This store appears to be closing down. The shelves are bare, prices are skyrocketing, and the quality of the products is subpar. The aisles are deserted, and there’s a noticeable lack of customer service. Additionally, they’ll be discontinuing the sale of Beyond Meat products. It’s worth checking the expiration dates, as many items are expired.

Disappointing pickup experience + unsafe-feeling policies I placed a pickup order at the Whole Foods on 125th Street in Harlem and had a friend pick it up for me today because I couldn’t get outside. They arrived with the pickup code, but an associate **without a name tag** refused to release the order and demanded additional personal information (PII) anyway. That’s a problem. It’s alarming that this location expects customers to hand over personal information to **unnamed employees**, while not requiring associates to wear name tags so customers know who they’re speaking with—especially if an issue needs to be escalated. If the pickup code is the verification method, it should be sufficient, or at the very least the policy should be consistent, clearly communicated, and handled professionally. Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated “off day” feeling. This isn’t my neighborhood store, but I’ve stopped here several times to pick up items for an elder in the area, and each visit makes me question why I keep coming back. The last time I was in person, there was a persistent odor of rotten meat in parts of the store. The store layout also feels unnecessarily frustrating—pushing large carts in a space that mostly accommodates small pull baskets or half baskets creates congestion and friction. Then at checkout, customers are expected to bend down and unload their baskets themselves because employees won’t take the basket, which feels like offloading labor onto customers who are already paying premium prices. It’s no surprise the self-checkout line wraps around the corner while staffed lanes sit empty—customers are trying to avoid more negative interactions. Between the service attitude and a layout that feels chaotic (and honestly like a fire hazard in busy moments), this store needs a serious operational reset. I strongly encourage leadership to visit a Trader Joe’s and observe how simple design choices—like accessible basket stands and smoother checkout flow—reduce stress for both customers and staff. Whole Foods should be better than overpriced groceries paired with substandard service dressed up as “community empowerment.”

Well what can I say about whole foods? nothing much to complain about, the prices could be a bit lower but we all know that that's the norm for the most part. It's right in my neighborhood quality of food is good but if you decide you want to be a health nut it's going to be hard I mean they have all the organic stuff, The processed stuff, the whole healthy stuff, but as soon as you enter in there you are bombarded with all the smell of the bread coming from the oven, the pizza slices, the muffins the aruggalars the croissants these types of food contributes to the Medicaid and healthcare corporations lol, I mean this is driving me nuts somebody please hold me back This is a you can exercise your free will yes butbut to a point where your own free will will drive you crazy, 😮please keep me away from this temptation 😄😄!!!

First time at this location. Overall a fairly standard whole foods, with a few notable exceptions: * The hot bars were already being cleaned at 7:45pm (closing time of 9pm), save for one island with still some food left... Couldn't tell if they just simply closed the hot bars earlier than other whole foods or if they ran out of food. It was a Sunday so maybe close earlier than usual? * While I was browsing the hot bar, a woman came up to me asking me to buy her some food. I had never experienced this before in a whole foods, so I froze for a few seconds processing what just happened 😅 she quickly moved on after I politely refused. The event bothered me for a little bit, but I decided that it was not a big deal and could happen anywhere. Overall still sufficiently satisfied with the shopping experience, mostly got what I came for, self-check out was quick and painless, etc., so still a 4 ⭐

The young man at the checkout was rude. He did not want to assist me when I told him I was not experienced in the Prime way of checking out. He just kept pointing at the register. When I said he didnt want to help me, then he decides to come and assist me. Not every customer knows about certain aspects of checking out at different locations. Even though I have Prime, I never used it before. The folks who use this establishment seem to be fine with the escalator being out of service and an employee NOT helping a woman get something on a top shelf. This place was a bit much. But I got out quickly, only because I buy a few things from here.

I had a negative experience in the butcher department with Jonathan during a recent visit. I politely asked him to slice a rack of lamb into chops, and instead of a simple confirmation, he responded by saying I “or you could have just selected the pre-sliced chops,” in a tone that felt dismissive and unnecessary. The department was not busy at the time, and slicing meat upon request is a standard service at a butcher counter, so the interaction came across as passive-aggressive and unprofessional. It created an uncomfortable moment that his colleague appeared to notice and attempt to smooth over. I did bring the matter to management, and I appreciate that they apologized and addressed it. I’m sharing this feedback in the hope that customer interactions reflect the level of courtesy and professionalism expected.

