LA Restaurant Yellow Fever Ignites National Conversation About Appropriation | Eater LA

"A Los Angeles–area fast-casual bowl concept that has been serving bowls around greater Los Angeles since 2014 opened a new location inside a Whole Foods 365 in Long Beach last week as a partnership between co-founder and chef Kelly Kim and her husband Michael. A tweet from the grocery chain drew national attention and sparked widespread backlash over the restaurant’s name, which many critics called disrespectful because of its racist connotations — including the fetishization of Asian women and the historical association with an infectious tropical disease — prompting coordinated online criticism and debate about the appropriateness of the name. Critics also took issue with linking a scientific disease term to a restaurant and with the idea that the owner’s Korean-American background automatically legitimizes reappropriating the word; the owner has defended the choice as an attempt to reframe the term, and some commentators have voiced support. Major outlets sought comment from Whole Foods but had not received a response at the time of reporting." - Mona Holmes

I went on a Monday. Smaller boutique location. The rows are pretty well stock. Bathroom was clean. Salad bar and hot food section was lacking. Only a couple fresh dishes were out and the vegan lentil soup I always get was not there. There was one empty soup compartment so maybe it was sold out. I purchased the lemon dill carrots and they were delicious. I saw an empty bar section in the back out of use. Check out was smooth. Overall pleasant experience.

Google
If one were to only take into account what they offer on the shelves, they would honestly get a 5-star rating. The reason they are receiving a 2-star rating is due to the way I was treated by certain Whole Foods employees at the Lakewood location. Their demeanor, their lack of service, and their professionalism was so bad. Unfortunately, every time I go the sandwich counter it is either closed or they never have enough ingredients on hand to make a simple sandwich or wrap. In regard to the hot food station, I would not recommend it if you consider food safety, your health, and wellbeing a top priority. UPDATE: 11/21/2025 at 12:30pm So after some time, my fiancée and I decided to give the sandwiches another try. First thing we noticed is the menu has been completely revamped, no more TTLA. After some time we decided on the Purple Falafel. Unfortunately, this option did not go well. For starters, the falafel was flavorless and extremely dry. I added Tapatio just to give it some type of kick / flavor. Secondly, we added avocado. It was hard and brown. Third of all, it’s supposed to come with hummus and cucumber and it contained neither one. Lastly, the 20% price increase did not help the situation either (sandwiches used to be $9.99. The PF is $11.99 + $2 for the avocado = $13.99). As for the person who made the wrap, she was super cool and was busting her butt getting orders out, so kudos to her. She was really hustling!! I remember the TTLA was our go-to at Whole Foods and it always hit the spot but now it feels like it’s all going downhill. So from 2 stars we are moving it to 1. Heavy sigh.

A Nice, Fun K.

Google
The Whole Foods is the best one we have found. It’s very large with a large selection of cooked and fresh produce 🍏 and vegetable s🥕. The customer service is great and it’s very easy to check out. The indoor and outdoor seating is nice. It’s very easy to park and fill up your vehicle with bags of their food. The cooked food is delicious and healthy. We love exploring the aisles and fill our carts with lots of different food. See you there.

Google
It's a whole foods. What can I say, they're clean, well staffed and as always, expensive. Everyone is always friendly and helpful but the clientele leaves much to be desired lol. I pick up my packages at the amazon counter and on occasion pick up some milk or whatever and the people who shop there act like theyre better than everyone else. That holds no bearing on the market, i understand but the stark contrast between the employees friendlyness and warmth compared to the patrons is disorienting. Smile people, YOU'RE RICH! YOU CAN SHOP AT WHOLE FOODS. SMILE LOL

Google
Great customer service, all of the workers were very kind and helpful. A guy named Eddy who was working in the produce aisle is a great worker. I had a few questions about items I was wanting to purchase, and where things were. He gave good directions, he went out of his way to help me, and he was very knowledgable about the products. This store was also very clean in comparison to some of the other locations

Google
So I went to Whole Foods to drop off an Amazon return. Decided to have a look around this store. Am not a regular shopper at Whole Foods because health food stores are usually more pricey than I can afford on a regular basis . The employees were all very nice helpful and friendly. The store is large clean & well stocked has all kinds of interesting foods. I ended up buying some great cookies at the cookie bar & received a discount for having Amazon prime. Also some crackers & and awesome blueberry lemonade. I just got a few things so did not break the bank. It was a nice experience would recommend shopping here.

