Why Do Canadians Buy Milk in Bags? | Eater

"A national grocery retailer that stocked mini-sip and locally packaged pouch milk products during regional pilot programs and served as one of the retail outlets for pouched-milk trials alongside campus and local grocery distribution." - Brenna Houck

Whole Foods Is Cutting Medical Benefits for 1,900 Part-Time Employees | Eater

"An Amazon-owned supermarket chain announced that, beginning in January, employees will need to work at least 30 hours per week to qualify for medical benefits, up from the current 20-hour threshold — a change expected to strip coverage from roughly 1,900 part-time workers (just under 2% of its ~95,000-person workforce). The company framed the shift as a move to better meet business needs and create more equitable, efficient scheduling, and said affected employees will be offered resources to find alternative health coverage or to pursue full-time, health-eligible positions; all team members will continue to receive a 20% in-store discount. The decision comes after the chain’s 2017 acquisition by Amazon and follows other cuts and staffing changes cited by employees — including elimination of stock options for lower-level staff and marketing layoffs — that critics say have eroded product quality and worker conditions. That backdrop, plus prior unionization efforts and a contentious labor climate across the grocery industry, has heightened concerns that the benefit rollback will intensify organizing and strike activity." - Jenny G. Google
Wonderful store beautifully maintained. Huge selection of organic vegetables and fresh food included prepared foods. Self checkout is easy to use. Staff is friendly. Prices are competitive. Amazon online ordering is a great timesaver. So pleasant and a great place to buy food that has been carefully curated to avoid questionable ingredients (love the slogan ‘it’s what not in the bag!’ Like shopping in Europe where they don’t allow toxic chemicals in food! Love the Whole Foods mission!

Google
It's one of my favorite grocery stores. You can find pretty much everything here. It's well organized and clean ( you can find avocados from under ripe to ripe , well organized to easily shop), and a variety of healthy snacks too. And really tasty pastries, they sell different kinds of mineral waters that we can't find somewhere else. Good quality products!

Madeleine Lee Moore

Google
It's a great location. It is setup very differently from my hometown Whole Foods, which I think should be corrected personally, but it was still shoppable. They restock on Sundays, so Monday is your best bet for getting all the items you love most.

Hot Wired

Google
Whole foods it's a nice well organized store. As soon as you walk in the door it smells wonderful and you're greeted by variety of multiple kinds of produce and flowers. The store is very clean and employees are eager to help you with your shopping needs. They have a variety of many different types of items, as well as many healthy options not often found in other places. Prices here are higher than most stores, but the shopping experience and variety help you to forget you be paying a bit more. You can grind your own coffee, grind your own peanuts to make fresh peanut butter, enjoy lunch or brunch here with a variety of food choices offer on a self-serve buffet. The store is definitely about presentation and making sure you have a wonderful shopping experience.

Google
Expensive 🤑 but their selection is so pretty! Made me wanna eat stuff I’m usually too picky to eat lol. The hot lunch buffet looked horrid though today… I have gotten a hot lunch before from the buffet and it was much better but it was like $24 😮‍💨 I like that there’s Amazon lockers and return kiosk at this location. I like that there’s fresh herbs 🪴 you can buy.

David Engle

Google
It is so easy to return Amazon orders here! I was disappointed when Whole Foods started being the main return spot because it's not a location that is close to me. But I'm a fan now. There are two ways to return, and both are by the entrance. The first is to take your items to guest services... The whole process takes under a minute. If there's a line, then you can go to the nearby self-service kiosk. Scan the QR code, the bags and labels are provided, drop it in the bin, and you're done. Well worth the few extra minutes drive to quickly return and get your money refunded right away.

Google
I depend on Whole Foods when I travel so I avoid fast (junk) food. Overall the store looks clean and organized as I would always expect at Whole Foods, but the hot food bar is always a mess (at least at 7PM. Soup containers are mostly empty and heavily crusted. You can always assume they will have chicken straps an turkey meatloaf (today the loaf looked decently fresh, but not common. ) I was there on Tuesday at 6:45PM and the hot bar was completely shut down, so you never know what to expect. Front-end cashiers are normally really preoccupied with their mobile devices.