This particular Whole Foods located in Harlem 125th is only operational for profit & gentrification purposes, This location is in disservice to the community for the simple fact they do not have any restrooms for customers that frequent their business, there is not any other Whole Foods located in NYC that does not have a restroom!!! How are they able to ethically justify this? Because this community is predominantly black its acceptable!! I say this is a grave disservice and the community should protest & hold Whole Foods accountable for we are humans with respect and dignity and having no restroom in this location is a racial disparity that cannot,shouldn't be ignored.My niece is pregnant and wanted soup a few days ago and of course she needed a restroom while we were deciding well surprise no restroom!!! Whole Foods located in all other locations all have restrooms 🚻 this was deeply disappointing &disheartening to discover. I hope WF's can make a restroom in the near future its priority to do better for Harlem Communities that serve your needs & make your profit margins its not acceptable I will be petitioning for this at the one location that has no restroom for paying customers.

Great customers service. The staff was very helpful but when it came to some of the items like meat and seafood the selection was very limited. I didn't like the checkout line system that they have set up. You actually end up waiting for a long time as suppose making a line behind the cash register. The restroom was clean and the cashier was helpful.

I want to share a packaging issue I've had for a while. This past weekend I went to the Bryant Park location and noticed that muffins are sold in packs of 2. That made me wonder why this isn't an option at the 125th Street location. We shouldn't have to buy 4 muffins when we only want 1 or 2. Clearly the downtown locations understand this, since many flavors are available as singles or in 2-packs. I know some muffins uptown can be bought one at a time, but a lot of the best flavors can't. Downtown, most flavors were available as singles or in packs of 2. Please give uptown customers the same choices. Thank you.

While I mostly shop at Trader Joe's, I do like certain produce at Whole Foods down the street from my place, specifically bunches of organic spinach and Brooklyn's pre-washed, pesticide-free, clean greenhouse-grown Gotham Greens. While Whole Foods can be pricey for what you get, I do like certain deals you can find, particularly those for Prime Members. (Slightly confused though, the "Local" signage above the Gotham Greens set said Providence, Rhode Island... which ain't "Gotham".) This time, grabbed a half loaf of Whole Foods own fresh, flavorful, sliced Rosemary Sourdough Bread - perfect for my comfort food lunch, a tuna fish sandwich! (The tuna salad on rosemary bread is fantastic combo!) Like how the reasonably priced 1/2 loaf selection is right where you enter. Also that the security guard and cashiers wish you to "Have a great day!" It makes this Whole Foods a super customer experience!

I've been to this store numerous times and for the most part is a regular Whole Foods with a good variety of food and ok produce selection. I've always wanted to try their rotisserie chicken and when I came in tonight they were all sold out except for the rotisserie chicken that was in the refrigerator. This looked like the same exact chicken so I decided to give it a try. Once I got home I cut off a piece of it and even added chicken broth to heat it up in the oven to prevent it from drying out. This chicken was so tasteless and dry, it was basically like chewing on cardboard. I'm baffled at how they can sell chicken like this and in Harlem of all places. I've never returned an item to the grocery store but this chicken is so bad that I am thinking about returning it.

I did have some excellent meatloaf last week Thursday's meatloaf day so I got that down Otherwise, still disappointed in Amazon's leader, but it is what it is

I love whole foods and will always go out of my way to access them. But the Harlem location unfortunately fails to meet this expectation, and I will most likely never return until there is more training provided to its security. On Saturday, May 24, 2025, my elder aunts and I visited this location for a grocery haul. The security was completely out of pocket and distasteful. Throughout our ~45-minute visit, "plain-clothes" security followed us like the weirdos you find on the train (I honestly couldn't tell the difference by the end of my visit). The entire experience was uncomfortable and made me feel like I wasn't worthy as a shopper at the premier grocery store. I understand "heightened surveillance" might be easy for businesses in "high-crime" areas, but Whole Foods should still be able to provide a quality shopping experience for its customers. Unfortunately, I also want to mention that I am a minority woman, as are the immigrant women who accompanied me. IS THIS THE REASON WE WERE TARGETED? Everyone has to do their job, but providing more security training would give customers a more pleasant experience. Looking past the discriminatory treatment, the Harlem Whole Foods location is nice and has a good selection of items.

