Amazon to Deliver Whole Foods Groceries via Prime | Eater

"Following the August 2017 merger with Amazon, this grocery chain’s offerings are now available for one- or two-hour Prime Now delivery in Virginia Beach, Cincinnati, Dallas, and Austin. The selection is broad — from produce, meat and poultry, and bakery items to prepared foods, beer and wine — and includes an extensive "Dairy Alternatives" section with 125 items, suggesting some shoppers can complete regular grocery runs via Prime Now. Two-hour delivery is free for orders over $35 (otherwise $4.99), while one-hour delivery costs $7.99. Amazon already sells the grocer’s private-label 365 products on its website and has promoted discounts via Treasure Trucks in store parking lots. The company plans to expand Prime Now availability for these groceries to additional cities in 2018." - Whitney Filloon

Big shout out to the Bakery for making my pop-up birthday surprise for my bestie extra special! He made an assortment of delicious cupcakes and shooters, which my bestie truly enjoyed! Thank you so much!

Unfortunately, the cakes you've bought have changed a lot lately. The price of this cake is $27. There is no more fruit in the filling.

I just stopped by to return an Amazon package and pick up a case of water. Quick and easy return. I only waited about a minute even though some rude entitled lady stepped in front of me in the line like I wasn't standing there. Anyway, the store was clean and easy to navigate. The self checkout was quick.

I ordered delivery from the VA beach Whole Foods while staying here for the week. The delivery person was prompt and courteous BUT we received a 4lb bag of moldy oranges, expired yogurt and beer that was 2 months past its Best By date. Amazon was good about refunding the bad items.

Last time I didn’t have quite a 5 star experience with curbside grocery pickup. Which makes this review more relevant. My entire experience from ordering via Amazon Prime app as a member to get discount, to being notified via text messages that order is ready for pickup with link to where you indicate where you parked, what color and type of car. With the confirmation that you’re on the way, it seemed as if the staff was just waiting for you to arrive! The staff came out within 5 minutes after I confirmed my parking spot. The staff confirmed my name and loaded the groceries in the trunk. The curbside pickup area is on the side of the building away from regular parking spots and right outside of staff exit to load your groceries. When I got home, I was pleased with how my groceries were neatly placed in the paper bags, sorted by frozen, then bottled and dry goods then fresh produce. I also want to point out. I was encouraged to try new products as Whole Foods has great unique selections not available elsewhere. They also give great discounts with their weekly promos. I recommend the healthy bottled shots. I tried the turmeric and ginger ones!

Love this place! Clean. Easy to find what you need. Produce is great! Staff is very nice and helpful! Prices are competitive with local grocery stores.

Google
I've been here many times, especially when I want to buy superior cuts of beef At 1st I was skeptical about grocery delivery services. Mainly because I felt that I had to trust my own judgment when buying fresh produce. I'm so happy that I caved in and chose whole foods Amongst the items were a variety of fruits, veggies and chicken. I want to give a big shout out to my shopper who did such an awesome job. Thank you. Now I'm off to make a raspberry and strawberry cheesecake with the fresh ingredients 😋

Google
I don’t visit this store often, as it’s a bit far from where I live, but I like it❤️ It’s not perfect, of course, but it is one of the best ones in VB! 🛒 There is a coffee grinder on the coffee aisle, there is a peanut butter maker, there is a fresh juice maker, a wide variety of local foods and drinks: from meat to beer 🥩, you can even find some basic clothes here! 👕I am hoping to see a bigger international foods selection one day!

Yelp
These days Whole Foods Market has everything. Nice staff to help with all your questions. At check out they are so friendly. My favorite is the amazon return area. That is super convenient. My one draw back is sometimes prices are high. BUT they do run sales so I personally watch for the sales. They have a great selection of everything. My favorite is the ready made food. What a big area for ready made food. It is a great place to go pick up a healthy lunch or dinner. Lots of food choices. This is a big store and every isle is tall . Different Varieties from the top to the bottom of the shelves so be sure to look at everything. Most of the times when I go in I only pick a few isles to go down with my list because they have so much stuff.

Yelp
I love the store and the products until I have to engage with an employee. They seem bothered and angry when you ask for help.

