"Besides river views and stunning murals, Hongtu Hall is prized for its exquisitely crafted dim sum ranging from the classics to novel creations, as well as velvety congee and juicy roast meats. Make sure to try their shrimp dumplings and shrimp shaomai. Tableside tea service is also a nice touch. The restaurant is always busy during opening hours and reservations are accepted for guests staying in the hotel only. Other customers have to simply join the queue." - Michelin Inspector

Flavors of China

"Generously adorned with glass work and art, this graceful restaurant befits the famous hotel in which it is nestled. All tables have gorgeous river views that jazz up the dining experience. The menu features the best from all over China, with an emphasis on Huaiyang and Sichuan specialities, such as sunflower seed-fed chicken in rice wine sauce and scalded shredded eel in oil. Oenophiles are bound to be thrilled by the varied wine selection." - Michelin Inspector

Jade River

"Diners here unwind with a cup of tea freshly brewed by tea masters. The traditional garden, water features, exquisite woodwork and artisan Manchurian windows give it a serene feel. The food is, of course, no less impressive. Steamed sunflower seed-fed chicken is delivered straight from the farm daily. Baked pigeon with lemongrass and salt is another proud creation of the team. Also try various poultry and meats in white marinade." - Michelin Inspector

I recently stayed at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully located by the Pearl River, offering stunning views, especially in the evening. The lobby and common areas are elegant and well-maintained, giving a true sense of luxury. The room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with modern amenities and thoughtful touches that made the stay relaxing. The service was exceptional—staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations and arrangements. One highlight of the trip was discovering excellent sushi restaurants just a short walk from the hotel. It was the perfect way to enjoy both local culture and a bit of variety in dining. The hotel’s location made exploring Guangzhou very convenient.Overall, I’d highly recommend White Swan Hotel for anyone visiting Guangzhou, whether for leisure or business. It’s the perfect mix of comfort, style, and great location. I’d happily stay here again!

Our stay at the White Swan was simply wonderful. The five stars are absolutely well deserved! From the moment we walked in, the welcome felt so warm, and that care carried through our whole visit. We were travelling with elderly family members, and a few weeks before our trip we had made some enquiries. To our surprise, when we checked in the hotel had already prepared thoughtful details in the room — things like a handrail and a shower mat. It was such a small gesture, but it really touched us. It showed how much the White Swan genuinely thinks about guests’ comfort.During our stay, we had a few more requests and every time, Issac from the front desk helped us with such patience and kindness. He didn’t just solve the problem straight away, he also checked back to make sure everything was fine. Each time we returned to the hotel, he greeted us by name with such warmth — it really felt like coming home.Issac is truly a gem, and the White Swan is lucky to have him. Once again, this hotel never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone who wants not just five-star service, but also five-star heart.

On our 2 week family trip through China, one of my primary needs at any hotel we stayed at was the availability of a laundry room. When I found the White Swan, I was surprised but pleased that they listed a LAUNDRY ROOM onsite, which is unusual for a 5 star hotel. I found out on arrival that they do not have a laundry room. When I complained and showed the manager the error on their listing, I was offered a 30% discount on the laundry service. Even with the USD currency advantage, this discount is meaningless when it costs like $10USD to wash a single pair of socks. When I lodged my complaint on Trip.com, I was given the preposterous response that by "Laundry Room", they meant they are able to wash laundry onsite, but guests are not allowed to access it. By definition, that is not an amenity. Quite frankly, they should have just apologized and then I would have been less angry. Dealing with my laundry situation became a fiasco and I needed to spend half a day of time to find a service somewhere in the city to take care of 1 week's worth of laundry for a family of 5. An absolute shame to waste time on this on vacation. Shame on your White Swan! Shame on you Trip.com!!Regardless of the the treatment I received and the arrogance of more than one of the staff members I encountered at the White Swan, the hotel is beautiful, historic and in a great location. Though overpriced, the quality of the restaurants are also quite good.

We were supposed to make a trip to Guilin but changed our mind the very last minute. Aa we've not visited Shamian Island, we made a last minute booking at the White Swan. I was rather worried and apprehensive as I read some poor reviews. When I arrived at the hotel lobby, my first impression already started to change. We had asked for a smoking room and the front desk staff told us that it's only available on a lower floor. Though a little disappointed we agreed to take the room as we wanted to check in and rest. However, the staff managed to get one of the smoking rooms in a higher floor as cleaning was completed. Stepping into our river view room was the 2nd great impression. The room had a full view of the Pearl River. The bathroom was huge and bright. Even my 15 yr old daughter fell in love. We've stayed in some very good hotels such as Ritz, Kempinski and Capella etc, and this room can be ranked up there. We needed an extra bed and the housekeeping staff set it up quickly, bringing with them a set of extra amenities as well. We tried the Chinese restaurant. Good but I wouldn't say it was 'wow'. There's turn down service every night and the housekeeping staff leaves a nice little box of biscuits as night treat. Rooms were made up promptly everyday and bottled water refilled. The staff was proactive, knowing that there were 3 of us, they actually placed extra bottles of water for us. If I have any complaint, it would be the pillows. Though there was a pillow menu, somehow all the pillows were still really flat. I had a bit of stiff neck and I told the housekeeping staff. They very kindly brought a few extra pillows so that I could prop up to a comfortable level. Location is also convenient with many restaurants and cafes nearby. A short walk will bring you to a nearby mall and the metro station.Compared to the Conrad where we stayed the last trip, this definitely fare much much better. Will be our top choice if I come to GZ again.

Excellent services and great facilities. Front desk manager Ms. Yan did a fabulous job to meet our needs by having an engineer to solve the voltage conversion problem, she recommended room change for the best view, and offered us various dining options with great deal. Our first stay for about a week. The guest relationship offered us a free upgrade for our second stay (for about two weeks), which made us very happy and feeling warm. The concierge and the restaurant personnels are very professional and polite, the food is super delicious! We are truly very satisfied with our stay in white swan hotel. Definitely we will recommend it to all friends and will stay again in white swan hotel in near future.

Hotel was nice and big. The washer was clean. The only problem was they did not have liquid hand wash soap. They had a soap bar small one even for the deluxe king size room which I booked. The room was not worth $250 per night And the breakfast was very expensive. $50 per person. The reception was on second floor the location of the hotel was in a not good area.

The art was great. Design and the waterfall inside the hotel is a great picture spot (either by the bridge below or higher up on 2nd floor where hotel lobby is). Very convenient to get to anywhere. Rooms are a bit smaller than expected but view is superb and very comfortable for couples. Very clean too. Definitely recommend
