Texas Breweries Are Helping Austin Coffee Shops With Boil Water Notice | Eater Austin

"A Cedar Park brewery outside the affected area that kegged several half-barrels of clean local water and delivered them to a Rainey Street bar with which it has an ongoing relationship after that bar expressed urgent need." - Nadia Chaudhury

My family and I visited Whitestone and enjoyed this place. Great cold beer and lots of options for everyone’s taste. Our two oldest are not beer drinkers but the bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly to let them try out a couple of beers to find out what they like. Service was great and we loved that we can also get food in the same location. Highly recommend and definitely will be back, I’m a big believer in supporting small, family businesses.

Google
Great service, location and atmosphere inside the place. Dog friendly in the outside patio. The pizza crust was great, ingredients fresh however, the amount of ingredients used such as the bacon and chicken was minimal and coud use a bit more ingredients to make it a true value item. Overall a great experience and good brews as well. Come and check them out.

Drea, Sky, and Terrance at Whitestone Brewing are absolutely awesome! They always make everyone feel welcome and go out of their way to make sure you’re having a great time. Drea is super friendly and attentive, Terrance has such great energy and really knows his stuff when it comes to the beers, and Sky always keeps things fun and upbeat behind the bar. The vibe here is amazing thanks to them — you can tell they really care about their customers. Can’t recommend this place (and this team!) enough! 🍻

Went here with family Friday night, was about 930 and when we pulled up you could see the guy behind the pizza counter wasn’t happy, but he said we could order. Why are you closing at 10pm on a Friday night??? Pizza menu is confusing and 3 small pizza’s and my 12 year old daughter wanted wings, asked if she could get half flats and guy says no you get whatever comes out, well she only got one flat and therefore a waste of $15 dollars. Also the pizza’s tasted weird with an after taste, come to find out they were gluten free pizza:( spent close to $80 dollars and then as we are eating and finishing up our food the lady behind the bar started to turn off all the TV’s :( like we are eating and watching the games. She had a couple at the bar and this lady is spraying cleaning stuff right by their drinks. Won’t be going back here again.

Bingo Night was an absolute blast! The atmosphere was electric, and the DJ hosting the event brought so much energy—it was clear everyone was having a great time. The staff was super friendly and really added to the experience. I’ll definitely be coming back for this fun-filled event! When it comes to food, the pizza was great. It didn’t come with marinara sauce, but the staff quickly resolved that by bringing me a side to dip it in—problem solved, and it was delicious! I didn’t get the chance to try the beers, but the soda selection was solid, and there was plenty to choose from overall. A quick tip: If you’re heading out for Bingo Night, especially on a Friday, plan to arrive early. We got there 20 minutes before it started but couldn’t find a table—I’d recommend showing up at least 30 minutes ahead of time to grab a spot. While it’s technically a brewery and not necessarily a family-focused establishment, I did see a few families with kids, and the vibe wasn’t unwelcoming. In fact, there were games and card decks available up front for people to play while waiting or eating, which definitely created a lighthearted, inviting atmosphere. I even saw groups playing games at their tables, which was a really unique touch and added to the fun. All in all, this place combines great food, a lively atmosphere, and a sense of community that makes it stand out. It’s a perfect spot for adults to relax and have fun, though maybe not 100% geared toward kids. Either way, I wish more places had this kind of vibe—a really cool spot!

Google
Amazing spot in Cedar Park! The BBQ chicken pizza was loaded with flavor—crispy crust, tangy sauce, and the perfect amount of green onions. The beer flight was a fun way to explore their variety—everything from light and citrusy to deep and malty. Great vibes, friendly staff, and a perfect place to hang out with friends!

