Wholly Guacamole Mexican Grille

I got my order to go but the experience was AMAZING! I got the Quesadilla Texana and it was fabulous 👌🏿 I would absolutely eat here again. This was my first experience 😍

I wasn't sure what a Fried Burrito was, but I found out. It was awesome! Served with rice and beans on the side, it made a perfect size lunch for me. Hubby had the 3 tacos with rice and beans, and it was almost too much. Just a great stop for lunch.

Our waiter was very nice and attentive when we stopped for an early dinner on our way from Chatlotte to Raleigh. The food and portion sizes were great for hungry travelers. We have visited several times in our travels between Raleigh and Charlotte. The food and service are consistently great.

My husband,son,and myself order pineapple water the drink tasted very nasty like it had been there for days. I brought it to the waitress attention she just said she was sorry she had tried the water and it was fine. I've drank fresh pineapple water at other places that water was spoiled it was nasty they still charged is $10.50 for 2 they only took one drink off 😒 I understand it's not the waitress fault but that water was spoiled it was so nasty it had an after taste it was bad .

Had an amazing experience here! The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. The food was delicious, with well-balanced flavors and great presentation. I was going to get a sub sandwich next door, but the line was too long. Lucky for me! I went next door to Wholly Guacamole and was very satisfied. I had the Carnitas plate. Very tasty, very fast, and very attentive. Would go again. Bonus points it was Cinco De Mayo. If I wasn't at work a beer would have made it perfect. Next time. 🍻

Fabulous Fajita Salad. The meat was tender. The sauces are made in house. The red one was my favorite, excellent flavor. The service was prompt and comfortable. I would definitely return.

Fast service, your food is ready in a timely manner. The servers are great. Very attentive in checking your needs periodically. I can't say enough about the food. Just know its delicious.

When it comes to local Mexican food..... Wholly Guacamole is where it's at! We've been going here for years and it doesn't disappoint. Typically we dine up but this afternoon it was a quick to go order. Fresh food, good portions and friendly staff! I love some Mexican food!

Hello Yelpers we decided to give Wholly Guacamole another try. We ordered something different. The service on the phone was polite. Upon pick up, The food was warm, made fresh and we enjoyed it. There was plenty and it was delicious. They packed everything really well. The parking lot is always busy, but the keep the front of the restaurant tidy. Good job I am glad we gave it a second chance. And I love the separated containers

If your of the Spanish decent you'll clearly realize the food is not it 20$ steak paper thin, torta sandwich meat was not evenly portioned for both cuts and all lack of flavor

I came in for a quick lunch before getting on the road. It wasn't super busy but it was quiet and clean. The waiter was attentive and the food was as I ordered. I got queso and chorri pollo. Both were food. The rice flavor was different than other places and not my favorite, but it wasn't bad.

Great Mexican food and great service! Marilyn was great and the fajitas are delicious! I'll be back!

Randomly stopped in this place on our way back to Wilmington from a soccer game. We had originally stopped at another fast food spot in the same parking lot but it was too disgusting to stay. We thought it was more of a fast casual place (Chipotle, Moe's) but it was a sit down restaurant. Services was fast and friendly and food was great (fried burrito, quesadilla, and acp). I'd definitely stop again!

What can I say We are a team of workers from Virginia, we came here for a project at the Lenovo fulfillment center, this restaurant was very close to our place, so we gave it a try the first time, and here the story started We have become addicted to it Great Mexican food Great service Very friendly people There is a cute girl there she is very nice And the manager I guess very nice too dunno his name but his son is called Matthew, that is a salad on the menu named on behalf of his son amigo The menu is very rich We come every day, And every time we try something different and nothing is better than another, Believe me, you gonna love everything it is so delicious. Thank you guys for your friendliness and the great job you are doing. The nice thing is that they give you salsa and ships whenever you want it untill you get sick, fresh chips and salsa, if you are a group they give everyone a cup of fresh salsa not like most mexican restaurant where they give just one cup shared with the whole group, and just one time, this place no, 1 cup for everyone and if you want more they'll give you more which is amazing If you do not believe me, here are some pics and vids, and it's for you to judge.

Deeeeelicious! I ordered the Carnitas plate and it was fab. Listen up - carnitas is pork shoulder slow roasted and then cut into chunks and then crisped up in the oven. ITS GOING TO HAVE FAT ON IT. The service was great even though it was busy. The ambiance was pleasant and family friendly. Authentic salsa and chips too. I wish I lived near here!

The service was fast and orders were correct. It is a very small place. Staff let people standing at the door waiting to be seating for at least 5 minutes before acknowledging they were there, and the phone was ringing almost the entire time. Food was good for the price.

