Whittier Brewing Company is such a fun spot to hang out. Great beer selection and a relaxed beer garden vibe make it perfect for kicking back with friends. They often have BBQ, pizza, or chicken wings—perfect pairings with a cold pint. The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back, and it’s an easy place to enjoy yourself. Definitely one of the best local hangouts in Whittier.

Whittier Brewing Company is a gem in Uptown Whittier, located in a beautifully restored historic building that adds a ton of character to the experience. The vibe is vibrant and social, with fun music, friendly crowds, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Their beer game is strong—especially the IPAs and pilsners—and they also offer a nice selection of wines if beer isn’t your thing. Weekends are packed with energy thanks to the events they host on Fridays and throughout the weekend, from live music to pop-ups and more. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a quality drink, soak in the atmosphere, and feel like part of the local community. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area.

They have a great selection of both beer and wine—something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for hanging out with friends or just unwinding. Big shoutout to Caleb for the amazing service! He was super friendly, helpful, and really knew the menu. He made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great brews, great food, great vibes! Love coming here after work for a drink and a bite to eat. With so many beers on tap, you’ll be sure to find something you like; The crooked porch is one of my favorites. Food court style eateries make it easy for everyone to find something they like. The pizza is always on point! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with great ambiance. Arcade style games inside give a nice touch and a fun option.

This place is sick! Located in Whittier’s tallest building, the food and beer is high quality. I double fisted on purpose since the lines were long which is a good sign. Love that the close late too

My SIL and BIL had been telling us about the amazing BBQ at Pit and Bull so we finally made it to the Whittier Brewing Company to check it out. I'm a sucker for brisket, so I got the brisket sandwich - DELISH -and my hubby got the Pit Burger which had burnt ends. He really liked his burger, but I really think my brisket sandwich was better! The buns were toasted up real nice and real tasty! I got my sandwich with fries and my hubby got the beans as his side. I'm kind of a fry snob, and I just want to say that they nailed it with their fries. They had shoestring style fries that were cooked fresh to order and were served nice and hot! My hubby's beans were tasty - and they had a little bit of a kick in them. They have lots of picnic tables in their dining area - but they filled up real quick - and once the place was full, it got really noisy! People were setting up for parties - definitely a fun spot for a party!!! We also picked up some sweets from Providence Bakehouse - I got the apricot danish, a guava croissant and a cinnamon roll. So far, we've only tried the apricot danish and it was really good - we'll have the others later for dessert tonight. I just have to note that the building is a beautiful historic building which housed the first law office of President Richard Nixon. This was definitely a great spot to check out while in Whittier!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a brewery that has it all, this is the place for you. Looking for BBQ Looking for outdoor patio that's dog friendly Looking for great tasting beer . Great quick service at a cool area.

Yelp
It's a very large, chill and family friendly space. They have a few different food options and ample seating. There's a decent beer and wine selection there. I had a tap yuzu hard seltzer which was pretty underwhelming honestly but the beers on tap sounded solid. I shared a pizza with a friend which was delightful. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for it but I'd happily have it again. They bring food out to you which is nice. It lets folks focus on conversation instead of waiting around for orders.

Yelp
Good selection of food, service is really good and the vibes or ambiance is absolutely dope! They are making an outdoor bar as well which should be up in time for summer! Recommend to come on Friday or Saturday when they have live music in the outdoor area.

Yelp
A favorite place to enjoy good beer and good food but I am bummed they are taking out the pinball machines that made the space also a highlight for our kids.

Yelp
Very cool place. Loved the live music and outdoor sitting area. The beer was delicious. I just wish there were more food options. Overall, I would recommend.

Yelp
It is pretty good, with the potential to be great. There are some food options- I think it needs at least one more food place and one more dessert place. The beers run IPA-crafty with funny names. I got a witbier. It's a wheatier Whittier. It is a clean, communal space with a large beer garden, but there's no free wi-fi. The lack of wifi makes it hard to commune. The building itself is great, first designed as a neo-classical, high-ceilinged bank, with polished floors and tall French windows, the venue is still handsome and big enough to host weddings at 15,000 sq ft. I just hope the DJs at these weddings don't need wifi. Plus, being a bank, DJs might freak out people when they tell them to get their hands up.

Yelp
The Brewing Company is located in the same food hall as La Crosta Wood Fired Pizza. It's a neat space, showcasing how a historical building can be repurposed to attract visitors to the site. They offer a wide variety of beer styles, with their German Pilsner being their most popular. All of their beers are locally made in-house and are reasonably priced at around $8 per pint. I liked how they have creative names to each beer. Although I don't remember what my beer was called, I went with the White Wheat Ale, which reminded me of Allagash Beer. It had a REFRESHING balance of citrus and spice. Behind the stall, they have an open display of all the ingredients used.

