Lazy A maintains an amazing inventory of organic products. The produce is always fresh and plentiful. Our favorite is the sustainable fish. It's as if it was just caught. Need a suggestion on options for the right variety and ways to prepare it. They have it. They're section of organic health and wellness products from vitamins, supplements, hair and skin are absolutely the best. They back this up with a very knowledgeable team of well informed staff.

Usually, we don’t shop here because Lazy Acre/Seaside is more convenient to us. But we came to this Whole Foods today to return an Amazon package, so why not shop a little? For my entire life, I’ve never seen a pineapple box filled with nothing but the core. In one box, you get some pieces of the core that were totally fine, but a whole box of cores and barely any fruit meat, seriously?? This never happened with other grocery stores before, so we won’t shop here ever again.

I visited Whole Foods in Del Mar during a trip. The store is clean, well-organized, and offers a wide selection of healthy foods. I found coconut milk without any gums, which I couldn’t find anywhere else. Prices are reasonable for the quality, especially compared to other health-focused grocery stores. Parking outside was limited and crowded, but the free garage parking was a great alternative. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for fresh, healthy options, this store is worth a visit!

Google
I originally came here to return some thing from Amazon for a friend, but noticed all the fresh produce so I had to stop and get some things. I was really impressed by the fresh fish department. Everything looks extremely fresh and I couldn't smell any sign of fish or cleaners. They had several varieties of fresh wild, caught fish, as well as farm raised. The wild caught sockeye salmon was previously frozen but looked like it had just thawed. There was a variety of breads at the baked goods section but they didn't have a fresh loaf of sourdough or French like Vons has. If you'd like salad, this is the place to go. They had all kinds of fresh, organic greens ready to go. They also had a nice hot bar in salad bar. In the front there was a variety of grab and go fresh meals. The service was top-notch. Parking was a little tight but they had plenty of handicap spots and they also have grocery pick up spots available.

Google
Right off the 5 and Del Dios Highway back to Lake Hodges. I even found parking at 5 pm. They had their Christmas wreaths out, yummy fresh food inside and really nice self check out spotters. Their frozen cauliflower crust pizzas are sized right and super delicious.

Google
ONE OF OUR FAV STORES ! My wife and I pop in here almost every Saturday to pick up my craft beer plus other hard to find quality stuff. Love the under cover multi level parking lot. Thank you helpful John in the charcuterie for locating the hard to find Tzatziki for my wife's Greek Chicken Pita Sandwiches for dinner that night. SERVICE IS ALWAYS GOOD !

Michael L.

Google
I went to the Whole Foods market in Sedona, AZ. They had a wonderful café with fabulous lattes. I had every speciality latte over a week. Not only were they superior to Starbucks in quality, but less expensive! I am so happy we have a Whole Foods in San Diego; their coffees are a treat!

Sean G.

Google
Of course this Whole Foods market is outstanding. It’s just like all the others. What I like best about this store is that there is an easily accessible parking garage. No reason to drive around the parking lot. Tons of parking in the clean, safe parking garage, where you can be sheltered from the sun or rain. Great experience as always.

Yelp
I love this Whole Foods. First off, parking is pretty easy right in the parking lot of the shopping center. Though it's in a pretty busy shopping center and there isn't a ton of extra or open parking spots, I have never waited more than a few minutes for a parking spot. This is a big Whole Foods and they have all the usual food bars. There is so much variety. The store is clean, and the quality of the food is superb. I also have found most of the employees to be helpful and professional at this location.
google avatar

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Thanks @jeffbezos for ruining one of my fav stores since college. The online order pickers, lack of stock and disregard for who your customer base is is outstanding! Bye @wholefoods! You're no longer in tune with the folks who made you great. I couldn't get out of there fast enough...

Ab H.

Yelp
The checker was clearly sick and still working. I complained on my way out to someone from customer service who said "yeah I won't go near him, I'll tell the manager there has been a complaint". They know and keep him interacting with customers?!
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
We shop here all the time. Can't believe I've never reviewed it! Great shopping center. Friendly people (been coming here for so long we know of few of the folks who work here by name). Clean food and well organized place. Many other good restaurants and other amenities very close by too! Hard to ask for more.
google avatar

Carlin T.

Yelp
This is one of the smaller Whole Foods I've been to, but it still has everything you need! The Whole Foods near me in AZ is much bigger, but I wish it had the same broad selection of bakery items and desserts as this one! I really appreciate how this Whole Foods still feature items from local/SoCal businesses.
google avatar

Teddy C.

