We ate here TWICE during our two day stay. The pretzel bites, Brussels Sprouts, chicken wings and cheeseburger were all so good!! We will definitely be back when we’re in Cashiers!!

The only two complaints are that they didn’t have the grilled cheese on the menu and their driveway was STEEP! But let me tell you- the food was delicious. We were completely in love with the flavors and the crunch of the food. The garlic cheese curds were fought over, the pretzel bites were toasted to literal perfection with the cheddar beer cheese dip, the wings were crispy and well seasoned. My kids and husband loved their burgers and let me tell you- if they weren’t 6 hours from my house I’d be there every weekend.You pay/order at the counter and then can sit anywhere- bar, tables, outside (where they had lawn games).

This is one of my go to places. The atmosphere and conversation is terrific! The Whiteside Brewmaster, Ryan has a sincere desire to craft new brews. I've been a big fan of their Coffee Stout (the batch is currently out so give the Chocolate Coconut Milk Stout a try) and I love the "Pickin Wildflowers" farmhouse ale too as inventive. There's more that I like such as any of their wheat beers. If you're not as adventurous, or like a lighter beer, the Woosah Kolsch or Cackalacky Lite are particularly popular. I can't wait to see what's next! They are creative with their menu as well. So if you haven't been around, chances are there is something different when you come back around.

We went here with our three kids. We all ordered food of different varieties and it was good. I am a foodie so it’s not amazing but definitely worth the money. I got the chicken salad that they make there and it’s so good. I love that they use purple potatoes for their fries. My kids ordered wings which was flavored well and chicken strips which were tasty. My husband and I ordered beer and it was very tasty. Sometimes when you go to breweries, you can tell that the lines don’t get cleaned. This was not one of those places

Had a smashburger was really good. Fries was okay. They do have self-serve soft drinks and a little fizz was good after my meal

Ordered in line and we got to receive our food within maybe 5-10 minutes? Super quick and the food was delicious too. They had those French fries with the breading on them too which I always love. They also had water cups just available to use at the soda machine so you didn't even need to ask. We sat outside and it was perfect. Definitely would come back if I'm in the area again!

I understand that not everyone can make great food. But when we are expected to pay premium prices, feedback on genuine disappointment seems necessary. My hope is the ownership works to improve the quality of the food. We ordered the sweet pots, which sounded like they would be good, but were disappointing and progressively gross. The sweet potatoes were burnt and the pesto and goat cheese did not pair well together. We also ordered regular fries, which tasted bland, like they were home made in an oven, with no salt. My wife ordered a cocktail that was basically undrinkable. Tried to get the bar tender to address it but was ignored. The fried chicken sandwich was fine. In all, we could not finish half of what we paid for. Will be challenging to consider returning, which is disappointing.

Food was amazing. We had the streets corn bites - 10/10 Cheeseburger with fries - best fries we ever had. They're battered and crispy. Cheeseburger could have had more toppings. Caribbean shrimp salad - 10/10

Frankly I don't get the hype. Yes, the place has a cool outdoor area where you can bring the kids and dogs, but that's where it ends. Beer - I'll take a Yuengling any day over their offerings. Food - Kitchen closes early even in the summer. Menus is limited. Nothing great or fantastic about their food. Usually comes out cold. Often overcooked and tasteless. Recently received an order that was missing a number of items. I told the bartender and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "The kitchen is closed. Can't help you!" There are two things that I would rate higher. 1. Homemade root beer - Can't remember the last time they made a batch of this stuff but it is better than any of their regular beers. 2. The Food truck in their parking lot. I'm not sure is this is related to whiteside but their food especially breakfast is FAR SUPERIOR to the food they serve up the hill. Cashiers/Glenville/Sapphire deserves a better brewery and food coming out of here.

Great dog friendly place. Plenty of outdoor seating with heat lamps if needed. Smash burgers and fries were exactly what was needed after a long hike. Service was attentive. There is a play area with various outdoor games.