Stephanie L.

Google
Amazon employees are extremely unhelpful, rude and dismissive. I came in with an amazon return that they wouldn't accept, saying they didn't have a box that would fit my item. At a grocery store. They asked if I could go to home depot to buy a box for my item, even though I showed them the refund policy that we do not need to provide our own boxes. They have zero interest in helping customers, being friendly, or assisting with a refund they are supposed to handle. You are better off shopping small.

Google
Super convenient if flying through Long Beach. Seems overly focused on to go food and already prep’d meals compared to other Whole Foods. Clean, well stocked, friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor eating areas

Yelp
Fist time to this location with the excuse of making a return to Amazon lol.....after we decided to actually eat here. Lots of good variety including pizza and desserts. We used the self checkout since there was no lines. The place is very friendly and welcoming. Glad we came in... we ended up dinning in. There is some space inside and more outside. Our food was

Yelp
As much as I hate Amazon politics in general, I'm glad this Wholefoods is here: - It's close to my home and parking is easy. - Store and environs are clean and attractive. - Prices are good as long as I stick to 365 brands. Fortunately, there are lots of them for just about everything. All other brands are crazy pricey. - Frozen fruit, 365 brand, is outstanding. They must have cracked the code to freezing and shipping. Fruits are all at the height of their flavors and their shapes are well maintained. - Fresh produce is wonderful in terms of quality and variety. Prices could be better, but they're not ridiculous, and at least they don't use tons of plastic. - I can count on them to have their usual items in stock, including eggs during worst of times! - The staff is basically pleasant. - It provides local jobs. - The manager, Patrick, is especially kind. If Amazon is reading this, I wish Amazon had a way of offering feedback without having to go through rigmarole of filling stuff out online.

Yelp
This Whole Foods has a cool location and most of the employees are pretty helpful, but I had a disappointing experience that I feel needs to be shared. There's a male gay employee--glasses, black hair--who I believe works at the register or in bagging. I was there, and this employee had an unnecessary amount of attitude. He was tossing items so forcefully into the bags that one actually broke. If you're going to have that much attitude while helping customers, maybe a less customer-facing role--or a job in retail where you don't have to handle people's food--would be more fitting. Also, Nguyen Coffee is constantly out of stock. They only seem to carry two at a time, and they're always gone. It's frustrating when clearly it's a popular product and not being restocked nearly as often as less popular brands. Parking is another issue--cars zip through the lot like it's the freeway, which makes it stressful to navigate, especially with a child. That said, there are some really friendly and helpful employees here, and the store itself is clean and well-organized. I just hope they take some of this feedback into account.

Yelp
When you desire the best you must shop at the best. Whole Foods is definitely one of my top 5 Markets in California I started shopping here semi regularly now I'm an og with 30 years as a customer. I like this location it's near to where I shop regularly located on a huge lot with plenty of parking, shops and places to eat. The store is always clean and well stocked with staff at the ready to help you find what you need and they have soo much to offer. I shop immediately for all of my fav food items specialty meats like lamb pork chops ground beef, cakes and cookies ready made soups salads and foods for lunch and dinner wine sparkling drinks prebiotic drinks water juice specialty cheeses and more. Today's visit was to pickup a slice of Chantilly Cake I ended up choosing Chantilly Cupcakes they're moist and tender and paired with fresh fruit absolutely delicious. Chantilly Cupcakes 9/10 Hot Bar Clam Chowder I bought a small cup of chowder thick and rich with potatoes and tender clams it was the bomb I added oyster crackers to my bowl my only regret was not getting a bigger container. Clam Chowder 10/10 Lunch bar you mix and choose. Cod fish in a rich tomato based sauce roasted potatoes and rice pilaf this meal was delicious after I added a bit more seasoning at home, the fish potatoes and rice lacked seasoning but that was expected and it still had a nice clean flavor I felt amazing after eating this lunch. 7/10 Cold Salad Bar Side salad I picked a mix of romaine and spinach topped it with bacon and shredded cheese it was very good. 7/10 Mini cookies I bought a mixture of cookies kitchen sink cookies, toffee and chocolate chip each one is delicious and I buy them all the time. 8/10 Today's haul was Texas toast, one pork chop, Terra veggie chips, two mini jams orange marmalade and raspberry, clam chowder and oyster crackers, slice of cornbread, organic corn chips Pomelo and 2 organic Meyer lemons, a container of Kalamata olives pickled garlic fava beans okra roasted veggies and more, peri peri hot sauce, Annie's cheese crackers and a HalfDay prebiotic peach tea. At this store the food is always bomb the ambiance is chill the store clean and well stocked more importantly you'll find lots of savings wth so many food items on sale if you take your time and look around. FYI I forgot to take pics so I screen shot pics from my video and included the cropped pics for you to see. Tips Be sure to supervise how they pack your groceries I've seen a lot at this location and most of the cashiers packing skills are awful - during this checkout the young lady packed heavy items on top of my cupcakes crushing them a bit ( see my pics ) I just shook my head pulled to the side and repacked my items properly inside the store. SMH Thanks for reading my review. Just me Shawn C.