Yelp
I found my bread but today we went to Cosco and found two for the price I usually pay for 1loaf but there r things that I still like from Whole Foods like the cheese it has cranberries in it great as a spread. I mix it with a lil mayo and some jalapeño juice then I spread it on my toast add my meat and cheese any it's marvelous

Yelp
After brunch I decided to do some grocery shopping. This Whole Foods Market is really clean and their prices were very reasonable. I took a peak at their hot foods section and everything looked really good. Too bad I had just eaten! Their build your own salad bar had many options and the ingredients looked really fresh. I was hoping to find Calabrian Chili but was disappointed that I wasn't able to find it. Aside from this, I found what I was looking for and really liked this market! It's super clean!

Youness H.

Yelp
I recently had a disturbing experience at your establishment. After attempting to pay for my food at a self-service machine that wasn't working, I used a nearby machine to complete the transaction and received a receipt. However, while I was eating outside, an employee approached me in a confrontational manner, claiming I hadn't paid. When I showed him my receipt, he didn't apologize or seem concerned. Instead, I had to ask for a manager. The person who came to address the issue didn't appear to take my complaint seriously, responding with a dismissive 'so what?' when I explained what happened. I found this response unprofessional and unacceptable, especially given the public nature of the accusation. I hope you'll look into this matter and take steps to improve your customer service and employee training. The guy that claimed to be a manager was a heavyset with long beard Just called and found out his name is Phil. He s a supervisor but introduced himself as a manager. Now I understand why bn accused of stealing is not a big deal to him.

Yelp
Big store, lots of convenience from frozen croissant dough to shredded zucchini pasta to fresh bread and a bread slicer. Been able to have a healthy meal for under $5 such as a small piece of smoked salmon with honey glazed and a cherry limeade juice. This store is bustling with Amazon personal shoppers as they are the go to personnel for finding items. Friendly staff for the most part. Dodge the parking lot and head to the covered parking garage. I enjoyed the live music in the courtyard and the sound of parakeets nearby. This store by far is the nicest and prices for eggs at the cheapest is $4.99!

Yelp
John (manager) & Lilly (amazing hot bar/pizza maker) THANK YOU!! John was kind enough to take the time to answer questions for me about past items carried and past vendors, as well as being concerned of the quickness of my hot food being prepared and anything else I needed. Thank you John for being amazing! That Store is very lucky to have you!! Lilly, thank you for being so sweet and putting up with so many crazy families needing full pizzas and my little needs of just wanting a few slices. You were so on top of it! Friendly, patient, kind, and you make great pizzas with extra love and care.!! The Store is also very lucky to have you! Xoxo Mira :)

Yelp
I do think Whole foods is a good establishment. This location is in a very busy spot. So I'd be prepared for having to hunt for parking if you are trying to park within close promixity. They do have a parking structure available. Lots of healthy food options. Good open food bar and open counter options. As well as a pizza counter. You can buy pizza by the slice. One slice for $4.99 or two slices for $8.00 dollars. I would say that the pricing for most stuff is expensive. Sometimes you do find good 50% off items. And if your a prime member with Amazon you'll get an additional percentage off when you check the app and use in store code and apply that at check out! Your welcome.
google avatar

James N.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Alexis at the meat counter was horrible. I walked up and he walked away. When he did come back, he wasn't listening to me and was on his phone. When I talked to a manager, some short guy named Mark told me to not shop here anymore. I was very offended. I will never spend money here again.
google avatar

Athletic G.

Yelp
This Whole Foods has switched to self checkout. I refuse to use self-checkout when shopping, checking in at the doctor's office, etc., even if the is a line or I am encouraged by staff to use self-checkout. I want a live person to help me. I want people to have jobs, not be replaced by a self-serve checkout. Every time we succumb to using self-check-out we are putting jobs at risk. I gave three stars instead of one because they take Amazon returns and have live people behind the counter to process them.

Vincent D.

Yelp
Best store when it comes to produce and healthy products, love this place, but don't like how far I have to drive to the nearest one to my home.

Geoff B.

Yelp
If you have a lot of disposable cash then this is the place to go. Still outrageously expensive.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
A little crammed compared to other Whole Foods but still the same experience. As others have mentioned I would recommend the back parking structure. Everything is clean and well sorted as is standard for Whole Foods. Good location just a little crammed
google avatar

Romina T.

Yelp
Came by this location to drop of my Amazon package and pick up a few snacks for a road trip. Love that they have a kiosk for Amazon and it was so quick and easy. The store is very well organized and clean with helpful staff to guide you in the right direction!

Renee J.