Mason Mason

Google
It's my favorite grocery store. Yes, it is expensive, but the quality of the food, the helpful and polite employees, all synergistically make this extra money worth spending. The store is always clean. Staff is always helpful and polite. I can also find certain items that I have yet to find at any other store. I love the prepared/heat then eat meals the store makes. I will admit I have been straight strung out for months at a time on various, in store made desserts and my family has shepherd me through intense Tres Leche Cake, Bannana Pudding soaked confectionery induced withdrawal, BUT THOSE DELICIOUS ADDICTIONS WERE NOBODIES FAULT BUT MINE, and I can not blame the pushers...I mean..cooks whom practice the dark culinary confectionery arts. Oh!! I have fun...But seriously! this place is alright

Yelp
I've gotten fishy or rancid croissants from here before, (I know, shame on me.) Silly me, I bought a bunch of croissants and chocolate croissants on 2/3 and had to throw them all away because they smelled and tasted rancid. I'm not sure how badly you'd have to handle butter to make it go rancid, but I doubt they make anything from scratch, so I'm guessing they just never clean their ovens. *barf sounds*

Yelp
What a shopping experience! The presentation of the food is always appealing. The fruit is fresh, not old or moldy or smelling. The lighting presents an atmospheric place that is pleasing to the eye and it showcases the food. As often as we shop there, we have not encountered any uncleanliness. The people are friendly and polite and very helpful.
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
The sushi is a joke. All rice and no fish. Just straight up deception and greed. Seriously, you're tricking people who are buying food.
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Came here before 7pm... All pepperoni pizza slides are gone... Ask to see if they still make anymore.. Nope. Guess need to come early for food...
google avatar

Carolyn R.

Yelp
Worst WFM ever. Empty bins of food don't feed people. Little care from employees after multiple interactions. We have gone many times to this location and I have wanted it to be a better experience but, it's constantly bad! How sad since many WFM have amazing customer service and stores are kept very well. I'm writing this to hopefully give some feedback to improve as a store. Little Rock deserves better WFM.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
The bulk bins are not to be trusted not to have old, moldy items, especially now they were closed for months.... I guess they didn't replace them with fresh stuff. The produce is surprisingly often not fresh, including lettuce, celery, red peppers, ginger, loose mushrooms... & even when it happens to be, it's so expensive. And I think the workers need vacations.
google avatar

Tricia B.

Yelp
I have had mixed experiences here especially during the height of COVID however I had a great experience yesterday. It was the busiest I've seen the store after 3 days of ice with everyone hibernating at home. The produce was fresher and better stocked than I'd seen it. The cheese selection was outstanding. I had a very informative and fun conversation with Chuck over blues. I'm defintitely coming back when he's able to cut in to the Happy Huntsman Blue for some smoky blue cheese goodness. The $5 and under section was a great assortment of interesting cheeses. I went home and made an amazing varied cheese plate right away. The only product I noticed they were really low on was gnocchi as they only had 1 regular one left. I went to Trader Joe's (which I love) this same day and they were out of everything from eggs to basil. Great customer service and experience on this most recent visit. Keep it up!
google avatar

Yelp
This WF location is pretty cute! I love the juice bar, and I had my first experience with a Whole Foods pizza bar at this location! Whole Foods-Little Rock measures up with all others in cleanliness, friendliness, and customer service. The selection is also great. My only drawback is that they run out of their juices (pressed and bottled in-store daily) very quickly. I've visited twice after work (around 4:30ish) and the "cupboard (or grocer's fridge) was bare!" Boo. Hiss. I'm definitely a WF fan, and I'm pleased with this location overall!
google avatar

Bryan P.

Yelp
Hands down, worst whole foods i have been to. I have been to dozens of these markets all over America, this one is easily the worst. Selection is lacking, cleanliness was lacking. Zero customer service. Felt like an overpriced fancy wal mart.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Love this store! They have a juice bar, coffee bar, pizza bar, Olive bar etc. Great selection of wine and beer. Whole Foods is pricier compared the other grocery stores but better quality items. Usually organic or healthier but always fresh! And many unique items that other stores don't offer. It's like the equivalent to Disney for me lol!

Nikki H.