Yelp
Whole Foods pizza is definitely competing with any pizza spot there is! The cheese is perfectly melted with a satisfying cheese pull that feels straight out of a commercial. The slices are huge--generous enough to fill you up and then some. The combination of mushrooms and caramelized onions is super flavorful, with just the right balance. Honestly, it's so good, it could put some pizza spots to shame!

Yelp
I was here earlier today and forgot to check in. The aisles are so wide and well maintained. I was looking for sponges but couldn't find them. No one was available to help so I bought some grapes instead. Great selection and not too overpriced. Solid B experience!!

Yelp
My stepmom recommends picking up a large fruit tart from Whole Foods which has cream, shell, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, kiwis, peaches, raspberries, is simultaneously flavourful and light yet costs here much less than your other competitive French (American) bakeries. Here are leftovers from a birthday gathering last night of which I got the tasty windfall, a good way to start the Advent season. Service and ambiance at their place: warm feelings with winter white colors. The fruit tart brightens things up.

Yelp
Love this store and how they show all the pumpkin spice items for the fall! Everything is neatly organized and easy to find! It's always clean and fresh and my favorite place for a day time stroll! Employees are nice and helpful when needing help.

Yelp
Hello everyone! I came here on July 07th, 2025 to purchase a Berry Chantilly Cake for my friends birthday on July 08th. Thankfully, they were fully stocked on the small and medium size cakes. So, I grabbed the medium size cake. On the same trip I decided to buy their small soups which cost $4.99 its expensive for it size. The size looks like extra small cup not a small. Pricing is expensive but the soups were worth it. Soups at Amazon Fresh is more liquidy and watery. But their prices are fair. However, I give Whole Foods Clam Chowder 10/10 the quality is much better and it was also creamier. So, the extra spending was worth it. I was off on July 12th, so I came back to try their Hot Bar since their soups hit the spot for me. I got Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, and Green beans as the vegetables. When, I got home the sauce was weird on the Meatloaf, salty, bland, it was so digusting that I threw it out! Their Hot Bar is too expensivse its $11.99 a pound. Price definitely not worth it, quality of the Meatloaf definitely not worth it, Green beans were hard they were not worth it, and mashed potatoes were okay. On July 15th, I decided to give another chance in the Hot Bar. However, my timing was not the best because everything was getting depleted for people who were having lunch with family, friends, and/or co - workers. So, I decided to get Pizza. There Pizza looks good but they are also expensive. 1 slice is $4.49 or 2/$8 with Prime deal they had. I got 4 slices of Pizza equaling $16 bucks. Bought Berry Chantilly cake slices and other small treats. When, I went home I was kind of disappointed on the Pizza it was cold and very thin. The quality is there but I wish it was a little thicker or have an option for it. Was not worth the price. Better than Amazon Fresh pizza which does not looked like it is cooked all the way. However, if you let Robert make it at Amazon Fresh it taste much better and the quality is great. Where ever place you go unfortunately, there will be some misses or hits it just depends who is making it or cooking it. I hope everyone has a good experience in both places! The reason for 3 stars is the Soups were amazing and the Berry Chantilly cakes are so delicious. However, the Hot Bar needs to be work on including the Salad Bar keeping everything in stock and proper temperature. For the Pizza I hope they add more umph to it or give an option to have a little more of it. The cashiers and self checkout person did give me some weird vibes. This store is weird. P.S. When, we had the Berry Chantilly cake on my friends birthday we shared with others at work, and we all agree it tasted delicious. Sorry for the long post but I liked to express everything in here and whats happening.

