"Smith’s Brickwall Tavern is opening at 1216 Chestnut Street adjacent to the group’s new pizzeria Porta and will follow the Asbury Park original’s model as a popular tavern with 20-plus beers on tap and a menu of bar snacks, burgers, sandwiches, and 'nom nom bowls' topped with everything from Swedish meatballs to turkey chili." - Rachel Vigoda

We went for brunch and honestly it was such a good experience. The food was really tasty everything came out flavorful and well-seasoned. The vibe was different in a good way… fun, lively, and perfect for a girls’ outing. The environment felt spacious and energetic without being too much. Our server was really sweet and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, I definitely recommend it if you want good food, good drinks, and a nice brunch atmosphere. I would go back again for sure.

If you’re looking for a place to watch the Eagles that’s not going to charge $40+ a person or you’re looking for an overall fun and exciting bar this is the place to be. The vibe is amazing. Live DJ, comfy chairs, and several TVs with the games playing. No cover. Good drinks and overall entertainment.

Google
If you’re in Philly on game day, there’s no better place to feel the true spirit of the city than this sports bar. The atmosphere is electric — fans in green jerseys, chants of “E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!” echoing across the room, and everyone cheering like one big family.

Google
Rather slow service… we had a group and blocked off a section of the bar and they were completely unprepared for us. No bartender assigned… otherwise a decent location. A great place to watch San Diego State playing college football on a Friday night.

Google
I recently visited for a birthday party and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing, with plenty of great photo spots that added to the fun vibe. However, the service was quite slow and inattentive. Our waitress was hard to get a hold of, and we had to request extra silverware since they weren’t prepared for our party. Additionally, the glasses for our mimosas were dirty, with visible smudges and fingerprints. One of our guests also received an incorrect meal, although they did correct it eventually. Unfortunately, we had to remind them to acknowledge the birthday celebration, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I’d give them a 3 out of 5 stars. While the ambiance was great, the service definitely needs improvement.

I may reservations online with my credit card to hold a table for the Eagles game . When we got there, we didn't know where to go nobody greeted us. We literally stood there and then walked around and then I went back to the hostess station to tell them I had made a reservation online. She asked me for my credit card and I said I didn't bring the credit card but I had booked online with a credit card but I wanted to pay cash today. She said well we need the credit card to take you to your table and I was like what? I said Well I didn't bring it and she said well we need the card to reserve the table. I said I already reserved the table so what was the point of taking my credit card online to reserve a table? So we couldn't sit at the table I reserved because I didn't have the credit card with me so we had to sit at the bar and the bartender was very unfriendly and it was freezing because the only seats at the bar were near the door and everybody kept coming in and out. The bartender seemed agitated with everything we ordered or asked for. Very very unfriendly at the hostess station and the bartenders. People were leaning over us to get their drinks and the bartender was literally just reaching over our food to give them their drinks and change. We were actually going to leave before we even ordered anything but two girls sitting next to us convinced us to stay at least until halftime. We did wind up leaving right at halftime and went to 254 bar which was so much more fun and so much better service and so welcoming. The only thing good about the Wicked Wolf was the wings. If you don't like your job as a bartender in a busy bar then please seek other employment. I will never go back here. Very disappointing.

Google
Stumbled here on accident after the first place I went to, was not showing a NFL Sunday football game I wanted to watch … Let me just say, Wow. This place was definitely an Awesome surprise!! Such friendly fun staff, fantastic music, & great food. I’d come back anytime. Definitely Worth visiting during the Brunch Hour.

Google
Wicked wolf is a must try. Vibe was 100% will definitely be returning We tried the $39 unlimited drinks and appetizers everything was great. And our server Genevieve was amazing and very attentive.

Yelp
Woo child!! To be young again! it's my sister's annual birthday week and we finished the night off after walking philly for what felt like 2 hours (25 minutes) and stumbled upon this club! the bouncers at the door were hella friendly (thanks billy) and the security inside kept a tight room. we joined in upon like 4 birthday parties and a full bottle service. needless to say the shots being poured were plentiful. Thank you to the really nice bartender in the orange hat (also a millennial) who grasps the concept of 'it's so loud in here' like it's not a nightclub. anyway the prices of the drinks were great. NO cover charges (that night) the floors were covered in confetti, and it was awesome watching jake paul get his jaw broken on someone's phone! #netflix ps. if you have a video of me acting up in a sombrero--no you don't.