Yelp
first time here &' the lids for the drinks have no holes. not the workers fault of course, i just think for the fancy schmancy prices they could afford proper lids for their cups. oh &' they filled it to the brim. oh &' the juice stains. found that out when i had to open my lid w no whole for the straw. unimpressed for my first visit

Yelp
I'm so happy that the new Whole Foods opened! It looks like a real Whole Foods! The folks at Guest Service are wonderful. Misty is one of my favorites as she is really helpful and so nice. Although I do miss her pink apron! (Anyway that could come back? That's her trademark!) Danny & Josh are amazing - so nice, helpful, and so personable. Thanks for all your help! They always welcome us when we shop & make my little man feel special :) There's also personal shopping which is amazing. I've used it in California and they offer it here too! The lady who manages it is very nice so I can't wait to get started! I'm just happy there's a market that sells fresh organic produce and supports the locals in selling their fresh products. All the pork they sell do not have nitrates either. Everything here is worth every penny. Smoothies - delicious! Nothing artificial about it. Just fruit, juice or coconut water. You definitely can use your entire paycheck here, but you can save by purchasing Whole Foods brand 365 (just as great), clipping the whole deal coupons, or going Friday's for their specials. Parking lot gets full but not during the mornings or during the weekdays when people are at work :) (except around lunchtime)

Yelp
I really like Whole Foods. This location in particular, it smells amazing when you walk through the door, the produce (and cheese! Oh the cheese!) sections are spectacular, the beer section is solid - particularly good for a grocery store. They also have regular classes on things like home brewing, cheese making, and sushi rolling - which I only recently learned. But, probably my favorite thing about it is their business practices. They treat their employees well, they buy local as much as possible, and support local businesses (Old Mill bread, anyone?) and they emphasize fair-trade products and products that are actually in-season. That can make it frustrating if you want tomatoes in December, but it's better for everyone in the long run. Gotta go back to try that taproom!
google avatar

J N.

Yelp
I enjoy shopping this store. Its clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. Everything is neatly organized and well stocked. Produce is abundant and FRESH! It's a bit pricey for a store like this. It's not as high end as some but conventional and convenient. The coffee bar is a bit pricey as well vs. premium coffees they sell and serve it's a bit over the top. Also not SO much as coffee goes comparing to other coffee bars in the area... I'd rather just make a pot at my house. I will definately return to this location when in the area and pick up an item or two.
google avatar

Yelp
Update: the customer service has been much better. I feel that the employees are always working with broken tools and not enough ( no heavy cream, no calibration on the machine, broken scale, etc. ) If they had full support, they would probably begin to excel!!! Old review: Sooooo Bitter. Both the espresso shots and the service. Amazon has really drug this organization into the dirt. I hope they realize that Customer service at the coffee bar is about as bad as it gets and that their machine is pulling sewer for shots.

Yelp
Made a quick pit stop at Whole Foods in Little Rock because every city I hit up I have to check out the local Whole Foods, they always have local products and locally sourced meat, ice cream, candles, etc and it's cool to see their brand of products you can't find in Texas. I went late so the deli was shut down but I still got a bunch of good grabs for the airplane ride, this is def a mid sized Whole Foods that has a bar, deli, and Wine bar that is pretty awesome.. will be coming here soon for some dinner time fun. Overall great Whole Foods and thank you Little Rock for offering a great choice for people with allergies can go to and find great products and organic produce.
google avatar

Janina M.

Yelp
Super sad that this is the only location in Little Rock, but it's a good spot. Shares a parking lot with Best Buy next door and offers one space for EV and charging! Nut have a chargepoint account, but it's free. This location is always tidy and the employees are great. Typical of WF, they do care about their people. Smaller selection than most I've been top, smaller sections as well, but they still offer great food and options. It's great they have a little hot food cart near the meat dept with BBQ. They have pizza, sandwich bar, sushi, a beer area where you can buy a growler and bring beer home, but NO BURITTO BAR! Probably the saddest thing. When you order sandwiches, there are no slips to fill out and we haven't ordered from there yet so unsure if you can customize but I bet you probably can. Can never go wrong with the bakery either. Sad to see prices continuing to go up though. Cookies from the cookie cart are now 11.99 per lb. Damn you WH! Their bottled beer selection in the liquor department offers a lot of local stuff. Would be cool to see more stuff from other states, but understand they're low on space. They don't really change up their samples near the check out as it's been chocolate every single time we've visited since last fall.
google avatar

Dale R.