Yelp
They have many new fall items and we love going to look and walk around. Of course we must stop at the coffee shop and we are big fans of the lattes and smoothies. We never leave without getting some. Do keep in mind the line can get long at times and wait time might be even longer. Store is very organized and clean.

Yelp
The deli department is disorganized, and there's an urgent need for a better queuing system. Today, I became frustrated with customers cutting in line. At around 1 PM on 09/29/2024, a staff member behind the counter was rude and sided with a woman who was trying to skip the line. The department is also severely understaffed. Team members should be trained to rotate between stations when the line reaches five people or more to improve service flow. In the Dairy department, all the goat milk was set to expire on10/03/2024. that's 4 days away, not sure why it was still on display and not discounted.

Yelp
THEY HAVE SELF CHECKOUT! Must be new because the employees are watching over your every move at the register! I think the 2nd and pch location is better! At least they make you feel like you can do it on your own. I guess they try to assist ppl who can't work the register lol defeating the purpose tho but ok

Yelp
I've been coming to this Whole Foods for several years. In the last 6 months the service has gone down hill. Rude cashiers and employees in general. The only employee that actually is nice and goes out of his way to help is the tall guy with the short beard in the meat department. I don't remember his name. I stopped coming in a few months ago but decided to give it another try. Today I walked up to the check out and 2 lanes that back up to each other were open since it was slow. There were cashiers and 2 other employees standing there. My cashier never acknowledged me since they were talking about something very serious. The flavor of a medication. I started putting my items on the belt. I asked the young man (with blonde hair) to split the items into my 3 bags. They continued talking the whole time. It took longer to check me out because he kept turning around to talk. He just stood there and never told me he was done so I could pay. I had to ask if he was done. I paid and he takes receipt as he's turning to talk to his friends again and just sticks out his arm to hand me the receipt with no acknowledgment. No thank you, have a nice day nothing. I took the receipt and looked at him and said thank you have a nice day. He still said nothing. I spent $117.28 and this type of customer service is bad. I then went to another employee and asked for the manager. They don't call them managers but "leads". John is the lead and I told him what happened. He was very disinterested. He never apologized and never said he would take care of the issue. I then told him I would not be coming back to spend my money there. They have a lot of entitled unhappy looking young people working there.

Yelp
Was staying at the hotel nearby and needed to get some items as my son was feeling sick . Phyliss and Summer were very kind and helpful. I appreciate it. This place is clean and you can find many nutritional items here too.

Yelp
I came here purposely for a Berry chantilly cake - we were celebrating a family birthday! My son called ahead to place a hold on one - it was the last available! I arrived about 15 minutes after he called, found an employee who promptly got the cake from the back area. Entire store is well organized and of course prices here are slightly higher than the regular grocery chains or Asian centric markets. Interesting variety of fruit : I saw dragon fruit and other exotic fruit products. Quiet overall even with the piped in music. Clean aisles. Lots of carts available. Many shoppers today, but I was just here for cake. I did end up getting an assortment of cookies - those are serve yourself. I think they are sold by the piece , but I paid by the pound since I placed all of mine in one bag. Front area has a dedicated pick up and return service. Parking is a little tricky : the closest spots are reserved for efficient vehicles only so those were all deceivingly empty. Located right next to the Long Beach airport, convenient for travelers grabbing snacks for the flight.

Yelp
Enjoy this location due to the super friendly & helpful staff, the clean and organized sections, and big enough parking lot! Probably more limited food than other locations because it's a smaller location, but they still have what you need.

Yelp
Incompetent is how would describe this place. I've been going in here as a place to grab a quick lunch from the hot or cold bar for sometime now. There are always little stuff out of place especially around the food bar, and workers here have the "I just work here attitude". They are incapable of resolving anything. Today did it for me. I got my hot food went to the self checkout and couldn't scan a single piece of whole wheat pita bread from the hot bar. I wanted with my soup. The attendant tried helping and could not figure out a way to input the information in so the price show or override it to include the price. He kept scanning it which clearly didn't work because someone placed the label poorly. He asked if I could get another, but there was no other to replace it. So I forfeited buying the whole wheat pita bread, which would have costed $1.49! Congrats Whole Foods in showing a level of incompetence that you can't easily fix something that should be easily scan. You require someone to place label correctly, and when they don't have no alternative to input the correct SKU. Genius! Not coming back. Going to Lazy Acres on Bellflower from now on.