We came here this evening for my daughters third birthday and were so disappointed by our experience. The kids were so excited to play outside but we didn’t realize there was smoking on the patio. There is a “designated smoking area” but it’s RIGHT next to the other area and the smoke travels easily. One group was chain smoking NOT in the designated area and it was so unpleasant, not to mention dangerous, for the kids, especially the two 3 month olds in our group. So we sat inside, no problem, but the entire inside was smoky as well from the door constantly opening. It is not a family friendly place at all (confusing since they have a play area) and we won’t be back. Yes, I realize this is a brewery and not just a pizza place but the atmosphere wasn’t like this at all when we’ve been before. The word our group kept thinking of was “trashy.”

We really enjoyed the beer flight. They’ve got some fun options and the price was very reasonable.

Yelp
First visit to the new location just down the street from the former - the old spot was great, this new spot will certainly get return visits. Added bonus, 600 Degrees Pizza is inside for food munchies. Good selection of beers, same friendly service as the old location, parking is a bit easier (larger spaces). Indoor and outdoor seating as well.

Yelp
What an amazing place to have a special event or get together with friends!! We did a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Cedar Park Chamber today and the staff at both Whitestone Brewery and 600 Degrees Pizza were so welcoming and helpful! The food is delicious, there are TVs to watch sports, music playing and a play area for young kids to hang out. If you are looking for a delicious cold beer and pizza this is DEFINITELY the place!
google avatar

Yelp
My son and I noticed the new sign out front the other day that said Whitestone Brewery & 600 Degree Pizza. We knew the brewery occupied this location a year ago, but never knew the pizza place was there as well, until we saw the new sign !!! We decided to pay them a visit today. Great place to come for great beer and great pizza !!!!

Yelp
Stopped into a local brewery while in town on business. Instantly greeted at the bar and offered samples of the types of beer I like. I can say they were all good. Once ordered I chatted with the bartender and ordered some food. The sub was also really good. Bartenders changed and I stayed and talked with the new one for a good hour. Normally I think bartenders listen to customer stories but this night was different. I listened to his and it changed my life about others. I will leave it at that. I hope you are doing well sir.

Yelp
"Craft pizza craft beer". This place is a hybrid of 600 degrees pizza and Whitestone brewery. The atmosphere is casual with high tops and communal tables, with sporadic TVs of sporting games. A good place to meet friends or eat alone, the brewery offers 6, 5oz flights for you to try or pint size beers if you already know what you like. The pizza offers a full menu. You get your beer at the bar, and order your slice/whole pie at the kitchen and they deliver to your table. A cute place for meet up and a fun time.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with even better beers!! The pizza was delicious! Next time we'll do a tasting to try the other beers.

Yelp
Whitestone Brewery and 600 degrees = a match made in heaven! We stopped by the new location over the weekend and loved the new setup. A fabulous variety of unique Whitestone brews along with counter service 600 degrees is the perfect combination. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time here. My favorites from 600 degrees are always the dry rub wings and really any of the specialty pizzas but the Haight and Ashbury and City Pie always hit the spot.

Yelp
Had an amazing night out here! Many choices and quick service. Relaxing outdoor seating with lovely chats with the locals as well as the employees.

Yelp
OK the flights served on a platter with the Lone Star looks awesome. Such a cool idea. I was here during an off-peak hour so I took my time with the beers. Every brew was very well put together. My favorite was the year round brown ale. Not a surprise as browns are some of my favorite beers in general. You should try any of the available beers with confidence. The staff are very approachable and a pleasure to talk to. There is also plenty of seating indoors and out. You might catch a food truck here but check the schedule first!
google avatar

Yelp
Joined my partner's family for a casual evening of beers and pizza. The beer selection was satisfying, and the atmosphere had a mix of a tap house and sports bar vibe. Would come back for the beer selection