Yelp
This is an upscale grocer with a wide variety of products and options to sample things on your own. Ultimately, the place is clean, relatively well staffed, and the price point matches or only slightly exceeds the expectations for the supposed quality of goods being sold. I appreciate you can do Amazon returns here as well relatively painlessly.

Yelp
Yes it's a grocery store! Great selection of beer and wine. Clean well stocked shelves. A frozen dessert case that leaves nothing to be desired. Fresh salad bar, pleasant helpful employees when I'm in the area I fill my basket at whole Foods!

Yelp
Please find work for your security officer to do, she's bothers people that don't need to be bothered.... Give her cart duty or something... she's bored.

Yelp
It's ok when you treated like a human being other than that people who are another ethnic seem to like walk over new employees like they run the place.service some of the employees are professional can't say that for everyone.

Yelp
Whole Foods is a specialty grocery store. Healthy options, local brands, conventional and organic produce and a good variety of prepared foods. Virginia Beach Whole Foods is a bit smaller than my favorite Bay Area locations but it's a solid Whole Foods nonetheless. Their sliced bread and tortilla selection is pretty non existent, but that's not much to gripe about. They have a great selection of international sauces, local beer, wine and vegan proteins and nut milks. Like other reviews have mentioned beware of weekends, it gets Crackin'.

Yelp
What can I say? Other than, this is a very dangerous place and one can easily drop a whole paycheck here! If you are a foodie, herbalist, tea lover, into natural medicine, a vegan, perhaps have a gluten allergy or simply want to purchase local grown produce & better cuts of meats.... I highly recommend you check out Whole Foods. All the hype is true and yes! You do hear angels sing when you walk thru the sliding doors.... Or perhaps that's the sound of the greeters. Excellent customer service by the way. This super market is full of surprises from not so commonly found fruits and vegetables down to a large variety of Vegan & gluten free products. Amongst the long list of amazing products available at Whole Foods here are a few that may entice you to check them out. Fresh Pasta sold by the pound & a plethora of gourmet cheeses to select from Alkaline water machine that you can use to refill your own jugs. Hot food bar ( I love their Mac ) Cold food bar, Sushi Bar, Fresh Pizza station, Soup Bar. Bakery and much much more

Yelp
My first time ever at a Whole Foods. I will break down the different experiences. Exterior- Aesthetically very pleasant, clean, and beautiful flowers. Produce Section- Great selection and prices not bad. Dessert and Deli Section- The dessert employees were so nice and friendly! The best part of the store. Canned/Boxed Goods- Well could not enjoy this section because smack in the middle of this section is a huge soap section with open, unwrapped soaps with VERY STRONG SCENTS! I wear a mask in all stores because I can go into anaphylaxis with smells and have a compromised immune system. I purposely do not go into hygiene/soap/shampoo/perfume areas of stores because of this. I also only go to specialty stores because of these medical issues. Unfortunately, as soon as I turned into the aisle for the sauces, an overwhelming perfume scent hit me (even with the mask on). I went down this aisle and saw the large display of unwrapped scented soaps. I added a second mask to the 1st mask hoping that this would block out the smells. By the next aisle I could feel my chest tightening and my breathing getting labored. I left the store and went to the car before going into a full attack. Had my epipen ready, took a couple benadryl, and took a lot of breathes trying to calm everything down. I went back in the next day and spoke to an African American woman with an island accent who stated she was a manager at the customer service desk. I explained what happened the day before and how the soap display in the middle of the food section in a store that caters to people with special/restricted diets, allergies, and medical conditions was not well-thought out, and what happened to me the day before. She honestly did not seem to care. She did not take my name, she did not apologize or say that she will speak to another manager or corporate about this. I was dismissed. So...Whole Foods will no longer get my business. This was my first experience with this company/store and to be honest there is nothing at this store that I cannot get at other organic/specialty stores that are laid out in a way where food is food and hygiene products are hygiene products.

