Whole Foods Market

Stopped in since I was in town and needed to grab some water and a deli sandwich. The store looked clean and well-kept. It’s your typical Whole Foods…nothing out of the ordinary, but reliable for what you expect. I’m not sure if they have a parking lot, so if you’re driving, finding a spot might be a little tricky since the area seems to rely on street parking. I walked from my hotel, so it wasn’t an issue for me. Overall, a standard Whole Foods experience and convenient for a quick stop.

This is a nice, large Whole Foods with tons of selection. The staff was friendly and helpful — shoutout to the security guard who made us feel especially welcome. It’s our go-to stop for snacks whenever we’re traveling.

Whole Foods is my comfort grocery store when I'm traveling and this one didn't disappoint EXCEPT for all the super security guards which made it seem like I'm in war zone. I sincerely hope this was not the store manager's decision.

My son & I went into Whole Foods today with a special request to pick up our Christmas meal order early! Shannon waited on us and she went way above and beyond to help us. She provided very friendly customer service and jumped thru numerous whoops to accommodate us. We greatly appreciate her and all her honest efforts!

Whole Foods need to get it together. Why are big dogs allowed in the store? Why does nobody stop this? Dogs should not be around food especially the salad bar it’s disgusting and unsanitary. It is clear Whole Foods does not care about the health of there customers that comes in and instead caters to dogs that are huge and who knows if these dogs are vaccinated. Absolutely disappointed and disgusting. DO BETTER! P.S I talked to the security up front about WHY they let dogs in and he basically said they don’t care. Like if you’re not a service dog get the OUT of the store. I’m so sorry you’re so emotionally underdeveloped that you have to take your dog everywhere as a safety net.

Beware of their new validated parking policy. If you're one minute over the 90 minutes you will pay the full day rate of $21 to exit the garage. It used to be that you could pay the overage at the hourly rate. Thanks a lot, Amazon. Way to appreciate your customers.

Great produce selection and everything looks beautiful. Really there is great selection all over the store: cheeses, beer, wine, spices, condiments, meats and seafood, etc . . . The store is clean, safe and employees are friendly. It isn’t the closest grocery store to me nor is it the cheapest but I do think it is the best quality for the price and I will drive out of my way to shop there.

Just came to town to visit. Haven’t been to a Whole Foods in YEARS! Closest one to me is 45 minutes away. The place was well kept & clean- staff was friendly & very helpful - William helped me find a few great gifts to bring back home!

This was a smaller Whole Foods. They offer free parking with the purchase of $10. The selection is slightly limited. We got some sushi, hot bar food, a sandwich from the cooler and a sandwich made. The staff is great. Everyone we encountered was super friendly. The food was decent, as expected. Overall, happy to have found this location when we were in the area.

My return visit to this Whole Foods Market in Portland's Pearl District was one of recent convenience. I had just left Powell's and decided that a sandwich and an adult beverage at the Hotel would be my dinner choice. I found a nice (and later very ample and tasty) pre-packaged sandwich across the store, and after self check out, I was on my way. I still don't understand how my Amazon Prime membership works here.......

Order: Salad Pros: fresh ingredients. Clean area. Cons: damn near hwy robbery for this salad. I paid $25 for a 2lb salad lol!!! I thought the salad was $11.99. However, it's 11.99 per lb. There us no scale to weigh your salad to ensure you have the quantity you want. But lessoned learned. I got to the counter and was damn shocked at the price. I could have made this salad for a fraction of this price smh.

I have fond memories of coming here when I first visited Portland, but now my visits are much more of the essential variety. While Portland's vegan options as whole continue to grow and impress me each vist, this Whole Food's is like most of the rest I've visited recently. Bakery and fresh vegan options have almost disappeared. Otherwise, I do enjoy the overall scale of the store and particularly the cool AC when it's a hot day. Service is usually fine--they seem to have cashier to busyness ratio's well under hand. Prices are still high--some things never change.

I live next door to Whole Foods and this is my go to grocery store. The meat deli at night I always come across a white guy with long hair that gives me a horrible experience, angry, making us customers feel stupid, thankfully I am not the first that have witness this but if anyone needs to get something from the meat deli I recommend it to do it during the day be for their shift change. But other than that Whole Foods is a good spot to get your groceries. I give the deli a one star review to its service.