The delivery service is awful. I've been ordering Whole Foods delivery from the Amazon app. Almost every time, I'm missing items from my order and the perishables are warm. Frozen vegetables arrive warm and squishy, and so is the fruit. Ice cream bars are so melted that they lose the shape of a bar. I've thrown away cartons of milk because I don't trust it. Even in the winter, the perishables were warm and I think the drivers are often stealing things from my orders. These are all consistent problems. It's unacceptable that this zillion dollar company handles our food so poorly. I'm better off picking it up from the store myself because this delivery service has been useless.

Whole Foods at 125th Street is just as nice as the one by my apartment. Yes it's pricey unless you catch a sale or you have an Amazon Prime membership. I like the 365 brand products and they are reasonably priced. They are good quality but the nut butters do not have the delicious flavor of the Kirkland brand from Costco. I'm screwed if my Costco ever closes. If you want a buffet meal when you're visiting this neighborhood this is a good place to start. It's more convenient for neighborhood residents and people working nearby than it is for me.

I as someone who was born and raised in Harlem understand the challenges of the market as well as anybody. But having a hot and cold food bar with no place to sit and eat and no way to use the restroom is frankly disgusting and dehumanizing. If that's how they feel they have to conduct business in this market they should just close up shop and leave.

This review is for Too Good to Go (2GTG) bags that are sold via the app for Whole Foods. They've just arrived at WF in New York after rolling out elsewhere in the US over the summer. I've purchased dozens of TGTG over the past year. Tonight's experience at WF 125th St Harlem was the worst. First, I had to ask five employees where to pick up the bag and none of them had heard of TGTG. Finally tracked down a staff member who could help. The bag was a disappointment. The value is supposed to be $21 yet the retail price on the two items came to under $14. And these two items had been marked down 50% already. Until WF can get their act together and stop ripping off unsuspecting TGTG users, buyer beware.

Didn't want an expensive lunch so I bought two $4 pizza slices. Great! The pepperoni was heated up perfectly. Dripping cheese yum. The Buffalo chicken the man didn't reheat even when I asked him if it was hot and he said it just came out. Do it was lukewarm. But good pizzas. A line for self checkout. $8 total. No one in line for pizzas. I'm stuffed and didn't pay much. Thanks

Food is good quality, fresh, and can be warmed up upon asking. Service was cool as there was not much interaction. The ambiance is the regular vibes of a grocery store with a buffet, people in and out and the casual accidental bump with the shopping cart. I got the tuna apple cranberry wrap and it was very fresh tasting as the lettuce was still crunchy, raisins were soft, wrap was soft, and I was super full and satisfied with my purchase. It was $8 which I believe is a fair price for the quality of the food.

What's the point of this section? The cafe is never open. I come every other morning and afternoon and always see the same sign. Everyone in the neighborhood calls it Whole Foods' "pretend cafe corner." Now I see why--this is false advertising. No one is ever here to open it.

The checkout process has to be more efficient. They should keep some of the self checkouts open to reduce the lines at the registers but they only had one open near closing time and then shut it down exactly 9 pm. If someone has one or two items they should be allowed to use self checkout to speed up the process for everyone. Some people with a few items are stuck behind people with a full shopping cart. Perhaps there needs to be an Express line. Didn't find any gallon water bottles here and this is the tiniest Whole Foods. It feels very cramped shopping here and won't be back. I assume the reason for the one self checkout is because that's their way to reduce theft. If it's out of control and the service is slow, well then I don't see this store will last much longer.

I'm pretty spoiled by the Whole Foods in Atlanta. But being in Brooklyn for a day this one did not disappoint. Picked up water, fresh fruit and took in the locals. When visiting New York pace yourself. Go for the local food trucks and cuisine. But also add this staple to your list. You won't be disappointed.

I loved shopping at Whole Foods Harlem. They were nearby my hotel & had a good variety of hot foods on hand. The store was a decent size & the lines were full per usual for Whole Foods in general. **This particular location does not have dine in seating.** I also found a scent of Good Soap that we don't carry back home so I was excited about that :)

Why do I even bother with whole foods at this point...quality of food has just gone to trash. Who wants to eat this with lettuce looking like this ?? Would you ?? This was $8.00 smh

We all know this place is expensive but this location has good prices and the hot food is really fresh and the area is clean. It's usually never busy which is nice. I recommend the soups they're delicious like the broccoli cheddar or classic chicken noodle. You can do self checkout which is easy and convenient. I study near by so I come here for lunch sometimes. The sushi bar is also good.

