What to Eat at Quincy Market | Eater Boston

"A kitschy lobster-roll vendor run by the same phonetic-brand operators behind the chowder stand, offering an in-market lobster-roll option for visitors who insist on staying inside the food hall rather than seeking out more authentic lobster elsewhere." - Erika Adams

Sheer disappointment. If you are really eager to try lobster meat, I'd highly recommend some other "state". For $40 what I got was, 3 bites of utter misery. I decided to try it out due to certain reviews and reddit recommendations. To my surprise, it didn't live up to any of the hype. The cashier mentioned how substantial the portion size was compared to the seafood sampler. Based on her recommendation, I went with the most popular hot lobster roll with butter. The first level of disappointment started with the visual. It started escalating as I started eating it. For $40, I ended up getting a handful of food- a slice of Pullman loaf (which I believe should've been a hot dog bun), a lemon wedge and some dry and overcooked lobster meat. All my enthusiasm was killed and I started regretting my purchase. There may be a few standalone restaurants in the area that may serve way better rolls. However, I've become extremely averse. After having tried lobster at Nova Scotia and Maine, I really had high expectations of this place but it kills the Boston food scene. If you love lobster🦞 and are eager to try these rolls, go anywhere but here. Save some $$ and don't burn a hole in your pocket.

This is the best lobster place in town. I travelled from London to try this and it did not disappoint! The guys were real nice and made it to my liking. I originally had one around $34 then my sis and I bought another one as it was so freaking nice. A few days later I also had another one because why not. Brioche roll was so nice and soft and tasty, the lobster was generous. We got asked by other customers if this was good as they tried another and it was not to their liking. Don’t waste you money on others. Get this one and only this!!! 🙏🏽

We visited on a Wednesday in mid-June 2025 for dinner. It wasn't really busy at the time and the guy behind the counter actually looked a little bored. He answered all our questions and also offered us a sample of clam chowda as we were deciding what we wanted to order. We ordered: - Clam chowder bread bowl (the volume of soup is in between the large and small size cups) - Clam chowder large (to refill out bowl after we finished it) - Crab salad sandwich (it was a cheaper option to try and was better than the lobster salad sandwich) - Lobster salad sandwich (a much cheaper option than a traditional lobster roll, also not bad but the crab salad sandwich we enjoyed more) Overall the food was decent. The prices were astronomical and we had seafood and lobster rolls at other places on this trip that were much cheaper. We didn't actually order the lobster roll here but not sure it would've been that much better. The sandwiches we did have were good and satisfied a craving. Not sure I would order from here again just because there are so many other options in the market we wanted to try. So if you need to satisfy some seafood craving, this will do it but there are similar places with lower prices.

We visited Boston in late July and along the Freedom Trail we ended up in the Quincy Market. The Market was full of wonderful food options but we knew we wanted to try a lobster roll. After looking at reviews, we chose Wicked Lobsta. I ordered 3 of the hit lobster rolls. The lobster rolls were about $38 each, which appeared to be the rate at all other establishments. The roll is served on a small roll. Each roll comes with a side of hot melted butter and a large lemon wedge. The rolls were tasty but they didn’t really fill us up and they don’t have any sides included in the $38 price. Later that night we had dinner at Legal Seafood and the table next to us ordered a lobster roll. It must have been 4 times larger than the little ones offered at Wicked Lobsta. If your mission is to try a lobster roll I would go to Legal Seafood. If your mission is to eat at Quincy Market then you will enjoy the taste of the lobster roll but after $40 a roll you may not be satisfied. Quincy Market does also offer lots of shopping and souvenir items.

The main thing I wanted to do in Boston was try a lobster roll! There are many options in Quincy Market, but this one caught my attention. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. You place your order at the register and then wait on the side for it to be prepared. The staff worked at a fast pace, so the service was quick. The seafood display looked fresh and clean. I ordered the naked lobster roll and clam chowder, which came to a whopping $44! The lobster roll was absolutely delicious. The buttered bread was out of this world, and the lobster meat was tender and flavorful. Although the roll looked small, it was surprisingly filling. The clam chowder was the perfect complement for the cold weather. I’m glad I got to try it, but I probably wouldn’t order it again anytime soon since it was quite a splurge. Overall, it was delicious, fresh, and satisfying!

Decent pick for lobster rolls and clam chowders in Quincy Market. While walking around the market for holiday treats, I stumbled upon this spot, which seemed to have good reviews compared to other vendors around. My past seafood experiences in the market hadn’t been very impressive, so my expectations were low. Yet, both the lobster roll and clam chowder I tried here were solid choices given their reasonable price. The Traditional Maine Lobsta Roll was generously filled with lobster meat, albeit more finely chopped than I usually prefer. While it might not compete with the city's top lobster rolls, it is a decent option if you find yourself in the market with a lobster craving. The clam chowder, on the other hand, was served in a smaller portion than I had anticipated, but it still managed to be a satisfying accompaniment to the roll.