Yelp
So Wicked Wolf is perfect if you were looking for party brunch spot. We went on a Saturday for brunch and the vibes were definitely there. They had a really good DJ and it was a fun atmosphere Now the service left something to be desired. While our server was nice, the food was slow to arrive and it took awhile to get our check as well. We ordered the wings which were good as well as individual entrees. I ordered the pancake sandwiches and they were just okay. Overall this spot is good for drinks, photos and vibes.

Yelp
Pretty solid place. Club like vibe, food was good, decent beer selection, staff was friendly and helpful. I was there for a podcast event/party. I had never heard of the place prior. I would definitely stop back in if I'm on the area. Had a chicken cheesesteak with a chipotle aioli, it was pretty solid.

Yelp
I'm gonna be honest! I loved Wicked Wolf! But only for their service and drinks. I went twice. First time was my girls night HH dinner. Reservation were smooth, thank goodness. I was allowed to be seated without the arrival from the rest of my parties. After my parties arrived, we order everything on the Happy Hour. Every freaking dishes on happy hour were extremely mediocre, unfortunately. But our server was great, she made our dinner extra special. My second time at Wicked Wolf was during a brunch on Saturday. I had received a specials from them so I figured I stop by. Again, everything I order off of the Brunch menu, I meant the food items were extremely mediocre. Drinks were delicious as usual and my server was great. With that being said. Wicked Wolf is the perfect spot if you want to grab a few drinks:)

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews, but our visit to Wicked Wolf Philadelphia was so frustrating that I felt compelled to share. The one bright spot in the entire experience was the hostess. She was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable--she greeted us with genuine hospitality and gave us hope that the night would go smoothly. Unfortunately, everything after that went downhill quickly. From the start, there were issues. We ordered a ginger ale, but the syrup had run out. The waitress brought a glass of seltzer and asked me to taste it to confirm whether or not it was ginger ale (it wasn't), and then offered a Sprite instead. A small inconvenience, but one that hinted at the larger problems to come. The waitress did not seem to know the menu and couldn't answer basic questions. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we waited 45 minutes before receiving our first dish--a burger. Oddly, our appetizer--nachos--arrived 15 minutes after that. We had asked for cheese on the side due to a lactose intolerance, but the nachos came cold, soggy, with barely any chicken, and drenched in cheese. When we asked for an update on the rest of our order, the waitress said she'd check but never came back. After another 15 minutes, we received one of two orders of chicken wings. We were still missing a buffalo chicken quesadilla and a 10-piece bone-in wing order. Eventually, wings showed up, boneless, not bone-in, and the quesadilla was still "being worked on." At that point, we had been there for over 90 minutes and decided to cancel the remaining item. As someone who worked in restaurants for many years, I never call for a manager. I understand that things happen and always try to be patient with staff. But this situation was beyond what's acceptable. We finally spoke to the manager, who briefly apologized and comped most of the meal, which was appreciated, but not enough to salvage the experience. The waitress never returned to check in on us at all. Bottom line: Wicked Wolf has a great location and an exceptional hostess, but the service and kitchen are simply not equipped to handle even the basics of a dining experience. Cold food, long waits, incorrect orders, and complete lack of follow-through made for a deeply disappointing evening. We ended up walking elsewhere just to finally have dinner. I sincerely hope they improve, but right now, this is not a place I can recommend.

Yelp
Stopped in for Cinco de Mayo with my old lady. The instant ambiance is sooooo nice. Keeping the traditional building vibe was a great touch. It looks grand when you walk in and if you're about to spend some $$$ why not feel grand? Lights, DJ, bar, big screen TVs, food..what more can you ask for? The drinks and specials weren't a bad price. Didn't try the food but would definitely come back to try. And for a overall sports bar it was nice. I'd come back and check out a game here.

Yelp
GREAT sports venue! This spot is really spacious, bright and clean! Wicked Wolf is very energetic, engaging and overall a hot spot to be in the city! I initially found this spot wandering around Center City on a Saturday afternoon and found it to be a great spot to watch some college football! Since then, I've found it to be a great spot after work to chill and be apart of some great energy and food! The bites are tasty! The Classic Sliders (pictured) are great! I found them to be their name, CLASSIC, filling and quick to eat! I recently tried their Mozzarella Sticks which were amazing! I wasn't a fan of the marinara sauce. I always have a great time at the bar, the staff is great! Definitely recommend checking it out when you have the chance!

