White Rock Alehouse & Brewery

Such a great spot! They have a ton of outdoor seating - a very unsuspecting beer garden from the front. Tons of parking because you’re in a shopping center. We went on a Friday night and there was PLENTY of seating. I love a reliable place where you don’t have to wait for a table. The food and beer options are good - nothing insanely special in my opinion but a great place nonetheless. We got the pretzel bites and the $8 burger special (Fridays only) - what a steal! We’ll be back!

Nice brewery located close to the arboretum. The menu has options for the fish lover or the beef eaters, and everything in between. Service was great! Good drinks! Fun atmosphere. Dine indoor or outside, both are great options.

Don't order after 10.. by 930 all you hear is shuffling chairs and the angst of employees ready to leave on a Friday. Inside/Outside it doesn't matter. If you're a patron please don't waste time and just leave. 30 minute's passed before asking if "are you guys okay?" Yeah we are definitely okay at this point- direct me to the exit.

Patty melt w loaded fries eith side if brussel sprouts .. delish! Topped it off w a jalapeños margarita. Was able to catch the game without all the loudness n fuss. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been here multiple times and the issue remains the same. This place is empty and the service is slow for no reason. I asked for a chilled drink twice and it’s still serviced hot. Again still not busying. Bartender is walking around listening to AirPods. My drink has been empty for 20 mins now. I didn’t know I needed to flag down a bartender at a local brewery for a drink after she walked passed my drink 3 times to see it’s empty. Nothing has changed since my previous experience.

Just a great place, to enjoy great food y a large variety of draft beer , I just love it .

If not, you’ll be sitting a while before anyone notices you’re waiting for service. Once our server did come out, he was very nice and make good beer recommendations. He also let us know they are about to open another location in Trinity Groves. We including my dog enjoyed our visit to ale house. If we come back, definitely for the beer and environment. Their menu options were just okay.

Great place for some brews and grub! They have an indoor area, a covered patio area and even an open picnic table style area. Family friendly as well. The beers were great and I can't get over how good the spread on my BLT was! Need the recipe! Will try to come back when we are in town! Highly recommend this place!

Esthetically appealing inside. Lots of seating, inside and out. It wasn't super busy so it was surprising the service was quite slow. Not sure if there just wasn't enough help. In fact, the appetizer came out with the food which was really disappointing. The alehouse salad was really good. My son enjoyed his burger, and my husband drank up the sourdough chili bowl. Other than the slow service, I would try again

Nice place near biking & walking trails adjacent to White Rock Lake. Ahi Tuna Nachos are an absolute must try. Seems to pair with most of their rotation. Attentive staff is fairly knowledgeable in their space. Great place explore your craft beer palette

Everything was great! Had the blonde (Big Thicket), Belgian quad (Addie Squad), and the red ale (Large for a Leprechaun) and liked em all. Fried brownie bites were also good and a generous serving. Great prices too - $6 for a full pour is hard to find at breweries these days

White Rock Alehouse never disappoints. I've been here a few times and I will say -- the service is always prompt and friendly, the food is always fresh, and they have an amazing collection of beers. It's always very clean and with an appropriate temperature to match the weather!! WRAB, is definitely a neighborhood gem!! and i often stop here after I've had a really long walk on the santa fe trail. If you need a snack while on the trail, don't hesitate pop in, the staff will definitely take care of you!!

Beer: Great! Tried several. Like them all. Location: Great! Patio is comfortable even in summer. Indoor and bar seating as well. Food: Mediocre. It's average bar fare. It's not bad but it's nothing special. Service: Bad! Servers - spend more time with customers and less gossiping amongst yourselves. Manager - stop flirting with your staff - they're not interested... Prices: Over. At least there's plenty of parking...

Great for walking, jogging, cycling, skating, or whatever! 9 plus mile loop! Clean and safe.

