Whitlock's Restaurant

We tried Whitlock's Restaurant for the first time today and were impressed! The atmosphere was cozy and lively, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. we ordered the prime rib, which was incredibly delicious, and it lived up to the hype. What stood out most was how the owner introduced himself to us when we entered the restaurant and even treated us to a very delicious free dessert. Prices were reasonable. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for American cuisine, and we’ll be back to try more of the menu!

They make the best French onion soup hands down!!! I love it! Really good sandwiches and overall comfort food. Salads are great. House made creamy Italian is my favorite. This is a small cozy local spot with regulars, but staff was still welcoming, friendly, and attentive to us. Owner is very personable and comes around to check on customers. Reasonably priced. Many options. Definitely recommend!

Whitlock’s is an amazing local gem. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the service is so friendly. We booked the restaurant for a celebration of life and I could not be more complimentary. The owner, John, made the whole experience so easy, all the guests raved about the food, and the space gave us the privacy and comfort we needed.

Ten of us went to Whitlock's for dinner because I had told people about their great food; especially their famous prime rib, and their ribeye special. Their meat is tender, juicy and melts in your mouth with that charcoal taste that can’t be beat. Most of us got the steaks and some got seafood. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Everyone went crazy for the food. They loved it so much, they can’t wait to go back. They said they usually only go to steakhouses for steaks but they said they had one of the best steaks they have ever had, and their prices are great. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the owner and staff are very friendly. They also have great service. I would highly recommend Whitlock's for their steaks, seafood or anything else that's on the menu. We go as often as we can. It is one of our favorite restaurants.

In the past this place was great, but last week I had a bad experience there. The place was empty, several waitresses standing around. We sat down and the waitress handed us menus. She came back several times to ask what we wanted. I couldn't make up my mind, so she asked my friend if she could take their order.... to which they replied "no, I'll wait until everyone is ready". Once the order was placed a few more tables filled up. She brought the order, and mine was wrong. I had ordered a side salad not fries. I brought that to her attention, and she said don't worry about it because the salad was eaten earlier, fries were on the house. So, I started pulling them off my plate with my hands and placing them on another plate when she came back and said "oops, wrong order" and took it back. I heard the owner say, " plate more fries", (because most of them were still on my table.) She then came back and said that burger belonged to someone at the bar and they would make me a new one. So now my friend's dinner is sitting there while I'm waiting for my food, so it was cold by the time mine was delivered to the table. The only compensation offered to me was a dessert on the house...and the owner said he yelled at the waitress for the mistake. Wow.... I was taken back by what went on. It will be a long time before I go back there...if I do.

We’ve been going to Whitlocks for years and I have definitely seen a decline in the food and service. The last 3x have left us unsatisfied and we do not plan to return. There was one waitress for the entire place! And one bartender for a full bar. The food was bland and not as advertised…they substituted the whole belly clams for clam strips and charged me 40.00 without even telling me prior to receiving the order. The French onion soup was salty and with burnt cheese on top. The waitress never came back to the table and we had to get up and track her down for the check. No refills, no checking on us nothing! Mind you there were only 4 tables….so the place was far from packed. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

My husband and I just got lunch and the food was delicious! Best French onion soup in town. Our Waitress Danielle was so lovely! Definitely will be back soon

We went for lunch here and we all agree that our salads with added chicken, fish, were a huge disappointment. Bigger and much better salads at Panera! Overrated & overpriced. Once was enough!