Yelp
Cena Vegan arrives to uptown Whittier at Whittier brewing food hall in a historic building. With indoor & outdoor seating, pinball machines & live music, and of course in-house brews by Whittier brewing (they have wine too) you can indulge in some authentic vegan Mexican food from Cena Vegan. This is the only location where you can find the "Gigante" items, the burrito feeds anywhere from 6 to 8 people, their taco tray that comes with tons of tacos, and their giant nacho platter is the yacht of their taco boats. If you are a Vegan in Whittier, this is a must visit the, Whittier brewery food hall where you can find Cena Vegan. Happy Munchies @aVeganAndHer

Been here a couple times with friends for different occasions and it's always a vibe! Lots of beer and food options with a great layout inside and out!

Yelp
This place provides an indoor location with plenty of picnic tables and plenty of independent food options including vegan tacos, wood-fired pizza, and crepes for dessert among other options. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The Brewing company has plenty of good craft beer options including IPA's, stouts, wine and ciders. All merchants were friendly and you simply order at the stand like a food court.

Yelp
Fun place, good food, great beer Historic building that is very interesting I like the outside beer garden with the outside heaters

Yelp
Such a great spot I somehow found myself here twice in one day! -Huge indoor and outdoor seating space -The beers are great! -Many food vendors: crépes, bbq, mexican, pizza Honestly the spot is super versatile and perfect for any occasion. I especially love a casual spot that is really conducive to chatting and gathering.

Yelp
Great selection of food! The beers are pretty good. Pizza is great. Good spot to hangout with friends. All staff is nice and chill!

Yelp
TL; DR - Huge space, lots of tables, great food options, great beer, great ambience. Came here on a Tuesday night and there were lots of tables open for our group. Grabbed a few pizzas from the pizza spot. They have classic topped pizzas like margherita and pepperoni, and also more creatively named and topped pizzas which were all delicious. Crust was nice and chewy; no way are you throwing away any of the crust! Good variety of beer, wine options. Crepes Bonaparte has a location here and their bananas foster crepe was perfect way to end our meal. Parking is available in lots. There's a metered lot and a 3 hr limit lot right next door. Would come here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly I am not a huge beer drinker but the lemon lime wheat was good. $8 for 16oz which is a fair price. I love sitting in the beer garden it's quite and cool. There is plenty of open seating :)

Yelp
Halloween Capers, it was so nice. The headbanger music inside , awful. I love the vibe here usually and I have never had a bad word to say about this place but family night and it was drums and might as well of been Metallica. I love the Genre, don't get me wrong but wrong night for it. Read the room kind of night? Wallflowers were playing outside and it was great, couldn't get a seat unfortunately. That's our fault for pulling up late. The beer was crisp as usual and I always been our visitors from out of town here but tonight made me want to road rage. DJ tonight might as well have stayed home and played music for themselves . Sorry but in my feelings right now. No chill zone here tonight. Stopped here twice tonight. Good beer, shit music. Ska is my wife's type of music but even she was put off.

Yelp
We are planning an event here and our scout plus another previous company thoroughly endorse!!
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
Great vibes here! Think of a cafeteria but cooler where you have a few options for food (barbecue, pizza, vegan Mexican food, desserts, crepes, etc,) and some libations. I had the pizza and it was delicious. Beer was great too! It does get crowded at the night progresses so get there early. Parking is a pain but that's Whittier for you.
google avatar

Yelp
Great local brewery! Love the wine options. Lots of in/outdoor seating. Live music on the weekends. Family friendly without having kids running around everywhere. Great plantbased and food options.
google avatar

Lizzie D.

Yelp
We went to this spot on a Friday and it was moderately busy. This building is gorgeous, it looks to be an old bank building. We loved the food stands, each with some very good offerings. Later in the evening the beer line got pretty crazy. Their new dark beer with vanilla is so good!
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
Came here for an awesome wedding. And wow the space itself was impressive. Both indoors and outside. It's been such a loooong time since I've been around Whittier but this was definitely the place to get reintroduced to my old stomping grounds I'll be back for sure especially how some of the regulars to the brewing company outside of the wedding events has hyped this place. So yes I'll be back soon so thank you
google avatar

Phyllis Y.

Yelp
Need more food choices andCoca Cola products. This is a good spot for groups - everyone pays for their own orders and lots of tables.
google avatar

Annie T.