Young lady checker, said Jordan on my receipt, rang up my items I had about 10 small items, didn't bring a bag in with me, nobody in line behind me, didn't offer to get me a small box, just left items on the counter, left it up to me to get items contained, just stood there, with a scowl on her face...I am a fairly regular customer.. 08/10/25

Like any other Whole Foods, a great place to get essential groceries and "healthier" snacks. There was a lack of vegan options at the hot bar during my visit but there were plenty of vegan-friendly sweets in the bakery section. The vegan cookies, mango and date flavors, were great. The mango flavor cookie was especially my favorite. Note to use your Amazon or Whole Foods app membership barcode to access discounts and save. However the payment options does not appear to work and you will need to manually swipe your credit card or pay in cash. Decent experience and would go again for everyday needs.

Stopped by here to grab two dinner entrees at the takeout section, which there's a deal of $10 for an entree plus two sides. They consider an item an entree if it has protein in it, while the rest are considered side items. In one box, I got curry chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and pesto pasta. In the second box was salmon (extra $2), brussel sprouts, and cauliflower with peas. The best was the curry chicken since there are large chunks of chicken that were covered in curry sauce. The curry flavor was mild and the chicken was tender. I wish the sauce was more evident so that the curry flavor would be more pronounced. The pesto pasta was also good since the penne was covered in pesto with sliced red bell peppers. The pasta was soft while the pesto was delicious, but wasn't as abundant as I hoped. The items that could be improved upon were the salmon and garlic mashed potatoes. The salmon was very dry and lacked flavor despite having seasoning on it. There were only two pieces, which were small portions especially if they're charging an extra $2. The garlic mashed potatoes did not have a garlic taste, but the garlic aroma was evident. I also would hesitate to call this "mashed" potatoes since it was very grainy almost like rice. It was pretty dry as well. You can find the Whole Foods garage parking next to the Chase bank. There's a minimum purchase of $10 to get your parking validated for 90 mins of free parking.

just ordered a sandwich, with mozzarella in it. The lady who prepared it, soaked the bread with the mozzarella water, then splashed everything, including the paper in it. She finally wrapped it on the puddle of water, and handed it to me. I asked her to change the wrap , then she changed it and wrapped it back into the splash, and on a big stain of pesto sauce. I told my wife this bread is going to look like a baby sucked it for three hours and I would not eat it. That was exactly the case. Five minutes later, when I unwrapped it, it was just like a sponge. And I threw everything away. When you hire people, you should hire people who have a little bit of wit in what they do.

Now that I'm finally a Prime a Member, thank you COVID-19, I shop at Whole Foods more frequently. Getting an additional 10% off sale items is really an incentive! This week they had short ribs, both flanken and English style, on sale for $5.99 which is $5.49 for Prime members. Since you can rarely find this cut for under $10 a pound, and the quality of Whole Foods meats is high, it's worth the trip just for this purchase! I bought some for dinner and some to freeze for braised short ribs when the weather gets cool and we are craving rich comfort foods. Since I typically shop in the Hollywood location, I'm often wandering around this store trying to figure out where my favorite items are! Wish Whole Foods had a consistent footprint. Several customer service reps assisted me, clearly seeing the lost look on my face, even though I was wearing a mask! Purchased several 365 items that I love - Tomato and Marscapone Tomato Sauce, unsalted tortilla chips, blackberry flavored seltzer water and a scone for breakfast. Definitely make sure to peruse their bakery section, the treats are worth the calories! Produce is gorgeous - fresh and delicious. It's odd seeing the massive salad bar area empty, but these are different times. In the past, picking up delicious hot ethnic items was an easy and delicious dinner. The parking lot entrance is one block down on SE 13th and it leads right under WF with elevator and stairs to the first floor. Spend $10 and the parking is free. Clean, well stocked store. Super friendly and helpful reps.

