Google
As far as the apex of grocery experiences Whole Foods has found the perfect formula. Some of the best sourced organic and fresh produce. The best products on the market. If you are looking to improve your health and put the best in your body you cannot do better with the variety and selection at whole foods. With fresh cooked pizza and a good sushi selection or quality cuts of meat or fresh seafood you cannot go wrong. The layout is nice, its easy to find what your looking for. The prices are both a little extravagant yet you can still find affordable products. There is a amazon pickup and return station on site. The parking area is not very large but meets your needs. The bathroom was half out of order when I went and there was a short line for the one working toilet.

Google
Whole Foods Market offers an exceptional shopping experience, particularly when it comes to their produce section. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh, high-quality, and often sourced from local farms. It's a place where you can truly taste the difference in freshness. While it’s on the pricier side, the quality justifies the cost for many. The store’s atmosphere is clean, well-organized, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a bit of a splurge, but for those who prioritize quality and are willing to invest in their groceries, Whole Foods provides a top-tier experience.

Google
Whole Foods is always a treat. The smells the product the meat the produce they are all wonderful. Although today it seems like they must’ve bought everything from China and that 104% tariff sure got the prices up high.

Google
I go to shop here and it is a great place to shop. Thursday I was there to work. And the amount of courtesy that was shown by the employees was great. The improvements that this company is putting into their store is impressive. Here are some pictures of the work that we did

Google
Great product selection, as expected from Whole Foods, and consistently kind, helpful folks behind the deli counter—but the checkout experience at this location is persistently disappointing. I’ve shopped here multiple times a week for over a year, and nearly every visit is marked by cashiers who seem annoyed, disengaged, and unwilling to assist with even the basics like bagging. Asking a simple question often feels like an inconvenience to them. This isn’t a matter of a few off days—it’s clearly become part of the culture. There’s a broader shift happening where the customer ends up doing the emotional labor, while the employee behaves as though they’re the one being put out. It’s easy to see why self-checkout is pushed here: basic courtesy at the register has become rare. This store does not reflect the standard I’ve experienced at other Whole Foods locations across the country, where service is typically warm, respectful, and efficient. The difference here is stark—and it consistently drags down what should be a simple shopping experience.

Google
Good options and nice employees, but confusing and strictly enforced "rules". My last visit was a weekday morning, and the store wasn't very crowded. Accordingly, almost every single self-checkout kiosk was open. However, when I went to checkout I was told I had too many items and had to go to the normal line, of which there were only 2 cashiers open, both with customers there. Why enforce the 20 items or less policy which builds up lines at the few open cashiers? Honestly, why have the item policy in the first place when there are rarely many cashiers open? On another occasion, one of my friends and I were sharing one cart while checking out at two different self-checkout kiosks. As we were leaving, we were told not to do that, and that we needed to get two separate baskets next time. The employee was very respectful and I'm sure well-intentioned, but I'm mostly confused about the policy itself, especially when I've never encountered one at another store. Again, this was handled as best as it could be, but it left me feeling embarrassed and confused that I somehow broke an unspoken rule. WF always has great options and friendly staff, but maybe it's time to reevaluate some of these unnecessary and confusing policies.

Google
First time there and I will say, covered parking is nice but the store is virtually impossible to walk through. Lived in Chicago for 30 years and high population and cramped spaces but all stores we quite ample to get through. I could not get a small car down vegetable isle if someone without one was walking towards me and i had no place to move over. How it has passed city safety ordiences is beyond me. I definitely will not be back.

Autumn September

Google
The staff is nice but the snotty customers are the ones that are rude. They don’t say excuse me and run right into you. They act like it’s a personal neighborhood convenience store and not a chain market that attracts all folks from other parts of the city. For that reason they do run low on stock. However this store is better than Vets and Broad because it carries better products.