Yelp
This place is in a center filled with a bunch of other food places and desserts and if I had known my friends and I would've eaten here instead. You have to find your own table but there's plenty around so it's not that bad. Overall I liked the location of this brewery bc there's a lot around so I'd definitely come back here again!
google avatar

Yelp
A local brewery and beer hall with actually fantastic pizza n' wings - also, a decent selection of ciders and mead as well, depending on seasonality, etc.. it's located inside the old BOA building, and tbh half of the appeal of this place is the building itself; a mid century structure that is pleasing to the eye. Also, unlike a lot of hipster breweries, the prices are very reasonable (most pints being around 7 bucks). 5 bright stars.

Tanya L.

Yelp
Fun brewery to go to. It's huge with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large selection of beers/wines which I love. They are very fast even with a crowd. And there are plenty of food options to choose from. They've also had live music outside everytime I've gone which is nice. Would recommend this place as a great hangout spot.
google avatar

Pedro A.

Yelp
Don't come here. Go somewhere else, so I can enjoy my Friendly Hills Pils, pizza/wings and play pinball in peace! Call it hipster if you want, sorry young bucks but if I can enjoy a cold beer with family in a large space, appropriate noise level (live music is in the outside patio), wooden slab tables that are easy to clean, within eye view of my son enjoying a few games with his cousin, what more can I ask for?! I've never had an issue with service, everyone is as friendly as I'm used to at a pub; standard protocol - secure a seat, pick your drink, order some food, kick it. The most hipster thing about this brewery is that there's a reading corner near the fireplace Im not hating, if I was a young professional and needed a place to crank out some spreadsheets during a working lunch, this would be my spot. Again, don't come here!!!

cynthia p.

Yelp
It was our first time here this past Sunday and will most certainly return. Pretty cool venue. My only gripe was the "visit' of a cartoon character who evidently was to greet children outdoors. The line of parents and their kids was a bit intrusive of the only entrance/exit to/from the indoor area. Seems the planning wasn't thought through. The food was yummy but that's because one of our favorite food vendors, Cena Vegan, has a spot there. The beer we had was very good as well. I wish I could recall the name, lol!

Yelp
Whittier Brewing Co. is refreshing with a nice location and good beer rotation. The bartenders are really amazing, and we're able to sample before committing. Great beer, great service, great place to grab a drink. Pairs well with pizza or wings from La Crosta! Really nice interior - no tv's (that's a plus) so you can hang out with friends and family. Food: N/A Value: 4/5 Experience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Good for: Happy Hour, getting together with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Do you remember GOTHAMS??? If you do...dang!!! Lol kidding...but...you do remember that MANY things went into this building. But....finally...I hope Whittier does right with this and people appreciate it. I experienced this concept in Denver and it was different but good. At first you want the full on treatment of servers...etc....but honestly...this isnt a bad concept. Multiple vendors...so many tables. Big parties...date nights...you name it...they can accommodate it. The pizza was DELICIOUS! Our bartender Ashley was such a delight. If you're in the area...dont knock this building until you walk in. I see how u could miss it...but thats what uptown Whittier is all about....ITS HISTORIC. Just ask us 70s & 80s babies....we have seen this town change so much.
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
This a great spot to come hang out. They have a variety of beer and even sparking wine. There was various food options for everyone. The pizza was good. I would recommend. They give you a number and take your food to your table, however that took a while to come out. They had live music later on in the night. It's kid and dog friendly so that was nice. TheI would like to come here again to try the crepes and the bbq. They have security and a sign that says no outside food or drinks but I was still able to bring a cake for our party. They even stored it in their fridge for us while we were there.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. Great atmosphere. They often have live music. The beer is always great. Amazing food. Super chill spot
google avatar

Brandy R.

Yelp
Great place to chill at by yourself, with friends, or with family. They have different options of food from pizza to crepes. A great selection of beer for anyone that enjoys drinking alcohol. They have the option to listen to live music outside as well for those who don't mind a louder area . Overall, great service all around and always a good time guaranteed here . (You can even bring your kids here ...that is if no babysitter available)
google avatar

Claudia R.

Yelp
Yummy food, pizza, vegan tacos, bbq, crepes, pastries, coffee, wine, and beer. Large areas to sit indoor and outdoor. Fun live band!
google avatar

Yelp
Issibele and Ashley are the literal best! They made sure counters were clean and handled a rush in the most elegant way they they are top tier workers and I hope that the owner can recognize this! Keep up the good work ladies and I am sure to come back!!!! Y'all deserve a raise!!!!

Yelp
Solid four stars . Great place to have a chill night out with friends or a casual date . It is a mini "public market " style . There is a pizza spot ( really good ) a crepe place , a BBQ spot , wine bar , pastry spot , and a small beer bar with some unique taps . Tried a few brews and pizzas . All the food and drink I tried were fresh and hit the spot for a casual weekday evening night out . They have pin ball machines and even an outdoor patio / beer garden for good weather days and eves . Will be back !
google avatar

Lance H.