I go to this store fairly often and am always impressed by the cleanliness and the abundant fresh produce. However, something happened the last two times I was there that made my simple grocery trip a very unpleasant experience. I beg your patience as I have to tell the whole story for it to make sense. The last time I was there, I had only a few items and went to one of the open checkout registers behind one person who had quite a bit of stuff. The register light was on so I assumed it was open. After the cashier (whose name I later learned was Anissa) was finished with the man in front of me, she just told me that she was closed and I'd have to go to a different register. I had already been waiting for several minutes and now had to move all my stuff to another register, but I didn't complain at the time because it was not a big deal. Today, I went there again to stock up before the impending heat wave. I had a basket full of stuff and was approaching the registers. Two registers were staffed, one by Anissa (who had turned me away last time), the other by a different woman. The one staffed by Anissa did not have its light on, so I assumed that she was closing up. Just as I was approaching the other register, I saw Anissa look at me and take out a sign that said "closed" and put it on the conveyer belt. I am very sure about the sequence in which this happened, where she made it amply clear that I was not welcome at her register. But, as I was going to the other register anyway, I didn't react. However, as I was bagging up my groceries and paying, I noticed that Anissa was helping two groups of people after me, the "closed" sign had mysteriously disappeared, although her register light was still off. I don't usually presume to know people's motives for various actions, all I do know is that I was somehow targeted by Anissa even though I don't know her and don't recall any previous interactions with her, let alone disputes. Incidentally, I have never had any disputes with anyone inside this Whole Foods before, so I don't think I did anything to deserve this. It's hard for me, however, not to think that I was targeted because I'm a person of East Asian descent.

Food is fresh and great selection. Clean store and helpful staff but way over priced.

Also, Holly at the meat/seafood counter ... One of the sweetest, most helpful, pleasant people in whole foods!! Always steers us in the right direction, super helpful pointers on how to try new things. We've tried a bunch of stuff we probably never would have before! 10/10 for Holly!

I moved to Portland from Austin, Texas, where I was finishing up my degree. Before that I enjoyed years of nothing but positive experiences at every single location in Atlanta, and its huge metropolitan area. I even found myself defending the "overpriced" stigma that they once suffered. I was able to enjoy 3 ish years of stellar food and customer service at their flagship location as well as a few of metro Austin's other locations. So, this is actually fairly difficult, painful, and if you really want to get to it extremely disappointing to have to write the following: The Whole Foods on Couch in Portland, Oregon is not only the worst; both in quality of products and availability or selection, the customer "disservice" is not only poor, it's beyond reprehensible. I have a few items that I have to have from time to time, and I .... You Not; every single time that I go into the store on cooch Street located. In Portland, Oregon, not only have horrible customer service but the experience entity has me walking out not only disappointed, but angry every single time. I hate going into this particular store. The people that work there are absolutely awful; the things that go on there are unacceptable but nonetheless, tolerated by management . It's just absolutely ridiculous. I even called the corporate or district office in Portland to report an issue and the person who contacted me was so flippant and insulting that I just was beside myself. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially for this company since I credit them with changing the diets and the perception of food for many Americans, as well as the fact that most of my years of Whole Foods experiences, have had been positive , but I swear to you the negative experiences at this store have left a permanent bad taste in my mouth and I wish I didn't ever have to go into this store again. the self check out provides a very small loading and unloading platform rude staff treat customers like they are invisable way overpriced....same items can be purchased at safeway for less i have shopped here for 12 years....amazon has ruined wholefoods

Terrible customer service! Twice now!. The first experience I lost my phone there, completely rude. No employees could help me,they said they can't leave the area they work! Hardly any customers in the store. Now I call to see if they have a product in. Customer service said I called the wrong department and she transferred me to the right department 36 minutes still waiting.

I had to go to the bathroom while I waited for West Elm to open and learned before you have to buy something to use the restroom so I got a bottle of water and 2 cute cards in line sucked me in. Cashier was friendly. Service a little slow as both cashier lines were long. But I don't mind buying a water to use the bathroom, it is what it is and it's Portland so I get it. It is helpful the code is on the bottom of the receipt and smart on them my bottle of water and wait in line ended up in a bigger purchase since the cards were staring at me.