On Saturday night, my husband and I walked here from the wells hotel. As soon as you go in, you're immediately in a line to order drink and food. They conveniently have menus placed everywhere. My husband ordered the Woosah Kolsh and I had their lavender hibiscus ginger beer. The drinks were delicious and we will be coming back today for sure! For food, we ordered the soft pretzel and their signature wagyu smash burger. I wished the pretzel wasn't cut up with an exposed dough side. Because when it was put in to the fryer, the oil absorbs in to the dough, resulting in a grease ball. We ate about 1/3 and threw away the rest. If the pretzel sticks weren't cut up and served to us as a whole stick, I think it would be successful! The wagyu smash burger burger was really good! It had a great crispy fatty skirt, definitely will be ordering again!

This place is awesome! They have plenty of options for beer as well as ciders, wine, and cocktails,so definitely something for everyone! You walk up to the counter and order. They have food options as well, including a decent kids menu. Great place for families, as they have a large area behind their outside dining area for kids to run and play. They have tons of seating inside as well as seating on the deck and a large area with picnic tables. Beer was delicious and the food was fantastic! We had the amother hen chicken sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant roll! We split an order of fries as well and it was more than enough for us. will absolutely be back here when in the area!

Whiteside Brewing Co is our go-to after hiking Whiteside and it never disappoints! The vibe is unbeatable, the drinks are great, and the staff is always friendly. It's the perfect place to relax after a hike -- seriously one of the coolest spots around. A must if you're in the area!

Plenty of parking, quick service, and good food. Seating is comfortable, and you can get a view to the outside. We both ordered sandwiches; mine on gluten free bread. We shared a side of slaw. We will definitely be back when we're in Cashiers.

Great atmosphere great beer nice selections. Staff is great and the food is usually pretty tasty. Haven't enjoyed it yet. They don't have the fire going, I guess because it's below freezing. Will post eating in the Rueben. Brisket was awesome, sweet potato fries very tasty

I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. There's nothing not to like. What I loved: - excellent Hazy IPA and a solid tropical IPA - plenty of parking - friendly, helpful service - solid menu with choices to fit most any palate - great Greek salad with loads of olives and feta (I suggest the Caesar dressing on the side) - very tasty brussel sprouts, a little heavy on the glaze, but those bacon chunks (yum)...portion size is enough to share - heaters outside - dog friendly (outside) - indoor, covered porch, and outdoor seating galore - lots of very cool swag Cautions: - pets outside only (a winter time caution) - the elevation, nearly 3800'...if you're coming up from Cullowhee, Sylva, Dillsboro, it's a windy ride back, so please drink and drive carefully and responsibly Solid recommendation of you're anywhere in Jackson County

We have been here 4 times now. Craft brew is on point, great service, and food is always great. Relaxed atmosphere

Great Brewery. Amazing setup. Stopped in while hiking in NC and wasn't disappointed. They have a lot of seating inside and deck seating. Plenty of TVs. There is a large patio that was playing a football game on a big screen. Most of it is covered by shades or a massive pergola. There is also large field for the kiddos or even adults to run around on. Very dog friendly, lots of water bowls on the patio and they sold treats inside. The beer was super delicious. We just needed a snack so we ordered the kids chicken tendies w/ fries. I will say the star of the show was the ranch. If in the area definitely going back. ! Wish we could've stayed longer but a 2 hour drive back home isn't ideal after many beers. Lol.

Super cool brewery with loads of free parking! They've got a wide variety of beers plus cocktails! The prices are fairly reasonable too. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a lovely wrap around porch. The service was very friendly and fast! The food was delicious and flavorful. Definitely check it out, especially if you love breweries!

About as good a sandwich place as you'll ever find if you're not on a special diet. I ordered the turkey Reuben and I don't know when the last time was that I had such a good sandwich. The cheese tasted pitch-perfect. The coleslaw too. And they didn't do that annoying thing of having too much meat for everything else on the sandwich. I highly recommend for the surroundings too. It's counter service, but nice for casual lazy afternoon.