Yelp
Great place to get specialty food items. Always a friendly staff willing to help. The seafood department is great! Always have mussels, clams, , octopus and wonderful selection of fish.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Nice store. Asked for slice of pizza to be warmed up in pizza oven. Was told to use microwave. I asked why not oven and was told they
google avatar

Francesca M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place ! I am ok with spending extra money when the quality is great like this. I Italian and find a lot of Italian products here! I wish I could get employed with them My whole paycheck would go back right to them

Yelp
My husband And I frequent Whole Foods quite often since our family of 5 is slowly incorporating more plants in to our diet. The experience is usually wonderful if we have no reason to visit the fresh bread/pizza section. There is an employee there that both my husband and I have received extremely poor customer service from on two separate occasions while visiting the store separately as well. She (the employee) simply acted like we were bothering her when we asked her a question and required her assistance in performing what is, I'm sure, in her job description. When I encountered the employee she was already helping a couple of elderly men however, when I stepped up to be helped she went on to doing something else and while she was facing me, she did not look up or acknowledge my presence in a polite, customer friendly manner. I have previously worked many customer service jobs and understand how stressful the job can be but when you have a bad day on the regular it may be time to make a career change. I left feeling bad for her. She is clearly miserable but I do not want anyone else encountering her nasty attitude either.
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
This location is ok. I have been to better ones. The staff is ok. Some are more than willing to show you that they are put out that you ask them for help. A lot of the new, hot items are out of stock. They did start carrying Holy Kombucha! Some of the prices are high compared to other places. It is always clean. The bakery has awesome products.

Anisah H.

Yelp
After this visit, I can see a few improvements. They carry new things but They lack in the vegan area. I have been in locations just as small or smaller with more options. It was nice to see that they HAD a newly released vegan sausage but it was out of stock. Customer service is important to me. The staff here is a mixture of nice and brusque. They had a couple of the fruit options I needed.
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
Yep they are a little pRicey but great quality and I had one of the stock guys (Antoine, I think) stop his job and walk across the store to show me the one hard to find spice item I was looking for.....so yes I will pay more for this kind of service.
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
The first time I ever went to a Whole Foods was in NYC Manhattan. The responsive and courteous representatives were a shock to this New Yorker who is accustomed to that NY charm. So coming to Whole Foods in LR, I've come to expect the courtesy which is present and some. It's a smaller regional store than I'm used to but it carries much of the items I've come to expect from Whole Foods. Also, don't skip the in shop bar as there is a daily happy hour special that rotates and the variety is nice.
google avatar

Aliya Y.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have a Whole Foods close by! The store is BEAUTIFUL and seriously every staff member is so sincerely helpful. While making this my every week grocery store is cost prohibitive, I do come here regularly for things I make a point to buy organic or sustainably sourced - WF tends to be the most committed and transparent on those fronts. The parking lot, though much bigger than the old location, gets full at peak times so I avoid going on weekends or around lunch - otherwise I spend the whole time at the store just trying to maneuver around everyone else's cart or getting out of the way of someone else's!
google avatar

Shaira C.

Yelp
Love whole foods for the variety of organic and natural foods. It can get a bit pricey grocery shopping here which is expected but we also like going for their already prepared foods at their foodbars. Their soups are really delicious and earthy. I loved getting sushi from their bar and lately my favorite has been their salmon sushi burritos! Super filling and it's like one giant sushi roll you can eat with your hands! Dont forget their pressed green juices and beet juices or their teas for a nice pick me up! All so refreshing!
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Worst Whole Foods I've ever been to. The salad bar was mostly empty, the hot foods looked burnt up, the prepared cold foods were crusty on top. The jars of croutons, toppings, etc were mostly all empty. This wasn't right at closing, this was at 5:30 pm.
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
I used to be a WF superfan! I loved packing up the kiddos and going on Saturday mornings to shop and sticking around for the show and cookout outdoors. I thought the food was always fresh, people were friendly, and the bakery was to die for! I will never go back! The new location has a completely comercial crazy atmosphere. There is no where to park and once inside, one is met with unfriedly people who act like helping customers is a hastle. It has lost its loving feel. Upon opening the new location, the company used a lot of employees from the Rodney Parham store to help "set up shop". They very quickly laid them off for various ridiculous reasons. This left a bad taste in my mouth! My friend that worked for WF was laid off after 13 years with the company and perfect attendance and excellent work. How can a company that is all about the good things in life treat people so poorly?Never will I go into a whole foods again. I shop at Natural Grocers now. It has the exact same items with less crowds and parking issues. Some prices are better too. The people are friendly and not pretentious like WF has become.
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
Love this place! I could spend endless hours in here. They have a great selection of produce, vitamins, you name it! It's a bit pricy. I always leave thinking damn I spent that much, and that's all I got ! And then move on and still find myself coming back. Love me some whole foods! I will note that vitamins I take are cheaper at The Vitamin Shoppe. Most I've looked into are. Just something to keep in mind.
google avatar

Charles G.