Yelp
This really is my favorite grocery store. I mean I come here about 4-5 times a month. lol I love going to whole foods. Seems like the only grocery store that I go to that is never overly crowded. I have a love/hate relationship with diary. (I love it but it doesn't love me) So, I go to whole foods for my vegan options for my "dairy" needs. I love the different selections they have for desserts, ice creams, cheese, milk and yogurts. I love their hot meal selection as well. If your in a hurry for breakfast, lunch or dinner, whole foods have the selections. I like that whole food is linked to your amazon account as well, makes shopping simpler. The music from the overhead is not over powering your ability to think and it's never loud in there, well at least when I go. They also have plenty of places to park.

Yelp
Prepared foods are good but they literally never answer the phone in that department. I'm always transferred and left on hold for 5-10 minutes and then they hang up. Horrible service from that perspective.

Yelp
Today i have a very bad experience with this store. Cashiers are not friendly at all. I took a bag of mandarins and i would like to check the price because it was different brand, so i asked the young lady if she could check the price for me. She said why you want ti check the price? And i told her politely i said because it was a different brand or name it was advertised, she said you may want to go to different whole foods if you want the same brand. I said just check for me please! And she did she asked me if i am a prime member of Amazon and i said yes, i said hold on cause i will buy more bags of mandarin. Please be kind if you work as a cashier or customer service. Don't be rude! You get paid because us ( you and me ) as a consumer!!!

Bree B.

Yelp
This location is decent inside but I wanted to share my experience that I had recently with a cashier he was a male gay employee with glasses and long hair. He didn't greet me or acknowledge me. Until I put the shopping basket on the floor. He had a huge and nasty attitude for no reason about the basket being on the floor. I was upset with how he talked to me and my family, because I've never had a rude employee with so much attitude for no reason. He definitely needs some training on customer service. I've recently read another bad review about this gentleman and he seriously needs to be trained on how to speak to customers. Maybe he needs to work in the back and not work directly with customers. It makes the whole shopping experience unpleasant and makes us not want to return back.

Yelp
Friday evening with the hubby. This is our second time getting $1 oysters on Fridays only at Whole Foods. Have to have Amazon prime membership to get the $1 oysters. Great service at the seafood department. Option for shucking the oysters or shuck them at home. We choose the option have them shuck it for us. We got 1 dozen of the Bluepoint oysters, 1 dozen of Weelfleet oysters, and 1/2 dozen Contuit Atlantic oysters. In my opinion, I enjoyed the Weelfleet the most. Bluepoint was good but flavor wise Weelfleet it was buttery. Bluepoint was bigger and plump. Contuit Allantic was similar to Weelfleet. There indoors and outdoors seating. We choose to sit outdoor to enjoy the breeze and the sunlight. My husband was able to order a stout by the bar and pizza at the food court area. Didn't get to take pictures of the pizza but the pizza was delicious, marinara sauce was on point. The lady making the pizza doesn't look very happy working there. My husband asked for Parmesan cheese she abruptly said no. She needs a break or quit if she is so unhappy...

Yelp
The management needs to know that it's Friday at 11am and no one has answered the phone for over an hour. Unreal. I just read another review about never answering the phone. The customer was wished a good day, which means they don't care. I will contact upper management.

Yelp
Whole Foods 365 frozen whole turkey purchased Nov 11, 2024, though I fully thawed it out over 3 days in our refrigerator and roasted it in our oven to the proper temperature on Thanksgiving Day, came out extremely tough with the breast meat a pink (not raw) color and the extreme inside of the thigh meat where attached to the body still raw even though thermometer stuck in thickest part of thigh meat had reached the correct temperature. Could barely slice through the extremely tough pink breast meat or the extremely tough cooked thigh meat. Totally ruined our Thanksgiving meal!!! I've been roasting turkeys on Thanksgiving for over 40 years and have never experienced such tough turkey meat! Getting a refund just does not make up for a ruined important family holiday meal!!! Please contact me between 10am - 10pm PST to ensure this gets reported and handled. Purchased at Whole Foods on Lakewood Blvd in Long Beach CA. Note: I called Whole Foods Customer Service to report issue including the bar code number on the attached receipt, but still have not received a response as yet.