The best spot in Cashiers to grab a beer. Their food is top-notch too. Best smash burger maybe in NC. Awesome setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Live music every now and then, too. Super friendly service. Love this place so much I bought the merch. Highly recommended for all groups and it's very kid-friendly.

I really enjoy WBC, the food is always delicious and now that they added a separate beer line the wait isn't so long on busy days...it's great! If I could change one thing (hence 4 stars) it would be to swap out the rocks with something more pup friendly in the outdoor patio. Maybe my dog is a priss, but she refuses to lay down and get comfortable on them.

This was such a lovely spot to have a meal (and maybe an adult beverage)! There's a lovely outside space with games and things to do, a cute gift shop, and some of the biggest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen in my life!! The long line to order food looked daunting, but it moved fast and we got our order rather quickly after settling into a table. It also means the place is in high demand, so go and try it out!! I had a Southwest salad and side of Mac and Cheese, but between me and my table mates, we tried most of the menu and it was all great!!

Great burgers and selections of local beer! This is about the only reason to come to Cashiers NC Highly recommend!

Great large indoor and outdoor area that is pet friendly. We tried a few beers that were good, not spectacular but good. We had the Brussels (really good!) and the smash burger (okay). We got to be out for the eclipse which was awesome after a great local hike as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Whiteside Brewery does not disappoint. There's lots of outdoor seating. It has interesting decor, a trendy atmosphere, lots of beers, and is family friendly. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to you by number at your table.

What a great day to visit Cashiers. The wife was a little green after the trip up, but a stop at Whiteside was just what the doctor ordered. Easy in to order, plenty on the menu. I typically order "safe" my first time anywhere, so we went with the Smashburger. What a great call. Wife decided to get 1 side. Good call. Loads of fries that we split and barely finished. I got the Factory Reset beer and it was perfect. Sat outside and got to people watch, which is a bonus. Will definitely be back!!

This restaurant has a nice rustic, cozy, feel to it. There's plenty of space to gather and it doesn't feel cramped. The workers are very nice and the ordering system they have works great! The food is tasty and the fries are a must try, they don't even need ketchup. I will say the smash burger is very smashed so it's kind of hard to eat but was delicious nonetheless.

Got sandwiches here and they were absolutely incredible. You order in line, grab a seat, and then they bring the food out to you. We also got a variety of different beers and all 3 were very good. We bought t shirts as a memory for our vacation.

You must grab a meal + beer here while in the area!! Great selection, prices, friendly staff, and dog friendly. It's counter service to place your meal and then they bring to you. My husband and I were both pretty hungry, but could've shared a meal the portions were so big. We had the nachos (added chicken), smash burger, and their hazy IPA.

The location and atmosphere of the place was awesome. They have indoor and outdoor dining available. Outdoor dining has heaters and a huge play area for the kids. Some people have said that they don't like placing their order at a counter and not having a server but we loved it! If you need something, you go get it and they bring out your food to you. Doesn't get much more simpler than that to us. The selection and quality of beer on tap was great! They let you taste one before you buy so you know if you like it. Can't remember the barkeeps name but he was so friendly and make finding a beer super easy! The food for the most part was great. The only real issue we had was that one in our party ordered the smash burger, which the place has a sign stating they won an award for, but my friend couldn't eat it. She said it didn't have any flavor and was coated in grease. I share my sandwich with her and she enjoyed it. I got the Rachel which was awesome. Appetizer wise we got the pretzel bites (amazing) and the French onion dip (delicious). I just wish the French onion dip had a little more pizazz to it. It tasted like something I could have gotten from the grocery store (still yummy just expecting more) Dog friendly which is a huge plus!

