Recently, I had the chance to shop at the Whole Foods , the first original WholeFood, One of the first things I noticed was its strategic and convenient location, which is always a bonus when I'm on the go. Inside, the store is impressively organized, ensuring an easy and pleasant shopping experience. They seem to have everything you'd need for a wholesome grocery trip. From fresh produce to pantry essentials, the variety is commendable. Overall, this Whole Foods store is top-notch. With underground parking and you're in for a smooth shopping experience!

Google
This store is most wonderful store we shopped. I have been in many Whole Foods stores, but this one is the best one. It has everything you need including pizza and soup and salad 🥗. Having this store we don’t needed to go to restaurants 😀👍. It has a variety of different types of foods and flowers 💐. Everything is fresh and delicious. I wish to like this store in Woodland Hills area 😀❤️.

Google
Whole Foods is one of my favorite stores. I had never been to this particular location and decided to give it a visit. I just liked this store a lot. They even had a flower shop which I have never seen in other Whole Foods. I also loved their collection of sourdough breads. They had a great selection of veggies and gluten free and healthy snacks. They had an amazing assortment of restaurants where you can eat inside the store. I also loved the cute little coffee shop. Had so much fun and would definitely come back again to this location.

The paradise of healthy and delicious food! Great atmosphere.

Next Level Burgers at Whole Foods Groceries and burgers/shakes! Wow, delicious! Originally, I had the double decker and it was a show stopper. Unfortunately, it was removed from the menu. The Maverick burger is also 😁. Try it out! Pros: Convenience in Whole Foods, Delicious, Lots of tables and seats Cons: Removed double decker burger 🍔

Google
Great hot bar/salad bar. Easy way to "eat the rainbow". Prepared foods, olive bar, good cheese selection, wine and beer, beauty and health care products, and even yoga mats. Great parking outside or down below in the garage. Onsite Juice Land and Burger Joint. Multiple salad bars with hot and cold food. Convenient dining area upstairs, and on ground floor; seating also available outside. A good amount of bulk grains and spices.

Google
It is insane how great this place is. They have many healthy food options but I went there for the hot bar and it was perfect. They had many different things from pizza to veggies to wings and more. This was only my second time being to a Whole Foods and it was just as good as the first time I went.

Erin Tilley

Google
Great location, my favorite and I come here often for the Lemon Artichoke Chicken soup (don't sleep on it!), but it's becoming rapidly more streamlined. The reason I took away a star is because they took away the Big John Cookie, THE reason I loved this location over all others and would go out of my way to go to this location vs others or other groceries. The Big John Cookie was a vegan chocolate chunk cookie that was decadent and easily shared and only available at this location. Only the brave would attempt it on their own in one sitting or *gasp* a second cookie (I did and made myself sick from the richness!). They discontinued it last fall and are sitting on the recipe, withholding the sweet goodness from us all. Bet: If you bring it back, I'll bring back that last star.

Yelp
This is such an iconic Whole Foods. Which their ATX art out front facing the street. I came today because I happened to be down town and I needed a few things for home. So I swung in their small parking lot, but they do have more parking in the back like a parking garage. I don't know how big that garage area is. I found parking in front. I was in and out pretty quickly. This Whole Foods has like a bar inside. You can sit and chill. Check out was quick. Didn't seem like a whole lot of people here afternoon on a Monday. Guess it's a good time to shop.

Ang F.

Yelp
Visit to Whole Foods is multi-purpose. Was able to pick up and return Amazon orders, while also fueling up with dinner foods and stocking up on every day items. Always a clean and smooth experience. Staff helpful. Visited around 5:30 PM and was unimpressed with the foods available at the time. Buffet trays were low and some foods looked like that they've been sitting there for a moment. Sushi was just alright. Chose sushi as an option because it's buy one get one 50% off on Fridays. I don't plan on getting ready to eat foods, especially sushi, any time soon. For the price, it makes sense to just go to a restaurant that specializes in the cuisine.