One checker at 6 pm On a work day and won't accept cash except with cashier, 13$ for a chicken wt

I get that people have bad days or long days but Tye I think is a manager and yet his ability to handle tough situations tonight was AWFUL, rude to both me and his co-worker who had made a human technical error and Tye kept saying with snarkyness how his coworker kept messing up, didn't know what he was doing , which might be facts but the attitude was completely unnecessary. I was more patient as a customer and grateful for my groceries than he was as a manager with his own system failing, his coworker making a human mistake, and taking it out me with attitude and not responding to my thanks for the assistance, for the fact that it was happening during my order and had me there, pregnant & hungry, for 10 extra minutes trying to check out running all over the store but HE was upset. I really hope he's not a manager, if he is he needs training for under pressure cause it was only 40% busy and everyone around us in line was being patient and not in a rush or upset about the wait, just Tye.

A nice natural foods market in Portland's Pearl District, with corporate headquarters in Austin Texas. This store recently added self checkout stands. Lots of fresh organic fruits and vegetables, organic and bird-friendly coffee choices such as Allegro, cold drinks, and smoothies (Columbia Gorge Organic Wild Blackberry). Nice for ice cold sparkling water cans during the hot summer months (strawberry, black cherry, watermelon, etc.). Count on Free WiFi, ApplePay acceptance, and well-lit spaces open until 9 PM. This Whole Foods store can be crowded at times, but it is usually good for different types of basic groceries.

I liked this Whole Foods and the people working there were super nice. The only things that I think could be better are the prices and self checkout. We got fresh seafood and I can't wait to make my garlic salmon.

OMG, I forgot to mention the wine selection, it's amazing! Better than any other store I know of. I like Pinot Grigio and when it's on sale, which is frequent, I can choose one bottle for $6.39 or another favorite for $7.19. You can't find this quality or their prices anywhere else!

Ahhh Whole Foods, you've got a nice little secret haven't you? Don't be coy! Let's tell the world! No? How about just the Yelpers then? Ok? You crafty little minx! I knew you'd want to share with our favorite people. That's why I love you... The secret? Inside there is a very chilled aisle that is basically a huge refrigerator for a huge selection of beer. Downright heavenly on a hot day, when you want a cold beer and a cool down! I'm never unhappy shopping here and they keep it neat with quick check out lines. Upstairs is a nice option to enjoy a quick bite and a coffee. Still, this is THE place on a super hot day!

I've got a big heart for beautiful grocery stores, and Whole Foods does so much right, it's easy to spend my time and money here. Always clean, well stocked and armed with mostly healthy, always creative ready to go meals, what's not to love? The people who work here are always helpful, efficient and friendly. One word of caution--and this is true of other grocery stores with hot food bars--around 5:30 pm, customers get aggressive with the grab and go. I get it. It's dinner time--gotta throw some elbows. Still, I'll always choose a happy hour over food bar aggression. I shop here afterwards.

Free parking, convenient amazon drop-off counters, and excess of snacks and fresh fruits. What's not to love about this place! I usually stop by about once a week to satisfy my tiramisu cravings. Their brownies are pretty tasty too; definitely better and cheaper than starbucks. As a prime member you get 10% off their weekly sales too which is nice! Highly recommend Whole foods, IMO it's cheaper than New Seasons, with a wider variety of foods!

I've been a customer at this store for 15 years. I miss Kathleen's management because I've noticed that new employees are hanging out talking and laughing together instead of working. Last two visits, there was only one cashier working. I saw the review claiming Kathleen was racially profiling a person shopping. I've seen her trying to stop the rampant shoplifting that I had witnessed. Sorry to see the store lost a really good manager on the word of someone who's misjudged her actions.

i love going to my local overpriced grocery store, especially when i have to walk past smelly homeless people lined up outside returning their cans and bottles for $3.36 so they can buy their drugs. such an amazing thing that whole foods is a part of. thank you whole foods for allowing bottle drop at your location, great idea! update: 5 stars. days after this review they moved their disgusting line of bottle droppers from the front of the building (and main entrance) TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING!!! WHERE THE ACTUAL BOTTLE DROP MACHINE IS!!! what a crazy concept, right? like how come no one actually thought to do that? i take full responsibility for this being done btw. maybe next they'll invest in power washing the space where the disgusting line was. if you think i'm being ridiculous, go to 12th and couch, the garage door looking side of the entrance and look down at the floor and you can see for yourself. clean it up jeff bezos

The service help is very rude and ineffective at there work.Very unpolite to me as paying customers. Whole Foods to me is overrated warm food quality services substandard I would not recommend going to the Burnside store.

