Google
This Whole Foods Market has plenty to explore. Great selection. Salad bar with nice hot foods and fresh salad fixings. If you're able to visit, it's worth it.

Google
New store. Great location. Had all the things you look for in whole foods. Easy to access, easy to park. Tons of inventory and selection. We were there specifically for organic decaf coffee, kombucha, and essential oils. All was available and a large selection to choose from. Nice service too.

Went there for Pizza dough. I am thoroughly impressed by the level of knowledge of the staff. I asked the first staff near dairy section. He walked me to the different choices available and transitioned me to even more knowledge staff at the bakery. 5-star for Customer Service. They won me.

Peak Potential

Google
This grocery store is conveniently located and is very easily accessed from various areas of town. The selection of produce is diverse and was very fresh. The store itself is clean and clutter free. Prices are competitive and the staff was very helpful. Parking was plentiful. Looking forward to going back.

Google
The staff is helpful and excellent at this location: Friendly and knowledgeable. They have a decent selection of products, and a wide range of prices. Overall, not terrible for a corporate store.

Google
Not necessarily “whole paycheck anymore” I firmly believe that you should buy the best things to eat you can. This is where you buy them since they have introduced their 365 private label. Their prices have gotten more reasonable on those items. If you can’t find something there is always someone that knows exactly where it is and will walk you to not just point. They have a plethora of prepared foods and the best single slice pizzas in Kansas City.

Google
Awesome location in the heart of the city. Next-door to UMKC, and right across the street from the plaza, this location is perfect. Tons of parking including a parking garage. This location is built into the floor level of apartments. Tons of fresh options as well as prepared foods. The prime discount is awesome. Make sure you download the app.

Google
I live about halfway between this Whole Foods and the Overland Park location, and I will only go to this one. This one is MUCH better. Beyond a better selection and layout, I notice the seafood area smelled okay. I understand that the seafood here just can't be as fresh as it is on closer to a coast (I recently moved here from Maryland), and there's going to be some smell no matter where you live, but it shouldn't smell rotten and sickening either. This one smells much less than Overland Park, which made me gag from the smell, so I figure the whole store is probably cleaner and better kept, even behind the scenes.

Yelp
We needed a quick bite for dinner and didn't want to spend time seeing where we could go. Happened to be driving by this location and figured we would see what they had to offer. Turns out, they offer quite a few choices. We sat at their bar and ordered chicken fingers and fries and a salad to share. We had enough chicken that even with both of us sharing it, we still had some to bring home. The portions are definitely a good value and the food tasted great. No complaints at all!

Yelp
This was my first visit to Whole Foods. I stopped in to grab a few quick meal options for the road and perhaps a fresh pre-made dinner. The selection was disappointing. There were so many meals places under incorrectly labeled sections. For example, precut fruit being placed in a section that says $8/$9 but actually being $17/$25. Another example is finding chicken nuggets/bites under a tag for turkey meatloaf. I also noticed that the options for meals were all items covered in a sauce/pasta or heavily breaded. I would've expected some lower carb/ healthier entrees in addition to those. For example chicken and broccoli, shrimp etc. Also the food bar area needed to be refreshed and cleaned. It was the evening time and the store was busy so having someone regularly maintaining the appearance would help. It was off putting for me to see the hot bar in that condition and made me not want to purchase any premade foods here. The products in this store are also wildly overpriced. I probably would not shop here regularly

Yelp
As I have for the last several years, I ordered a prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 8 people from this store. I've ordered prepared Thanksgiving dinners from Whole Foods in the past which have all been great but this year was definitely sub-par. The green beans supposedly just needed to be reheated, however, they tasted like they hadn't been pre-cooked. The mashed potatoes were pretty dry, as was the turkey itself. I was disappointed with the food because it wasn't the usual tasty Thanksgiving meal I'd become accustomed to. This year will be the last time I order a prepared Thanksgiving dinner from Whole Foods. I'll still visit this store for my weekly grocery shopping.