Yelp
It's been three years since my initial review of Whole Foods and I'm continuing to provide them high marks, but sliding back a star due to lack of staffing and longer checkout lines. The inception of Amazon delivery and store discounts with PRIME has energized the grocer and brought in new business. I still have yet to use their delivery service, but friends do enjoy. During COVID times they have not skipped a beat with staff preparedness. The store has always been clean and now additional measures are in place with a designated employee to wipe down cart handles. The staff not only wear mask, they have them properly secured over the nose. My most recent visit was only for a few items, but the consistency of tremendous inventory of quality products is admirable during the pandemic. Also service remains a priority to Whole Foods which keep me coming back. Unfortunately there was no one available in the customer service line for the few items. Lines were long and this was annoying. I purchased their house made granola, Wallaby's vanilla bean organic yogurt along with blueberries and strawberries. For those that enjoy Chick Fil A parfaits this is the same yogurt. Checkout lines were three to four back on all of the five lines. I went to the customer service desk for fewer items less wait. I do NOT mind waiting. I cannot stand self checkout. The young lady was very friendly and reminded me of Amazon Prime rewards. However, the few items I purchased was not discounted. My items were bagged on paper vs plastic. Thank you! Keep being awesome Whole Foods. There is no comparison. However please add more staff at checkout. 4.5 rounding down.

Yelp
Bottom feeding self rightious people here are lazy. Serving what corporate says and nothing else. Pizza cooks act confused everytime IF theyre not on brake and high. Put the paper out to fll out. I shouldnt have to ask. Then you say your out of everything and cant make it 40 mins before close.. Use your liberal art degree and get lost.

Yelp
LOVE this place! Get's crazy packed during the weekends! Just a warning! Came here to order cupcakes for my daughters birthday. Anything and everything in that bakery is amazing! Melt in your mouth perfection. Beer/wine selection is outstanding! There is something to drink for everyone. You have amazon? Place an order for pick up!!! And I believe you get a little discount. Not quite sure...don't quote me on that. Their small restaurant is no longer there. They are using that area as an "Amazon assembly line."

Yelp
My bestie came up for the weekend to participate in my neighborhood yard sale. Not only was it stinking hot but I only made $10 bucks! Sunday came and after breakfast at our favorite place, The Egg Bistro, we decided to walk it off by visiting Virginia Beach's premiere grocery stores. The first one we stopped at was Whole Foods. Because we dined at opening at The Egg we made it to WF well before the people of VB were awake so it was a pleasant visit for us. We wandered around giddy at all the fruits, specialty foods, yummy baked goods, hot and cold salad/dinner bars we're not used to. Y'all, I am NOT a fan of VB. It's always so crowded, you can't rely on working traffic signals and the drivers care less about your safety than beating everyone to the next red light, but this visit to WF made me a tad bit envious of folks within walking distance. I mean, my visit was so positive I contemplated leaving my country paradise just so I would have daily access to WF and Lumpia & Co. I bought so much fresh fruit that it had to look as if I've never had fresh fruit before. Not only were the fruits beautifully displayed, they were tasty!! And on sale with my Amazon Prime membership. That's right y'all! I said discounts with an Amazon Prime account. If you were a fly on our shopping cart listening to how much the little things excited me you would think I was the country cousin who'd never left the farm vs an internationally traveled city girl! I spoke with several different employees and each of them was gracious, helpful and quite friendly. They're definitely an asset to WF. I sampled different cookies, fresh baked tarts, gum and all that fruit that made it appear as if I was on a rabbit diet. I bought mangos, peaches, strawberries, cherries, cookies, gum, a mini eclair, mini cheesecake and 2 assorted tarts. I got all of these delectable delights, superior customer service AND Amazon prime discounts for $56 bucks! I am still dining on my fruits and the cookies were just perfect. ** continuation ** the mini eclair, tarts and cheesecake were phenomenal! So very tasty. I'm glad they're a mix and match price. I can't wait to go back for more! After we left WH we went to Wegmans. I had high hopes from them and was terribly let down. I am a new Whole Foods devotee and can't wait to find myself there once again. Thank you Whole Foods. I have never before in my life been this happy to visit a grocery store!

Yelp
Pizza quality has gone down some in the last month or so. Burnt slices not not ready on time (11am). Overall a great place to shop

Yelp
This Whole Foods store is located in the busy Hilltop Shopping area. Lots of unique brands that are not found in other grocery stores. Their deli section is my favorite. It's like a restaurant take out. There are self checkouts. Also there's a kiosk for Amazon return.