Yelp
Had a really great time here. There are venders in there that have different things, I saw sandwiches and pizza. We went for drinks since I was taking a friend for her birthday. People are very friendly and it was new for us, we will be back. The main area is for everyone to dine and have drinks in. It looked like a wine bar but they were closed when we went.

Jesse M.

Yelp
Had the BBQ was great Place was cold and fireplace wasn't turned on . If you have one how about using it . It was cold and raining out side.

Yelp
I'm a Whittier Brewing stan and I'll die on this hill. Located conveniently in downtown Whittier, WBC has a huge indoor and outdoor space which is great for groups. They have a nice rotating menu of craft beers and a good selection of food options ( def recommend the pizza). On Saturday nights there's live music on the patio, which can get a little cozy but most nights there's plenty of tables available. Special thanks to the GM John and events manager Lorrie for the assist with setting up a weekend event for 30 people- everything was a breeze and the group had a great time. If WBC isn't already on your radar, it should be. It's a great local spot worth checking out.
google avatar

Lesley P.

Yelp
i love coming here for a drink whenever i can. my current faves are their sours PLUS their crepes are yummy. Another plus is Cena Vegan just opened a booth here :)

Angie Z.

Yelp
Super cute local beer garden! With Vegan tacos, fresh made pizza, or BBQ there's lots for one to choose from. They have different beer and seltzers on tap with a wine bar as well. Lots of comfy seating and some games to play inside. Outside there are lots of picnic tables with live music and outside heaters for the cold. Great place for the fam and pets as well!
google avatar

Thania M.

Yelp
Whittier brewery is definitely a great place to relax and listen to some live music outdoors; or hang with friends inside. They have pinball machines as well as a large chess set inside. It never feels overcrowded because the place is large enough. They have different vendors and special events but the tacos and pizza don't disappoint. The selection of beer changes from time to time and is pretty good. Only thing I wish is they had a few more no -alcoholic drinks for the kiddos since it's family friendly.
google avatar

Julie T.

Yelp
Much smaller than it looks in pictures. I had pulled pork plate (delicious food, mediocre service) and husband had a "chicken" burrito (he liked the food and the staff were helpful and informative). Beer was good and staff was also very helpful. The layout for food vendors and the overall space could be a lot more user friendly with a few tweaks imo. Patio was closed for remodel so we didn't get to check that out. Super noisy inside - it was a Thursday so weekends must be nuts. Wanted to book space for a private function but couldn't find anyone to ask about that. Grabbed some cake slices on the way out from the little corner place. Service was lack luster (the girl looked scared to interact with the public) and unfortunately the cakes (2 diff styles/flavors) were both really dry. A friend says the cinnamon rolls are amazing though. Not sure I will go back...my opinion is just all over the place on this spot but I want to really dig it and I just don't

Yelp
Nice Big Place With Different Booths Coffee Pizza Beers Pinball Machines And Other Things Gift Shop It's Family Friendly My First Time There I'm Going Back Forsure
google avatar

Yelp
Always good. I'm glad they have more for selections these days. I wish the bbq place was open more, but the pizza and vegan place are good too. Great beer selection, love the outdoor seating.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
This place is freaking awesome!! Great spot to meet up and hang with friends! There's a public parking lot nearby and you walk in the there's a line for beer and a couple of different food vendors. Beer selection was great, there was something for everyone. We didn't eat but the food looked delicious. Seating is long tables/benches. They also have a couple of pinball machines. It's is a little loud so don't expect to have intimate conversations. They have an outdoor patio/beer garden but when we went there was a little wedding reception being held there. It's family friendly too! Saw a lot of cute hip families enjoying themselves. Would come back for sure.
google avatar

Jahnean S.

Yelp
What a great atmosphere. I've see. This building evolve throughout the years and in its current state is the best. Went right when they opened on a Friday. Not every food spot was open yet but what I did have was good. Wood fire pizza and pulled pork sandwich. It's not easy finding good bbq that someone took time and love into making. The beer selection is good. Very family friendly, pet friendly and just a great spot all around.
google avatar

Kimberly R.

Yelp
Cute spot with lots of options for food and alcohol! Nice spot to gather with big parties and kids.

Aly C.

Yelp
I love this place. Best beer and ambiance. I don't want to take down the rating so I'm leaving five stars but the guy who works at the counter with the beer (has glasses and really gelled hair) is kind of mean to everyone :(. Anyway peace and love!

Carrie A.

Yelp
Grab the coffee by cup, pick up a dessert or 2! Can be a little pricey but desserts have always been delicious. Always check their instagram as they may have events to cater to and won't be open. Support local business!