Yelp
Nobody was at the pizza area so had to wait about 5 minutes. Employee could barely understand English. Picked up a nice loaf of bread but no bags for it and couldn't find anybody around to help. For the prices the crap level of customer service is a freaking joke.

Samantha K.

Yelp
We've been shopping for years and the last year or two the employees have become unbearable. From rude comments to being condescending or mocking people. I think they forget that they are, in fact, grocery store employees. It's impossible to get help or answers. The deli loves to sit on their phones, the cashiers are rude, and last time I was there I asked where a product was and was told by your herbal section that doesn't exist. I'm a Doctor and positive the supplement exists.. and found it shortly after. Only for them to say "well that must be new" (it's berberine). If you're going to be rude at least be knowledgeable. The quality of food and employees is truly abysmal. Shop elsewhere.
google avatar

Robert T.

Yelp
Great resource for us vegans, but please try to remember to have at least one vegan soup available at the hot bar.
google avatar

Duck D.

Yelp
Definitely come here if you want to deal with an understaffed place and wait in a huge line to overspend on under quality foods. Like this is your place if that is the name of your game!
google avatar

Yelp
100 stars for miss Lisa at the kiosk shipping!!! She was so wonderful and my fiancé was so happy with the service he asked me to give her a really Good review! Thank you miss Lisa! Hope you get the raise you deserve

Yelp
I really wanted to put 1 star solely because of the smoothie I ordered this morning which tasted like a SALAD in a cup, but since this impacts the store as a whole I'll put 3. I ordered the green and glowing smoothie this morning with +kale & collagen protein. Unfortunately it was disgusting. The green and glowing is not supposed to taste like this and I know this because I order it all the time and at this specific location I had one woman make it and it was sooo good. Im just very disappointed because now my breakfast and money is down the drain
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
Their pizza is delicious! Tastes like restaurant quality pizza. I got the cheese, which had sweet sauce and a good amount of cheese. The garlic ricotta pizza was absolutely delicious. The dough they made it with is amazing! Love that they offer 50% off on ready to eat food items that are on the sell by date rather than throwing them out. Tried the bistro pasta salad, was very good with lots of dressing.

Yelp
It's not a big store, considering the size of other Whole Foods. The biggest one I've been to is in Virginia, where it's pretty much the size of a Costco. But considering all the other Whole Foods I've been to in California, this is one of the smaller ones I think. However they seem to have most of everything I need. The one thing that I did find exciting is the Chia Pudding bar. I've actually never seen one before. Overalll, it's a bit cramped. I didn't get a chance to spend too much time there since I was in a time crunch. I hope to go back and walk every aisle more. My only complaint is that it's so damn far. San Diego needs more Whole Foods. I moved to SD from Pasadena, where there were 2 Whole Foods in that one city alone. I just wish they opened one more inland, towards the Poway area.

Yelp
I have been a VERY LOYAL customer to WF. I have had it with this location of Wholefoods Countless times I finally decided to voice my concerns. I have been eating here LJ for 20 years. Tho this location has been a horrible experience time after time. Last month after eating 1.5 pounds of salad/ hot bar I was up until 5:30 Am vomitting from food poisoning I had never been so sick in my entire life. The next day I called and sent a picture of the food I still have got no correspondence. Lack of care and loyal customer service. Tonight I decided to get the closed meals and the deli counter WHICH they were out of EVEYTHING so I picked up the ready made meals I opened it and noticed it smelled bad my first bite SLIMY and it had gone rancid. This is not okay I wouldn't expect this from WF we pay more for reason and trust we are eating good food. How this has never happened in other grocery stores and Im a daily grocery shopper. This store really needs serious health standards I regret trusting them again and again. Absolutely disturbing.

Yelp
I had to stay in San Diego area for 6 weeks while girlfriend had medical procedures done, so this place was an absolute life saver. Great selection of pizzas, hot foods, salads, soups, and desserts. It is a huge store and I wish I had a kitchen to cook in as I found so many items that looked so good. But since I was restricted to a hotel room, I found plenty of options to buy, saving me a ton of money from eating out all the time.

Fran S.

Yelp
Whole Foods has a new list of sales every Wednesday. In the past, I have been able to go anytime during that week and get access to these specials. As of the last two weeks, they have not had 4 out of 5 of the items they advertised. Its almost like bait and switch! I have tried to convey this to the powers that be, but there is no email access to any of the execs.
google avatar

KarissaGrace L.

Yelp
This location is A LOT- the employees are kind, helpful, and, knowledgeable; the layout of the store is quite inefficient- I truly do not know why they have not yet taken over the former Pier1 space across the street, and make the current location an AmazonGo as the volume of 'shoppers' for Pick-Up and Delivery Orders is suffocating for the space.