Yelp
GREAT STORE ! My wife and I were in New Orleans a few years back on a work related trip. We rented bikes and rode to the Mississippi River.....what a sight ! On the way back we bought some delicious leg ham and a jar of That Pickle Guy Spicy Olive Muffalata ( darn good ) here for our lunch sandwiches back in our duplex. We also enjoyed a couple of well made hot lattes while we sat on their outdoor patio and watched the world go by ! NOTE - Of course with over 22 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics in 2022 I can tell you what is great !

Paul C.

Yelp
That place is awesome... in the Garden District with covered parking! They have the standard Whole Foods faire, also an Amazon return area that was simple to use!

Andi F.

Yelp
The parking lot is behind the store. Wide selection of everything. The employees are friendly and helpful. This store is a bit on the small side, but it is well laid out and not confusing at all. Prices seem to be comparable to other Whole Foods locations.

Zach W.

Yelp
Ordered the farm house ham and Brie sandwich and it came with one piece of ham, I basically just paid 11$ for a Brie sandwich. Second time this happed thought the first was an anomal and I was wrong

Sarah. A.

Yelp
TLDR; unbelievably RACIST employee, smaller isles, better off going to the one in Metairie. We usually go to the Whole Foods on Veterans. But we chose to come here today to check them out since we were considering moving into the garden district. Not anymore. The store looks nice from the outside. But the isles are small. Disorganized. And the lady at the self checkout was extremely racist towards myself husband and I. She had her eye on us from the moment we stepped in the self checkout lanes. She kept making comments and literally laid back on a checkout counter just to look at us. Other people noticed and were weirded out by it too. She kept making remarks as if we never grocery shopped or checked out before. She forcibly made me weigh my tomatoes wrong. And she made us very uncomfortable. Extremely hypocritical considering she was a person of color too. We will probably never be back in that wholes food again after that experience. For reference, I'm Lebanese and my husband is Hispanic. The lady was black. We're a military family. All we had was fruits and bison, nothing too crazy to even be considered stealing but she DEFINITELY made us feel like criminals....Completely ruined our shopping experience especially considering I frequent Whole Foods 1-2 times a week.

Jay H.

Yelp
Impeccable selection. Above bar service from regular chain grocery stores and better quality extras. i.e. flowers, gifts, supplements

Michael P.

Yelp
So here's another review about Amazon returns. below are screenshots of what Amazon says in the confirmation e-mail and what Whole Foods says on their website. Amazon says "any store associate can help" and Whole Foods says "show your QR code to the WFM team member" and "they'll take it from there!" Wrong. Like several others I was told they don't have the "manpower" to handle this at the desk and thus I had to go stand in a line at the kiosk only to be turned away when it was full. The "floor manager" that told me they don't have the manpower was standing with two colleagues at the empty customer service desk having a friendly conversation talking about weekend plans! Guess they can't be bothered This place is terrible!!! EDIT: The corporate recommendation to an unhelpful website is a joke. No assistance to be found there at all. Just a bunch of mumbo jumbo and Whole Foods trying to fool folks to thinking they care with the same cut and paste response to every negative review.

Alvar J.

Yelp
I've seen reviews of praise over the "selection"... As someone who shops here regularly, the selection is worse & more sparse as time goes on. I'd like to know maybe which days are best to shop here. Bananas were gone for 3 days this week & last week. Green onions/garlic/shallots disappeared for a while. All dark/espresso roasts were completely off the shelf for at least a week. The wine selection is gradually being completely reinvented & it resembles a Costco/WalMart selection. Maybe I'm just hearkening to the pre-Bezos days, but I doubt it. Selection is off & this is no longer a one-stop-shop.