Yelp
The OF Whole Foods location has a lot to offer. It is huge!!!! And has a lot of options. The produce is always super fresh and the staff is quite friendly. My husband got hit on one too many times at this location lol so apparently also a pick up spot! It has tables, chairs, wine and food to make it into a date spot too!

Anamarie B.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance all great. Went to buy a cake... came in and out quickly by using the self checkout.

Heather B.

Yelp
This is my favorite Whole Foods. I come here for the bakery. The pastries are delightful! And the bread various and fresh. Cookies are soft or crisp, as necessary. One big negative, however, is parking. The lot is almost always crowded. Frequently, it is difficult to find a space. I think it's due to bakery cravings (*grin*).

Marissa L.

Yelp
A favorite Whole Foods Market. Fantastic food and service. The selection of fresh produce is huge. Depending on the time of day the parking can be a little tricky.

Kent K.

Yelp
Picked up sushi as a healthy dinner. It was dry, flavorless except for the poor quality ingredients used. Price was $12-$16 per tray. Very disappointing.

Donna J.

Yelp
We live in Austin and WF is the closest grocery store to our neighborhood. This store was once the bomb. Now it just bombs. The produce goes bad right away. The employees are like automatons--no eye contact, no hello. This is the way this store operates on a daily basis. Going to drive across town to Central Market, HEB, any place rather than here.

Michaela P.

Yelp
I don't come here often. I like WF, it's just not very convenient. Layout is great. Quality is great. Service is millennial. Four human checkout lanes. 100 self checkout lanes. Can I get a discount for displacing all those checkout clerks?

Shane S.

Yelp
Ruination Day- harmony in my head by Gillian Welch I went to the flagship of Whole Foods today. It is the mothership. It is huge and walking around the store looking at all the interesting items works up an appetite. I decided to go with a simple entree and two sides for $10. All items were marked vegan basically entree was fake vegan chicken with veggies, Brussels sprouts and sweet potato fries. Good deal. Solid meal with good size portion. Lots of options on the salad bar and hot bar. Vegan pizza. There was a Next Level Burger restaurant in the store with a different menu than the Bay Area in CA. They had a juice bar with smoothies. I am now completely ruined in the sense that every other Whole Foods won't be as awesome as this one.

Vic C.

Yelp
This Whole Foods Market has the instagram worthy ATX rainbow sign, which is what brought me and my husband here. And then we decided to grab some lunch afterwards and a few other snacks for our visit to Austin. This particular location has the following for food options that include: Juiceland, Next Level Burger (sells vegan fast food), hot and cold bar that you pay per pound, pizza by the slice and also can purchase the whole pizza, coffee bar, Bowie BBQ, Market Cocina that sells Mexican food. My husband ended up getting a brisket meal with sides from Bowie BBQ, which was okay but have had better barbecue in Texas. I ended up getting some food at both the hot and cold bar. Seating for your food includes inside, a small private upstairs seating area and a nice outdoor seating area. I know that Whole Foods is expensive but I do like the ready to eat food options and think they are sometimes cheaper than to dine at a restaurant. Would come back if I was visiting and wanted something for lunch.

Yelp
I wrote a review many moons ago when the Whole Foods HQ just opened and am updating my review after all these years. This store no longer feels like a flagship store. Amazon has pretty much sucked out any uniqueness to this store and covid over the last couple years has shut the few remaining restaurant counters. It's a tad cheaper and if you have Amazon prime there are different discounts. If your prime all your discounts are linked to your card or you can use the Whole Foods or Amazon apps. Selection is so so for example the bakery/pastry, it seems like cheese section has taken over parts of this section). My favorite, the chocolate section has moved into an aisle with other sweets but the brand selection isn't as extensive. However the wine selection is pretty good with lots of natural and biodynamic wines. I normally stop here to pick up something to eat after the gym from the extensive prepared foods area. It's proved by the pound except the soups and pizzas. Though after 7pm the more popular items tend to clear out with no chance of them refilling it. If your downtown this place and Trader Joe's are really the only supermarkets within a mile radius. Parking is no longer crazy; normally can find a spot easily on the surface lot without having to go the underground parking garage.

Brian F.

