This Whole Foods location is very convenient for me, even for Amazon pick-ups. I always do my food shopping here for my organic products. The food is fresh and of great quality in all items. Sometimes the sales are good. Sometimes it is very crowded and has long lines; they have self-service and cashier registers. It moves pretty quickly sometimes. The staff are nice and polite. But it's worth it.

Whole Foods has a myriad of issues, price gouging (every day they earn their “whole paycheck" monicker) shelves so empty they are reminiscent of Soviet era Russia, the hot and salad bars run out by 6pm, “specials” that only work if you buy two perishable items like sushi or a whole large pizza at a store that mostly serves singles.
The cafe area seems to serve as a day room for the local mentally ill. On days it’s a safe day to eat there, there are rarely utensils or condiments. Local moms use the tables to change diapers or perch toddlers — the lack of utensils and salt pales in comparison.
While Whole Foods touts their “environmental friendliness,” single-use plastic abounds. Nobody needs to purchase produce, sandwiches, cookies, cake slices and other food in unrecyclable plastic clamshells. Bad for the planet and a likely source of nanoplastic consumption. It astounds me that someone who worries enough about nanoplastics to lug a large stainless steel water bottle will eat acidic foods out of plastic packaging.
In NYC a.k.a The Big Apple, at the height of Apple-season, a majority of their apples are from New Zealand and Washington State. I also spotted oranges from AUSTRALIA. Imagine the carbon expended importing an orange that far.
If you can shop elsewhere, you should.

Checkout clerks refuse to bag groceries
Recent policy changes mandated that if you're buying 15+ items, you can't use self checkout. But the checkout clerks don't bag your groceries! When checking out, I've handed the staff the reusable shopping bags which they push back towards me, and start scanning the items, leading to a large pile of groceries teetering on the counter, which I then have to quickly alternate between unloading my cart and bagging groceries to prevent any from falling off the counter. This has happened multiple times.
If the checkout staff don't have the low, low bar of actually bagging your groceries, what's better about having someone scan the groceries but making me bag, versus scanning and bagging groceries myself at self checkout‽

I work right opposite this location and I eat here very often. It is very sad to know that salt and pepper are not provided anymore for customers. If you do not want to leave packets in the eating area, you should at least leave them near the food stations so we could use them in our food!
Very cheap standard of not having the basic ingredients which could elevate your food!

Came to the store to order 1 Rotisserie chicken 🍗 and noticed the shelves were empty at 9am. After speaking with Pamela in the sandwich dept, she called downstairs and assured me that it will be on the shelf soon.
A few minutes later she placed 3 chickens on the shelf.

Perfectly stocked over two floors. Had everything I needed. Check out staff were helpful in suggesting I join Amazon Prime to receive a discount on several of the items purchased. Customer Service did what she thought was best not what I requested. Apologized and asked if I’d mind leaving what she’d done. I will go back as it’s near TJ Maxx and a Duane Reade. Also Home Goods. The fresh fruit was still good as I visited late near closing time. Moses a star as the security guard was smoking outside the entrance so I had to walk through the smoke to get into the store. Store was moderately clean. Fast and efficient. Staff. Shout out to ENMANUEL - helped me find a few items and a new alternative to one no longer sold. Polite and had a lovely welcoming smile. Offered to check for a different size but it was closing so I just bought the smaller one as I’ll return soon.
Sorry about the random item photos! I’m British and we don’t have as good a selection!

Meets the high bar of grocery stores you’d expect at a Whole Foods. I came here to pick up a package but ended up doing some shopping. The fish department clean and the staff were incredible (thanks Livio!!!) I wish I lived near this location, I’d come here all the time.

I use the Amazon Prime app in order to receive WholeFoods deliveries. I order for myself, and because of my address, my orders are shipped from the WholeFoods location at Columbus Circle (and for the most part - without incident). However, I also use the service for food delivery for my aging Mom, who lives closest to the West 97th & Columbus Avenue. Without fail - the deliveries arrive later than the selected time slot. There is never any notice to inform you of delays. I can count on one hand when the food delivery actually arrived on time. I will not go into the many times the prepared food spoils within a day - slimy fish and rancid cooked vegetables. They need to close down the location - do a major cleanup of the venue and staff. I’ll be taking my business to Fresh Direction and the soon-to-open, Wegmans.