Yelp
My husband and I chose to eat at the Whole Foods Salad bar and hot food bar today $11.99 a pound. Absolutely horrible. The meatballs were burnt on the bottom and literally had a black, burnt crust hidden under the sauce. The tofu tasted like soap and the Brussel Sprouts still had the hard woody bottoms left on and one was so old that half of it was inedible. Since I got mostly Brussel Sprouts, I am betting I paid $1.50 for the inedible parts. Major disappointment and a mistake we will never make again. Service was good, as usual but since we took our lunch to eat on the road, we can't take it back and complain.

Yelp
Yes it's my go to grocery but on a cold rainy day just reminding it's a great place to drop in for a casual lunch and glass of wine. The cafe area is also a buzz with folks and a great place for 1 too. Great beer and wine selection+ plus a great slice

Yelp
Oh my gosh, we shop here all the time and the produce often looks a little tired but it's Whole Foods so there are a lot of ingredients here that are hard to conveniently source elsewhere. We bought shrimp today, though, that is so disgusting this store ought to be ashamed of themselves for selling it. It's as if the shrimp was soaked in dirty water for a long time- the meat is permeated with the taste of plastic dish bin and dirty dish rag. It makes me very dubious of buying anything from their seafood counter... it does not taste like it's been kept clean. I only ate one and I can't get the taste out of my mouth. All my guests are equally disgusted. Sad because they look like good shrimp and my husband cooked them perfectly, but sadly they are inedible.

Yelp
Whole Foods offers many quality selections ranging from food, drinks and dog shampoo! The food options are great, with a focus on healthier options. I normally pop in when I need olives, cheese, ginger snaps, spicy jam and wine. Service is always great, and the store is always clean!

Yelp
I have a Handicap placard for my car. Today I pulled into Whole Foods to Shop as I do a few times per week. One one the handicap spaces was taken up by a young lady filling her car with groceries to be delivered to customers. She had no handicap anything on her car. I asked this 20 something and she pretended not to understand or speak English. I was told by Whole Foods that she works directly for Amazon. Amazon should train their staff to respect signage that affects Seniors.

Yelp
I remember back in the early 2010s when rumors began that a Whole Foods would open in Brookside. As a then Brookside resident I was elated, but alas it would take me moving to Seattle and back before this long anticipated store would open its doors. Long story short, I don't live in Brookside anymore, but I do enjoy visiting this Whole Foods location when I'm in the area. First of all, it's gorgeous. It's brightly lit, well stocked, and I love the salad bar and prepared foods they have on the ready. They also have a pretty good local liquor section. It's not massive but pretty solid for a small dedicated space. Now, it's not perfect - there could be more local offerings, and the staff is really hit or miss on if they are welcoming, BUT overall I really do enjoy this spot and love having an excuse to snag a salad if I'm in the area.

Yelp
This has evolved into my favorite grocery store in Kansas City, and I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood. I've had my shares of ups and downs, but ultimately, that's life, right? For busy parents + pandemic, this has been a godsend. We opt to do a grocery pickup quite often, living in the same zip code. You order on your phone, check in on your phone, and then pull into one of the marked parking stalls (side note, the spots are tight and I wish there were more than two as people often ignore the signage and park in them erroneously.) Inside is great as well, with the exception being the absolute geometrical logjam at the very front. It's tough to navigate without bumping into someone or something, but it's also where the produce is which is typically excellent here. Staff has been friendly and helpful during the pandemic, and the crowd here typically errs on the safer side with masks and sanitizer, regardless of whatever city or political battles are raging on. Great grocery store in a great part of the city!

Yelp
I love Whole Foods! This location is amazing. The staff are friendly. The coffee shop is phenomenal and the latte was only $4. Which is pretty reasonable for a coffee shop. The service was quick. I also love going here when I don't have a lot of time. The hot bar has tons of healthy and quick options.

Alexis V.

Yelp
Tempeh salad bar, spoonful of quinoa when indulging in grains, a little roasted sweet potato starch, seeds, on spring mix. Mountain Valley water less than $3. Refillable at the bars and stays cold. Nuts and seeds are a good price at Whole Foods but if I'm being honest if nuts like walnuts are from California they are apart of a commission and contribute to diverse genomes and Aldi also provides a good price.

Yelp
I stopped by to buy a roasted chicken, no problem, but when I opened it up at home it was so dry I couldn't eat it.