Food is good, the staff are nonexistent. I sat down got my chips and salsa and water. Then another 10 minutes got my order taken. Never saw my waiter/waitress again. When I was ready to go I just walked up to the register and paid by telling him what I got. I will not return. Just next door is a Chinese buffet that gets my business now.

We have eaten at Wholly Guacamole for years, and have been very pleased with the food and service. However, the last few times we ordered takeout have been worse and worse and the worst. First time we stressed 3 times a food allergy, when it got to our home food allergy food was part of the dish. Into the trash, no food for you. Next time we ordered two of the same dish, and when it's get my home only one; again no food for you. Next time, I know i should have learned a lesson. The food was good, food allergy was considered, but the chips were rancid. We were lucky we didn't get sick, but we paid for cheese dip, you got it into the trash.

Every time we visit it's never too busy for great service. Fresh food and plenty of options for your little ones.

The food is OK. The portions were very small. Tacos the size of dumplings. The staff needs to listen and get order right. The waitress put 4 people in cramped space.

Friendly staff, been going for 2 yrs but the last 4 times the food has gone south, we loved the fajitas when they took pride and cooked them fresh, now you get served boiled meats and veggies, and there is no flavor, needless to say it's heart crushing cause this place was amazing, we keep saying we won't go back but then we give it another chance, just to be disappointed, I will say the sweet tea is amazing...Wish them luck, just over getting served boiled meats

Went to the Gibsonville location and will never return. Salsa was rancid and food went into the trash because it was trash.

Decent Mexican food off the Whitsett exit. Their cheese queso dip is thick and to-die-for, however their guac is not my favorite, unfortunately. My go-to at most Mexican restaurants is the beef or chicken taco salad. Wholly Guac has a pretty decent Taco Salad. They also have a couple of margarita options, I prefer getting it over ice rather than frozen, as the frozen option does not taste like it has any tequila in it...like at all! If you live in Whitsett, are looking for a quick sit down stop, or curbside to-go, I would definitely recommend.

It had been a long, long time since eating at a location of this chain - at least I guess it's still a viable chain, or maybe it just the 2 local restaurants, the other on S. Church Street in Burlington. The place is small, and kind of chopped up in segments, making it seem even smaller, crowded. The menu is typical Tex-Mex, and is more compact than some restaurants of this type. We chose a combination of typical Tex-Mex items to get a feel for the place - Ground Beef Burrito, Chile Relleno, and a Chicken Enchilada, coming with Rice & Beans, of course.. The complimentary salsa was pretty good, the chips fresh. The salsa is a puree with some onion and cilantro taste, but little heat. The order came out of the kitchen quickly and the portions were well sized. Everything on the combo was pretty good, especially the Chili Relleno - a full poblano pepper filled with nicely seasoned beef. The rice also was above average. The Carnitas were rather large, whole chunks of pork, among the largest I've encountered that wasn't walking on all fours. The outside was nicely crusted, but the meat was less than tender, and was on the bland side. The remainder of the plate was nice, if not exceptional. The service was friendly and attentive, no complaints here. Not a bad spot for a quick Tex-Mex fix, but the food here is just a little above average.

I had the beef enchiladas with queso too go. They we're cold and the meat looked overcooked and poor flavor. Won't eat there again

The soup was AWESOME!!!! Sopa de Pollo is absolutely delicious. I had the waitress to bring extra spoons so my friends can taste. The atmosphere was calm, the wait staff was so polite. I truly liked it there and will be returning!!!

They socially distance the tables and all of the workers are wearing masks and they keep things sanitized :) it's a very nice place and the food is amazing

Stopped here for a bit of a nostalgia trip last time I was working in this area. There used to be a Wholly Guacamole location on north Battleground. That spot is now Blue Agave. As far as I know, this is the only remaining Wholly Guac in the triad area, and that saddens me a little because they generally did a great job. That said, I had heightened expectations for this location which they fell just short of, but not extremely short. As others have said, this place just feels ridiculously tiny because of all the strange dividers around the space. There is outdoor seating, but, to say that there is anything scenic about it is laughable at best. You're in a strip mall parking lot, not on a legitimate patio. I remember this place having great fajitas. Thick cut chicken and steak, and in large amounts, complimented by grilled peppers and onions. None of that has changed. I would say the portions is just a tad smaller than I remember, but the flavors are all there. The guac, rice, and beans that it comes with are just right as well. The chips are perfectly crunchy, just a little oily, and thickly sliced. The salsa is ok, but nothing that memorable. Overall, my nostalgia itch was appropriately scratched, and if I find myself out this way again, I would eat here without question.

Good food with a local atmosphere. The server was very helpful in recommending dishes. Fresh hot chips! The chicken soup was delicious, and our margaritas were perfectly balanced. Give it a try!