Yelp
Enjoyed the beer flight! Our favorite was the coffee flavored stout Loved the ambience of this place. The host at the counter was super helpful and let us sample a few beers. We ended up taking two flights to cover all that was on the menu :) If anyone is interested in what we liked -- 2,6,8 - hazy and not good 7, 10 - stout with spicy/sweet note, coffee 9- good one 3- also nice You will have to go thr the pics to see which is which one :)) A highlight was the taco truck just outside the brewery. We ordered beer from the brewery and got our taco fix from this truck. Visiting from out of state, we had stopped by for a drink and some food after visiting Oasis on the Rocks for the sunset view. We were happy we did stop by here. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Beer! Pizza! Happy! Come check out this place. Many styles of beer to choose from. If you are in the area and in the mood for a good beer, stop on in. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Michaela M.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place. The outside area has lots of seating and is decorated nicely. The only thing I wish they had was a kitchen or a food truck that was open later during their weekend hours. Unfortunately the food truck on site was closed while we were visiting around 9pm on a Saturday but the beer was pretty tasty! LOVED the long gone blonde. Will be returning for a growler sometime soon

Yelp
Unlocked another brewery in Cedar Park. Whitestone has very cute interior designs and a nice outdoor patio with taco food truck nearby. It was our first visit and we love their cute decors, generous tastings and live music performance! Service was great. The guy at the bar was chill and friendly - beer tasting was offered and it did help us make better decisions for our drinks! The ones we tried were Lovely Day IPA and Luna Azul Wheat Ale. I like the latter one way more than the first one, but that's just my personal preference. Beers are reasonably priced. Also we got lucky - got the table right in front of the cute fireplace and next to the live performance . Overall a great place to hang out with friends/family!

Yelp
Fun place to hang with friends. Good selection of micro-brews. Wish they had regular food menu. Friendly staff and helpful bartender.

Amy M.

Yelp
I am very disappointed in the new location. The space is a lot smaller and now that it is a pizza restaurant it is always crowded and there is no place to sit. The patio here is a lot smaller than the old location and they allow smoking so that means we won't sit out there. We got there on a Friday at 5pm and there was nowhere to sit. We got lucky when someone left, however during the time we were there, many groups came and went because there were no tables available. The most disappointing thing is the lack of Whitestone beers. They had two of their own beers and everything else was guest taps. I really like their beers and if I come to Whitestone I want to have Whitestone beers. This really just screams that this is a location of 600 Degrees that happens to serve a couple of Whitestone beers. As for the food, it is hit and miss. The menu had tons of things marked off that they didn't have including all of their sandwiches and several specialty pizzas. I'm guessing this location is not serving the 600 Degrees full menu at this time. We got some garlic knots as an appetizer and they were good but the pizza we got was not. They don't really have a pepperoni pizza listed on the menu so you have to get a cheese pizza and add pepperoni. The pizza we got was nothing but gobs of cheese. I've never seen so much cheese on a pizza before. It was only so-so tasting and not something I would get again. With all these drawbacks I don't plan to visit this location very often which is a shame as we loved the old Whitestone. I guess we will go try the Liberty Hill location even though it is much farther away. I understand they had financial issues and that is most likely why they had to move out of the old space and partner with a restaurant, so I hope they can get back on their feet but as of now this is a worse situation.

Yelp
Stopped in tonight to see if the Whitestone/600 Degrees was everything it should be. Meh. Always been a fan of 600 Degrees/Slapbox, but tbh, never a huge fan of Whitestone's offerings. Somehow, the combination of the two isn't an improvement. The beer is just as average as ever, but now the pizza is a step down as well. I guess I'll stick to the other 600 Degree locations, where the pizzas are great, and they also have great beers.
google avatar

Travis C.

Yelp
When I first walked in I was greeted with big smile and great energy! I instantly got asked what type of beer I liked and the sampling began! I went with the Slappin Da Bass as I tend to drink stouts in the winter since they are heavier but the cooler weather makes it easier to consume. Great atmosphere. Great beer. Great people. Stop in and drink. I'll come with you but first round is on me!
google avatar

Shailey K.

Yelp
Love their long gone blonde and Hef. The service is awesome and love their trivia and bingo nights. Great ambiance that gives you the homey feeling!
google avatar

Rosalind C.