Its not my first choice when it comes to grocery shopping however despite the unpopular bias towards the hot bar, I love it and have sometimes walked a fair bit of distance just to have the goodies from the self-serve section. Everything is fresh and there are plenty of options to choose -some healthy some not so and since there are a lot of fans like me for the hot bar the food comes in hot every few hours. I also love the snacks and ready to eat section which has some amazing finds at times. The variety of gluten free stuff that they store is also a great treat for gf folks as sometimes in spite of it tasting not as good as the real deal , you still want to splurge on your favorite junk food . They also have a great variety of local stuff - food , toiletries and plants etc that come in handy as gifts as well as for personal use. There is a lot of seating as well as free WIFI and they do have a nice selection of condiments ready to use near the seating section as well. One issues that I feel should be addressed by the management is that while the veggies are great and healthy option in the hot bar , eating paper stickers stuck on bell peppers is not the best of experiences . It has happened to me at more than one occasion and on informing the staff nearby the reaction was a non nonchalant shrug and a suggestion to get rid of the box and get a new one. Everything else at the store is fantastic and maybe a little bit better customer service would go a long way in improving the customer experience.

I recently moved to Forest Park. Yesterday I rode my motorcycle down from the mountains to the Pearl District. I stopped into this Whole Foods and returned an Amazon item, then did some light grocery shopping. I spent maybe $50 tops. After bagging all my items into my backpack at the register, took one last look on my receipt before tossing it. I knew I had a somewhat long ride home and decided to use the restroom before leaving. I asked the closest clerk for the restroom code. They said it's on your receipt to which I responded that I had thrown it away. So I went up to customer service and the lady whom I greeted with "hello, pardon the interruption....I was hoping you could provide me with the restroom code?" (Not even how I talk, I was trying to be as polite as possible) and immediately she looked like she was having an angry aneurysm. She huffed and puffed and blew her dignity & professionalism away. She met me back there to unlock it and said shit else. I thanked her to which I received some sort of noise in return, possibly English, not comprehendible. It's a bathroom. I am a paying customer. Learn how to be at work.

No vegan options at the hot bar. They had three versions of mashed potatoes and they all had milk. What?!

It's ridiculous that they won't give you a bathroom code unless you buy something first. I understand having a code, we're in downtown but I'm a regular person needing to pee before I start my shopping. Every employee I asked said the same thing, and kind of rudely too. For costumer only, it's at the bottom of your receipt. What if you're in the middle of your shopping and need to use the restroom? Buy an item first then you can use the restroom. Then you can continue your shopping. Or what if you need to pee before your shopping? Terrible customer service.

Here i am again to complain about this WF. The baguette sandwiches are just getting smaller and smaller and smaller while you pay exactly the same amount. 8 bucks for what you see in the picture. it used to be much bigger. I am done buying in this WF. Period. Also, it does not help AT ALL that the staff that make the sandwiches (usually new staff) are passive aggressive. I told the man that made this sandwich the following: "excuse me, that sandwich looks very small to me for being the Whole one option". The guy then just defends himself rather than trying to make the customer happier and responds: "not at all, this is the normal size for baguette" and then he added "so, do you want this or not?" Honestly, paying 8 bucks for this little amount of food is nonsense, but having to deal with some of these "know-it-all" employees that got offended when you simply raise a question is unacceptable. i should NOT feel intimidated at any store by anybody that works there. I would suggest that the baguette is cut using a ruler, no kidding, because each of the employees cut it completely different, but all for the same price. It's like going to buy a car model X and depending on the seller they give you one that is broken, or that has no steering wheel and other seller gives you the one that you deserve for the price. It's ridiculous. And this has started being a thing for a bunch of my co-workers that keep complaining that some of the baguette sandwiches are being cut smaller and smaller each time. As i said, i will not purchase anymore sandwiches from this WF ever.