Yelp
I have been coming to this whole foods location for years and really enjoyed the employees and the shelves were always well stocked and neat. People were generally pleasant... until about a year or so ago when things took a turn for the worst. Continue reading to find out more.... 1. Amazon drop of box - so this was a great addition to the whole foods location so that I didn't really have to deal with anyone when dropping off my returns. However, for extra large items that cannot fit in the box , the customer service employee told me that they can't take it ( it wasn't that big) and that I need to sort it out myself, even though the verbiage is that if the item is too big for the box you would need to have customer service representative take it for you. In addition to this- the box got stuck once because it was too full and there was no one around to assist customers at all. 2. Self checkout and just general stupidity- the self check out is great- I love just getting something, quickly doing a check out and leaving but..... for parents with small children it is a nightmare. I have young children and I put them in the kids carts when shopping, even though I buy less than 10 items I still have to stand in a long q and wait for a cashier to check me out because self check out doesn't allow carts. I actually spoke to the manager about this one and asked her why that is the case if there is only one cashier open and the line is so long- could I not just do a self checkout because it was so empty at the time. She told me that it's a corporate rule and they have to follow it. I asked her does she know why they put this rule in place and what is the logic around it as there is ample space to fit a cart- she told me no. I then proceeded to tell her that it's extremely frustrating having to wait in a line when there is only one cashier open and literally all the customers had kids. If she could maybe add some more cashiers during busy periods to accommodate this stupid rule- she told me she will see what she can do. Nothing has changed and it's still frustrating shopping there. 3. Employees - the employees at the cashier desks or at customer services are always on their phones or having conversations with their fellow workers during peak times. I don't mind workers chatting to each other etc, but I'm talking full on chats ignoring customers and packing terribly. I've resorted to just packing my own bags and I don't even bother being nice anymore at this point honestly. 4. Lack of kids carts - there are only 3 kids carts and 2 of them are slightly broken which is actually hazardous for kids. They should just get rid of them. I absolutely hate shopping here and I have chosen to drive further to other shops just to avoid going here. I only go if I have too. I really hope that they try to make some changes

Caroline K.

Yelp
Customer service desk is always a ghost town . It's getting bad . Why pay Whole Foods prices if the customer service is less than satisfactory??

Chris F.

Yelp
Always "out" of pretty much everything. Even basics. The last 5 times I've come in to pick up a few things to cook dinner they have been "out". Three times for basic veggies. They can't even keep green onions in stock for Christ sake. Since Amazon took over it has been terrible. It's a sad day when Walmart has turned into the better option.

Crystal B.

Yelp
Not really sure what's going on with Whole Foods these days. I'm used to floor personnel and cashiers being friendly, helpful and all with a smile. These folks today and the last few times were incredibly standoffish and withdrawn from customer service. Also, much of the green produce was withered and very unappealing. The produce guy was right there seeing my struggle with finding firm greens and he never said a word. Now, the produce guy on Vets is a super star. He goes out of his way to help. Stark contrast! AND, unlike the store on Veteran's, these folks are less customer focused and more work centered. I don't think I'll be back here again. It's been consistent poor customer service to me and I'm not inclined to support that.

Ashley M.

Yelp
The selection of food items at this location is disappointingly limited, for example, primarily featuring only Whole Foods brand beans and rice. It also is never adequately stocked. I usually do not count on getting my essentials like milk and eggs from this location.

Genevieve F.

Yelp
The parking lot is semi-underground which is weird, but busy enough to be okay. I found a ton of things - in fact, I bought more than I needed. I wanted their smoked fish which they were out of, but they had tons of fresh fish. The produce section is huge; in fact, I'd have to say this is the biggest While Foods in the metro area. I might be wrong, but that's how it feels. I'll be back. Actually I go to all of them based upon where I am.

Kristi L.

Yelp
This review is for Amazon Returns. It used to be easy, you walk to customers service, they scan your code and you are done. I went today and noticed they have a kiosk for Amazon returns now but there was a very long line so I went to the desk like I always used to and even though there was no one in line they told me to go to kiosk and I told them line was long and they asked me to go to kiosk since they were too busy even though no one was in line. I went back to kiosk and when it was my turn it said offline bin was full so I went back to service desk and guess what..they were checking out several customers on groceries but were too busy to help me with an Amazon return previously. Cmon now. I waited in line and noticed they might have emptied bin so I asked if they did and got a rude head nod so I went back to kiosk and finished my return. Hey Whole Foods, if you don't want to process Amazon Returns, discontinue the service so I can use UPS store. I was only given option for Whole Foods.