We love it here. We go to Franklin every year and when we do we always come to white side for the food there chicken tenders are delicious, the hamburger is yummy! The beer is always on point. The outside space is our favorite place for kids, dogs, to run around. Just overall highly recommended

Great food and great place BUT I swear they are always closed!!! Everytime I try to go here for dinner they're always closed and being closed on Wednesdays is just really inconvenient out of all the days they could be closed like a Sunday

Cashiers is a cool area anyway. But this brewery/restaurant is the reason we came to town. We were heading back from camping and took the long way to come here. Their beer is good. Cool they offer other local NC brews too though. To give a better selection. The food is great! I recommend the burger as a must. The Cheese curds were great! A huge order of them. I was disappointed they were out of the pretzels with beer cheese though. We also go the fried brussell sprouts. They were decent. I would have liked them fried a little more. My wife loved them. The bacon and balsamic on them was on point. Cool location with tons of outdoor seating. Perfect to bring the dogs to.

If you're in Cashiers - you just need to get here. Great beer and fun non-beer drinks. Dog friendly and the food is top notch!!

Overall, decent dining experience. The food came out quick and the space was cool, since it was a brewery. And the service was nice. However the food was just not outstanding. The sweet potato fries were good, albeit a little over fried. But overall they tasted nice. The ranch and blue cheese were good (I'm particular with my ranch, so this was impressive). My boyfriend and I both ordered the buffalo wings and both of ours were over fried and somewhat dry. My boyfriend's wings had very little sauce on it and one of them were literally almost black from how overfried it was (5/8 wings were sauceless) meanwhile mine were drenched in sauce (to each their own). The house salad was mid--the lettuce was in massive pieces, the pickled onions were barely cut, and where the hell were the croutons. Way overpriced for a $5 salad. Decent balsamic vinaigrette but tasted like it was out of a bottle. Wings were not worth $15.

We get dragged kicking and screaming here a couple times yearly by family. The atmosphere is nice and the outside area for kids to run around is good, but the wife and I haven't enjoyed a good meal here yet. It's all passable, but we've had much better at fast casual dining. Patty melt? It's like a burger cut in half and quite flavorless. Nachos? Got them stone cold. The excuse was "you caught us between cheese batches." Basically, they knew they served them with cold cheese. 2nd batch came out. Meh. Fries? SO MUCH SALT. Cheese curds came with a pretzel bite in them. The brussel sprouts came with melted cheese curds in the box. The Cuban came with a random chicken nugget.

Cool little brewery tucked into mountains of North Carolina. Tried a flight and loved them all. Decided to get the Hazy as a pint. Food was excellent. Outdoor area is really nice also!

Order at the counter, grab your beer at the bar, then sit wherever you'd like and they'll bring your food to you. Great burgers and fries! Beer is good but I was hoping for some more adventurous flavors. Lots of outdoor seating and pet friendly. Fast and friendly service.

Come for beer and ambiance. Sunny afternoon in the spring made for a nice stop post-hike. For me the food was meh. Menu says black bean Patty but they have now swapped that out for a non-descript veggie pattie that is bought, not made in the kitchen. I opted for the southwest salad (since I had my palate set on black beans and the BB burger no longer was an option). The southwest salad was HEAVY on the red onion (not pickled as listed on the menu) corn, and spicy ranch dressing. There was not a black bean to be found. The Brussels were over sauced for my liking and the fries from my dining partner's order were limp and pretty underwhelming. He said the smash burger was good.

I've always loved the food at Whiteside but they recently changed their burger. The bun is so thick and crumbles, and they no longer chop their onions? Why mess up something so good?! Made me sad as I crave this burger regularly and it's just not the same :( Everything else 10/10 though!