Came here to get a snack. Everything is super clean and stocked perfectly. There are a lot of organic options. Everything is very expensive but very fresh. Short lines. Great store but pricey

Stick to the stuff along the walls and you'll do fine! Produce, Seafood, Olives, Cheese, Deli, Bakery.... the fresh-R stuff, positioned along the outer wall of the store. Somewhat expensive, so keep your brain engaged! You are being worked hard at this place, the smells, the sights.... go ahead, spend, spend!!! Ignore the markup! I think their pizza is only fair, but the seafood and bakery items are my faves, they're excellent! Always an interesting place to look around. Bring any extra cash you have lyin' around.

wfm always has the best selection regarding vegan and vegetarian options. very clean and social distancing was encouraged, as were masks. customer service is consistently top notch which is why i still shop at wf. overall a great experience.

Capacious......it's the word that first comes to mind because of the corner spot. Plus, the sliding doors opening up to pedestrian sidewalk also makes it seem larger. Cant tell you how many times i've gotten my 2 "free hours" of parking with validated purchase. The Shikai Yuzu and EO Lavendar products are what I opted for. Store is very large, and upstairs boasts the classroom kitchens (y tambien, el bano!) Nice lively feel when walking inside. From the parking garage underground (access from 13th is it? B/t couch and davis) you will ascend some stairs, and voila! Welcome to the jungle! The urban jungle that is.....the PEARL! PS WF has recently begun this stellar program of world assistance, partnering with the developing countries from which they get their products. This also does include a few domestic locations too. WF covers the overhead, and 100% goes to funding microloans to these areas. Awesome to know, and please please support helping WF help give others a hand up!

Why has the sandwich bar been consistently closed? Even before that, they'd be out of things like spinach for weeks, which is pretty absurd. Used to be an acceptable lunch spot but not anymore now that the sandwich bar is closed, and there's very few vegan items in the hot food bar.

"The Supper Club" Attended their first World Cuisine Supper Club event, a collaborative dinner by the different Healthy Cooking coaches from their different store branches. The 5-course meal focused on cooking with whole foods --free of dairy, meat, egg, refined sugars, and milk. To show attention and care and thought in making a dish elevates a meal in and of itself. It was a delightful dinner. The African Peanut soup that had a kick to it and the rum poached banana in the dessert were my favorites. Looking forward to future supper clubs.

What's up with this store racially profiling folks? I came here to leave a bad review after my wife was followed around the store today and I saw a number of other reviews describing similar situations that had occurred over the last few years. She was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by a man who was not wearing a security uniform or whole foods uniform, nor did he have a shopping basket. He trailed her through the isles the whole time she shopped and starred at her. This is our neighborhood store and we shop here a few times a week. Sad to say we no longer feel comfortable shopping here, and will be asking our friends and family to boycott the store as well. Also, it seems like a super inappropriate time to be blatantly profiling people like this. I bet it's the same undercover shopper who's causing all of these problems. Way to let your security workers impose their own racial bias on paying customers!

I love this Whole Foods in the trendy Pearl District. It is just a block away from Powell's and two blocks from the Portland Streetcar line. It is also just a block from Burnside and a short walk to downtown. The big point thus is that it is convenient. Yes, Whole Foods can be whole paycheck. You need to watch what you are buying here. However, their products are great. I was not feeling so well when I headed to the store to get some supplies. My stomach was feeling a bit messed up, which is a burden when you are traveling away from home. Thus, I went looking for some yogurt here to settle my middle down. The thing that struck me is how the Portland selection of goods is different than in Seattle. That is understandable since local products make up a good part of the store. I did find a Canadian yogurt here that was some of the best tasting I have had. Wonder why they do not have this in Seattle. The yogurt and a ginger drink that I got did some miracle work. As for their prepared selection, I thought it was pretty good. A little different than in Seattle. I tend to see more prepared pastas and salads. However, I did like they have a lot more prepared foods that are value priced. They had a nice chicken caesar wrap that was decent sized and cheap. In addition, I was impressed by their bakery selection. I like that they carry Pearl Bakery loaves. That came in handy as the day I stopped by, the Pearl Bakery retail store down the street was closed due to the Memorial Day holiday. Thank goodness Whole Foods sells some of their breads. They were fresh too. That is some good multigrain bread. Overall, the selection here is good. Prices are a bit pricey, but it is of good quality. And most important is that this location is really convenient to many of the tourist hot spots in Portland.