I came here for a dinner with a large group and was blown away by the fantastic service and excellent food. The server was with us as soon as we sat down to get orders and checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well. He handled a group of around 20 without any problems at all. The creamsicle beer was interesting, but also refreshing. However the fish and chips really stole the show. I would order that again any day. I would definitely recommend White Rock Alehouse!

A very good flatbread pizza. The Margherita has a crispy, flakey and flavorful crust. I usually prefer cherry tomatoes to tomato slices but it worked very well here due to its freshness. Creamy and tasty mozzarella. I look for to coming back!

The food and service here are ok. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again if I had to, but it won't be at the top of my list.

I was first introduced to this place after riding bikes with my fiancé. What a fun hang out and patio situation for friends and family! We've been here at least three times in the last six months and I have to say my favorite menu item is the Caesar grilled chicken salad. It is the best Caesar grilled chicken salad I have found in DFW! We love stopping here when we ride to / back from white rock lake. I give it a four instead of a five because the service could be a little faster and more attentive. I highly recommend it to everyone in the area!

After a typical Saturday afternoon gym workout, I am both thirsty and starving. This place definitely satiated both. There is plenty of comfortable seating, at the bar, inside dining, and both patio areas on the side and back. The crowd was diverse and very laid back, and the staff was very friendly. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. The Big Thicket and White Rock IPA were great selections with distinct hop flavors, and the alehouse burger with the bacon jam and brioche bun was delicious and very well balanced. For the summer months, I recommend the dreamsicle as the go to desert drink that provides all the yumminess of orange vanilla cream bliss.

It's 106 today(7/20). You know where people want to dive into on a day like today? A cold as crap bar with the AC cranked down low with cold beer. This place is hot and the beer is just barely cold enough to drink. I'm hot. I'm just sitting on a barstool not moving but still sweating. The people sitting around me are also hot. It's a topic of conversation when strangers have nothing else to talk about. The hustling bartender is also obviously hot. I ask the hostess to turn down the AC. She's also hot. After watching the thermostat being ignored, word gets back to us that the owners won't allow it to go below 72. I don't give a S what your thermostat reads. If your customers and your staff are miserable then F the reading on your stoopid thermostat! So, it seems the tight wad owners would rather pinch a few pennys instead of taking care of their customers and staff. I might be back in February b/c I know it won't be hot and the beer will be cold but then again the cheap owners probably won't allow the heat to be turned on.

After walking around all morning at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, we were ready for some food! This place is about a mile away and we received a 15% off coupon while we were at the gardens. I was a bit skeptical coming here because of all the poor reviews on Yelp. However, I was also too lazy to go search around when my brain is hangry. Anyway, the food turned out good! I ordered the chicken sandwich. It was not spicy at all and ended up being better than I expected from the reviews. They have a nice patio at the back. The service was alright. Our food took a little long to come out, and you serve yourself water (despite being a sit down restaurant) at the cooler.

We live pretty close by and we meet friends here every once in a while for some beers and food. Everything is great here they have a lot of variety and drinks and the food is delicious and the staff is really friendly.

Thanks to White Rock Alehouse for having us the Greater East Dallas Chamber for so many events and meetings and just being a go to place in East Dallas. Great service, & food.