Yelp
It's time that I updated my review of Whole Foods, changing my rating from 4 to 5. Why? I am seeing more of the specialty items that were missing a few years ago. I was ecstatic the day I walked in and saw Lilly's Cinnamon Babka prominently displayed on a table at the front of the store. But my upgrade decision was finalized because of Thanksgiving dinner. It wasn't a good health year. I was sick for months & got better just in time to have a pretty unpleasant surgery that left me miserable for a month. Needless to say, my energy level was non existent. Normally I spend Thanksgiving in NYC with my family. But they decided to come down here this year. YAY!! But I was definitely not up for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. I began a search for a restaurant with nice Vegan Thanksgiving choices for my son. Failing miserably with that option, I turned to Whole Foods. The holiday meal choices from Whole Foods are amazing. I ordered on-line, choosing my pickup date and time. For 3 adults and one child, I chose the Chef Jenne Claiborne's Vegan meal for 2, the Classic Roast Turkey dinner for 4, an extra side of Roasted Butternut Squash with Cranberries & Sage and Vegan Rosemary Rolls. The Vegan meal consisted of Vegan Black-Eyed Pea Fritters, Vegan Spicy Cornbead Dressing, Vegan Mushroom Soufflé, Vegan Braised Collard Greens with Tomatoes and a Vegan Pumpkin Pie. The Classic Roast Turkey Dinner consisted of Traditional Herb Stuffing, a Classic Small Roasted Turkey, Cranberry Orange Sauce, Holiday Turkey Gravy, Green Beans & Roasted Shallots and Creamy Mashed Potatoes. One thing I love about Whole Foods' on-line prepared dish/meal offerings is that they indicate whether an item is Vegan. There were a number of dishes that I ordered from the regular dinner and side dishes that were Vegan, adding to my son's meal choices. I didn't see this with the comparable stores' holiday dinners. The entire meal was less than $150. Now there is no way that I could have bought the ingredients and cooked a Thanksgiving meal for less than that. All I had to add was a Traditional Pumpkin Pie. And there were leftovers for several days. Pickup was extremely easy. A table and register was set up near the meat counters. The friendly guy at the register checked my name and verified that I had paid on-line. A group of staffers would go into what must have been a cooler behind the meats and return with customer purchases, already bagged. Along with the meal each person was given heating instructions. A nice young man helped me get my purchases into the vehicle. It was very quick and easy. Thank you Whole Foods for your help in making Thanksgiving dinner happen. It was tasty, easy and nicely priced.

Yelp
I didn't like the way the Caucasian heavy set young female with curly hair walked around on my right side as if she was fixing the bags when I was in self-checkout. I could see her frowning at me as I was scanning my items and as soon as looked over at her she cracked a smile. Whatever, every black person that comes in here "doesn't" steal.

Yelp
Hubby and I went on a a Saturday afternoon. I immediately saw pumpkins big and small for sale and this made my heart happy! Even during the Covid pandemic this store was poppin! They still had their large amount of produce that I love. I noticed that only half of their hot bar was opened. Although this disappointed me, I was appreciative of how they kept safety a priority. The cashier was super friendly with us and even suggested we pull up our Amazon Prime account to save extra. I love this store. I could spend all day inside. I just wish we had a store closer to home in Chesapeake.

Yelp
I just love Whole Foods (and Trader Joe's)! But, they are not close to us at all...so unfortunate. However, when we make the trip out to the beach we have to strategically plan to hit both stores & make a detailed lists (which we do follow & then some)! A couple of things we purchased included fruits, veggies, pastries, poultry and mics items. One of the new items we decided to purchase was the "Sage Chicken Breakfast Sausage" - $6.99 lb. Surprisingly tasteful!! A tad bit salty for me BUT still good. I cooked eggs with herbs & w/out salt to balance the taste. Will buy again! Purchased 6/15/19; Cooked 6/16/19 for Father's Day breakfast. Everyone who we came in contact with were super nice & helpful! The cashier also showed me how to use the Amazon App!! Woo boo!! My main reason for deducting a ...because of the distance. Please put a Whole Foods in Suffolk. VA!

