Yelp
I'm a fan of Ponce Whole Foods. It's one of the bigger and more popular Whole Foods in Atlanta metro. This location's popularity actually works against it. Sometimes, this Whole Foods is way too busy, inside (moving other people's shopping carts out of the way) and out (the crammed parking lot). However, it's usually not too bad.
A lot of people rave about the hot/cold bar, but I want to mention the bakery. The cakes, cupcakes, muffins, and other sweet treats here are delicious. You can purchase an assortment of 6-inch cakes here for $18.99. Examples of their cakes include:
Tiramisu
Hummingbird
Cookies and Cream
Black-N-White
Coconut
German Chocolate
Yellow
These cakes are great for just about any occasion and I think a lot of them are just as good as cakes you can buy from some of the fancy standalone bakeries. I absolutely love the Oreo cake. It's a chocolate cake that is completely covered on the outside by white Oreo cream with Whole Foods' 365-brand "Oreo" cookies on top.
Other snacks I like from the bakery include their 99-cent cupcakes, tarts, and Parisian macarons. The macarons are rich and decadent. I like Whole Foods' version because they're consistently soft, all-around. A few examples of macaron flavors are chocolate, pistachio, and coffee. I recommend the pistachio and coffee flavors.
I also recommend the mini pecan tarts and tartletts. They remind me of the nut tarts my mom used to buy from Dewey's Bakery in Winston-Salem, NC. They're sweet and appetizingly chewy. If you've never had one before, definitely try one. They're great.
As for the hot/cold bar, it's pretty dang delicious. You can get a well-rounded and healthy meal for $7.99 per pound. For someone like me, who likes to eat a lot, a nice plateful of food here is about 1.3 pounds or ~$10.50. Items I like to get include the mashed potatoes, green beans, couscous, chicken wings (they have 3 different flavors), saag paneer (Indian creamed spinach), couscous, kale (with "garlickly" sauce), pulled turkey and gravy, Southern-style beef brisket, and slow-cooked pulled pork. Just be sure to pick the fresh, moist-looking foods and you'll be good.