Interesting whole foods, glad theres a place to shop but check out situation at this whole foods is bizarre to say the least. Other yelpers have talked about this extensively so i'm just going to include my highlights: - good selection of cheese and baked items and beers -Good frozen section- love the frozen levain cookies and frozen biscuits pizza etc - some employees genuinely seem happy to be here - whack check out takes forever unless you can go first thing in the AM its almost better to just order online

Don't buy flowers from whole foods. MY flowers died the next day we bought them and the manager wouldn't give us a refund.

Bought 5lbs of juicing oranges here. Took them out of the fridge 2 days later and they were moldy and some were black inside. No excuse for oranges going bad in 2 days.

Parking is the only problem with this store. The items are moderately priced. Check the use by date first before buying.

I really like how you can pick up packages from Amazon at this location. It makes it really easy so that you don't have to have packages just delivered outside your home and possibly taken!

So ..... Walked over to Whole Foods just now (in the blazing spring sun) to do my shopping for the week. Imagine my astonishment when the store was locked, with a small, hasty-looking sign on the door that proclaimed "value shopper customers only 1 - 4 PM." I looked in to see these "value shopper customers" but the store looked deserted. Oh and there was a growing crowd of potential (actual) shoppers outside - likely also looking to purchase necessities. Like me, they were quite unhappy. Then, I learned that all of the businesses in this section of corporate 125th street were also closed without explanation: H & M, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body works. Conversely, ALL of the black-owned business were open. Hmmmmm....... There were groups of very unhappy-looking prospective customers outside each venue. Seriously, Whole Foods ? There was a medium-sized group of people in front of the Apollo Theater commemorating the birthday of Malcolm X. Did this have anything to do with this completely unannounced closing ? Because they certainly did not look dangerous to me. I never loved Trader Joes but I am now looking forward to that opening. If nothing else, it will be difficult for me to forgive that long walk in the sun to buy groceries for the week - in the time window I had.

I stop by after I came to radiology appointment. Store is big, but I didn't need to bump into other customers. The line was long but it went quickly. I just didn't want to go downstairs to get what I needed..... Bus stop is Infront of the store and running every 5min! 102(East village), 7(Columbus circle/Upperwest side)

The Harlem Whole Foods is good for take-home foods but just don't eat the food like salads off of the open trays. The homeless people stick their fingers in it and ruin the food when the Security and cops ain't looking. It's a regular thing because they got a Methadone clinic right around the block and the Whole Foods sidewalk and bus stop is a hangout spot. They also have Covid testing van which brings lots of people who want to know if they are sick or not so you get lots of people standing around the entrance. This all makes for a good place to protest or request for donations no matter what your cause. Just don't try anything for the Open-Saladbar you'll regret it once you see somebody grabbing the food with their dirty bare hands. This is me outside of Whole Foods protesting the Fascist Regime. Viva La Revolution Baby! The Revolution or nothing less...

We bought a carrot for a bday party and it was the best decision ever, the cake was fresh and more than enough for our small party. Even on a Mother's Day we were available to find a cake in stock, and the place wasn't crowded the service was excellent.

I'm happy that the quality of the produce section has improved but with that the prices are pretty high. I spent $6 on 4 apples and I had to ask the cashier to take the grapes off my tab because they were $7. The other day the cashier accidentally rung up rutabaga as rhubarb. The rhubarb was $20. Why are the Whole Foods locations downtown cheaper than this location? I know it's more expensive to eat healthy but these prices are ridiculous.

This whole food is not good! High prices and bad looking fresh meat. And on top of all of this they don't even have public bathroom... what's seem wired they use to have it when they first opened. Not worth the trip in this one !