Yes, I know. Whole Food is the organic food evil giant. Well then, sue me for adoring this particular location. It's too darned pretty not to love it. From the flower selection displayed at the entrance to the food by the pound bar that features tofu served 5+ ways, Asian green beans and noodles and 4-5+ soups (in addition to the 4+ soups sold in the seafood section =gumbos, chowders, Thai soup, etc.). Special note/experience: I kept saying along the journey that I wanted to have a west coast-based cheese board but failed to actually make it happen. Lo and behold, the friendly man behind the cheese counter allowed me to lob off a $1.21 wedge to help ease the pain. What a sweetheart. I highly recommend peaking your head in for some quick fruit on the go or purely out of curiosity.

And I thought I was just going to waltz in choose from the typical Whole Foods fabulous array of piping hot pizzas. WRONG! There was wrinkled up piece of something that probably used to be a handsome slice of pepperoni back in the day. They didn't forget the vegetarians; there were a couple of pieces of petrified, shriveled-up vegetarian for you. Come on, how long do they let this stuff just sit there? The guy behind the counter promised some fresh cheese coming up in 10 minutes. So 20 minutes later, I get soggiest, greasiest excuse for a piece of pizza I have ever seen in my life. I would have been better off buying one of those crappy little .99 pizzas and putting my own stuff on it. There was just no eating this crap. Whole Foods did give me my money back. This isn't the first time I have had to ask for my money back. I go to the deli from time to time and have ordered things like the salmon which was terribly dry and for the price, I expect something succulent. Money back. There is a tofu and broccoli dish that disappointed as the broccoli was inedible...money back. Not everything is dire, the salad bar always looks fresh, clean and well stocked but salad bars bore me. Alas, I spent my entire evening pining for a slice of pizza, broke down and went to Rocco's.

We made a stop at the Whole Foods Market, because we are smart and like to stock up our favorite things for the fridge in our hotel room. I loved the walk in beer cooler. We found ourselves in there for like 15 minutes comparing beers we had, ones we wanted to try and checking out labels. Total Beer Nerds. I found one of the ones I was looking for, the Burnside Brewing Company "Sweet Heat". Although we were going to go to the Brewery in a couple days, I jumped the gun and we bought a bottle for our room. It's by far, one of the most interesting combinations of Apricot and Scottish Bonnet Peppers. I highly recommend the beer, hanging out in the beer cooler and Whole Foods all together. They have a nice selection of local and domestic craft beer.

I have been coming to order trays here for years. I had noticed the last few times that that quality had gone down. For example 1 sprig of Rosemary as a garnish on a bread platter , why even bother. Out of habit I went in this morning to order a couple small trays for tomorrow. The guy said he would go in back to get someone to help me. Meanwhile there were 4 people behind the deli counter having a personal conversation not doing anything. After a few minutes of waiting he young man came back and said " ya , um , we are too busy to do anything for you, sorry " .. after a couple seconds of shock I left and went up street to Zupans. Not only did Zupans take my order they customized a tray to match up with what I normally get at Whole Foods. I'll never set foot into Whole Foods again, sad how Amazon ruined a good thing

The only thing I remember about this Whole Foods Market is the freezing cold walk in beer fridge. Selections here are decent but maybe a little pricier than other places: a dollar or 2 on some of the bottles. Hot table selection though a little meh, at least nothing good enough and delicious looking enough that caught my eyes. But I should not complain too much since there's iced cold beers here, great to pick up some on the way back to my hotel!

This is a great local grocer located in the Pearl district. I have found their produce to be really fresh, and can typically find those hard to find items. I love the olive bar & salad bar. Both are full of lots of options. The grocery store has a restaurant area that always seems to be busy, as well as bakery. I had a need to pick up a last minute cake, so I ran to Whole Foods. It was not only beautiful, but fresh and delicious. Some other items you can find- beautiful flower bouquets, plants and great cheeses to choose from. -Amazon pickup and return center. Also- they offer free parking. Entrance is on 13th, across from Von Ebert Brewing.

A star for all 5 best attributes of my neighborhood Whole Foods - the beautiful organization of fresh goods in the store / the deli's super delicious culturally diverse variety hot/cold salad bars / the convenient parking below in a busy part of town / the Amazon folks upstairs who handle my mail with care, speed and accuracy no matter how many packages I bombard them with / the Amazon Prime discounts and cash back for being an Amazon card holder. Wins for me all around.