This brew pub should be an unrivaled success with its heart of Lakewood location, right on the Santa Fe trail and mere steps away from White Rock...who doesn't want a cold beer and bar food after a ride or run (or in my case, walk) around the lake? What a great place to share a patio afternoon drinking with friends or to meet a fellow mom for a midweek lunch? Who doesn't long for a reliable restaurant where you can take out a smorgasbord of fried meat and starch that will satisfy the myriad of cravings, food aversions and downright eating disorders that have made you despise the thought of cooking dinner? If the order isn't ready when you arrive to pick it up, there is beer! How could it fail? But fail it does, on almost every level imaginable. The menu is uninspired and falls short of even the most modest standards of variety. It appears to be driven by last year's food fads, with little intention put in to offering dishes what people actually want to eat. Yes, they have three versions of flatbread, but none that a preteen would be interested in ordering. They also have three versions of burger...beef, turkey and bean-based patty, and chicken sandos in both fried and grilled varieties. All of the above are described on the menu without an ounce of inspiration. Your remaining entree options are either salad, or fish and chips. The single dessert offering is fried brownie bites. No thank you. Even the most I'll-conceived menu can find redemption in well-executed and tasty food, but White Rock Ale House misses the mark here as well. The fish and chips were heavy on batter and light on fish and the accompanying fries were on the cold side and tasted as if they'd been cooked in overused oil. The salad we ordered was over-dressed. While we didn't try them, we watched two other patrons leave the ahi tuna nachos they were sharing practically untouched. Some may question the motivation behind this dismal review, and trust me, I am getting there. Putting aside the crappy menu and the poor quality of the food, the ultimate reason I (and I suspect others) won't return is the obnoxious employee attempting to hold court at the bar, distracting the bartenders from serving patrons with jokes and comments that were consistently in poor taste. I'm not sure if he is a manager or a cook, but whoever he is, he wasn't doing his job, was keeping others from doing theirs, and seemed to be taking delight in offending the customers. I can't guarantee that he was drinking, but it would surprise me if he wasn't. For a business that has so much going for it, White Rock Ale House is squandering opportunity on a monumental level.

Great food, got sat immediately! Burgers were amazing! Greta vibe for a warm summer or spring day, especially on the weekend!

Consistently bad food. Consistently bad service. It's a local spot and we live nearby so we kept going, trying to let them figure it out. But it's been years, it's just a waste of money. Used to go for games because they have tons of TV's, but they shut down and asked everyone to leave in the fourth quarter of a Mavs playoff game on a Saturday with a bar full of people. So.. not great for a game and a drink.

We got fish and chips the chips were perfect and the fish was great! Our service was attentive but not overbearing with a friendly smile. Ambiance was basic and kind of had a sports bar vibe Would have been 4 stars but lost a point for being out of the first five beers we asked for. Not an exaggerating... We enjoy coming to White Rock Alehouse but this visit, sadly, wasn't the greatest experience. The chicken sliders had a sweet and slightly spicy sauce on them, were topped with coleslaw on brioche buns. They flavor was pretty good but there were a couple of tough, dried out edges of the chicken which did not make for a pleasant bite. Their homemade chips would've been much better if there were made fresh to order, most were pretty crisp but there were a few, tough and soggy ones that again, really took away from the flavor and overall dinner experience. It's not very far from our house and we definitely love visiting locally owned restaurants in the area so I would go back and order something else as we've eaten here before and everything else had been excellent prior to this visit.

Patio service can be VERY slow. Then, to rub salt in wound, the MINIMUM tip amount starts at 20%. Today, I say for ~20 minutes before getting service as the waiter apparently "left" and we weren't reassigned. This is not first time service is slow. I will say, great access to bikers on White Rock Lake trails. I'll be back!

Their beers are good/interesting and the patio is nice but the food is very meh. Nashville hot chicken which was recommended by the server. The bun was hard like hockey puck like they forgot about it in the toaster for 10 min. I've never experienced such a thing in 30years of eating out. It was so bad that had to ask for a replacement bun which I don't like to do. The chicken breast was small and over-cooked and there was not much Nashville hot flavor. 1/5 stars. I honestly wanted to send it back for a refund. I hate to be negative but the chicken sandwiches at most fast food places are better. The Brewben sandwich was better than the Nashville hot but my two friends both complained that the meat was chewy. The chips on both our plates was 80% crumbs. I mean is 50cents worth of fresh chips from a bag too much to ask? Our server was friendly and did a great job taking care of everyone so bonus points for that. This is the first new restaurant I've been to since getting vaccinated and it was very disappointed. I'd come back for a beer but *never* ordering food here again. 4/5 stars for the beer. 2/5 stars for the food.