Dominique C.

Yelp
This review is completely about the racist behavior of Amber. She is either a lead or manager. I didn't catch her title. I've never experienced just poor customer service or consideration at any Whole Foods. But Amber takes the cake!! She blatantly disrespected and ignored a cashier who needed assistance with my transaction. Yet extremely quick to help the 3 white customers who needed assistance after me. The cashier asked Amber 4 TIMES FOR HELP!!! It wasn't until the store manager came to register did she come. (Run the cameras back to Sunday, April 21st at 5:20pm) Then she pretended like she didn't know what happening. It was total BS!! How can she work in a city full of black people and behave this way. She needs to be fired!!

Jeremy T.

Yelp
This location is not the best. The isles are narrow and busy and it doesn't seem to have many options. The layout isn't very good and the woman that checked me out seemed to be annoyed with her job. It's better than nothing but there are probably better alternatives especially with the price of the food.

Gracie G.

Yelp
I was getting ready to have surgery, so as a treat I went to Whole Foods for some sliced brisket. Usually it's excellent. I was at Ochsner all day with no lunch so I couldn't wait to get home to eat it. It had been sliced WITH the grain!!!! I had bought a pound and a half so it cost me $35 to eat a pair of flip flops! My dog enjoyed a few bites but it was just plain inedible. I contacted the website and so far have not received any response. Pretty disappointed with you, Whole Foods!!!

LEON K.

Yelp
From atlanta visiting... and this whole foods is better than any of them up there. It's what whole foods used to be like before Amazon acquired them. All the hot food stations and stuff on the inside perimeter. Y'all are doin it right down here. And that smoked rotisserie chicken is something else we don't have up there. I am going back to get three more to take to georgia.

Nunya B.

Yelp
Loooong lines again.. Not with it:( Doesn't matter what day or time anymore.. Still going to wait..

Kristen C.

Yelp
This was the prettiest Whole Foods I have ever seen. It's in a huge historic building. I stopped in for a cold drink, and they had many options in the refrigerator case. There were many check out lines, and even though you could tell the store was busy I was served quickly. The location was very ideal. It's located right on historic Magazine Street, and it's on the route of the 11 bus. Inside, there's a nice eating area that's air conditioned! Overall, a pleasant visit.

QueenDivaChanel 5.

Yelp
Hubby and I brought our King Cake from here today 2-22-2022 . Our Daughter introduced it to us for my Birthday Party . It was absolutely delicious. You must try the Chantilly and the Cinnamon King Cake . Ross and the Bakery Department are very kind.

Eve B.

Yelp
I like this Whole Foods best out of the 3 in the Nola area! Their prepared section has lots of awesome vegan options, I LOVE their vegan chicken and tuna salads and check out the bakery section bc they always have a vegan table with tons of awesome baked treats like donut holes and croissants. Staff is super friendly and helpful and it's in a beautiful spot on magazine just a few blocks from the park. It's an old street car barn which gives it the most amazing historic feel! Highly recommend!!!

Ann S.

Yelp
So sad that the Seeduction Bread recipe (picked up a loaf this morning) seems to have changed. It is not as dense or flavorful and has fewer seeds, than before. Several of us were very disappointed! Did we just get a bad day, or was there a recipe change?

Jen L.

Yelp
It's been over a decade since I last updated my WF review. And the entire chain has been purchased by new owners... Some things are the same. The quality of the produce is still great. As is the cheese selection and the bulk aisle. The staff is always helpful and really nice. I feel like the items in the hot bar have gone a bit downhill (all locations). The parking lot can be a bit insane, especially with the small spaces and giant vehicle issue. Also people don't pay attention to the posted signage. OTH I saw an honest to goodness Delorean in the parking lot AND saw the driver open the gull wing doors, so that's the best thing ever.

