It seems like they specialize in specialty cocktails, small portion meals, and coffee. The cold brews were pretty good but not quite 5 star. The staff was nice and friendly. I'd stop in again if I needed another afternoon pick-me-up but I probably wouldn't be a regular.

I wish I could show you the blueberry muffin but it was so good I ate it. Well I shared it with my Husband :-) It was the best, fresh, light real big yummy blueberrys. The coffee is the best in Sylva! See you there soon :-)

Does not look like much when you walk by, but inside is a tiny treasure for coffee lovers and breakfast seekers in Sylva or near WCU. Baristas are well trained and create lovely latte art. Menu is very fresh (local?) and made to order. You can sit among their myriad of plants inside or outside to watch the world drift by.
