Everytime I travel through Charlotte I stop here! Great beer, Perni Haze is my favorite! They offer food through a neighboring place so you can eat and have some drinks! They keep it clean here too and are always friendly and helpful! The same guys always seem to be working when I’m here and they are hustling and nice! Highly recommend! If you love a Hazy IPA try the Perni Haze!! You won’t recommend it! Google currently has the hours wrong they are 7am-10:30pm! Come check it out

This brewery are one of my top IPA's. Always look forward to what seasonal they have every time I visit. I give the atmosphere a 1 star only because it's always extremely busy and i.only find seating half the time I go. But phenomenal beer!

Google
Three hour layover was welcomed when we discovered Wicked Weed at the airport. Bartenders are awesome there, and they have Shake Shack menus, which we’ve never tried so we ordered burgers and fries with our IPAs. Amazing burgers with amazing beer made for a great experience!

Google
While waiting for my flight, I stopped by Wicked weed for a drink, expecting a welcoming atmosphere. However, as I engaged in a friendly conversation with another guest—who had no complaints—the male bartender refused to serve me a second drink. To make it worse, he snatched the drink from my table and poured it into the trash right in front of me, without explanation. I left the place without any further conversation. The entire situation felt deeply unfair and unprofessional. I hope management takes swift action to ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity.

Google
I love that Charlotte airport has a bunch of these local breweries with mini bars here to show off how our region is growing our beer culture. This Wicked Weed joins Olde Mecklenburg and NoDa outlets in the airport. This one is located in a food court they're calling "The Plaza" that is near the E checkpoint. A couple of other eateries are here. They have nearly a dozen taps of their own beer plus bottled "guest" beers if you really feel the need to drink something macro and wine. They have some basic snacks but you'll be better off grabbing some waffle fries from the Chick-Fil-A if you need to eat. I had a tall and frosty pint of their "Day Light American Light Ale" as I slowly eased my way out of ketosis to prepare for my vacation. Delicious and definitely crushable.

Google
Great bartenders, empathic to our long delayed travel day. Offered advice on a hotel, which luckily we didn’t need, even put the Louisville game on for us. Beers were great too!

Zac Kreider

Google
Good beer, food was good. Bartender's attitude was terrible. She was on her phone video calling while making a mediocre attempt at helping us with our order.

Google
Great stop while awaiting a flight to try some local craft. 100% PDX approved for beer snobs. Great beer, great staff, plenty of food options surrounding.

Yelp
We were traveling to Europe and made a stop in Charlotte Douglas international Airport. While we waited we stopped at the Wicked Weed Brewing. The Bartender she was busyish...she wasn't welcoming but I get it seeing people all day gets to you lol. The bar was located In side court in the middle, bojangles was there, shake shack, auntie Anne was there too. We got a beer each I had a sour one I don't recall the name but it was red in color. It was good and tart. Ughh now I want to remember the name....I owe you the name lol. But if you're flying and so happen to stop in NC and don't mind moody bartender give this brewing spot a try!!! Enjoy!!

Yelp
We stopped here during a layover from Myrtle to Denver and found seats at the bar easily. The bartender was cool and laid back. He was good with some suggestions on your flavor profile. I like when I can give them an idea what I like and they pick a great beer for me. I can't remember what the name of the beer that I had was but it was a sweeter dark stout that was delicious. It was exactly what I wanted. The location is fun too. It is great for people watching since it is in smack dab in the middle of the food court. And another cool thing is you can order food from any of the eateries and chill and have a beer there.

Yelp
I had a layover in Charlotte's airport that kept getting delayed, and delayed, and delayed, so, despite it being 8:30 in the morning, I hunkered down at Wicked Weed in the Atrium and stayed for a couple hours. After all, time doesn't exist in airports, right? You're paying a premium to drink in an airport, each pint was somewhere between $10-12 if memory serves correct. I ordered the sour Burst and their oak cider; definitely preferred the cider. They also keep a barrel-aged sour on tap and the nice bartender let me try a taster of it. Many people were also stopping by for to-go cups of beer. In addition to beer, they have a full bar, so lots of cocktail options. One lady near me ordered a mimosa, very light on OJ. They also have plugs under the bar, which was a great feature when trying to rebook my flight on the American app.

Yelp
I stopped in here while waiting on my connection to Memphis. I saw there was a brewery tap spot I needed to check out. Its in a food court so you can grab food while you have a drink. Unfortunately they were tapped out of their beers I would have wanted but I went with the pilsner. It was kinda hoppy. They also have a full bar in case you want wine or a bloody mary etc.