Food was definitely not worth the price. The Margherita flatbread was sparsely topped and soggy bottomed. Tomato soup was like a jar of marinara in a bowl. The beer cheese dip for the pretzels felt like the cheese didn't melt correctly. Requested the patio, but was not warned of the large, loud group that was there for a birthday party - would have sat inside if it had been mentioned. Waitress was not around often - until time for bill payment, where she hovered over me to the point that I felt I was forced into the 20% tip because that was the lowest automated option. Probably not going back.

This place was a great find! Nice beer selection and also has a full service bar if beer isn't your thing. Service was great and very quick. It's also dog friendly so feel free to bring your furry friends. They have indoor seating and enclosed patio seating, as well as outdoor picnic tables. I had the queso fundido which was really good. I'm looking forward to coming back for trivia night and to try more things from their menu!

We absolutely love not only the atmosphere but the food and service of this long standing Lakewood establishment. When power has been out this great place finds a way to serve the community and is always accommodating and inclusive which can't be said for other "local" restaurants. Do yourself a favor pop over to this local spot the caliber of this cuisine will surprise your tastebuds!

The ambiance and decor are pretty cool here. There's plenty of TVs, an outdoor patio, and a nice bar, so anywhere you sit has a good view for a game. We only dropped in for a few beers so I can't speak to food but the beer was served cold and the service was quick. My husband enjoyed his beers, mine weren't my favorite, but I'm not a huge fan of hops and I feel like all of the beer I was recommended was still pretty hoppy to me. Honestly a nice experience overall.

This review is a perfect 5 stars due to our server, Casiera, who was a 10. The food and atmosphere were ok, not perfect. She created perfection for our evening, single-handedly with her humor and warmth.

Beer is good but food was pretty bad. The chips and fish were really dry and bland. I ordered a medium cooked burger and it came medium rare and mushy. The buns were also mushy. Fries were soggy. My girl friend said the ahi tuna wrap was really bad too

This review likely reflects the ongoing issues regarding hiring shortages within the service community, but still needs to be addressed about WRAB. On my last Sunday brunch visit with my girlfriend, the food was superb as it consistently is. However, THE SERVICE! :(((((( First, our two entrees came to our table 8 minutes apart. Second, our server was basically absent the whole time. During his retreat, I hijacked my date's water after chugging mine (it was very hot that day). He finally returned with ONE glass of water, not two. I my date and I both had to get another server's attention to retrieve our misplaced one, and that server literally had to shout at him to get his attention, even though he was only ten feet away, doing nothing. When we finally returned to our table, I asked for the check, and to remove from the tab the soda I had ordered at the beginning but never received. He acknowledged with a slight nod - no words, no apology. He did not receive my customary 30% tip, and really needs to find a job more conducive to his personality. Before I came to brunch that day, I had read WRAB had opened a second location. I find this disconcerting, as I would've made sure the original location was running up to speed before opening a second. I wish them success because they're local and the food/beers are really good. But please WRAB, get your service act together! I always have to recommend your restaurant with a strong caveat.

Pretty cool place in the White Rock neighborhood. Feels more like a restaurant than a brewery, but they make their own beers, and the couple I tried were pretty good. Prices were reasonable, especially for the area. Facility was nice, and had a big back patio for when the weather is better. Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza, and was ample. I just got an order of wings. No complaints, but nothing out of the ordinary about them either. Service was a bit 'meh'... but I think we just had a new person that was still learning the ropes. My review is more of a 4.5. I couldn't give it a 5, but it had some nice attributes that makes it stronger than a 4.

Very cute Brewery! They have two outdoor areas, one covered and another not. Cute casual ambiance and you can bring your dog. I had the Cannonball beer and it was very good. The burger and wings were good too. We will be back!

Cool brewery on the south tip of White Rock Lake. A local watering hole for bikers and walkers on the lake. Super laid back vibe. We had a great experience swinging by after our walk on the lake. They offer a wide variety of delicious local and US domestic brews and the service is great! They have a nice outdoor covered patio and the beer garden in the back is hip and a great place to bring a group of friends. All the beers are great and I especially loved the Texas pilsner which came served super chilled. Can't wait to go back and try their food!