Yelp
I am appalled with the rude service I just got from the Amazon return associate. I had a simple question and she belittled me. I will go anywhere else to return my things. Horrible experience

Yelp
When it comes to great tasting cake, Whole-foods has it. Their Berry Chantilly cake has been a family favorite since 2015. Unfortunately, there was NONE available around 8:30 am. However, since they did have bulk nuts available, I decided to give it a shot. I normally buy almonds (pre-packaged) @ Costco, cashews (bulk) @ Kroger, & peanut (pre-packaged) from Parker's or Williamsburg. Big mistake in buying @ Whole Foods. PLU 5522, roasted almonds with salt. 9 out 10 almonds kernels/nuts were soggy & not roasted. Must have absorbed the moisture in the store and each kernel/nut had varying flavor. From burnt, to bland, to being oily. There was no taste of salt. PLU8786, roasted peanuts with salt. Inconsistent! Some are roasted while others are soggy and soft. The taste of the roasted peanuts can be compared to extra crispy and dry coconut flakes. No taste of salt. PLU 5622, roasted cashews with salt. Soft and or soggy. Not the best tasting cashew. I hate to waste food but I prefer to not endure the pain of eating what I bought. Bottom line Whole Foods got their revenue & I threw what I bought. In the future, will stick to Berry Chantilly cake.

Yelp
I usually shop here once a week, and I prefer to shop online and do pick up. The store is a bit cramped, so I rarely go in unless I need something from their hotbar. However, their online shopping is straightforward, and their shoppers do an excellent job of selecting fresh produce. Overall, the quality of their food is superior to other supermarkets in Virginia Beach, with the exception of Fresh Market. Some items may be slightly pricier, but the extra cost is worth it for the higher standard of treatment and care for crops and animals. Additionally, they offer a wide variety of unique food items that are not available at other major grocery stores. Their substitution and return policies are easy to follow. I appreciate their selection and services.

Yelp
I really appreciate how Whole Foods has responded with COVID going around. I appreciate the directional signs on the floor, even though some customers do not follow directions. I also appreciate employees wiping carts before use and offering mask for those who may forgot theirs or do not have them. The lines seem long but they go pretty quickly. The main reason I shop at whole food is to refill my water jugs at their refill station. It's convenient and helps save the planet with not buying plastic. If you have Amazon Prime, I recommend taking advantage of their Prime sales!

Yelp
This particular Whole Foods has very poor customer service personnel. The deli man was not helpful when asking for the condiments location for the self serve bar, and had a sour look of "idgaf" on his face. Then at checkout the lady was rude and didn't care, crushed our bread and threw our things around. Packaged meat directly in the bread bag. You get what you pay for? I think not in this case.

Yelp
I love this place! So MANY healthy and FRESH options!!! Parking is a bit of a pain as the parking lot is not that big considering how many people shop here. Love the selection of organic foods, milk, yogurt etc... Great selection of wines and craft beers too!!! Try the mochi (freezer case full of different flavors!!) the salted caramel is off the hook delicious as are the coconut pineapple and the red bean!!! Don't forget to bring your own grocery bags, or you'll be paying for them. ( ***note- you get credit for bringing your own bags you can gift it to someone else, or keep it) Swing in and give this place a try but DO NOT come here hungry, or you'll be doing what I did and buy everything delicious you see.

Yelp
I love healthy market concept stores! It is very nice shopping or even order it through amazon. They have absolutely everything I need. Fresh and organic vegetables, fresh fish, vegan cheese (their coconut cheese is awesome), non-dairy milk and ice-creams. Good wine and beer selection. My favourite? Their instant made peanut butter... love, love, love it!!!!! I can take it as snack with bananas, as a breakfast with açai bowls.. btw, the hummus they have is really good as well. I love food, can you tell? :) Moreover there is a beauty section environmental responsible. I am grateful they provide and promote that kind of products. I can find a deodorant made of ingredients that I can understand without hurting my body. And yes, it is pricy, maybe more than other supermarkets, but that's what wholesfood is. You can truly find products that are not available anywhere else. Their service is really good and very convenient especially if you are amazon prime. I wish all markets followed their philosophy bas

Yelp
I'm an Amazon shopper who works in Jenkintown. I love this store, it's changed a lot since COVID-19. A lot less families , an it's almost always crowded. Patience , kindness and helping people is still their motto, compared to other WFM in my opinion!