Definitely recommend this place. I live just a few minutes down the road and its one of our hotspots when we gather with friends for lunch or dinner. The food is wonderful, I like the cheese quesadilla's the best though (keep in mind I haven't tried much other than those so I may be biased). The beer is good price for the most part. However, there are not that many choices in comparison to other places near by. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is nice especially during the summer and early fall time. If you are passing through and craving some Mexican food id definitely recommend you give this place a try. Even if you live in the area and have never been here before this is a MUST try place! Ill be back in the near future!

Popped in on our way through town hoping to find something good but gluten-free to eat. Great homemade corn tortillas, excellent salsa, and fresh, homemade quac. So many things on the menu, it was easy to find something yummy that suited our dietary requirements. Noticed a LOT of locals in there for lunch, too, and that is always a good sign.

Absolutely amazing! Best guacamole we've ever had. Cleanest restaurant we've been to during COVID. Excellent staff and service.

Good portion size here. They serve adult beverages but they don't have a bar. The dining room is very tight and the have outside tables as an option (if you want to sit in a strip mall parking lot to eat) but it makes the front door really busy with no waiting area. The service is friendly and prices are fair. I did notice that takeout portions are much smaller that dine in of the same item. The table salsa is tart with minimal seasoning and very thin in consistency :0( I had the Carnitas with rice and beans. The pork was cooked well and the chunks were large BUT there was way too much fat. It's a location where there are not many options unless Taco Bell is your kind of Mexican food.

Thanks to Yelp, we stopped at this restaurant en route to college drop off, and so glad we did! The food is standard Mexican fare, but the salsas are homemade and exceptionally good. The service was attentive and the owner is very gracious and friendly. During Covid, the food is served in styrofoam containers, and the utensils are all plastic but that's understandable . We love to support local businesses during this trying time, and definitely give this one a thumbs up.

We were somewhere between Greensboro and Burlington when my wife decided she was hungry. The only non-chain option on the sign that we saw was "Wholly Guacamole". Good enough. We pulled off to investigate. I didn't have the Yelp app handy (I was driving), so we landed in the parking lot on blind faith. The logo looked like a chain. Was this a lesser known version of Moe's? Nope. Just a delicious Mexican restaurant hiding in a strip mall near the grocery store. Offerings tend toward the less authentic or Tex-mexy. That's not a bad thing, if done right. I counted eight different types of quesadilla that you can order. Eight. Five types of nachos. Really? That's impressive. There are more traditional offerings like pollo con arroz that let you know that they know their stuff. But they also know the local crowd. And this crowd wants Tex-mex or even just plain ole' American. On the back of the menu, I noted "healthy dining" options that included Salmon. Salmon at a Mexican restaurant. That is a first. And if it's anything like the meal we had, it's delicious. Just because I like authentic Mexican food, doesn't mean I'm above ordering nachos. They delivered a heaping pile with grilled chicken, shredded cheddar + hot queso, and a generous serving of jalapenos. My wife's marinated chicken quesadilla was equally excellent. And she's not one to comment much. I had a taste. Very good. The salsa here also provoked some remarks. It tasted less acidic, and more smoky and subtle. Not sure what they do differently, but it's working. Oh, and the Guac? Not chunky, like I prefer it, but smooth and delicious. Our waitress was nice, the service was excellent, kitchen quick, and they were kind enough to offer us a drink for the road. If you find yourself hungry on I-40, and passing by a little place called Whitsett, then stop in here. It's worth a visit.

I am really glad that I gave this place a second chance. On my first visit, I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas. I did not enjoy my lunch. With all the great reviews, I had to give it a second try. On my most recent visit, I ordered the chilaquilles. It was awesome! The salsa is pretty tasty, as well. I will be back when I am working in the area.

I have the Reuben quesadilla tonight which was a special and it's truly the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life. So fresh and hot and cheesy and delicious. Friendly hostess and fairly quick service. Highly recommend. Very clean and pleasant restaurant all the way around.

When this place opened we ate here at least once a week. We moved away from the area so needless to say we haven't been in years. Now that we are back living here, we wanted to relive a good meal at a local restaurant. I don't know what happened here, owners changed, staff doesn't care, manager doesn't care??? I ordered the Paco salad and at least half the lettuce was wilted and dark, omg really, this was very noticeable! After I picked all the bad lettuce out I stacked it up fir the waitress to see it. Well she just stops and grabs it and takes it away, no I'm sorry or can I fix this for you, nothing. I do not blame her, I still tipped her very well. She was a young girl just learning but to the manager this is your fault. You will close the doors on this place if you do not learn how to train your staff and get consistent food . Good luck you have lost our business for good!