The absolute worst Wholefoods I've ever visited. The workers are horrible. They don't make eye contact when checking out and when you ask them for assistance, they assist reluctantly. I will never ever step foot in here again. This morning, I went in oatmeal. I purchased the oatmeal and walked to my office. I sat at my desk to eat the oatmeal. I took two mouthfuls and then I noticed that they had sold me oatmeal that was BURNT! I was shocked and appalled. How the hell can a store like Wholefoods sell such a thing? I can burn my own damn oatmeal! Shame on the employee that burned the oatmeal and still decided to serve it to customers. It's disgusting that the manager or supervisor of the prepared food section didn't even to see or taste that the oatmeal was not edible or not in a state that should be feed to others. Wholefoods has a certain duty of care that they failed to follow. It's disappointing that this Wholefoods is located in a largely black community and I experienced this. I frequent the Union Square location and never once did I experience the things that I wrote above. So after I completed a bulk of my work, I walked back to Wholefoods with my burnt oatmeal and receipt in had. I demanded to speak to a manager! It took at least 15 minutes for the manager to come to the help desk. When she did arrive, she said she knew about the incident and she threw the oatmeal away after. So she basically answered my question of whether they checked the oatmeal before putting it out and the answer is they did not. She simply said sorry and walked away! Never again .

So I had a salad here for lunch and I didn't get sick! SCORE. I was skeptic about the open salad bar, loads of people and germs overall but surprisingly things weren't so bad. Fairly neat and well maintained. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable when I asked if Mac&Cheese was vegetarian. I might come back but there's another place in Harlem called Olive that made a nice salads and doesn't cost me as much. But on flip side Whole Foods offers a lot more variety in vegetables/dressings/options. There is plentiful seating, check out is quick and overall a decent spot! Will update my ratings after I check out some of their other options like pizza station, and coffee.

Extremely underwhelming. My sister and I are obsessed with Whole Foods. If you know us in real life, Whole Food is engraved in our DNA. It was one of the places we first searched before getting to NY. So you can imagine our surprise when we got there and everything looked dishevelled. The hot food bar: DON'T. Seriously don't unless you're literally the first person to walk in in the morning to grab food. We made it later in the day and it looked like the food had not been rotated in hours. Granted I don't condone throwing food out but there are literally 50 homeless people outside looking for a decent meal and the food here could have been put to good use. Produce: There's a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, organic items to pick from if planing to cook at home. Just be mindful of what your selecting because everything looks suspect. There isn't a wide variety of drinks to pick from in the water/juice section. Just a bit of odds and ends here and there. There's a MASSIVE natural homeopathic remedies, candles, body care, scents to pick from. With that also comes the expensive price tag. To think I'd have to pay $12.99 American for candle that would cost me $8.99 in Canada for the same exact product is just a plain ripoff. Tourists need to be mindful when purchasing items because sometimes it's not worth it. Bakery: stale. Some of those cookies look like they been sitting. Which is unfortunate because again, they could have gone to use before they got to that state. Customer service here is very wishy washy. The first day we came and got groceries, the ladies at cash were super friendly. Small talk, a few compliments and giggle. The second day we dropped in for coffee, the girls working the bakery were not exactly the most pleasant and their eye rolls weren't welcomed either.

I've gone to this location for a couple of times for staple runs. I normally avoid Whole Paycheck because there are other markets where you can get your organic greens at a much reasonable price. The times I've gone, I have been pleasantly sticker shocked! The prices are marked down to the core. Since the acquisition from Amazon, there are more deals coming. I saw organic strawberries for $2.99, organic black berries for $3.99, the prices cuts were amazing. It wasn't a one time thing because I've had multiple visits to this location. Bananas were 69 cents by the pound, comparable to your small market or fruit stand, which I still frequent because it's near my apartment. Surprise, the avocado is comparable too. The check out line was something to get used to because when the light goes up, some shoppers think it's their turn and it messes up the sequence. To alleviate the confusion, the line barriers should be color coded to match the lights and the signage as well, so it will be clear to the shopper. Another tip for Wholes Food to implement is a designated bike parking. There are far more bikers uptown than other locations and there is room for bike parking, so it would be nice for your costumers to put one. Overall, it's a great addition to my neighborhood for fresh organic foods.

Surprised the reviews on this Whole Foods are so low. Anytime I stop by or order from here everything is nice. They always have the food I want in stock, the quality of the food I get is always great. Steaks are always a good cut and the seafood (especially on sale) is good! The workers are nice, but you are on your own for the most part so I wouldn't come here looking for excellent service but it's a grocery store anyway. Not a sit down restaurant.