Yelp
A frequent stop on my many trips through Little Rock, this Whole Foods has all the usual offerings on hand at any of the chain's other locations. With a great coffee bar, fresh produce and a solid prepared food section, it's the last vestige of civilization one encounters before venturing into the hinterlands north or south of Arkansas's capital city. Like most WF locations, its only downside is in the price of certain goods (does anyone really buy $20 jars of organic almond butter?), but overall, the level of healthy eating options available here can't be topped.
google avatar

Hershey K.

Yelp
Every time I travel with our kiddo, we bring home a couple of six-packs of a local brew for my husband. We always visit a Whole Foods Market since they always carry a large variety from the local breweries. We were in search of a Springdale, AR beer called Core which they had in the cans but the husband prefers bottles. Fortunately, I asked one of the staff members if he knew if the store carried them in bottles and he knew all about the brewery and the beer we were in search for. Thank you, Whole Foods on Bowman for hiring knowledgable staff. Makes the shopping experience pleasant!
google avatar

P J.

Yelp
I don't like giving Whole Foods one star BUT in this case they deserve it. I went in to buy fresh fish and saw a prepared salmon patty that I thought I would try. I needed a few more so some were gotten out of the cooler. I noticed the clerk opened the container and smelled of the patty. I asked if they were made fresh that day and he said no. I said when were they made, and he answered just a day or two. BUT no specific date, in other words there is no telling how old they were as they evidently were not marked! While I was waiting a person at the next counter was getting chicken or something and I also saw the clerk get the item out and smell it. I have shopped at Whole Foods in another state and never once saw a clerk have to smell the fish or meat to see if its fresh. I went there to get the best and freshest, high quality meat. NOT to have someone do a smell test to check for freshness. UNACCEPTABLE, I will not waste my time and extra money buying food there unless they can improve there meat and fish freshness!
google avatar

Garrett Addison B.

Yelp
I love out of town and don't shop for groceries here. I do use the hot bar/ready to eat foods several times each week. I especially like the sushi for price, convenience and quality. The staff is incredibly nice, store is always clean, and offerings well stocked.

Sandy K.

Yelp
Yes they have a good selection of produce, but this store is ridiculously overpriced. On several occasions I have had things ring up at the register not at the sale price. When I questioned it and then went to check it, I found the sign was in front of the wrong item. Very misleading in my opinion. And it has happened more than a couple of times. I have seen an Organic sign in front of an item, and upon closer observation found the items are not organic. You have to stay on your toes in all Wholefoods.
google avatar

Mailoha A.

Yelp
I have a love hate relationship with Whole Foods because everything is SO overpriced. This is NOT the place you want to go to if you are like me and get carried away easily - walk in needing only 2 things and walk out with 10 bags full of stuff that was never on your list. This location was very nice. It looked like maybe it was new. Friendly staff. Their hot food options weren't what I expected. This is Whole Foods, where are the healthy hot food options? All I remember seeing was super cheesey mac and cheese and BBQ.

Michael H.

Yelp
Best grocery store around! Everything is fresh. I hope they open their smoothie bar again, it's one of the best parts of the store! By far the best smoothies I've found anywhere around town.

M. B.

Yelp
The worst prepared pizza I have ever had. The pizza that is in the refrigerator section by the salad bar, that is what you should avoid. Made by Whole Foods. We bought two and baked at home. Couldn't decide which was worse. The supposedly fresh mushrooms we bought to add....terrible as well. Stop at your neighborhood gas station....tastes much better. The store looked dirty as well.

Nadrina N.

Yelp
I was here veteran's day and appreciated the kind support all the staff for our military bc i happened to stop by the grocery store in uniform. Havent seen a lemon, cayenne, ginger shot in another whole foods before, definitely enjoyed it.

El B.

Yelp
Stopped by WF today to pick up some it ms for a BBQ. Loved the fresh meats counter. The bakery items were few, and I didn't find the side-dish items I had stopped by to purchase, but everything lease was in order. The store was clean despite being very busy. I especially enjoyed seeing a very diverse group of people getting along. We need more of that. If I wasn't here on a work trip. I would have bought the fish on ice. Looked perfectly maintained.
google avatar

Paris G.