Yelp
Having recently moved from San Antonio, where I frequently shopped at the Vineyards Whole Foods, I have been looking forward to finding a Whole Foods in the KC area. Unfortunately, there is not one close to where I live in Blue Springs. However, this morning I ventured to the Whole Foods on 51st St -- 24 miles, 35 minute drive -- not a quick trip. I did not have a good experience. I did find some of the items on my list, but left without pine nuts, Broccoli Crunch Salad, fresh Thyme, Piquillo Peppers, plum tomatoes. I asked for help four different times and the staff people seemed to be too busy to give much help, other than, "I guess we're out." I did get some help from the staff in the cheese department when I asked about a specific cheese from Wisconsin. With this store being a bit far for everyday shopping, it is doubtful that I will return any time soon.

Yelp
One of the best stores on the planet. Best place to buy chickens to cook . Wonderful beautiful bakery and cooked food and flowers too and the juicery! Great place for cosmetics too! Honey and vitamins

Yelp
I come here from time to time, and I've never been disappointed! I love the variety that Whole Foods has to offer. Produce is fresh, and there are so many options for basically everything. If there's something I can't find at a regular grocery store, I can always find it here. There are also so many different brands to pick from, which gives me the opportunity to really discover what I like best. Staff is super friendly and always helpful with finding stuff. Plus, unlike other stores, Whole Foods is always so clean. I feel a lot more comfortable picking up a meal from their self service bar than at any other place. Expensive? Sure, which is why I unfortunately cannot come as frequently as I'd like. However, I definitely find it worth it for the days I feel like cooking something a little fancier than chicken nuggets or quesadillas. I really love this store and I'll be back!

Yelp
I was really surprised to see this place only had 3.5 stars overall due to a good number of one-star and two-star reviews. Then I saw that all those bad reviews were from before I started shopping here regularly. Management must be doing a good job of ameliorating any issues. I've been coming here regularly for about a year and a half. I never found anything egregious here. It's a good spot overall. Cashiers and customer service are generally friendly. A couple times there were some minor mistakes when being rung up, but customer service was always great about rectifying them. I have visited numerous Whole Foods nationwide and this is a solid store on par with the brand. It doesn't get five stars from me because there's nothing super-duper awesome about it, as I've been to some super-duper awesome Whole Foods. For example, the fresh seafood selection could be better, but we are in the Midwest. The patio and dining areas seem nice though. Overall, I quite like shopping here. It's definitely worth your business.

Yelp
Always tons of selection- healthy and delicious. You get what you pay for. There is not a WF near us - so we're usually traveling near one and stop. Grabbing a soup and a selection from the Olive bar, some top notch bread and quality coffee. If a Amazon Prime member there are discounts (even a package pick up area at most!) The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
There is such a large selection at the food bar here. Also tons of hot soups and drinks. There appear to be a wine shop within the store as well. I ended up get some Chili and a clementine sanpellegrino for lunch because I didn't want to be too full. Their sushi bar and ceviche and poke bar was very tempting as well. I was also so excited that they offer Bell's Hopslam Beer, which is my all time favorite. I of course didn't get it for for lunch but will save it for another day. The interior was clean and the energy was more fast-paced and busier than most Whole Foods that I been to. They have plenty of people running the place to keep up with its pace. There were also multiple dining areas, 2 downstairs and apparently one upstairs that I would have to check out another day. My experience there was wonder and would definitely recommend trying it out when you're in the area.

Yelp
FRESH VEGAN PIZZA! KC has a handful of pizza joints that offer vegan options but mediocre for the price. I've never been a fan of grocery store or gas station pizza but I thought I should give this one a try.. Now I'm patting my own back. WF pizza is not only perfectly cooked (to my liking) but half the price of the other joints and twice the size! Every Friday, I pick up a whole pie for under $23 and it's perfectly delicious every time! The absence of a 5th star is for the actual store. Stuffy patrons and unreasonably priced staples. I can't get out of there without spending $100 on basic needs (milk, oats, nuts, coffee etc) however, it is convenient and eliminates 3 additional stops just to stock up on my daily essentials. Overall, this store is great, clean and thoughtfully inclusive to all dietary lifestyle's/restrictions.