Yesterday, I accidentally threw away a receipt for a cake that my supervisor purchased for a co-worker here at Odyssey House. Kendra Nunez who is a supervisor located on 125th St called me and swiftly was able to retrieve the receipt and e-mail me a copy of it. This location is amazing with their service and team work. Thank you once for you rapid response Kendra Nunez. You are the best. Monique Williams

I took photos of the carton we purchased at Whole Foods on 125th street- PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS Half of this cookie dough (brand: enlightened) was either missing or not filled properly. Coupled with freezer burn, I cannot possibly eat this. Customer service, kindly contact me as I have photos for quality control purposes and would like reinbursement or action from a customer service perspective. I am so disappointed and wondering if any other containers have been contaminated! We purchased this today at the Whole Foods on Lenox and 125th street in Manhattan, New York. We come here regularly and want to understand what is being done from a quality control perspective to prevent this from happening again!

This Whole Foods location can be frustrating as their checkout system is not efficient. There are long lines that move slowly and result in entry holdups for customers. The security guards try to manage this as best as they can. Otherwise standard Whole Foods line up of groceries and items.

I can't take it anymore. This Whole Foods is the worst I have experienced, consistently there are issues with the building itself. The escalators are out of service, the floors are wet, the ceiling drips some mysterious liquid... They have a horrible food bar that sometimes has no food especially in the morning, the replenishment here is slow. They are also typically low in stock or out of stock of many staple items. They also don't have any lunch specials consistently like other locations downtown. What is even worse is the staff at this location. There are never enough cashiers, the cashiers that are there are slow and rude. They rarely say hello in part because they are busy in conversation with the cashier next to them about personal issues. The line situation is a shambles and is very confusing since there is a huge beverage case that basically doesn't allow the line any space to grow. There are also unfriendly loss prevention people that never say hello no matter how many times you visit and are looming all the time looking at me as if I have the intention of stealing avocados. Thanks Whole Foods for finally coming to Harlem and offering a sub par version of your grocery store. I suppose I can just continue to go to 59th street where tourists and more affluent New Yorkers are provided a more pleasurable shopping experience.

I came here on a Wednesday at around 1:30pm. The lunch rush was there. This location is spacious with decent-sized empty area to help disperse the traffic and crowds. They also get great natural light on the ground floor. This is a multi-level Whole Foods (split between ground level and basement level), which I normally don't like. I prefer the whole store to be on 1 level. You have to deal with escalators, and this location doesn't seem to have shopping carts. Only baskets and wheeley baskets. I had trouble fitting all my groceries in the wheely basket which is annoying. On the bright side, the basement level, which has all the non-prepared foods, was quiet, calm, with low amounts of people. The hot food bars are the cheapest I've seen for WF at $8.99 / lb. The only location that rivals the hot food bar price is the Whole Foods 365 in Fort Greene. Columbus Circle hot bar food is $9.99 / lb. Bryant Park hot bar food is $10.99 / lb. But no dessert bar, like Columbus Circle has. Cookie Bar is same price here as other locations. $11.99 / lb. Olive Bar is same price here as Ofer locations $10.99 / lb.

First off let me start by saying I though Wholefoods coming to Harlem would be great but after several bad experiences I don't know if it was the right idea or is it just poor management??? I choose the latter. Let's start off with the smoothie station who either never has the smoothies or the folks who are making the smoothies are busy having conversations and moving so slow that the line begins to head out the front door. Next the salad station sure doesn't look like the Wholefoods near the Westside Highway very poorly maintained and the food is always the same. They used to have a different variety of foods like international types Indian, Asian etc. I think they cater to mostly soul food because it's Harlem we have soul food on every corner why not keep variety an option. Besides the sub par produce the worst thing is the lines they are always out the door it never fails. They need more cashiers isn't that why they opened this store to create more jobs? I never see a help wanted ads but something needs to be done about this. Also the way the registers are set up the columns block you from passing each other it's horrible.

Stopped here on a Sunday to pick up some lunch after my appointments. I ordered the arugula and tomato Sicilian from the pizza bar. The lines were super long, they have a good system in place, lines live fast.