Yelp
I have been hearing about the TTLA sandwich for months! I was told I had to try it, that it was unbelievably delicious! Oh!, you have to add pickles. I have been pass this Whole food several times and they were always out of the main ingredient Tempeh bacon. I take a chance and come after church services and BOOM! They have it in stock! Well heck, I sit down and enjoy this experience right in the bar area. I order it with sweet potato fries and the wait begins. Finally, the sandwich that has sold out since it was posted on Facebook. It's sitting right in front of me...a totally vegetarian sandwich that's suppose to KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF! Oh, it has avocado on it! Tomatoe, lettuce, tempeh bacon, pickles (added) and a aioli spread all on Focaccia bread. Was it worth the wait? Was I impressed with the sandwich? EH! I could have taken or leave it. Especially when the guy next to me at the bar ordered two slices of meat lovers pizza with extra cheese! Maybe I need to go back and try it again without the distractions to my eyes and nose! Whelp, I can say I tried. Until next time another EH! Fatboy Adventure

Yelp
Um, wow, how have I not written a review of this place yet? I adore Whole Foods. Do I do my regular food shopping here? NO WAY. But I love coming here for fun, unique things. Whole foods is kinda pricy. But it usually because everything they sell is either local, organic, gluten free, or speciality. You get what you pay for. Which is meant in a positive way here. I specifically come out here for Washington State apples. They are the best apples I've ever had. The ones with the Ranier sticker on them. I also make the trip out for a certain hot sauce I can't seem to find anywhere else by Mad Hatter Foods. But I also like looking through their meat department and seeing what fun burgers they have put together or delicious spices on their chicken they made that day. I took a few pictures to show what I mean. The store is always clean and the staff is always pleasant. Totally worth the drive out here if you like new, fun, and different foods. Just, don't have a heart attack when you check out. $$$ #JustLetItHappen #YouWontBeDisappointed

Yelp
I have a new found love for Whole Foods! (I'm a first timer!) I've always avoided shopping here because of the prices but I decided what the hay, why not? I'm glad i did. The outside is very clean, well decorated and well put together. When you walk in, it does feel a bit cramped at first but once you grab a cart and begin moseying your way around it feels very welcoming and relaxing... and yes people, I am aware of the fact that I'm using the word relaxing to describe a grocery store right now. haha. There are just so many things that this store offers for it not to be. for instance.. As soon as I walked in someone was behind a counter making homemade guac and enthusiastically offered me a sample.. Who would turn down free guac? "No thanks, I don't eat guacamole" said no one EVER.. And, It was delicious and spicy in case you were wondering. ;) I made my way over to the cold salad bar, hot bar and soup section and to my surprise they have quite the selection. Just a heads up, their red bean tamales are delicious!! I also noticed that they have an area where you can order food as well. They also have a separate section for what looked to be hand made soaps and the smell of that section is to die for. Yum! The employees were helpful and kind! Over all I would definitely recommend this store to anyone who may be a bit apprehensive about Whole Foods. Is it pricier than it's competitors? Yes.. Would I come back or recommend it to a friend? Absolutely !! :)

Yelp
I am a big fan of Whole Foods Market. Ummm...because consuming whole foods equals better health. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, doc gives me an excellent "perfect health" review every year-and I take that to mean I'm doing something right. At one time I was here every Sunday afternoon, but so was everyone else! Crowded aisles, long lines, insanity in the parking lot. Everyone flocking here to get their health fix for the rest of the week. Now I visit occasionally. My favorite section is the BULK SECTION. The array of grains, beans, flours, spices is super awesome. If you want to try something new because you saw it on your favorite Doctor Show or read about it in a magazine don't go broke buying a bag of something you ma hate. Just purchase enough for one or two servings and be on your way. And why buy a huge jar of an exotic spice when you only need a teaspoon for an experimental recipe??? Don't do it, get you a little baggie and scoop a little more than you might need in there, seal it up and happily walk away. Yes some of the prices are exorbitant, so do your price comparing homework. The eggs, have mercy! PLEASE, PLEASE check the prices as your cashier rings you up! I LOVE the $1.99/lb jewel and garnet yams, let me tell you they are DIVINE and I will pay 2bucks a pound to enjoy them, I don't think they ever go on sale. But twice I got the USA Sweet Potatoes listed at $0.99/lb and the cashier rang them up as $1.99/lb!!! I almost paid twice as much for some regular sweet potatoes (still yummy but not $2 yummy). FYI you can print coupons from their website!!!!

