The D.C.-Area Restaurant Openings in October | Eater DC

"The first Daily Shop outside New York City arrives as the largest of Whole Foods Market’s smaller-format stores to date, running 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and debuting the format’s first Amazon pickup and returns. The compact, 10,000-square-foot setup brings a streamlined grocery experience to Crystal City." - Emily Venezky

This recently opened Whole Foods Market on Crystal Dr in Arlington feels smaller compared to other Whole Foods stores I've visited in northern Virginia. However, I appreciated its clean look with white tiles, and they even have an outdoor seating area for customers. Regarding food products, they are similar to those in other locations, but with fewer options. The store's smaller size makes the aisles narrower. The staff was friendly, and checkout was quick and easy, just like at other locations.

This Whole Foods Market is meant to be smaller than most locations carrying food for the daily life. With that mind, I was surprised by how big it is and how many normal goods they carry like pasta, soups, paper towels, and more.

Absolutely wild that people cannot seek to figure out the point of this SMALLER Whole Foods. Yes it’s obviously smaller. It’s a quick on the go market. It’s got most of what you need to throw a quick meal together. It’s got healthy options, organic produce etc. It’s a great location if you live in the area. If you’re driving 20 mins in then just go to the full size store down the street. This store is for anyone but locals and people who work in the corporate offices surrounding it will fare better. The hot food options are basically just pizza which they did because the main stores sell a lot of it. It’s got pre made meals that you can just toss in the microwave. It’s got alcohol. It’s got health foods. It’s got an Amazon return thing. It exists for you to just pop in to grab some stuff. Not sure why it’s confusing. Obviously they have so much business at their big store down the street that they could open a smaller one

Great setup and the workers are friendly. I have seen a few items on the shelf clearly molded, so always check your food. I’ve also seen too many non-service animal dogs roaming freely and as someone with a severe dog allergy, it makes me weary to return. Hoping this store tightens their policies.

This location is the worst location ever. Never have i had the worst customer service. I bought gluten free brend Tates gluten free cookies snd needed to return because the person we got it for didmt like lemon. I bought using my app and qrcode with my payment linked in app. 20 minutes of hassle to return and they could not. Thr store manager firrst name starts with K and ends with Y wss cslled finally after 10 minutes by the lady that was trying to return. So the manager accused me of many things snd i said this. I dont have a paper receipt. I paid by app. The app scan code she was using did not work. Them she troed my physical amazon card linked to the spp. It ddont work. I simply went snd got the on gluten tates cookies snd left. They were worse than useless. No wonder Amazon fired 30000 people. They clearly dont know snd dont care to train their employees on their own technology and blsme 100% of the issue on the customer for not having a paper receipt. I am never visiting whole foods again at sny location or amazon fresh now. I will bring my momey to a place that cares for its customers. Later I called Amazon support and they transferred me to Whole foods in store support. Their support told me is not possible to get return of your purchase at this location. You can only do exchange of any 3rd party products. They csn return amy 360 brand or in-store fresh food or parishable food with whole foods brand.

It's a very convenient place to get your things with the same quality as the big one. I don't understand the ignorance of the other reviews. It is not supposed to have a hot bar or everything else the big one does. This is a daily shop, so grab your milk/bread or other essentials. If you want the full experience just walk another 10min to the big one

It's a smaller version of the same store right around the corner, except the 'fresh goods' are not very fresh. Almost seems like they are sending the about-to-expire items over here. Not bad if you live closer to this store, but feels like oversaturation with the larger Whole Foods store down the street.

LOVE this new WF! It's cozy and clean, friendly and helpful team members too. Special shout out to JADA working the self checkout this morning on 11/17/25. Patient and friendly with helping with the store markdowns, really appreciated her after my horrendous experience at the WF on 12th St recently. Keep it up team!