Yelp
This isn't just your typical Whole Foods, it's the very first location! We were actually going to check out the "atx" sign at the corner of the street when I searched online and realized that this was the flagship store. We were just going to leave after taking some pictures but with this new information we had to at least walk around. There is both surface level and underground parking so no worries there. The first thing I thought was that this place was huge. There are some stalls in a food court-type area and the fresh food area was especially huge with selections from salads to pizza. It seemed like everything there was in stock; if only my local Whole Foods was like that. Even if you're not going to buy anything or even if you're just taking pictures of the sign out front, I suggest coming here and walking around just to say you've been.

Kandish B.

Yelp
This is for their coffee bar. The coffee itself is amazing. I HATE the person behind the counter giving me the stare down when the tip screen comes up. It's happened three times, very aggressive. The lattes are $7.50 and I'm certain they make more than minimum wage. So, no I'm not paying $20 for 2 coffees. The nice thing about the Central Market coffee bar is no tip screen/jar, no pressure, just good coffee.

Joe A.

Yelp
The produce is still pretty good and they have a healthy selection of options. The staff is helpful. The prepared foods section has deteriorated badly: the main items never rotate and no effort is being made to prepare anything except the bare basics. Often everything is picked over and stale.

Jose C.

Yelp
Love the place, it was better before Amazon owned it. The service is good but not great Ambiance is slightly stressful Food was better.

LN R.

Yelp
It's fine, except there were big signs on the "snack break" packages for 15% off. After I got home I looked at the receipt, and I got 6% off. Bait and switch. I don't have time to go back.

B C.

Yelp
One super friendly guy in the bakery and one really unfriendly female employee. The friendly person was headed my way to help me, but he got cut off by the unfriendly person. Too bad for me. I don't think she's very happy, either working there or with something else in her life, or at least her affect appears that way. I like the meat counter guys, though. so I'm giving Whole Foods a 3-star rating. : )

MidWest B.

Yelp
Of course the While Foods ambiance is fantastic and the service due to people is great. This was, before Amazon purchased it, one of my favorite places to grab tacos, now they just taste mass produced with zero character. I've said so many time, if you want to know the soul of a person or company taste their food...well

Michael T.

Yelp
this has been me and the family's favorite grocery store to shop at for years. I can't help myself but to get something from the hot bar every time I go there. the food is always good and fresh.

Annie L.

Yelp
I shop Whole Foods in another state and I am here visiting so I am quite excited to be in their flagship store in Austin, the headquarters where it all began. I'm very impressed with this store! But then it's the flagship store so it has to be better and have more cool stuff than all the other ones I've been in, and it does! We bought the ingredients for our Christmas night dinner and oh, it turned out so delicious! I credit it to the fresh and wholesome foods that you can get at this Whole Foods.

K W.

Yelp
I go WF quite a lot since 2000's. I have always purchased the Caesar chicken wrapper for years. Until recently, I was so appalled and had to take the picture of it. The wrappers becomes mini. You can see two pieces on both side that should be a whole piece on left side and another piece on right side. The price is ridiculous. $7.99 for "one piece" and it says 640 calories. It should be 320 calories and $3.99 for this box. I decided to stop going WF ever since. Not only that, I noticed there are burnt pizza pies laying on a bar. It hurts my teeth when I see it. Where are you, 2000's?

Keshia R.

Yelp
I love Whole Foods!! This is one of my favorite locations! Everyone is so nice and helpful. You can literally come here and walk around for hours. They have a Juice Land inside which is awesome! Parking is a little challenging at times but they have plenty of parking. I highly recommend this location.

Michael R.

Yelp
It's an okay grocery store but the salad bar is always missing things. Sometimes even lettuce. They obviously overcharge because it's whole foods but it feels accelerated here. Employees always in bad moods to the point of avoiding check out lanes. Maybe that's on purpose to get people to use the self-service. It seems like after Amazon bought them this store went straight downhill. Wish they'd move and let another grocery store in to downtown.

Jim N.