Yelp
We have shopped at Whole Foods for several months while in the Little Rock area. This is a larger store. They have a very clean store. There is a large selection of Organic, Natural, and Conventional foods and food products. The store also has a deli and pizza bar. There is a small sushi bar that the products are made daily. There is also a butcher on duty for fresh sea food and meats. There is a liquor cooler, wine selection and a cheese and olive bar. They also have a full service market that has household cleaners as well as supplements. They are on the pricier side so expect to pay a little more for the items in this store. Management and staff have always been very helpful in many ways.

Celeste C.

Yelp
Whole Foods is such a ripoff. Everything costs three times as much as other places. Sure the produce is nice and fresh, but we have other alternatives here in Little Rock (Trader Joe's soon.) The silly Amazon Prime "deals" are never anything I need, and it's a hassle to drag out your phone and have to pull up the app. The store attempts to look cool and trendy but honestly the whole Amazon connection has pulled it down several notches. OK, the pizza is pretty good, and some of the bread products are fine. But who needs it.
google avatar

Janie N.

Yelp
Went to my "go to " salad place on Saturday and had to stand in too long line for a quick "fetch your own" salad. They did not have all the registers open on a Saturday! Really? Vey disappointing! I had planned to do my shopping for the week here after lunch yet don't plan to waste my time in line any further.
google avatar

Larry L.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick lunch. We went to the food bar for gumbo and loaded potato soup. Both were excellent. We are in the little cafe and also had some cornbread. I really liked the sweet cornbread.

Jordan D.

Yelp
Very busy, rude staff at customer service desk, no express line. Not a good place to pick up lunch on your break.
google avatar

Etasha B.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this Whole Foods, I have been to Whole Foods all over and this one is the worst one I've ever been to! I gave them several chances and even talked to managers but I continued to have terrible experiences, from getting fruit home and some of them are rotten, tried to get some ginger a few days ago and a lot of them had mold on them, asking for help here is a sin! Every time I asked a question the employees acted like I was bothering them! The smoothie bar made my order wrong a few times and had attitudes when I addressed it (which is totally ok, I was spending a small fortune daily and when I told my husband about this he brought me a vitamix so I will be making my own smoothies) some people in the meat department seem like they are in a rush to get back to doing other stuff and get attitudes when you ask them questions, sheesh this place is horrible! I won't spend another penny at this location! I can't wait until Trader Joe's comes to Little Rock, until then I will go to the Fresh Market)
google avatar

Naomie L.

Yelp
Was very disappointed after buying 12 single serve glass bottles of a drink that there was not more thought out into how those could be put in a recyclable carrying bag. In other Whole Foods around the country, a small six slot recyclable bag is offered for wine products and such...too bad this option was discontinued five or six years ago according to a cashier...I really thought that comment was interesting since I was told by another store that the recyclable six slot wine bags had recently come out. I have been to at least 5 different Whole Foods in 5 different states in the past month...and this was a definitely a first in lack of customer service.
google avatar

Maggie K.

Yelp
A little less stocked than what I'm used to; lacking my fave, donuts! That's what I always would go buy and really the biggest reason to visit other whole foods. They also lack a good choice of dried fruits which was disappointing. Great dry bulk goods section and great events working with other local companies.

R V.

Yelp
I was in the week before last, shopping there daily for healthy food and green juice for my terminal father. The man behind the sushi counter started saying things to his coworker about my weight that are too foul to repeat on here (he thought I couldn't hear him from behind the counter). I debated about confronting him and finally I came back to him and said if he was going to make fun of people he should be more subtle about it, I waited for him to apologize or acknowledge what I said but he just stood there starring at me like he was in shock. I walked off getting angrier by the minute and decided to complain to the manager on duty. She simply said "I'm sorry about that, humans suck". That was it... I then proceeded to call corporate who opened a case. I was told the region would be contacting me but it was the store team leader instead. He wanted me to come in to the store and told me they would do better next time. I asked him again via email if the employee had admitted to what he did and what actions would be taken. The manager told me I could come in and the employee would apologize to me face to face. He kept insisting I come in. When I told him I was in a fragile place because of my dad and because of what had happened to me and that I didn't want to see the guy who verbally shamed me face to face, he reiterated in email that I could come see him next time I'm in and the green juice would be on him. He was completely dismissive about what had happened to me and kept saying he wanted to put a face with the name. I'm disgusted at the way Whole Foods has treated me, including their customer service rep. I am pursuing further action...