Yelp
Not bad just not my cup of tea. I'm more of a higher ABV girl. This place had good beers but the ABV were on the lower side. The highest was 6.8 which is not bad but they only had one to choose from. The staff were nice and the outdoor area was good for families. I would say give it a try..
google avatar

Tanya S.

Yelp
Friendly staff and good options. Taco truck has delicious food too! Nice patio with fans and TVs; AUSTIN STEAM TRAIN parks right behind the bar and you can easily see it from the patio! Pet and family friendly
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
Great brewery and tap house in Cedar Park. They have rotating food truck schedule out back. Covered patio is awesome along with live music stage. Inside is a rustic lodge feel with lots of wood and steel. Did a 6 cup flight and was impressed with all but one selection. Staff is very friendly and vibe is very chill. This is perfect pre-funk spot prior to Texas Stars game at HEB Arena!

Michele C.

Yelp
I was so hoping the new location and addition of 600 degrees would make this a place I'd come back to again and again. Nope. 1. Way too loud in there. 2. Half the beers taps are sold out? How is this possible? You are your own provider!?! That said, you have guest taps, so go get another keg! One way or another, don't have empty taps. 3. Because 1/2 are sold out, selection is limited. 4. Not much to drink for non-beer drinkers. 5. Don't ask me for a tip if all you're doing is pouring my beer. I may give you one, but 22% for waiting in line for you to pour my beer? Uh, no.
google avatar

Anastasia M.

Yelp
Indoor/outdoor seating. Great beer selection and the staff knows their business. Knowledgeable, friendly and open to explaining the beers but also keeping the line moving. The food truck there is delicious. They have a nice menu to choose from. Check insta/or website for entertainment schedule. They usually have great live music
google avatar

Nicolette M.

Yelp
Ambiance - 9/10 Pricing - 10/10 Staff - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Overall, the service is great! The ladies behind the counter are very nice and loaded with insights about the beers. There's a food truck outside that was delish!! (Tacos & burgers) the al pastor tacos were amazing. We did not try the burgers but from what I've seen/heard it's also very yummy! Whitestone is in a great location in Cedar Park, TX. We are heading to Balcones state park to go hiking but saw this along the way and had to stop in. I'm glad we did!
google avatar

S B.

Yelp
Great place to get out of the heat and enjoy some cold beers with your buddies. The beer selection is great and the staff always seem to be in a good mood. On certain nights they even have group/bar games going on like music bingo and other corny-but-cool games. Grab some friends and drink some beers.
google avatar

Dana T.

Yelp
Love this place. Lots of good options. I think 8.5 minutes abs is even better than electric jellyfish. The people that work there are great! Also they host watch parties for Austin FC. Go Verde!

Robin H.

Yelp
We love the warm and comfortable atmosphere at Whitestone Brewery in Cedar Park. The service is excellent. Their new partnership with 600 Degree Pizza is cool too. Pizza and beer is always good!
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
Whitestone Brewery is a great place to grab a beer and relax after work or watch an Austin FC game. They have a large patio for all their events like trivia and bingo and plenty of seating inside. Head here for some great Texas beers.
google avatar

Missy J.

Yelp
Wow I can't believe I've forgotten to review here. I LOVE their beer and location. Always great beers on rotation and the flight tray is cool. Only reason for the 4 starts is today we came for what had to be the 6th or 7th time and got kicked to the outside patio for having a dog. This is ALWAYS the brewery I go to when it's hot because they allowed dogs inside. I've had every other bartender let my dog in, love on him and have had zero problem sitting inside with him. Even their Facebook has a picture of a dog inside. Today we were told that was never allowed and should have been told to go outside. We have also seen many other dogs inside during past visits. I hate inconsistent rules. Also, super sad that we'll have to find a new brewery this summer. It's too hot to be outside and my dogs nickname is the the brewery dog. I'll still support them during cooler months-- but dog owners should know the rules have changed. Very sad. Wish they would have posted something about this change.
google avatar

Aundrea C.