Yelp
Passing through downtown after an airport pick up, and headed into WFM downtown to do a little grocery shopping. The produce section was bursting with high quality vegetables, super fresh! Wine selection many and is top quality, including many highly rated bottles under $25! Top quality bakery too! Plenty of freshly prepared, self-service, carry out foods, hot and cold, if you need a quick meal to go. A wonderful place to shop and eat!

Kasey F.

Yelp
Besides being the flagship store, this location is also the largest. On a recent trip to Austin, my family headed straight here from the airport to stock up for the weekend. This Whole Foods is typical of the rest plus more. They have a great beer section, bakery and hot foods, and there are also stations where rice bowls/sushi, juice/smoothies, and even Austin barbecue are made to order. This store is somewhat unique in its layout since these stations are sprinkled through they store and not all on one side. Honestly, the store is huge and I'm sure I missed some things. We left happy with a couple bags of groceries and of course paid too much!

Scott D.

Yelp
Very cool visit to the flagship WFM in Austin. Justin at Customer Service was so nice, Reagan helped me find my Essentia water, and Katherine was an awesome Cashier.

Amy E.

Yelp
This has got to be the best Whole Foods that I have ever been to! I've been to Whole Foods in NYC and several in the Washington DC area, but this Austin store is definitely the best! What a great selection of meats, cheeses and baked goods! I also really appreciated the Local Austin gift baskets with great local products. The Barbeque takeaway me dining areas were great, too!

Yar P.

Yelp
Terrible prices, limited selection, creepy security. In other words just like most every other whole foods. I wish Amazon had never bought whole foods, because while Amazon is great in many ways, whole foods is the luxury butt hole of supermarkets, a veritable retail enema.

Former N.

Yelp
Cooked brisket is $25 a pound. When an inexperienced clerk cuts the brisket WITH the grain, it makes the meat tough. Should be cut AGAINST the grain. Would make the meal more enjoyable if you did not have to dice the meat to make it edible. Also would be nice to get slices of meat that were not 1/2 inch think, it is brisket, not steak. Can you provide the staff a better knife so they can cut the brisket in reasonable slices? It is possible that the 1/2" thick slices are due to cutting against the grain as it is tearing apart vs being cut. Either way, please would you work on the issue to provide an enjoyable meal for the money paid?

Tia W.

Yelp
Do not do not DO NOT get your sushi here. Within an hour after leaving I had horrible affects of food poisoning. Now the day after I am having the worst diarrhea of my life.

Cathy C.

Yelp
We went to get steaks to grill on Memorial Day. Entire meat case was empty and no steaks available. The guy at the meat counter told us togo shop and he would get one for us but needed time to finish up. So we don't get to pick our steaks out? They had 3 hours left before closing. This has been a frequent theme at this whole foods. The hot food area is frequently closed early.

Ye L.

Yelp
This store is overpriced. There are maybe 5 items in the entire store that they sell at normal prices. The rest are 50% over normal prices and are examples of price gouging, plain and simple.

Ralda A.

Yelp
Thank you to the everyone at this store! I was there two days before Thanksgiving and the shelves were beautifully stocked with everything I needed. The mood was very festive with the employees laughing, definitely busy and very helpful. Much appreciated

Francis J.

Yelp
Obviously iconic to shop at the spot WF was founded. I love that they have incorporated JUICELAND. I love that they have so many SELF CHECKOUT lines. It's so appreciate that they have a few zones to sit in and eat. I deducted stars however because.. Whole Foods, come on.. CANOLA OIL? Why does everything in their hot food bar contain canola oil?! Did they not get the memo on this? For a supposed health food provider, this is so disappointing, especially when there are so many oil alternatives. Better yet, non-greasy options could be made available (steamed, baked, etc.)

Don L.

Yelp
Whole Foods HQ - it's basically the mothership! I come here often and the now famous grocer owned by Amazon has to me changed very little at this establishment. I hope it only gets better while keeping to the WF vision. If you are visiting Austin I suggest coming to this location just to say you've been. It's Whole Foods and if you've been to one you know the deal or lack thereof as some consider it. I find WF to be quality without compromise and although I usually come for their water, and Topochico prices I do occasionally come for lunch during the week here. Evenings are great for their bar area as well just don't forget your WF card for discounts should you be getting some groceries before you leave!