Mike T.

Yelp
They have some good stuff here. It's clean, folks are helpful. I like it. It's kind of expensive. Ok it's expensive. Bring your own bags. They have good bread baked on site. Hot food is great. Lunch Dinner Coffee. I like it.

Patricia R.

Yelp
I like this Whole Foods for several reasons. First - because of the location. I'm a die hard Magazine St. fan and the old bus barn has that NOLA charm. Second - because there's a covered parking lot in the back of the building. Come on - off street parking on Magazine?!? Big win. Third - beautiful produce. My biggest issue with this location is that it just feels so cramped to me. I'm glad that there's as much inventory as is possible in the space, but it makes it a little tough to navigate the aisles when it's crowded. All in all, lovely store and decent customer service.

Ellery D.

Yelp
Love this Whole Foods; very pleased to have found it in this land where groceries are scarce. It has a decent produce section, and an excellent salad and hot bar. And at the deli counter, there's vegan pizza by the slice!! Which was delicious, I might add--nice thin crust, plenty of toppings. My local Whole Foods is not so advanced... and I live in California. Their supplement section isn't bad either. I was pleased to see some herbs by Wild Harvest brand. The employees were also nice, and the samples plentiful. Well done, New Orleans.

Collete G.

Yelp
All I can say is that this is by far one of the worst Whole Food Markets I have shopped at. I literally am considering cancelling my prime membership because of my experience at this store. Rigged machines, bad customer service and only certain people can help you locate an item, others just stand around talking or pretending to work so they don't have to help you. Save your money and shop someplace you will get decent service for the money you spend

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Never again. While they have a lovely array of unique and organic this and that, if you ALSO need something simple like maalox or some other over the counter remedy you have to go somewhere else. The best they can offer is ginger pills...

Lisa S.

Yelp
The store part is fine and the wine-tasting lady was cool, but the salad bar here is revolting. Semi-frozen cucumbers with ice crystals, cauliflower and broccoli with brown edges, old carrots with dried out white stuff on them, sloppy presentation and etc. etc..... I expect a better salad bar from whole foods. This is probably the worst whole foods salad bar I've ever seen in all my travels :(

Tory P.

Yelp
Cute location. Shaded little parking lot in the back. It winds you through from the side of the store. Fairly decent size inside with some great selection of products! Similar to other Whole Foods I've been in. Large prepared foods section. The store was clean and a bit busy for a Tuesday during the day. The large window in the front of the store is such a nice feature. It is located in the smack dab of a residential area. Prices are normal for a Whole Foods as well. 0/5 stars for the bathrooms in this place. Dirty! I was so surprised & disappointed.

howard b.

Yelp
For some reason Whole Foods and Trader Joe's makes it a point to open in an area with limited parking. The parking was a mess so I went down the street and that was much easier. The store was good, great selection, clean and safe. Whole Foods is always a nice alternative from the other local grocery stores

Brandon P.

Yelp
So I go to Whole Foods basically for one staple item, their granola. My favorite of which would be the apple cinnamon flavor. I'm pretty sure apples and cinnamon are available all year long so why is it that neither of your Nola locations nor Metairie location have had my favorite for going on two months now?

Gayle M.

Yelp
Too expensive and has more non-organic than organic stuff. Used to be affordable. Good quality produce.

Céline D.

Yelp
I took a few things of prepared food in a box to take away and I found it very expensive I had not much in the box, like just the bottom, very few, and it cost me almost 12$ I was a bit disappointed Appart from that, the shop looked great and the service too!

Doug W.