Yelp
People LOVE the Whole Foods Market. It seems like every one I've ever been to is massively crowded and super busy. Yep, it's great food. Super selection of coffee. Lots of organics and healthy things but damn most of it is expensive. I was only shopping with my mom who needed organic local honey for some reason or another. But we also picked up some great looking cherries (same price as the ones in Sam's!) and some sweet pastries from the bakery department (not as cheap). The cashier was quite friendly (no, Maureen, she didn't drop anything) and we were on our way.

Yelp
We've been buying our organic turkey here for the last few years and they've all been good. This year, no matter how long we cooked it (11lbs and 6 hours later) there was one part of the bird that remained raw, so no turkey for Thanksgiving. I called WF and spoke with Shaun (sp?) He was very apologetic and didn't question anything, he quickly offered to refund the money plus a gift card which was not expected. Thank you Shaun and Whole Foods.

Yelp
I absolutely love crème brûlée but Whole Foods has got to stop caramelizing the sugar. It makes it's soggy and not enjoyable at all. It's supposed to be an elegant dessert so stop putting sugar and selling it that way.

Yelp
One of the smaller WF I've been too but not bad. They have a terrific bulk section (although the popcorn I got was ok...with a few pieces being rancid and overall a small popped product). Being a native Washingtonian, I was happy and surprised to see that they carry CAVA products (a hip local uber-popular chain of DC restaurants that a old HS classmate of mine started)....CAVA's Crazy Feta at freakin' $9.99 for a teeny tiny tub is worth the occasional splurge (unless you know the knock-off recipe, which is pretty close in flavor). Being new to the area, WF is still a big ol' CF...weekdays and weekends. I took Stephanie S.'s advice and checked it out on a Wednesday. It was definitely quieter. At almost $5 a freakin' bag, our family is in love with the Xochitl tortilla chips. They're super similar to the chips served in DC-area Latino restaurants...super duper thin and crispy. $5 bag...I don't care. They're so good. We also got to try Kiku apples, which weren't carried in the DC-area WF I went to recently. Also very good. The prepared foods section is tiny. I remember going to town at the WF in Orlando. The size of this one is a bit disappointing. I didn't get to try any of the baked goods from the bakery, but WF's fresh fruit tart has always been a favorite of ours. However, on the visits I've gone I didn't see the large size, only the little guys. We did manage to try the $2 all beef hot dog special that happens all day on Wednesdays at their cafe "The Porch". I ordered fries after seeing Meredith V. post that they served boardwalk fries...I was excited. However, they're not boardwalk fries but thicker and chunkier fries. The day we went they were a cooked all the way through but soggy and browner than I would have liked them. They definitely had potential. AND...since the kitchen had included them with our $2 hot dogs at no extra cost (not sure if it was a kitchen goof or if they are supposed to come with the fries)...I wasn't complaining. The dogs were good and came with whatever you wanted on them at no charge (ie. chili, raw onions, etc.). Overall, HR has been waiting for WF to come for a while...and needed it. I still will do a bulk of my shopping at the commissary and TJs, but it's nice to pop in and check around to see what's new. They also carry produce from our favorite organic farmer (Mattawoman Creek Farms)...always a plus (unless you already subscribe to MCF's CSA). Like TJs but more so, stay away on weekends unless you like chaos and madness.

Yelp
Great to have a Whole Foods in a beach town -- a definite step up to the choices we've found in other coastal vacation spots. We stocked up essentials for the week -- fruit, milk, a lovely loaf of seeded rye, sliced deli meats and cheeses. The staff at the meat counter didn't grumble as I ordered odd amounts, based on the number of days I thought we'd need stuff -- four slices of this cheese, just a 1/4 lb. of that meat, etc. The deli items were sliced perfectly and packed with care. Treat yourself to some of the awesome cookies and rugala, sold by weight. Check out the ceiling at the registers - colorful vintage skis. Our only hiccup here was spotty service on The Porch, their semi-outdoor bar and eating area. I ordered two lattes to go, and the staffer/barista kept getting distracted by helping out others at the register, opening bottles of wine, etc. The lattes took about 10 minutes to complete, which was just too long. The colonial look of this WF makes it blend right into the surrounding area. Overall a great store.