Xiao Z.

Yelp
Bought oyster from the seafood section and asked the staff to open them. The price was much better a month ago when it was $0.8 each, now it's $1.5 each. The quality was fine, only complaint was that the guy who helped us opening the oysters was really tardy at serving us, he told us to wait for ~15min, but when we returned after a while it turned out that he just started to do the oysters while kept chatting with someone else. and finally after more than half an hour we finally got our oysters...

Jordan W.

Yelp
Zero lobster in your lobster bisque. Really appreciate the $8 purchase. Really gross too. Thanks!

Jacques I.

Yelp
Flagship Whole Foods! Hey, when in Austin... We visited the flagship Whole Foods, which I recommend doing if you like Whole Foods and in need of food and even beer! As with all flagships, this was the best Whole Foods I've been to. The massive already-made food selection had a lot to offer. There was a build-your-own acai bowl, which isn't a thing in Bellevue. For tacos, burritos, bowls, etc..., you can order it from a screen, so it'll be ready for you by the time you're done grocery shopping, and the cookie selection was unreal. Anyone who knows me knows I love me a good cookie. I also came back to Whole Foods during the morning where they serve biscuits and gravy. Jealous this isn't at my location! But the bar was where to hang, as they have a happy hour! We visited on a weekday during happy hour and the place was packed with Whole Foods corporate employees. The bar isn't too big of a space, but people come and go, so it was easy to find a seat. Beers on tap and wines were a dollar off. Most of the beers were local. But, if you don't find a beer you like, ask the bartender for suggestions. When I couldn't find an IPA on the tap list I loved, the bartender actually walked with me to the cold beer selection of the store and helped me pick out a local, hoppy beer. Best of all is that you can buy a bottle at the bar and it'll be way cheaper than what's on tap. I can get down with that. I also loved seeing all of the local products at this store, with signage pointing to what's made around the area. That's how I found out about the Monster Cookie from Henbit. It was thick, soft on the inside, with chunks of chocolate and pecans. Lots of great items to discover. They also do have some "Austin" items, like tees and stickers. Gotta love Texas and Whole Foods, baby.

Ed G.

Yelp
I've been a customer of Whole Foods and Amazon since 1998 (almost 25 years). While I buy from both weekly, since the Amazon purchase Whole Foods has lost some of it's soul. Whole Foods here in Austin at the flagship location, used to be a shopping experience and community, now it feels like I'm shopping at Walgreens. Sorry to see you go old friend.

Dawn H.

Yelp
HUGE

Megan L.

Yelp
My friends and I are huge fans of Allegro coffee now! We can't believe it's located inside a Whole Foods, but their service is really good and their iced vanilla lattes are so comforting too. One of my friends who is not big on coffee LOVES Allegro. We are not sure why, but I have never seen her finish a cup of coffee before but she finished her entire Allegro latte.

Shani S.

Yelp
So if you come to Austin and you like Whole Foods, you have to stop in at the original one where it all started! I thought there would be more things to buy promoting the fact they started in Austin and this is their flagship store, but nothing... The store is packed full of all kinds of good stuff. It felt there was more than the average Whole Foods store. Easy to find with lots of parking up top and in the below garage. The hot food section was amazing and they have a burger joint inside also. I also like the station where you just input what you want and then come back and pick it up!

Mechelle S.

Yelp
I have a love hate relationship with Whole Foods. First of all my expectations are high all the way around. This is their flagship store so it was crazy busy with customers and employees stocking shelves. I love walking through the store just looking at Austin's Weird people and this is where you will find them. They are weird but super cool and the vibe in this store represents Austin's cool people. They have a great variety of foods which makes it fun walking through the store. The ready made food seems to be the most popular area of the store. If you walk in the bakery and express entrance you are hit with these yummy displays of confections and I love oatmeal raisin cookies so I bagged 2 of them up and did the rest of my shopping. Store associates were helpful as I was looking for very specific items (knife to cut celery, pork rinds). I have to say they have a great selection of groceries and it's easy to spend hours in here. I was taken aback with all the Amazon Prime signage and that they are selling Amazon Digital devices. It seemed out of place. I'm happy and go to check out then wait for my Lyft to pick me up and take me back to my hotel. I asked the Lyft driver who happened to be shopping at the same time as myself what he thought of the quality of service and products since Amazon took over. His quote not mine, "the product quality has gone downhill". I was thinking about my cookies! Could not wait to take a bite...SO DISAPPOINTED! #Stale. Then I recall the last time I was in town over a year ago and the cookies were stale then. They look good but awful stale and super hard. My review is based upon my cookies mostly. If it looks good and it does not taste good then somethings wrong here.