Yelp
I really don't think any local KC maker was left out within a 100 mile radius. This includes a legit bar with fave brew pours. Oh we fancy now! Counted 4 snazzy areas that a bearded, tattooed, Charlie Hustle tee, Mac toting, iced latte sipping fella could enjoy, oh wait, they in fact have already laid claim by the dozens. BUT are they still 'WHOLE PAY CHECK' ? Yes, and no. For opening day, deals abound, and a week later same deals going strong. Right now you can pick up all the dinner essentials for 4, wine and sides included, 30$. In the echelon of cheeses you can still drop $$$ on the great but the $ is good too. It's borderline ADDHD, where to focus, start? What do I want to eat? This looks good but that looks good too. You immediately get this feeling like one visit won't even cover it and that might be the point.

Yelp
Such a cool looking store. It's light years away from the old Whole Foods on Metcalf. The layout is awesome and intuitive and such a great use of space. Even the parking lots and garage are very well laid-out. It feels very urban in here. Lovelovelove that there are lots of places to sit and eat, even a patio outside. They're crazy busy of course since they just opened, so the tables outside weren't getting cleaned off, unfortunately. That was the only bad part about my visit. The amount of fresh food they have available is incredible. It's basically like one of those buffet restaurants, but with much better, healthier choices. My daughter and I kept seeing things we wanted to try and ended up getting the weirdest assortment of food haha, but it was all really good. Everything is weighed by the pound. We came out just under $30. Not bad for a dinner out for 2. I'll definitely be back here for grocery shopping when the crowds have died down a bit. But honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it stays busy here. A place like this was much needed in this part of town.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute and small-seeming on the outside but big and spacious on the inside! I really liked the layout of this place with the produce right at the entrance as you walk in, meats and seafood past it, dairy wrapped around the back and leading to the bakery section. There were high ceilings and a lot of open space. The prepared foods and salad bar was very extensive I decided to get a little bit of like 10 things because they all looked so delicious! There was also a little ice cream mochi kiosk- $2 for one, 6 for $10, and 12 for $18. Overall, great experience and the cashiers were nice.

Yelp
Going to UMKC now for a couple of semesters and this place is killing it for me, especially since it's just a stone's throw away for me! Growing up, Whole Foods was one of those "specialty" stores that we ONLY went to if we needed specific products, so I never got to go much and when I did, it was with my parents looking for something specific. All I can say is, boy...I've missed out on a bunch. I know the KC metro area only has a few Whole Foods scattered about, but we definitely need a few more. To my understanding there's none around the Blue Springs and Lee's Summit area which is a shame. The stores I've gone too are always nice and pristine. The products in store are of course on the more expensive side, but the quality shines. Also, the food and snack selections of this store are unlike any other "American" grocery store I've ever been to. Everything from fresh pizzas, Asian inspired steam buns, Macaroon cookies from the bakery and even a self serve Mochi ice cream bar. You name it, they might just have it. Not to mention, everything I've had so far is pretty delicious as well! I know it's just a grocery store, but if ya haven't been to one, it's worth the trip. At least go check it out and see if you come out the doors with anything!

Yelp
Not gonna lie: I'm that person that became an Amazon Prime member just to get the best deals here. I love whole foods (even if the prices can be a bit much) and this one holds a special place in my heart. From fresh produce, to their delectible hot-line food, to the amazing meat center (not what I'd classify as a typical deli), you're sure to fine unique and possibly habit-forming food options. My favorite things to get there: spinach/feta/chicken burgers, rose/mint kombucha, and ceviche.
google avatar

Angie W.

Yelp
5+ stars for Lisa!! She's the nicest, friendliest cashier. She's always got a smile on her face, and happy to help you!
google avatar

KL J.

Yelp
I used to love sitting on the patio at the 51st street location in KCMO. about a year ago I noticed how dirty and uncared for it became. trash on the ground and dirty tables, over flowing trash cans. it's really disappointing how such a lovely patio is now just a junky area that no one cares for. The inside of the store is a completely different story. Great service and clean store. It's a shame that there is such a difference between inside and outside.

Alexis D.

