D.C. Shuts Down Iconic Maine Avenue Fish Market After Crowds Pack in Like Sardines | Eater DC

"One vendor, Captain Billy White, spent $1,800 on private security to enforce the social distancing policy at his three stalls, but pictures circulated from the weekend showed that the expense was for naught as crowds still packed the lines." - Gabe Hiatt

So we came for lunch on Christmas Eve and we ordered a grilled salmon on a kale Cesar salad and tomato soup and a bowl of chicken chilli and chicken wings. The salad was yummy and the chili was good but the tomatoe soup tasted like they poured tomato sauce from a can and served it to me. The. Chickens Inga’s were the best my husband has had fi. A long time. Nice dry rub. There was hardly anyone I. The restaurant but the service was not good and all. They didn’t Acknowledge us when we came into the restaurant. Also, it took a very long time to get anyone to take our order. And when they brought our food, they didn’t even bring spoons which you need to eat chili and tomato soup with. It’s a nice view of the slopes when you look out the window.

Great food and atmosphere. Ordered a chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Sara my server was great and Russel the manager was super friendly. Paola at the front desk was very hospitable as well.

They got our Dinner out before they could get us our drinks. We split the Cowboy Nachos. First of all, I don't think I've ever had Nachos that used Vinegar & Salt Potato Chips...as the base. 2nd , There was no cheese melted, no cheese at all. The add on's ,Hause Chile..was cold, and stokes chili out of a can is better and the Chicken was Cold and old. My Wife got stomach issues after the meal. It was ok atmosphere, but the bartenders were paying way more attention to the folks at the bar than their servers trying to get drinks for their tables. This was for New Years Eve. The Strawberry Cheesecake was very good.

This place had pretty good first impressions we get there with our reservation and we were seated pretty quickly. Once we were seated it was about 30 minutes before anyone said anything. Then finally the manager came over and told us her forgot to tell someone that there were people at the table and they needed to serve us. We finally ordered and got our food. Our food was pretty good but not our favorite. It took a while and it wasn’t the best food but not bad at all.

I should preface with stating I stopped in at this venue for a concert during music fest. I was disappointed at how avoidant the wait staff appeared to be towards patrons. Every table had to wave someone down to ask for service. It took over 30 minutes to get someone’s attention to serve our table. The food and atmosphere were good but the service was lacking. I would give this place another shot on a regular day but judging from the reviews it may not be too different.

What a delightful little spot right off the mountain. The atmosphere was classy yet comfortable. We sat on the patio for some ice cold drinks and delicious appetizers. The wings and tacos were excellent and the tots were to die for. Millie was a fantastic attentive bartender, making us feel not just welcomed, but right at home. The manager, Megan came out to chat and check to make sure we were doing well and even offered to take photos of our group. I highly recommend stopping here next time you're in Steamboat.

Can honestly say, it was the most poorly run and operated restaurant slope side I’ve ever experienced. Had a reservation at 5:15, mostly empty, still had to wait. Service and management was trying, but failed miserably.

Yelp
Recommended by our condo manager. 4 for dinner. Wonderful waiter. Good food. Nice ambiance. Clean, convenient, and busy. Did I mention great cocktails.

Yelp
The food was good but expensive. The worst part was they charged $14 for a kid's meal of noodles , butter and Parmesan. The serving was the same size as the adult pasta dish. It was 4x more than a child would eat!

Yelp
When we first walked in we had to wait at the hostess stand for a good 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. The sever then told us, "take a seat, but we're slammed." We had to then grab our own menus. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before I asked someone if we could order. The bartender came over and took our order, which I thought well at least we'll get our drinks fast-not the case. We waited over 10 minutes again before asking about our drinks. Anyways, it went on like this. Oh, and then they accidentally brought a sparkling rose with our drink order and charged us for it. To cap off the experience we got the check with no pen, but again no one was eager to help us. The food was decent, but not worth the experience. Disappointing experience. Not recommended.

Yelp
Felt compelled to share how rude the bartender was. She was condescending and seemed irritated if we asked for simple things (a menu, plates, a box, etc.) as if we were out of line and she was too good to do that. The food was decent enough, but the entire experience was ruined by the service.

Yelp
I've noticed a lot of negative reviews for this place and don't know why! We came here for breakfast one morning (it is also called Unravel Coffee). I'll start by saying that it is inside a hotel, but that shouldn't put anyone off. It's a cool atmosphere and if you sit out on the patio you have a great view of the gondolas and base area. We got the avocado toast and kids breakfast tacos. Both were outstanding. I would go back just for the side salad alone. You order at the counter and get a number, but the server still checked on us multiple times after we got our food. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Yelp
Came here for the coffee (Unravel) and stayed to enjoy a delicious kale caesar and conversation with Nestor. This place seems to be a great hangout for all demographics :)

Yelp
We had dinner here last night after getting into our hotel and feeling too lazy to leave. And it was delicious! We shared the lamb bolognese and the squash enchiladas. The sauce on both dishes was the perfect balance of flavors. Service was great.

Michael G.

Yelp
Was disappointed having driven over for breakfast that they weren't actually serving the breakfast menu on their website under the Unravel Coffee Menu. The options were more limited. Or alternatively you could get their $25 buffet. Basically scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and fruit. Much better options at spots in town.

Yelp
Don't waste your time or money going here. The food is not good. The kale salad we ordered came with COLD salmon pieces that were over salted. The salad tasted like nothing. The chicken sandwiches were just ok. The steak tasted like nothing even garnering comparison to old meat. I give it 1 star for the good service. However, she overdid it with saying how great everything was. The only good item was the cornbread

Yelp
This is the first time I've ever left a review on ANYTHING. I felt compelled to in this case as we simply stopped in for a drink after dinner and this seemed like a nice place. The bar and space is very nice and the ambience is great but the bartender could not have been more rude. I could go on as to the details but we had one drink and left and all agreed that we would never come back again.

Yelp
This place has gotten mixed reviews since it opened. We decided to go anyway and judge for ourselves. The ambience, despite being in a hotel, is very nice, so definitely a win there. Service: The hostess was not welcoming at all - she could aleast appear to be happy even if she is not. Our waitress on the other hand was outstanding - she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and quickly corrected an order mishap. She was trying really hard and we appreciated it. Food: The cornbread appetizer was excellent. The wings were also great, just not very meaty. For entrees, the chicken sandwich was good, the salmon over rice was excellent and the kale salad with grilled chicken was simple and pleasant. We had the cookie skillet for dessert, which was warm and perfectly portioned. Overall - great spot for an average meal. I wasn't disappointed and I wasn't blown away.

Yelp
Wow. Bartender was condescending to my DIL because she was 'barely 21' even though she's 22. If someone pays the bill, what does it matter? Sour taste from the start. Cute place. Poor service.

Daniel K.

Yelp
This bar was super elegant and very cool to experience. It was very close to our house and thought we would give it a try. However, our experience changed when we got there and the bartender was extremely rude and made several comments to us. Even if this is close to our house, I will never come back to a business that treats my family and I like this.

Yelp
Took 30 minutes to get a beer with an empty bar don't recommend. Appetizers were okay but not worth it.

Yelp
First time to Steamboat. Saw some ugly reviews and went anyway. So glad we did. Fried Zucchini was crispy and thin. Perfecto. Enchilada was tasty and just right amount of spice. Sweater weather was fresh and crisp. Drinks were also good. Service and ambiance rounded out a nice evening.