Yelp
Updating my review cause I tried the cake slices again, and oh my, they're even better than I remember! Aside from my favorite Tres Leches, which never disappoints, I also tried Tiramisu and Berry Chantilly. The cream is perfection in Berry Chantilly. So milky. And you taste the bitterness of coffee in Tiramisu. Their cakes easily rival bakeshops. Plenty of free parking and walkable to and from other shops at LBX/Hangar. I highly recommend this Whole Foods!

Dawn W.

Yelp
The cooked food in the buffet is absolutely delicious, however it's a bit pricey $12 a pound. The same food is about $7.99 but it's not ready to eat, just cold. How about $10 a pound...I'd buy a lot more for the buffet. 3 stars only because of the price. $12 otherwise for the taste.

Yelp
I love coming to this store for my everyday food needs. All the meats, fruits, and vegetables are fresh. The workers are so friendly and helpful, and there's never long lines. Also it's very clean and organized

B H.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed with the lack of organization at this Whole Foods Deli. My son and I ordered one whole cheese pizza and waited 40 minutes, only to find out that our order had not even been started. This was incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of time. At 1:39 PM, when I placed my order, I was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. At 2:07 PM, I was told it would be just a couple more minutes, and then at 2:20 PM, I was told it would be another 10 minutes. What the heck! People who ordered after me received their orders first. It's clear that their system for handling orders is disorganized and needs serious improvement to avoid mix-ups like this. We expected much better service from a store like Whole Foods.
google avatar

Damian W.

Yelp
This isn't a normal Whole Foods. It's about half the size, it has no fresh meat counter, no beer garden, etc. it's basically an expensive Aldi.
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
I love Whole Foods I just feel like you have to have a lot of time to read everything when you're in there. Of course I have 100 Amazon returns. My mom's wedding is this weekend and we are at the finish line. I had to drop off a bunch of things that were not like the pictures . 2 in 1 baby 2 in 1 check Things off the list!

Emily G.

Yelp
The good - It's a clean and smaller store so it's convenient to stop in and get a few items or grab prepared food or a salad to go. The bad - I have been going here for years and the interactions with staff have been a really mixed bag. The staff who meet you for pick up orders have been friendly. However, overall the cashiers are not so helpful or friendly. Even when it's slow, it seems like they hurry you out because they just want to be done interacting with customers. It's really the luck of the draw of who you interact with each time you visit the store.
google avatar

Constance L.

Yelp
Friends and I stopped by the hot bar for an early dinner and a lot of items were sold out. The quality of the items at the hot bar was also inconsistent and a hit or miss. The chicken noodle soup was pretty bland, the chicken wing had decent flavor but was tough, and the mac n cheese was tasty but the cheese sauce was congealed. Can't expect much at an open hot bar, but works in a pinch if you're looking for variety.

Denisse C.

Yelp
Not my favorite wholefoods, not very well stocked, salad bar frequently is missing items, employees in general seem unmotivated. Today was particularly annoyed when finishing up my purchase at the self check out. Crew member supervising the checkout comes up to me and passive aggressively tells me "next time if you're going to grab a bag you need to be honest with the system" I showed him my receipt while telling him I payed for the bag and his answer was just "ok." They need better staff here. 2nd and pch location is way better.

Yelp
Love the store location and the great variety of fruit and veggies. Prepared food is just inedible. Pizza, soups and warmed Indian Food is just toooo salty. I had to get a refund one time on one of the warm dishes. Decided to try again and pizza was so salty I couldn't eat it. Into the trash it went. Save your $20+ and go to one of the actual restaurants in LBX

Yelp
Some really good prices, excellent customer support, organic free range, eggs abundantly available even during Avery flu seasons. Great that they have the Amazon return in the store as well. I don't shop there often though because they really just don't have the brands and enough fresh produce to suit my needs.

Yelp
Whole Foods is great some speciality products, but can be very expensive. I was going to Whole Foods when I was on the whole 30 diet. It was perfect for me because I was able to find foods without added preservatives and added sugar. The Siete brand here is amazing for the whole 30 if your looking for snacks! If you are trying to be intentional about the ingredients in your food this is the store. Also they're hot food is great for a quick lunch or dinner!

Yelp
Whole Foods Market is one I rarely shop due to how expensive groceries are here. However, I will say they got the best snacks, and their food bar selection is pretty good. They have an Amazon Counter inside the store if you need to pick up or return a package.