April L.

Yelp
This place has the best bakery around the neighborhood and perhaps in all of San Diego. I bought their famous fruit tart and it was topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries with other fruits on a crème in a flaky crust that was so fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Yasamine P.

Yelp
Great Whole Foods location. Easily accessible off the 5, although parking can get a little tricky. They do have a parking garage but I usually just circle once or twice and park in front. Store is well organized and clean, and staff is very friendly. Great smoothie bar as well

John S.

Yelp
I tried this gelato and wow is it good! I can't believe it tastes so good. Highly recommend 100/100 I can't wait to try the other flavors too.

Randall ..

Yelp
Christian in the cheese department- can't say enough great things about him. Stayed late to help with a large order. So helpful.
google avatar

Holly M.

Yelp
Wonderful selection of glutenfree and paleo groceries. Everyone at check out is friendly. Their produce is the best. If you're looking for greens for you or your bunnies , they have the best selection.
google avatar

Yelp
For a Whole Foods, in La Jolla, you'd think the experience will be supreme. Wrong! At least for my husband and I. We came in on a Sunday morning and it was packed. The prices are outrageous for meats especially... but I get it, it is Whole Foods. While inside, my husband was approached by a religious study man who took maybe a good 15 min preaching to him. And in the parking lot there was an elder woman asking for money and groceries. There are plenty of broken fridge handles and plenty of rude employees who won't say "excuse me" or at least "move". They'll go in front of you trying to shop for online orders. Lastly, I bought "freshly packed" pomegranates and when I got home I took a handful in before realizing they were slimy and expired... they tasted like acrylic paint. The taste was awful! I read the date and yup, they were packed the same day we bought them (25th). $10 wasted on a tiny bit of pomegranate. Never again.
google avatar

Nadia G.

Yelp
I enjoy shopping at this Whole Foods. They have a great selection of just about all groceries and some are unique items you can only get there. Fruit and veggies are always fresh. You can also get a nice meal here.
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
I love Whole Foods! It can definitely be pricey, but they have some good sales from time to time (just keep an eye out!). I often get their smoothies and frequent their hot food corner. For Amazon Prime members, sometimes they have a $5 special for their vegetarian tempeh sandwich which is SO good!! (Add mustard, arugula, and picklessss) All of the stuff here is high quality (and often times better tasting) and I feel good about feeding it to my family! Don't get the chicken though. The chicken is so expensive here
google avatar

Taura G.

Yelp
Great deli section with many options for a meal. We went in early at 9am and flind that there are no hot breakfast options in the deli. We were looking for the sandwich deli counter to have some bacon, sausage, avocado, egg, etc. breakfast sandwiches. Also, the deli workers were not eager to greet us at all; none of them had a "good morning" or a "good morning, can I help you find something?" or a "Good morning, can I prepare something for you?" There were about 6-7 deli counter workers, and 3 people (including my daughter and I) perusing the area; not one greeting. We settled for 2 pizza slices for breakfast. The pizza was tasty for our road trip. I would probably not come back based on the cold feel in the deli area.

Yelp
Sqweaky clean down every isle. Bright lights Large displays. Outdoor patio seating/dining. Complimentary hand wipes at each entrance and tons of carts neatly placed. This store is very organized and it shows The fresh food section offers up some damn food meals at reasonable prices... if you like to eat per pound lol. The lot is never full which makes it convenient when compared to other grocery stores. I've noticed since being aqcuired by Amazon there have been more people picking up food as a service for delivery. It's good to know if you have Prime, you can save an additional 10% off most products. I'll be back again for sure when in the area. Price. Value. Selection. Nobody really comes close. Whole Foods is doing something right. If only they can open up more stores!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Originally founded to bring natural foods into supermarket layout, Whole Foods Market offers a large selection of organic, gluten-free, and vegan products. I often stop at this location out of convenience before work to grab some fresh-baked pastries. The vegan donuts and cookies are delicious and flavorful without the bland, dry taste common in other vegan desserts. There are also many vegan options, including sushi, soup, salad, and daily prepared foods. While I do not typically purchase groceries from Whole Foods, I often visit this location for pizza! Vegan flavors are always promising, including buffalo chicken and pineapple bacon! Additionally, the cookie sandwiches from the bakery department are absolutely outstanding! Whole Foods can be a little pricey, but the quality is always superior.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with a whole foods and this place is no exception. Good ready made food, prices are reasonable. The only complaint I have is the parking lot is usually a train-wreck, it's why I don't go there more often.

anna e.