Shradha A.

Yelp
Whole Foods is still a really good option for groceries, even after the Amazon purchase. The bakery and the bulk sections are my favorite! The produce is good but sometimes I'm surprised they don't have seasonal fruits. Also, the organic leafy greens have twice been bug-infested.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Love the store. Great layout and lots of variety in their options. Healthy options are abundant and they have something for everyone. Great place to stop if you're looking for a healthy quick meal as they have lotta options for ready-made food as well. Felt the need to leave a review today because of one of the cashiers. The gentleman name Wes, appeared to be a happy and kind guy, however I quickly came to realize this was only for the young women checking out in his line. When my turn rolled around, Wes completely changed his entire personality. Ignored every question or attempt to talk to him and went on with an upset face. I understand the desire to talk more to a female, but being rude to someone else isn't cool. Definitely not the kind of customer service I expect from Whole Foods. Don't check out in Wes's line unless you are a young female.

Christina O.

Yelp
Whole Foods has got it going on. From the produce section to the fresh flowers section to the coffee options to the bakery and literally everything in between. Whole Foods is our favorite place to shop for produce and most of our weekly staples. High quality items and great customer service. Thank you Whole Foods

Anna N.

Yelp
I LOVE Whole Foods, so when we planned our Austin trip, we had to check this store out. It's so huge that it has its own parking garage with different levels! That's crazy! There were a lot of people there to hang out and eat. It was probably a good idea since it's close to ACL. Lots of samples were being given. Their alcohol selection is big and it was tough to narrow down what I wanted. If you love Whole Foods, I suggest checking this place out. It's everything that you want & more!

Brett J.

Yelp
Grocery store, bar, or restaurant? Completely AMAZING! What a fantastic and unbelievable venue... I hesitate to call this location a grocery store because it is just so much more then that. I believe I counted no less then 5 different eating places inside... from fresh sea food, to Italian, to tacos, to sandwiches, to BBQ, etc... and all of them were filled with people enjoying their food. They even have a bar area inside with many exotic wine and beer selections. What a way to shop! Stop at the bar order your beer/wine to "go" and drink it while you peruse the various wonderful items available all over this mind blowing store. The selection is outstanding... from all kinds of organic apples, dragon fruit, horned melon, and just tons of other normal and exotic produce choices to a cornucopia of meet choices including chicken prepared 7 ways from Sunday, bison steaks, aged beef and so much more, and don't forget the bakery... ohhhhh what wonderful finds there! Even their floral area was stunning.. it was completely filled with a wide assortment of beautiful and unusual fresh cut flowers of all kinds. It was breath takingly gorgeous! Just when you think what in the world else could they do you will round the corner and see the huge salad islands, the long buffet of olives, the "forever" selection of ready to eat, pack and go things that they have in 4 different long sections. A complete bevy of choices for the picky or adventurous pallet! As if having all of this selection in various shoppable goods and the choices in eatery locations all over this location was not enough they also have a skating rink and play area on the roof! Seriously?!? Everyone we met was extremely polite and helpful, the cashiers were speedy but personable yet too, and the venue it's self was immaculate. I was completely stunned by just how extraordinary this location really is! We went way out of our way to come to this location and I can tell you it was more then worth it... and I know we will do it again!

Elyse M.

Yelp
This Whole Foods is pretty big and has a lot of selections. I love the vegan croissants here! The store is clean, shelves organized, employees are friendly. I've never had to wait in line very long at the self checkout, which is nice.