Yelp
Haven't been here in awhile but during the pandemic the pizza and sandwich counter was a go-to. We were running around with the kid and the convenience of the to go counter seemed like the ticket. Ordered two bbq plates brisket/chicken and pulled pork/chicken. I have not had something this bad in awhile. Chicken was dry - even the leg and thigh - no amount of sauce could have helped. Pulled pork was the same and brisket was more fat than meat. Yes I know brisket is fatty - this was mostly fat. Mac and cheese and Cole slaw was as expected. There are many better options at a similar price point in this center which made this all the more disappointing. Steer clear unless it's a sandwich or pizza.

Yelp
Forget it Lines long when busy It is a DIY- very frustrating. When the store is at a slow time, fewer customers it can be good, otherwise do not even try it

Yelp
Located off Lakewood Bl in Long Beach at the Long Beach Exchange. Parking is shared with other businesses. This is your typical Whole Foods Market. I came to get lunch I was planning on getting something from their salad bar and other things but nothing really appealed to me and I didn't want pizza as I was about to leave I walked by the prepackaged foods and saw the Shrimp Scampi so I grabbed it then went hunting for some kind of bread ended up getting a croissant and a strawberry lemonade drink and there was my lunch for the day all were good as well. Overall a nice store and outrageous prices but we all knew that.

Yelp
Adding this review solely for the pizza station. I came at 6:30pm on Friday for their $12 pizza special and even though it was not busy at all and they had a full staff, they refused to make my pizza because they "all had stuff to do". They said they would open the station for me in 40 minutes... like what? Don't advertise pizza hours if you're gonna close for no reason... I honestly have a feeling that the manager lady in the back was just being lazy. I didn't realize it was cool now to just refuse service for no reason.

Yelp
I am a Whole Foods regular and I enjoy going there but today on Tuesday 04/16 around 1 pm I went with my sister and we first stood in line without being acknowledged for like 10 minutes! We were ordering sandwiches! The lady working didn't want to help any of us in line. The girl in front of us left because of how to rude the lady was. When it came to our turn to order I politely asked if we could order because I wasn't sure if she was ready to take our order she replied super rude and sarcastic! She made us feel like we were bothering her! Just don't work there! We were also waiting by the pick up area and when our sandwiches were ready she just aggressively put them on the counter and didn't even look at us. I love Whole Foods but this lady made our experience so bad today!

Yelp
I love Whole Foods! Definitely pricey BUT worth every penny! Their Hot Bar is a game changer, always a different selection of yummy flavorful things.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I wished this was the real deal, but this is what we got. This location is smaller and closer to me, so I pick up a few things here and there when I need it. The prices compared to most grocery stores is higher, which is why I prefer to go to Sprouts for certain items. This spot is more of a grab and go location. Hot foods and cold drinks. You can grab hot a quick hot lunch by the weight. You can even order whole pizzas to go. They carry a smaller amount produce and other grocery items. I just found out that they do carry small slices and whole cakes of the infamous Berry Chantilly cake. They also carry my favorite random pick-up item, which is their Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookie. Service is always friendly. So good!

Yelp
You want to know why there are so many fat people in the US? Because of companies like these that make the entry barrier into healthier eating only accessible to the wealthy...there is no reason why a little container of salad is like 16-20 dollars except corporate greed...weighing the food by the pound and pricing it that high is just greed at its finest..:then they blame Biden for the inflation...nope...it's corporate greed...they found out they can get away with it...and I'm not even gonna get into the actual grocery prices...why would families spend so much money on a salad when for half they can feed their family with cheap processed food? We're f'd as a country as long as these rich corporations gets rich off of making us sick and selling us the medicines...

Yelp
This location sucksssss, nothing like a normal Whole Foods... It's big, but doesn't have a bakery or even a deli... Waited for 15 mins inline to get a sandwich, only to be told they where out of every meat, but turkey WTF? When I asked why didn't they tell the people in line waiting they where out of everything, the lady told me she was to busy to tell me!!! (Mind you there where 4 people at the customer service counter in the front that where talking and laughing, couldn't one of them source deli meat, so the sandwich shop could, god forbid make customers sandwich's!!!) Also when I ask on of the stellar works if they had the item we drove 20 mins to get, was in stock she rudely replied I have no idea... Don't waste your time driving there, if you are looking for anything Whole Foods in known for... WHAT A JOKE!!!