Yelp
Charlotte airport is full of fun little surprises. This is a fun little "taproom", set up as a stand-alone bar in the middle of the food court, is very conveniently located, close to many of the departure gates along with other shops and amenities close at hand. The bar area itself is very nice, with lots of light, plenty of extra table nearby, some TVs, and an abundance of power outlets. I found it very easy to hunker down, plug-in, and get a lot of work done over a few pints. The service here was very prompt and friendly, too. The beer list is very good. With a decent selection of their own brews on tap, a few other cans and bottles from more mass-market brands, and wine and cocktails available as well. I was hooked on their Appalachian, a session IPA that is really delicious. The Day Light is a quite nice, well, light beer. And the Pernicious is a most excellent full IPA. For food options, you are surrounded by burger, sandwich, and fried chicken stalls, and you could snag a snack and bring it on over. And Shake Shack even lets you order via QR code right from the taproom bar. Prices for everything are definitely airport-premium, though, with at least a dollar or two more than you'd pay otherwise. All in all, it is a good feeling when you can actually enjoy yourself during long layovers. And Wicked Weed is a very good spot to pass the time. Anyone stopping over in this airport should for sure swing by for a bite and a brew.

Yelp
Had a great experience sitting at this little spot in the airport before my flight!! The bartender was incredibly friendly and attentive, even with the bar being full. They didn't serve food, but there were a ton of places to grab food from nearby.

Yelp
Wicked Weed in an airport, say less! When heading out on a trip, we stopped by the food court in the CLT airport and got to try the new wicked weed bar in the middle. The bar has 10-15 seats and 2-3 bartenders who were super nice and attentive, especially for a super busy airport. Their beer selection was actually massive compared to other places that I've visited. We got the freak of nature which is one of their IPAs. With IPAs it's important they are new and fresh because the flavor can be impacted the longer they sit. This one was super crisp, hoppy, and delicious!

Yelp
Service was great, the bartender was very nice and attentive, but they were out of the staff, which was the main reason I came here so that was a bummer. I tried a different beer and I didn't like it that much.

Yelp
I'll admit, the name lured me in. Out of curiosity, I had to see what this place was and what they served. The prices were outrageous for beer. The clientele was interesting to say the least. No real food, just snack type of finger foods you can eat while you drink. The ambiance was not for me. Looked like a circular bar countertop where everyone was sitting on bar stools. Too close to people you don't even know. Too close for comfort. Pass.

Yelp
I love that Charlotte airport has a bunch of these local breweries (well, Wicked Weed is Asheville https://www.yelp.com/biz/wicked-weed-brewing-asheville so it's close enough) with mini bars here to show off how our region is growing our beer culture. This Wicked Weed joins Olde Mecklenburg https://www.yelp.com/biz/omb-captain-jack-s-tavern-charlotte?hrid=-KP0GYmIVg1YsMviQ6Td2g and NoDa https://www.yelp.com/biz/noda-brewing-charlotte-2 outlets in the airport. This one is located in a food court they're calling "The Plaza" that is near the E checkpoint. A couple of other eateries are here. It's nice to be able to sit and sip at a delicious beverage with none of that "mask" stuff going on. Because you definitely can't catch COVID while you're consuming a delicious beer. It's the alcohol that kills it of course! Yelp
Nice little bar in the newer part of the airport; I love Wicked Weed in Asheville - so was pleasantly surprised to see it here! Grabbed a quick drink between flights with my husband and enjoyed people watching. I also enjoy that you can order Shake Shack to the bar without having to stand in line!

Yelp
Expensive Beer! That's all I can remember about this place. They had some interesting choices, I got the wheat, then the bill and the bill should have came with a shot so I would calm down. I would have flipped the bar over, but it's pretty heavy. I did manage to grab a seat at the bar and it took quite a while for someone to come over and serve me. Once they did, the service was good. I got the Elevation Ale which I liked. Anyway, it's in an airport, but I've been in other airports that don't gouge you so much. I grew up flying out of Pittsburgh where everything is price controlled so they can't do this. Same with Orlando now as prices are pretty reasonable.

Yelp
Pretty typical for an airport bar. Located in a food court they call "The Plaza" between concourses D & E. There quite a bit of seating around a triangle shaped bar with a handful of additional tables, that appear to be shared with the other restaurants in the area. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and made sure my glass was never empty They have 10-12 taps. While they don't have any food, they will let you order from Shake Shack from the bar and will add it to your tab. As usual with Wicked Weed, the beer was great. I had a Pernicious and a Freak of Nature.

Yelp
Such a great selection of beer in a central location of the Airport. We actually had a really nice break here in between flights. The TV had the World Series on so we were able to catch up on that while we were there.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here to have a beer with my lunch from Shake Shack next door. This place doesn't serve food, so pick up some grub from Bojangles or Shake Shack and take a seat at the bar. Decent list of beers for being an airport location. Seems like a lot of regulars stop here. The bartender seemed to know a few folks. Good sign!

Yelp
Great little island in a shitty airport! Decent options 12 + Stella. Service was solid. Beers are great. I'm making this my rest stop.