Yelp
I love going to this Wholefoods. The Flower Hill plaza has a very nice vibe and appealing landscape.I always find parking on a sunday on the busiest day and time. I go straight to the deli section where you'll find delicious salads. List of my favorite salads that I have to get on a regular basis. Kale Salad Brocolli with bacon, cashew & raisins Corn with arugula Sonoma chicken salad Smoked mozzarella pasta salad For Protein Teriyaki tofu with sesame Teriyaki salmon Rosemary chicken Chimichurri beef Veggies Brussel sprouts Baby Broccoli Deli staff Larry is awesome! He made recommendations for new items like the kale salad and corn with arugula which are super delicious. I mentioned to him that I'm not from this area and he asked me if I have a cooler to keep the items fresh. I'm prepared for my shopping but a caring staff is priceless. What I love about shopping here is the food is fresh, ready and it just takes 2-3 minutes and you'll have a wonderful meal. They sell quality food. I compare the price versus going to a pricey restaurant. If you have 2 huge meatballs and a serving of kale salad, My total meal is under $8. It might not be for everyone but for me it works!

Yelp
I think a sign that I'm getting older is that I'm starting to like Whole Foods haha. I usually don't shop here for groceries but I stopped by to grab some goods. I used to not really like Whole Foods but I changed my mind about them when I visited the newly opened Whole Foods in Malibu over the summer. I was surprised with their variety of fancy cheese options that aren't offered at other grocery stores. I was also pleased with their wine selection. Whole Foods did a good job minimizing the amount of customers in the store during this pandemic. One of their employees had a counter and was letting people in one at a time. They also provided sanitizer wipes for the shopping carts. Also, just be aware that right now they are not accepting cash and only accepting card to minimize the spread of germs which is good. My favorite thing that Whole Foods carries is this special cheese called Brillat Savarin! It's super hard to find anywhere else in California, I've only seen it at one winery in Napa. I first fell in love with this cheese when I was living in Paris. My friend introduced it to me there and I've been obsessed ever since! It's similar to a brie, and it's very very creamy! The thing I was looking for specifically was Mango Powder to make Mango Green Iced Tea but they didn't have it. I did however find mango juice and it ended up working out. Great store, good selection. I will return for my cheese needs!
google avatar

Natalia M.

Yelp
A clean store with an even friendlier staff! They often have better prices than my local vons for organic items, which is why I shop at Whole Foods so often. This will be my new go to location. Easy in and out and not to busy around 7:30 at night. A lot of quality stuff too. I love how often they include local companies food. Lisa helped me at the register and she was a gem. She seriously made my night. I'd go back here just to see Lisa lol.
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
This local store has something wrong with the food they sell. Three times I've gone shopping & each time I get warm, old food. The yogurt has a green fuzzy slime on it - returned it. The next trip the pastry was old & tough. Then I bought a premade salad from positive food company & it was slimy & had an expiration date one week out from the date I got it. Don't know if I'll ever be able to eat salad again. What I do know is that there are problems at this store. There's plenty of competition & I'll not do business with them again.
google avatar

Nell C.

Yelp
Came here on Columbus Day 10/11 at 1:56pm and bought the Kika Spc Tekka Don 13 and tofu spring roll and it made me sick with food poisoning. Please be very cautious of the sushi counter that some of the fish is NOT FRESH FISH.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Mitch & Jeremy saved the day after our catering misorder, we messed up,.they stepped up!.Great work thank you
google avatar

Frances A.

Yelp
I am here almost everyday because it is my neighborhood Whole Foods. Most of the workers are friendly and all are ready to help out. The fish selection is top notch and are at good prices. I like the fish and seafood here (both fresh and frozen) much better than Sprouts, Lazy Acres, or Trader Joe's. There is even a make your own poke bar. The poke is better than Lazy Acres and Costco. The deli selection can bore me at times because I am there too often I think. But the salad bar always has something that I can pile into a container for lunch or dinner. For breakfast, the choices are not as varied day to day. Parking in the front can get packed due to it being shared with the shoppes in the strip mall. The parking garage is rarely full so it's good to head straight there for parking.
google avatar

Elvira O.

Yelp
Get your poke fix here. They have a self-serve poke bar with ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, and tako (octopus) poke. I stick to shoyu ahi poke which is a salty, soy sauce flavor sprinkled in black sesame seeds and green onion and spicy ahi tuna sauce which is creamy mayo-like and sprinkled in roe. Not to be missed is the salmon poke mixed with onion and black sesame seeds. So good! It should be mentioned that it is pretty pricey--priced per pound--but it's worth it and this much protein is extremely filling!