Yelp
I don't know how you can review a chain supermarket known for high end and mostly healthy products and give them a bad review because it's expensive. If you can't afford these products or don't know why better products cost more money then shop somewhere else. It's simple. Whining because you can't afford a Porsche doesn't make any sense. This market provides the best of what is available to us in this country. So, lets talk about this specific location compared with others. It's smaller and the selection isn't as good as many of the other Whole Foods locations I have been to. Some of the prepared foods I have had here are barely edible and the service at those counters is spotty at best. In fact, the service here in general is hit or miss. The exception is the BBQ counter. Some of the best barbecue you'll find in New Orleans remarkably. The sides are just ok but the meats are amazingly well prepared. I am really grateful there's a Whole Foods in this neighborhood and that I get to shop here. I wish they would get more organic and local produce but am satisfied overall with what they have. I can't imagine living here without having these options available to me. They cost more but my health is worth it.

Re H.

Yelp
It smells like California to me and whether, I need that perfect steak, a fresh baguette or am feeling homesick I visit Wholefoods. I've heard it's pricey, but you pay for quality. I really like their Wholefoods brands and often stock up on pantry items. My kid is a fan of their bite size brownies. I like their .....well honestly I like their everything. They have the best floral selection and HOT tip, if the florist is in you can hand them flowers you pick and they'll throw together the loveliest of arrangements. It's my go to place for birthday arrangements and a sweet to surprise my friends. During the holidays they host donation trees. For Halloween you can buy costumes and at Christmas time, Children's hospital puts out requests from families whose children are receiving treatment. I'll always patronize a business who participates in local charities....and who reminds me of being so far away from the sunny beaches of California.

Charles H.

Yelp
BEWARE: HOT BAR & SALAD BAR ARE BOTH $9/LB A fair deal if you opt for those two huge King Ranch chicken enchiladas like I did ($5.66). But a major mistake if you get a small greens-only side salad ($5.63). See pic.

Madeleine T.

Yelp
sick barely cooked chicken from the hot bar do better whole foods or you'll be losing a loyal customer

Bob N.

Yelp
Located on Magazine St, this building is a historic Uptown New Orleans landmark built in the 1890s. It originally stored streetcars and was known as the Arabella Carbarn. This location has lots to choose from. If you are not already familiar with Whole Foods, expect lots of high end choices of food products and great produce. They also carry a great beer selection, with lots of local appeal. The salad and hot bar offer a large mix of tasty options and you pay by weight. The Mac and cheese is so good, but buyer beware it's a heavy food item. Now for the surprise take on Whole Foods, the pizza by the slice! It's darn good, in fact I'd put there slice against anyone else's in town, it's that good. I love Whole Foods but the price points are what they are. You do get what you pay for, but I can't pay for all that, that often. Enjoy a slice that won't break the bank.

Ryan H.

Yelp
This is the New Orleans branch of the "all natural" grocery chain. I hope you have deep pockets! Product: Non-GMO meat and veggies, "organic" foodstuffs, and related "health" drinks and foods, they also cater to the vegetarian/vegan crowd. I find the selection to be quite wide, though esoteric, with exotic prices to boot. I do not think the costs for items here is, on the whole, worth it. I think most of it is a marketing ploy. 2 stars Service: There is a small army of employees working here at any one time. There are typically a large number of cash registers open, which is quite nice, and getting an employee to assist in, say, the deli area is quite easy. Sometimes, there are employees working sampling stations, to give customers a taste of whatever foodstuffs they are selling that day. All the employees are trained to be friendly to a fault. 5 stars Facilities: The building occupied by this business a a huge square monolith of construction way Uptown. It is 2 stories in height. Parking is in a private lot in the rear, at the back half of the ground floor. The main store area is the front half of the first floor, with large windows to let in natural lighting. The second floor houses the alcoholic beverages, of which there are many. There are bike racks in the front. The whole area is clean inside and out. The aisles are well-labeled, though it can be tough finding some of the odder items therein. Signage is large and quite visible out front. 5 stars Bonus: They have a cafe inside the grocery. The coffee is decent. Overall: I *really* want to give this business a higher rating, but the cost per item is phenomenal, to the point that it strongly discourages me from shopping here for anything but the rarest of food items. 3 stars

Yomarie G.