Yelp
One of my favorite places as the beer is great and the taco truck is absolutely amazing. Both service at the bar and taco truck have always been great! Great hang out spot inside and out.
google avatar

Sasa P.

Yelp
Really loved their outdoor seating area where we could bring our dog. They have mist fans out there and a food truck (tacos when we were there). The indoor ambience seems pretty classic brewery vibe. I tried two beers - the kolsch and the brown. Both were good! Can't say I found my new favorite beer, and I wish they'd had a lager or a pale or hazy anything as options, but overall it was a good experience!
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
If you are looking for an amazing beer, a wonderful atmosphere and an awesome staff, this is your place hands down! From a long day of work at Derrick's Barbershop, I like to come in and have a blonde beer and talk with the awesome staff about my day or about life and about movies. Or watch any sports game or live music, comedy or big reds trivia night. There are a lot of breweries in the Austin area but only one where everybody knows your name. So if you are looking for a good beer, brewery or make some new friends this is your brewery. See you soon cheers

Joyce L.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Whitestone Brewery. The environment felt very relaxed and casual and I loved the outside patio area. We got a selection of beers, I personally really enjoyed the Mango Crazy wheat beer and the Keyboard Gansta IPA. The service was also very friendly and they offered some samples if you are in between choices. The taco truck outside was also very good! I highly recommend one of their loaded fries. The fries were perfectly crispy and tender in the middle, and super flavorful toppings. The tacos were also yummy and I'm a huge corn lover so the elote bowl was perfect. I will definitely be back to try more of their seasonal beers!

Ben H.

Yelp
The beer is still mediocre at best, these many years later. If you like sugar over taste, this place may work for you. Bonus negative points, the Friday night song bingo sucks, too. Haven't been here in two years, won't be here for at least another two.
google avatar

Alexandra P.

Yelp
Pretty good ambiance. Spaced out seating inside and outdoor seating available. Place was visibly clean and also smelled very clean! We got loaded tots from the food truck outside that were yummy. All the beers that we tried were good but the mango one was my favorite!
google avatar

Josiah G.

Yelp
Huge covered patio! We stopped by while we were in the area and what a nice brewery to grab a beer at. I had the Blonde beer and it was light and crisp. They had a Food truck hanging outside so if you wanted to partake that was great. Suggestions- In the guys bathroom the keg should be a little bit higher. Pretty tough for tall guys lol. But, I love the concept. Moose Out

James O.

Yelp
Linked up with some great friends last night. Was a "telling stories and laughing" evening and tried Whitestone for the first time. Was a perfect venue to just sit, drink, and chill. We had an awesome time. The six-flight beer sampler was perfect. The food truck outside was great and provided tasty tacos. Overall was a fun place to connect. The only thing that would make it better is if they had live music. Had fun and will be back.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Great local brewery! Friendly and helpful staff, great tasting beers and a food truck out back - what else do you need?
google avatar

Donovan S.

Yelp
This is a fun place to hang out in Cedar Park but it is in a busy strip mall. The service is good and you can get some beer flights and the prices are very reasonable. My fiancé and I had a good time here and the live music was awesome! I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Nickie B.

Yelp
What a fun place! We have been here a handful of times and always enjoy ourselves. The beer is made in-house, service is great (even if there is a short line) and prices are fair. Sometimes they have a live band and a food truck or two, which always increases the opportunity for fun. If you want a laid back place to have a cold local beer, this is the place. Pro Tip: Check out their Facebook page to keep up on their events.
google avatar

Alyson G.

Yelp
Enjoyed a beer flight here today. I found this place online due to the fact that I was looking for a dog friendly place, which isn't hard in Austin, but I also look for a good outdoor environment too. This was absolutely perfect. Plenty of seating, football on the outdoor tvs, delicious beers. I love that I got to spend the day with my pup and taste beer. Please please please come here and bring your pupper.