Yelp
Really bad experience. Ordering groceries online. An entire bag was missing. It was incredibly difficult to contact anybody to get a refund. I went there for the convenience - but it wasn't worth the 2+ extra hours of my day it took to get everything refunded. Back to HyVee. - it's further away but much easier. And they fix things immediately if they get your order wrong
google avatar

Yelp
Great selection on the salad bar. Made us so happy to see so many labeled vegan options!! Produce was so beautiful and great quality. We are on the road heading back home to Texas and this was such a great stop. We stocked up on produce and options from the salad bar.
google avatar

Jes S.

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing place!! It is BEAUTIFUL, accessible, and wonderful! There's a bar, plenty of seating, and a wonderful ambiance. I will frequent this grocery store whenever possible. Plus, there's parking! Coffee bar, juice bar, salad bar, BAR BAR. There is also an Amazon locker outside.

Yelp
Lively market by plaza/umkc area. Great place to stop by for lunch, with a fresh salad bar, and a buffet style food warmer wherein you pack a plate or container and pay by the weight. Even though I had just finished having brunch 10 min earlier, everything looked so good! I'll have to come back and have lunch here sometime! Market is organized well. Very clean. Fun to grocery shop in! Fresh produce, meats, and seafood. Lots of healthy options and alternatives! I'm trying to go for a dairy free and sugar free diet, and was glad to find many alternatives and substitutes here. However, a little pricey, but worth it. I came specifically to buy my dad a birthday cake. They have a great selection of baked goods at this location. Everything looked soooo good! I chose the carrot cake, just to try something new. We usually grab the berry Chantilly cake (best cake at Whole Foods imo). The carrot cake was okay, I've had better. We asked for wording to be placed on the cake, and honestly have never waited so long for such a request. We waited about 15-20 min, whereas at other places a request such as this one would have been fulfilled in 3-5 min.
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
Meh, I like the old location on Metalf better. The flagship in Overland Park closed and this one opened. I don't begrudge KCMO their store, but it's not as good and coffee is more expensive in the bulk section which is my primary item. First off, parking is a bit of a pain. Second, that fish market reeks. Fish shouldn't smell like that and it hits you the second you enter the door which is a bit off putting. Third, I preferred the layout of the OP store better. It delivers on the same Whole Foodiness as all of these grocery stores but I have to compare it to the store it replaced.
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to check out the Fountain Room's Friday Night Seafood Menu. Lots of great shellfish and seafood at reasonable prices. Live music on the patio as well! A great way to enjoy the beautiful weather!
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
I have wanted to check this location out since they opened but the traffic and congestion in the area made me wait then I had forgotten about it. Today we were walking on the Trolley Trail and took advantage. There is nothing better than a one stop place for gifts, ready made meals, alcohol, flowers and groceries. I was in heaven. I had no plans to purchase yet still came out with a bag full. Outside of Trader Joe's this is one of the best grocery store flower sections out there. The wine selection is extensive and for every budget. Just an overall great selection of everything. Prices are still just too high for me to justify all of my shopping there but you can find some great sales especially if you use your Amazon Prime account. Getting in and out was very easy on a weekday around 11am. Absolutely a great addition to the neighborhood and quite handy for people that need a one stop place.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautiful store packed with all kinds of health conscious goodness. I visited on the grand opening which was crazy packed- I'm not sure there is ample parking for how busy this place might get. Fresh flowers and plants greet you at the store entrance. Due to the grand opening it was hard to mindfully shop without bumping into people in the aisles, but I have hope it won't always be that crazy. The salad bar blew my mind - everything from pickled onions and pickled beets to green garbanzo beans and pea shoots (a foodie's dream ). I was disappointed they didn't have the nomnom paleo magic mushroom powder, but they had an incredible kombucha selection which brightened my day. The employees who checked me out were friendly and pleasant. If you're an introvert or don't like crowds you might hang back for a few weeks until the hype dies down. Parking was a little traumatic.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty easy to navigate and very clean, comparable in size or a little smaller than other Whole Foods.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved my experience at Whole Foods, as much as I love eating healthy it was my first time there and I will continue to shop there because of their amazing products and great customer service. I was looking dir something to have for lunch. I saw they had Pokè bowls with salmon, octopus and shrimp but I kept exploring until I found the hot section and it was impressive. Grilled chicken, pizza, sandwiches. I decided on a salad because I am counting calories and I loves that it had the calorie intake on the salad bar.
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
First, I am in love with this location! I am so excited that there is a Whole Foods in the city near me. I try my best to only buy Organic foods, mainly for my daughter, so this location is great. I love the samples on weekend! This unfortunately adds to the crowds, but sometimes its worth it. I really wish they had made the aisles and overall store larger. It feels a bit cramped most times. Customer service is awesome. I have never had an issue that were not able to solve. If something is wrong, just take it back, talk to them, and it will be resolved. My daughter loves their baskets, both the car and the mini shopper, and the free items that they give to kids (water and bars). Kids section located in front of customer service. prices are high, as always, but the prime discount helps.