Yelp
Good service! Just remind yourself to present your amazon discount because they won't remind you lol.

Courtney K.

Yelp
I've been coming to this Whole Foods for as long as it's been open but never wrote a review. The produce section is always immaculate, and the salad and hot food bar are well maintained and varied. Yes, it's expensive but it's better now with the Amazon Prime discounts. The pizza looks better than it tastes. The cheese selection is outstanding and varied and is the reason for my review. The lady with the blond braids is so knowledgeable and was so helpful in advising me on a triple cream. I didn't catch her name, but she's awesome, and I'm enjoying my delicious cheeses right now!

Brandi I.

Yelp
I went to this store on April 9,2022 and had the worst experience. While attempting to get a bag of ice out the complimentary cooler a worker had her personal water jug on it. I picked it up to move she came and took it out of my hand. I went back to put it on my items that needed ice and my mom said we needed another. We went back and she once AGAIN had her personal water jug on it. My mom moved and put it on top of a box. The employee rudely came over abd said they touched and put on the ground. Then wiped it off with wipes like we were infested. We replied it shouldn't have been on the cooler for customers. At this point she seemed as if she wanted to fight while employees were telling her Danielle no. This was unprofessional and tacky of her.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Smaller than regular Whole Foods but still a great place for vegan options in New Orleans. They carry our favorite local brands like Taylormade Eats kale chips, Cajun Cheddar is the best! No juice or smoothie bar just coffee and hot food bar. Great wine/alcohol selection

Howard H.

Yelp
About six months ago, I had some bbq from their smoker that didn't measure up, imo. To update: I just had a brisket sandwich it was really incredible. Great texture and color, a little tasty-greasy, tender. It hit on all cylinders with a little sauce that was mellow and complimented the meat. Thanks! Previous review: I just wanted to sing the praises of Whole Foods barbecue at this location. I stopped by on Saturday to get a brisket sandwich. I got it with pickle only, no sauce and it was perfect. Darkly smoked but not an overpowering smoke taste. It had a bit of charred fat on the meat that added a nice flavor to the sandwich. As a reformed Texan, I have to say this is probably the best brisket I've had in nola and I've enjoyed it on a number of occasions.

Yelp
I come here when I want to pretend I have disposable income. I come here when I want to pretend it's organic or nothing. I come here when I want to bask in my self conceived delusion of grocery grandeur. I also come here when my diet consists of tears and the sweet aromas or baked goods, salad bar condiments and hot fresh food. Organic chocolate milk on sale for less than $3--well, that was a genuine pleasant surprise. I will be back to mingle with the high rollers.

Yelp
I have been going almost exclusively to this Whole Foods for the last 4 years of living in Nola, and although everything about it is standard WF goodness & quality; what strikes me about this one is the quality of employees. Yesterday while shopping the meat section for goodie sales , I worked up the confidence to ask the butcher something that's bothered me lately. For me buying humanely raised meat is EVERYTHING. Since I'm not able to be a vegetarian, for me it's the only other option. Hence why I go to WFs &I buy organic (not for bougie reasons I assure you). Anyways, I noticed that the veal (which is a meat I will not eat anyways) had a red sign instead of the normal welfare grading system. This immediately alarmed me and caused me so much sadness that baby cows no matter what, even in WFs, are not treated humanely. So I asked the butcher what the red means and he told me that it's not rated yet because WFs systems of ratings take years and that the veal was new. However, and here's why I'm writing this review, he assured me that from his experience the bright red color of the veal, and bc of the name of the distributor, he knows it is free range veal and not caged. He also told me that if it's ever bright red at another place I can be assured and comforted that it's free range, and/or if it was from the name of the distributor he told me of. He may not know this but he made me so happy and that's why I shop at places like WFs. Thank you :)