Yelp
I love the fact this place has everything you are looking for, for a healthy lifestyle. I love the bakery... My guilty pleasure for coming to Wholefoods in the first place. However, this place is more expensive than Trader's Joe's. The salad/ hot bar is always fresh and have good selections. The staff is always pleasant and helpful! Whenever I go there and want something particular that's not on the hot bar, they will make it for me. Now that's great customer service!

Yelp
So I love Whole Foods. Well I LOVED Whole Foods now it's just an expensive Kroger's. What happened? Amazon? The veggies used to be amazing. But now they look horrible and the shelves are not clean. They used to have a person tending them all day and the shelves were routinely cleaned with bleach. Now the smell of mildew is ever present. Please bring back the old Whole Foods mentality.

Yelp
I'm glad we have a whole foods in Hampton Roads, as they are very good for certain things. Today I stopped for a quick lunch on the run alone. I had a nice salmon/tuna sushi bowl that was very good. Their sushi usually is. Their pizza slices are also very good. They have several outdoor tables avaliable, so they make an ideal stop for lunch if on your own or in a rush. As a store, I love their cheese department. They have a lot of good, unique options. I really like that they always have small pieces you can buy to try something new, without having to risk biyingan expensive cheese you might not like. I would expect a much better selection of charcuterie however to accompany these cheeses. I love their bulk spice section, the prices are a fraction of jarred spices. In fact the bulk foods are great in general, they have some wonderful granolas, dried fruits, etc. Their produce is also very nice, with a very good selection, and competitive prices. They have a beautiful meat and seafood section too, but the prices are at least double what I am willing to pay. There's a lot to like here, but it is not a week in, week out regular stop as a grocery store.

Yelp
Coming from the Northern VA area, this Whole Foods is TINY. They seemed well stocked with inventory and very organized. Staff I interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful when it came to finding specific grocery items. This location offers Amazon Prime pick up services Their parking lot was a bit of a traffic jam, but to be fair, I did visit the Sunday before Christmas, so everywhere was pretty chaotic. It was packed inside, but the checkout process took less than 5 minutes!

Yelp
BRAVO. WOW. I have been a loyal customer at Whole Foods for the last 7 years--the food is fresh, the store is clean, all that and a bag of chickpeas up until today: when some cashier at the register wanted PROOF THAT I BOUGHT MY COFFEE. So, I gave him my best "Are you an idiot? Take this Buzzfeed quiz now!" face expression. H-hhhow... would I be walking around the store right now with this latté in my hand if I didn't pay for it? He literally would not complete my transaction until I walked back to the bar and asked for a printed receipt of my coffee. Then, he rolled his eyes when I showed him proof that I purchased my fair trade, 100% certified fuck you coffee from Guatemala. However, I'll only minus 1-star because the hot food/salad bar is bangin' and I don't want this one bad, genetically-modified hipster to offset how I generally feel about this place.

Yelp
Update: They never contacted me back now that I think about it...but I was close to ordering a whole case of vegan cookie dough, so I guess they did me a favor?

Yelp
I really wish they had more of these all over the 757! I used to go here all the time for their food bar, healthy good, and pizza! Yummy! They used to have a pizza and beer special, that was awesome. They still may have it!

Yelp
I love Whole Foods! They offer an amazing selection of items that you wouldn't typically find in any other grocery store! They also offer many organic and GMO free products plus very fresh fruits and veggies unlike other stores! Their unique and quality products along with their bakery, serve yourself, and hot food sections, keep me coming back for more! I am always thrilled to stumble upon a product that I have not seen elsewhere and that I end up really loving! Whole Foods also offers great products such as bath and shower products that are fresh and serve yourself plus they have a large section of essential oils and such! Overall, I am always impressed by what I find in Whole Foods and love coming here to shop or to grab something delicious from their ready food sections!

Yelp
Tons of awesome food everywhere!!! Though not a good idea to go shopping when you're hungry. Prices reflect the variety of higher-end places to shop, but that's typical of the Hilltop area. The array of food choices is amazingly dizzying! Too many choices!!!

Yelp
My only complaint is the hard stools I have to sit on. Servers are nice and sweet. Jarred served me and is warm and accommodating. People tonight are quiet. Waiting on my buddy so we can eat from their awesome salad bar. Place isn't that busy. Cozy in here.