I do NOT recommend to order food for delivery from this Supermarket. It has happened several times that I get expired items. What is more frustrating though is that sometimes those distracted shoppers do NOT deliver what it is in my list. Very annoying. Plus, they charge a lot for the service despite the fact I live 3 blocks away from the site. items come already packed; so, it is impossible to check what they are delivering, BUT, $10 for the service is already prepaid On the top of that, their items are much more expensive than any other local supermarket. I am afraid Amazon is taking advantage of the Covid

3/19/18 1:30 PM- whoever is incharged of managing the salad bars should be fired. Only very few products were labeled, and if they were labeled, they were labeled on the wrong items. Ex: Brussel sprouts, were labeled as Hard boiled eggs. Lol. Many more like that as well.I am someone who does not eat meat. And it was tough to tel which items had meat in them. Also, for someone with food allergies this is extremely dangerous. I am giving them 2 starts because it seems like the only descent fresh food in the area.

The check out lines are ridiculous. They go the entire length of the store from 125th to the front of the registers. Corporate greed cuts back on cashiers for profit.

I've waited for a while to give WholeFoods Harlem a review. To preface I've been a decade long Harlem resident and have been witnessing the rapid gentrification. I went there on the first day they opened and have been going at least once a week since then. (+) Nice (and much needed) addition to the neighborhood (+) Offers organic/healthy/fresh food options and many more alternatives for vegans (+) Cashiers are polite (+) baked goods & flowers and plants section (-) The dining area always has people who are squatting there, they had to add signs telling people about the max times allowed, and patrons only policy. However, I'm not sure anyone is enforcing it. (-) It's expensive for an area where the median income is $45K and 27% of the people live below poverty line. (-) The lines are long and there isn't always enough cashiers. (-) Buffet food offering. Some days I'm like you GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! Some days the entire hot buffet is variations of fried chicken. All was missing was some watermelon and Koolaid. It's almost insulting! I actually took a picture and complained. They sure wouldn't do that downtown.

Ok we all waited with anticipation for this location to open and my husband and I showed up on the first day eager to shop only 10 blocks from our home. The main thing we were excited about is the produce because we juice daily. Sadly, the most disappointing thing about this location is the produce. The greens are usually wilted, bruised, & turning yellow. It's very inconsistent. Yesterday we got what we could then went home and ordered FreshDirect. The customer service is very friendly and every time I ask a produce person to go in back to check for better stuff, they always do. Sometimes they come back and say that there's nothing better in back that what's out. Sad The lines are short and the cashiers are very nice that's why I gave 2 stars I was asked to email so they could follow up with me but all they did was send me a do not reply email and said they'd contact me if they needed more info ‍

Not surprised by the low rating for this store. Recently moved within Harlem, now too far from the Best Market on Frederick Douglass, so this became my new grocery store. At first I was excited, but after a few months, the sheen has definitely worn off. Unfortunately there are too few quality grocery stores in Harlem, and not enough competition -- otherwise this would not be my first choice. Why? It's expensive! There are random Prime member deals here and there, but they don't make up for the fact that most things feel painfully expensive -- I feel like I'm paying a big premium for no reason. Service is bad! I have noticed that the prepped food counter (where they serve prepared food and cuban or mediterranean sandwiches) is often unattended or understaffed. Coffee counter service was slow and unfriendly at my one visit there, and they were out of one of their menu items. We have encountered a few friendly checkout people at the main grocery line, but they are more often sullen, apathetic, and unfriendly. We have been double or over-charged more than once (once they overcharged by $8 for a package of biscotti). The people at customer service were unapologetic verging on churlish when we went to get the $ refunded. We now review our receipts closely every time. Difficult to eat in - there is a huge salad bar and a lunch counter, as well as two seating areas, but you'll likely be unable, or not want to sit here to eat the lunch you just bought. The bright spots: - you can grind your own fresh nut butter - good selection of nuts and dried fruits sold by weight (but again, expensive!) - huge selection of baked goods, including more unusual items, as well as a bakery counter with decent breads - salad/hot food bar has a good selection and the food is pretty tasty Give me any other conveniently located decent alternative (fairway!!! morton williams, food emporium), and I will abandon this WF.

The hot bar and salad bars are kind of lacking here (I usually end up getting pizza - which they weirdly sell by the slice here instead of pricing based upon weight like every other WF around - annoying) I have never actually ventured downstairs in the grocery area here. They close by the time I get out of work...so grocery shopping after I get out isn't happening. On the plus side: the lines to check out are never long when I go. Unfortunately their seating for eating (hey, that rhymed) is miniscule...I have yet to find an empty seat, so I take my stuff to go back to work.