Yelp
Heck yes to having Whole Foods in Missouri! Been waiting for this place to open up. It's so roomy and it's so dope. Cool artwork near the fountain room/checkout. They have buffet style and pay at the cashier. I love the fresh food, healthy options, seafood/meat section as well. Having a garage parking is pretty cool especially during a hot, cold, or crazy Kansas City weather. Now that Amazon Prime and Whole Foods are now like partner, I love the deals just for Prime member. It really pays to save. 10% on yellow sale items and prime deals. I love their pastries, their fruit tarts are so good. I can't wait to go back to tried and see what else they have in store.

Yelp
What a cluster f*@k. First impressions are important and just getting into the parking lot made me question if it was even worth it. There were two near collisions and some guy gave me the finger because I was behind him and he was trying to pull out his spot. I had a car in front of me and behind me so I couldn't go anywhere, but that didn't seem to matter, he was backing out right away. I get inside and it's Whole Foods on steroids. They seem to be following this trend of making grocery stores a place to hang out and chill. We have several of them back home and frankly I don't get it. I want to get my groceries and go, not sit and have a glass of wine. That being said, the area needed a better grocery store option than Price Chopper and it has everything that you could possibly want including a pretty extensive hot food section which was packed the day I went. I'm sure people who like Whole Foods and like the idea of shopping at Whole Foods will make this place a successful, but I wasn't overly impressed.
google avatar

Jocelyn R.

Yelp
Expensive, obviously, but SO MUCH more pleasant a shopping experience than your (read: my) typical run to Hy Vee or Price Chopper that I felt the need to leave a rating. Gorgeous seafood area, massive array of produce, super-helpful vegan labels where applicable, and discounts for Amazon Prime - all make me very happy!

Yelp
Love this Whole Foods. It does get busy on the weekend. The food bar is really good and you can take your food upstairs to a nice relaxing place to eat. Clean, bright, and spacious. My one criticism is the bar food is not very healthy and a little disappointing. They have daily specials but they are usually fried food it seems.

Yelp
This building is amazing. All of the glass. It also helps that it is in a good location of KC with a little more upscale buildings. As for the inside, it is large. More selection and wider aisles. Came in for some fresh fruit and beverages for breakfast. The produce is always great. What did I learn today? They have a local dairy's chocolate milk in a glass jar. The cost? Just $2.99. In the Bay Area that same item costs $5.

Yelp
After being open for a few weeks it shouldn't be a mess, right? Nope. When they announced the Metcalf store would close when this location opened I thought surely they could support two locations 50+ blocks apart. Based on my visit to the new location, both stores could be supported. It was packed with both customers and employees trying to stock empty shelves. It was nearly impossible to navigate the store. Many aisles were blocked with people trying to find things or carts used for restocking. Wider aisles would be helpful. The produce I bought was not great quality. Many of my grapes were mushy, all of the romaine was already browning. I'm ok paying more, but I expect good quality. I wanted a roasted chicken, but they were out. Most surprisingly, not once was I offered assistance finding things nor did I hear employees offer to help others although many people were standing around obviously trying to find things. Not one employee acknowledged me until I got to the register. Plenty of employees were throughout the store stocking shelves, but none helping customers. I like the large options of organic food, but will visit other stores for better quality, service, and ability to get around the store.