Yelp
I'm updating my review in order to give Whitestone Brewery another star. Whitestone is becoming a fav of mine for a couple of reasons. First their beer is Primo, service is always friendly and professional, and I can sit outside smoke a cigar, enjoy a pint, and catch a ball game. Oh, and their rotating food trucks are a nice addition as well. The real reason for my update is to comment on their fund raiser for the Leander families who lost their homes due to lightning strikes. We originally stopped by to celebrate National IPA day and we walked smack dab into a house party. Whitestone outdid themselves by donating a buck for every pint sold, local restaurants provided food for a donation, there was a raffle, and a band that had a stump the band game that provided additional monies for the fund. I've never seen such long beer lines as folks lined up for their brews. I bet their taps were smoking as they went nonstop. Through it all the crew kept up with the pace and patiently went through the beer lists with all the newbies. I do hope the people that were there for the first time do return. Great job Whitestone!
google avatar

Spencer D.

Yelp
Recently moved to Cedar Park and came across this GEM. Great selection of craft beers, friendly staff, and a delicious food truck located out back. I was also told they are opening up a Liberty Hill location which you will definitely find me at. If you are looking for a place to grab a bite, grab a beer, or listen to music, Whitestone is the place to be!
google avatar

lea c.

Yelp
Great beer vibe. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Parking kinda sucks. The menu has a really good range of beers that I haven't seen anywhere else. Beer is cold and food options are good too. We had nachos and loaded tots. The Austin FC bold game was on. They had green beer and if you wore green you got a $1 off
google avatar

Manasa D.

Yelp
It's been a hot minute since I visited Whitestone- I think the last time I was here was in 2016, when it was quieter and a lot more laid back. Fast forward to 2021 - the city of cedar park and Leander are booming. There is a huge influx of population. The tables at Whitestone are full, there is a food truck (which is awesome) as a permanent fixture BUT the overall customer experience has left me disappointed. Maybe because it's a Sunday with lovely weather, the guy behind the bar is done with people, or, he isn't a people person , or, he just didn't like the way I looked? But man was it hard to get him to give me an effing beer without getting hateful glances. Yeesh. Im kinda scared of coming back here now! That aside, im not really a fan of their beer selection either - the kolsch is OK but I've had better. I guess the biggest advantage is the proximity to both CP and Leander and for the people who live around here. So, this isn't much of a review rather than a semi rant ? Also guys- kids have a tendency to move around from one side of the table to the other. They're not capable of sitting still and neither are you. If you'd rather than families stay away, just tell us to our faces.
google avatar

Abbey M.

Yelp
I do enjoy this place. The staff is wonderful. Food truck is great. Beer is good. But dang it, the patio is full of smokers all over. Smoke in your beer, smoke in your food, smoke in your face. Inside was pretty busy so there wasn't any seating. I wish smoking wasn't allowed but maybe a gate to open a certain areas for smokers that was a away from people and not blowing in our face.
google avatar

Brandon K.

Yelp
What an awesome spot, completely hidden in a shopping/business mall. I was searching for a good spot to get a drink with a buddy and stumbled upon Whitestone. We got in around 6, just in time for an hour of happy hour and to our surprise, the place was PACKED. Clearly, I was the last to find out about this place. I have had their beer before, but never knew it was made so close to me. Since leaving central Austin, I have really missed the ability to be so close to tons of Breweries but Whitestone fills that void. To top it off, music bingo twice a month is great! All in all, I can definitely say I will be back, especially for the $13 happy hour pitchers.

Yelp
Review time kids!! Hanging with my Texas "family" yielded a stop here. Man oh man, I'm so pleased too! Atmosphere is relaxed and there is a large outdoor covered patio, most important for dealing with the hot Texas sun. On to the rather large offerings from the brewmaster gods they have hiding in the back! I swear they have a "brewed in house" beer for anyone! I ran with 2 different, 6 sample flights. One I chose, the second I left to the barkeep. I loved both sample sets! Service was also spot on, great stuff all the way!!