Yelp
I've never had such great beer at an airport! Conveniently located just past one of the security checkpoints (can't remember if it was D or E?) AND right across from a Shake Shack. You can't beat a location like that. We were hoping to sit at the bar counter, but it was pretty full when we arrived. Thankfully there's plenty of seating options in this area, so we ended up in a roomy booth where we weren't crowded by our luggage. I had the Astronomical Hazy IPA and it was everything I wanted after an intense work day. It paired perfectly with my shake shack cheeseburger and crinkle fries and put me in a good mood for my flight. Coworker tried the Appalachia-- I'm not as big of a session fan, but it was pretty good, too. If we'd had more time before our flight, both of us would've hung out here and enjoyed another brew or two!

Yelp
Had a layover of 3 hours so I watched the nba playoffs while I waited. The staff is great and so many choices, lots of IPA to choose from definitely a good place between layovers atCLT

Yelp
Again, I left without my purple carry on suitcase there. Flying out from here to San Antonio tomorrow around 10am would love to retrieve before I depart CLT. James Bailey. 843.327.2547

Yelp
So cool that the airport has a NC brewery! They use to have others in the airport, but I guess the pandemic closed them down. I wish my local airport had a brewery.
google avatar

Yelp
Like microbrews? Wicked Weed specializes in West Coast-style hoppy IPAs, open-fermented Belgian Beers and barrel-aged sour ales. It's near the intersections of concourses D and E at CLT, so If you are connecting at Charlotte, give it a try. Try the wicked! -
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
They take Covid-19 precautions at the bar area so seating is limited thus you might run into a long queue out to the Concourse, but I think it is because the beer is that good. If you like a cold IPA with a west coast hoppy taste, a Belgian fermented classic, or you prefer those fringe sours then this craft Brewery is good spot to rest during a layover. Definitely, digging the triangle bar layout... If you want peace and quiet to read a book order your beer before they close and hang out in the eating area after 8p.m. and you will literally have the place to yourself.

Yelp
Why are you reviewing an airport bar? Alright, hear me out. Delayed flights are the worst. They put an immediate hamper on your business plans, vacation plans, etc. So what do you do when when you've got time to kill and no where to go? Well, have a drink of course! Charlotte Douglass International Airport has been doing renovations for YEARS, but some of the fruits of those updates are finally open to the public. One of those updates is, "The Plaza." Sporting a decent display of shops and fast food restaurants, The Plaza is a nice addition to this travel hub. Smack-dab in the middle of The Plaza sits a small bar dedicated to a Carolina native brewery, Wicked Weed. While Wicked Weed has gone the way of ABinBev (if you know, you know), I have to say, the beer is still delicious and the name, Wicked Weed, always takes my mind to a cool fall day in Asheville, NC. Airports are this strange microcosm of people that are willing to accept that drinking beer at 10:30 in the morning is a perfectly acceptable activity. With airport bars come incredible conversation with people from all over the country with stories of where they've been and where they're going. That alone, to me, makes this place a great spot. Throw in the aromas of Bojangles and Potbelly Deli, and you have yourself a distinctly Carolina daytime bar worth your time. Do yourself a favor and pull up a chair, order a beer, and start a conversation with your neighbor before you start your journey to wherever it is you're going. The beer is good, the bartender is quick, and The Plaza Music is great (80's rock at the moment).

Yelp
Stopped by because they were dog friendly. They had a great assortment of beer (try the cherry key lime if you like a sour beer, or the milk and cookies if you like stout!), and the prices of the liquor were fair. It was a bit cold out, but they had a beautiful fire pit going! I can imagine its a wonderful place to go when its a bit warmer.

John J.

Yelp
Excellent service, great food and beer. Even though owned by Busch, they have kept their Indy vibe

Kim K.

Yelp
I love Kim and Mike, great combo of bartenders, so many places to go in CLT airport, I visit them at D concourse, even though my flight leav s off of A concourse, they are an asset to your company

Sean C.

Yelp
Great beer and food delivery!!! The service was outstanding and it was a great place to relax between flights
google avatar

Yelp
I mean, I know it's an airport, but $12 for a craft draft?! Luckily the beer is good and staff is friendly.
google avatar

Kevin F.

Yelp
Staff wasn't very friendly .. at least at 9 a.m., but the beer is cold and it's Wicked Weed, so there's that!
google avatar

Azaria P.

Yelp
They charge $25 for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, more than twice the price of the average bottle.
google avatar

Nina H.

Yelp
Went for brunch on Nov 16th and it was fine BUT then I checked my credit card statement and they overcharged me. I signed a bill for $17 but checked my credit card statement and saw they it listed as a $27 charge. I called multiple times and left several messages with staff and voicemail, but I never got a call back from their manager. I know it's only $10 but I'm dumbfounded that it hasn't been resolved almost a month later. To me, it is poor management and training but as a customer, I loose trust and question their integrity.