This place is pretty busy for Saturday afternoon. It's at the end of a strip center with lots of seating. Enjoyed my ice cold and really smooth Big Thicket blonde Ale. It was light and had a nice finish. Good service. Sad that the only place i could smoke my cigar was out on the unshaded, windy, and cold back patio rather than on the side patio too.

Good food. Service not so good. They didn't seem to care whether we were ther or not.

On my first visit I sat at the bar for about 20 minutes and was ignored. Service doesn't get any worse. it's strange that every time I have run across White rock alehouse at events they have been wonderful. So I tried going to the alehouse and service was painfully SLOW! It was not busy either time. Not recommended.

Think of your favorite potato-based side dish anywhere -- fries, tater tots, cheese fries, hash browns ... whatever. Then go to White Rock Alehouse and order the Tater Kegs. Seriously, these things are so good they should be illegal. They are what they sound like: giant tater tots with cheese and bacon and chives stuffed inside. Whatever your previous favorite was will be replaced at the top of your list -- they're that good. You're welcome.

I love the tater kegs and the ambiance of the place. It's good for a first date or even just a social time with friends.

It's been years since I last reviewed here, and not much has changed. During trivia nights, the music is insanely too loud, almost competing with the trivia game! Wonderful to sit outside if the mosquitoes aren't biting. My biggest issue, though, has always been the menu: Every time I find something I like, it goes away. For example, when they first opened, I fell in love with a shrimp bisque special. And then it was gone. Later, a Caesar chicken wrap was acceptable. Then gone. I love, love, loved dunking the grill cheese into the tomato soup. Gone. Any place that serves beer next to a bike trail has a captive audience, but the menu is uninspiring. I really miss The Lot. Update: Wow. Someone from the Ale House responded to me, calling me names, claiming I'm out to harm them, etc. Geez. I guess now's the time to learn how to take constructive criticism. It's a skill.

Beer was good. Service a little spotty. Food decent enough. It may be near white rock but it's still as strip mall. I'll likely be back if I'm in the neighborhood but not worth making it a destination

Updated Review (March 23, 2019) Thank you Greg & Aaron for inviting my husband and I back to White Rock to sample some of your delicious food. My husband and I started with their delicious Tater Kegs and OMG they are good. They came out nice and hot with a side of ranch. Next we ordered the Fish & Chips, and the Filet Tip Pasta. Our food looked and tasted so good, that I didn't even think about taking a picture until my last bite.

The second to the last time my husband and I went there, we sat at our table for more then 10 minutes while no one came to greet us. We ended up leaving before anyone could show up and no they were not busy. Last time they didn't have the one item I wanted on the menu so that was a disappointment and the service was slow. We haven't been back since.

Terrible service very lazy asked for water was told to "go fill up a glass back there" made an attempt and it was empty.... After about 10 minutes they finally came and got us a couple glasses of water....my burger was ok my friends wedge salad was forgotten...I ordered funnel cake it's burnt I have a picture of that culinary masterpiece.....overall terrible experience I if had three hands I would vote three thumbs down

While the staff was very pleasant the menu is boring. The Hawaiian flatbread had a crust the thickness of a thin cracker. The pineapple was chopped into tiny pieces and only a few of them. The Canadian bacon was slivered and fewer than 10 pieces on the flatbread. Then a sweet and tangy bbq sauce was drizzled on the entire thing. It overwhelmed the flatbread. The appetizers are boring. Tater tots with jalapeño ranch dressing. Sigh...food is from Ben E Keith. This used to be a great place and then shipping issues became real over a year ago and have not improved. Wake up owners!

Only having beer and pretzels. Beers...good. Pretzels, cost too much, the mustard sauce tastes weird and the cheese sauce is bland. I don't recommend it. Atmosphere is good, indoor and outdoor seating is available.

I ordered the keg tots, pretzels and fish & chips...all were very good. My Hefeweizen beers were cold and hit the spot. I plan on returning soon and so should you...