Yelp
I can't even with this store! I am SO glad to finally see a Whole Foods Market cross over to the Missouri side of KC. Moving here from Denver, I was used to living within walking distance from a WFM at almost every apartment I lived in. Seriously. There are 15 of them in the Denver Metro area!! So to say that I am relieved is an understatement, because now I only live about 15 minutes away. First off, this store is beautiful. It's an updated version of the ones I'm used to and I love how contemporary and modern the design is. The flower section caught my eye immediately when I walked in the door and the enormous pastry case was simply stunning. My first visit was on Memorial Day, which was sort of a mistake just because they were ridiculously busy. Parking did take a little bit, but would it really be a Whole Foods if it's not getting real in the parking lot??? I will say though that I thought this design was better than others. (Ahem, Cherry Creek.) It was a bit overwhelming and I didn't really stop to do too much browsing. I ended up trying some of their vegan pizza from the pizza bar and a fresh pomegranate-grapefruit juice, which was tasty and tart. The pizza wasn't really for me mostly just because it had a vegan cheese on it. I'm really picky about the texture and taste of vegan cheese so I should've known. The roasted tomatoes on it, however, were delicious. I think I personally would rather opt for a cheese-less vegan pizza option. But I know they rotate flavors so it's worth another shot! This morning I stopped back in quite early and the parking lot was nice and empty, as was the store, and I took a little more time to browse through the aisles. I'm not gonna lie, I'm normally not an early morning person, so I was surprised to see that their hot food bar had breakfast! And even more to my surprise, they offered a vegan breakfast burrito. I decided to try this out and I'm so glad I did. It was made with black beans, hash browns, and tofu "eggs." It had a nice peppery flavor and I liked that the tofu wasn't in big chunks. Overall, my experience was great and I will definitely be back frequently. It's probably not great for my wallet but, I'm excited to enjoy this store!

Yelp
Whole Foods is the best. Plain and simple. Their Cherry pie is the best that you can get at a grocery store. That may not seem like a big deal, but My boyfriend is a Cherry Pie Addict. The variety of items here, and the fact that I can use my Amazon account to get discounts? I mean how could I not love this place.

Yelp
I am so glad I get to enjoy this Whole Foods during my last year in KC as a UMKC graduate student! I came here three times since it opened for lunch. I really like their salad bar. It has a lot of variety and always looks beautifully fresh. Each time I was there an attendant was continuously restocking the salad bar options. One of the times I got a meal deal with salmon. The salmon tasted fresh, although it was a bit dry. In general, Whole Foods is too expensive for me to actually grocery shop there, but I do love their lunch options. However, I'm sure I will occasionally stop by at this beautiful brand new location to grab a few items and/or a quick dinner.

Yelp
I totally cannot believe the whole foods is in Kansas City I've always had to drive at least a mile or two to get to the one in Overland Park this makes me so happy to know that in my community Whole Foods has invested a brick-and-mortar store for everyone to enjoy I've been coming to whole foods for the past 15 years and this is an amazing day I will continue to come back forever!

Yelp
Finally made it over the weekend to the new Wholefoods on 51st. It was Saturday afternoon and quite crowded. The parking lot is a bit tight but not near as bad as I thought it might be as I would drive by many days. As you enter, you enter the produce section and I have to say I was a bit disappointed, its smaller than I had hoped for but it was still quite adequate. The quality was also a bit disappointing as things didnt seem as fresh as what I would of liked. They did have a nice selection of everything and its displayed nicely. The building is beautiful, well lit, open and spacious. Space is a big deal in town and the store is more open than I expected which is nice. As I wondered up and down the aisles, I was pleased with the choices, a nice meat shop, and bars, bars and more bars. An olive bar, cevichi bar, coffee bar, juice bar, salad bar, and food bar. What a great addition to campus to have all the prepared food choices. We ended up getting some mixed veggies and pulled pork from the food bar to take home and it was actually quite reasonable. If you are amazon prime you get 10percent off some marked items throughout the store, so thats nice. You just link your prime account. There is also a nice sitting area to eat, drink coffee and even work on a computer as you have lunch if needed. I think this whole foods is a wonderful addition so close to UMKC for the students and to us that live downtown.