Nice friendly place. Ordered the Hen chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Food came out very quickly. Chicken sandwich was delicious but the sweet potato fries were way overcooked $12??? Would have liked a bit more of a flavored mayo or something on the sandwich, rather "meh" flavor tho chicken was cooked perfectly

The beer was great and the food was good! We loved visiting Whiteside while in the Cashiers/Highlands area. It was the perfect spot to bring our kids and enjoy some drinks. We especially loved the large outdoor space! We will be back

This is a cute brewery with lots of outdoor space and a covered patio with heaters on a cold day. There are plenty of parking and it's dog friendly. We stopped by after lunch to enjoy a cold brew. I had the salty dog and it was fantastic. It has a nice grapefruit flavor and was easy drinking. We didn't order any food, but others did and it smells delicious. One of the bartender showed me around and gave me information on the brewery. New ownership took over last October, so many changes will be coming within the next month or so. Same good beer, but new menu items. They don't currently have cans to go, but have growlers available. They also have some guests brew including ginger's revenge (ginger beer) and another NC brew. It's definitely a cool place to grab a beer with friends and hang out.

Whiteside is a great place to meet and hang with friends and family . It's kid and dog friendly and when the weather cooperates cannot be beat . The food is pretty typical bar fare but is solidly good . Prices in Highlands and Cashiers are pricy and this place is no different . Staff is always friendly and parking is sufficient unless it's an extremely busy holiday weekend . Go for pretzel bites wings and the smash burger .

We just made a quick stop here on our way back from camping. We sat at the bar and was waiting on fairly promptly. Several wait staff checked on us throughout the time we were there. It appeared to be kid friendly (large, grassy play area across the way) and dog friendly :). We didn't order food, but many people were enjoying the food that was being served. I'd give it 5 stars based on the limited time I was there (service and beer).

We loved Whiteside Brewing Co - went there for lunch after a hike. Good beer and good food. Worth the 30 minute wait. The chicken chili was awesome and the Mexican hot chocolate for dessert was a great way to end the visit.Will definitely go again next time we're in town.

Stopped in for lunch, no beer because had a long drive home. the food was fresh and flavorful. Speed of service was excellent. Ordered a salad and burger with sweet potatoes fries. They have a fun outdoor seating area and porch bar, looks like would be a great hangout spot on a warm night.

Went a few days before Christmas and this place was happening, lots of people eating outside and tons of space too. The deck, the yard, shelter, with a backyard game to play too, lots of sanitizer around. Not many places to eat inside, we had to wait for a seat, but it was busy for lunch. Menu is simple, burgers and dogs, kids grilled cheese too (it's huge for a kid). But everything was delicious and they did a good job spacing things out. Service was amazing, our boys dropped their sandwich as soon as they got it and they brought a new one with fries and let's us get double friends (thank you for understanding). Great decor and lots to look at with a few TVs inspire and our. Great lights hung for the holiday season. I like this place because it's an order and then sit down. So much easier than sit and order. Their craft beers are priced well and they have lots of different options, cider, ginger, grapefruit (Gose), wheat, German light, English ESB, IPA, Belgian Tripel, Schwarzbie, Spiced / Herbed Beer. So whatever you enjoy, you're bound to find something appealing to your palate. I'd recommend the double burger instead of the junior, as I think the patties are only 1/4 pound, so the junior is pretty small, lots of amazing appetizers too, an extra order of friends is worth it as they are very very good, I'm talking McDonald's good. Just to give some more praise to the service, I lost my winter cap and the next day (they were closed), but they went twice looking throughout the store for it and then even offered to mail it if they found but. I appreciate the effort they took and even the willingness to go to extra lengths, even though I was irresponsible with my belongs. Well done WhiteSide Brewing Company. I would love to come to this place in the summer with all their outdoor seating or a nice summer or fall evening, they done a great job with their outdoor seating, it's a very relaxing vibe they have going on.

We visited Whiteside Brewing twice during our weeklong vacation. We desperately wanted to love it, but unfortunately it was just okay. There really is no ambiance unless you bring it yourself with your friends; the waitstaff is rushed and the queue to order is always long, because there's one employee taking orders and getting drinks. Unfortunately neither my husband nor I thought their beers were very good. They were much too expensive for what they were. The pretzel bites, on the shareable menu, are delicious! We ordered these both times, and they're so good, but overpriced at $10...