Yelp
Do not go here! zero stars would be more appropriate, but it isn't an option. Made a reservation through OpenTable last night for 7pm for our family of 7 (2 adults and 5 older teens) This restaurant is self described as family friendly on opentable and doesn't request age verification or mention any age restrictions anywhere on their profiles or websites. Upon arrival door staff wouldn't even let us go inside indicating that you had to be over 21 to enter. It was 7pm! I requested to speak with management. To say rude is an understatement. He was dismissive and asked me "why are you bringing kids to a bar." And tried to tell me that no bar allows kids. Interestingly enough our family loves bar food and often enjoys having dinner at a local bar. I asked why they didn't mention this at the time of reservation by making an age disclosure, or on their website or on opentable that lists them as family friendly and he had no answer. This was an extreme inconvenience since we also paid $40 for parking around the corner. The only consolation is this place was empty and 7pm and empty when we were on our way to the car at 9pm. Also seeing other yelp reviews saying how crappy the service and food is. Don't bother with this place. Rude, dismissive, and advertising under false pretenses as family friendly.

Yelp
Classy sports bar vibes, came here for my sisters 21st birthday bar crawl and the service was fast despite it being busy. Love the fact we werent packed in like sardines too! Great music selection too

Yelp
Bar was empty. We were only patrons in there but bartender treated us like we weren't there. Ordered food, 30m went by, no food. Asked him where it was and he shrugged and punched the order in right then and there because he forgot.

Sara O.

Yelp
bet mgm people asked us to create an account for a free drink it didn't work and they asked us to for a staff members phone number (stupid i know) and the. told us we didn't qualify. the woman was very combative and rude and said she didn't work for mgm and couldn't do anything. On Saturday 10/25/25 at at 3:30 pm

Yelp
Around midnight last night, my sister and I decided to try Wicked Wolf given there was no cover and inside looked relatively empty. We were in line at the bar when the tall security guard informed us that her ID was expired but suggested that "they could work something out with us." Subsequently, a smaller security guard named Louis pulled us to the side and offered to admit us for a $20 fee, which we declined. To my knowledge, there have been multiple reports of security guards exploiting their authority via quid pro quo arrangements at Wicked Wolf that extend beyond monetary exchange. Don't go there.

Yelp
Looking for a place to eat in Philly, stopped in for some quick bar food. Decent bar food, bar tender was not attentive. I wouldn't necessarily say anything but we were literally the only Pat customers in the whole place. She was more concerned about chatting up her girl in the back. This place is likely a happening place at night but if you are looking for a quick bite to eat and drink. I would pass on this one.

Tina S.

Yelp
Stopped by to catch the end of a March madness game before we headed out for the night. The rating is mainly due to the amazing service of our server- I wish I caught her name but I was with a large party. She helped us change the channel on one tv to watch the game, helped us with our orders when the drink we ordered was out of stock, and quickly put our orders in before the kitchen closed for the night. The ordered wings, fries, shrimp, and fried pickles for the table and everything came out great. Only con is they were out of bleu cheese.
google avatar

Miles A.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, the setup is very welcoming and you are greeted at the door. Large tv playing sports game, and the decor is classy. Their menu has lots of different food choices, and also lots of drink options as well. Food comes out very quick and everything ordered was delicious. Cocktail menu is a bit lacking though. They do have an amazing happy hour during the week, highly recommend stopping in for that. Overall a really good experience here.

Yelp
Worst NYE experience anyone can imagine. Whole venue got kicked our at 1:30 when supposed to stay open until 2
google avatar

Vivian R.

Yelp
We went here last night for drinks and a night out. It seemed like it is a really young bar and the music was so loud. The bars were very crowded, but they did have multiple available to go to. Their surfsides were $10 each, which is standard but overpriced. There was a $5 cover charge as well to get in, which was cheaper than expected. We didn't stay very long because it wasn't really our type of place.
google avatar

tim k.

Yelp
They charged $2 for "rocks" ice!?!!? Also the bartender was occupied by her lap top the whole time. We all had to work to get out drinks. Too many other good options around to bother with this dump.

Mritika T.

Yelp
Bartender ignored us & did not accommodate. Could not make any of the drinks we asked for & pretended to not hear us as we were talking. Terrible service. Complete arrogance. They refused to serve us after & anyone that looked like us (racist).
google avatar

Yelp
We were looking for a place to watch Super Bowl and we found this wonderful place on line then walked over! The bar is spacious and the tvs are huge the barstools are very comfortable as well! Tge bartender Tailia was very friendly and offered many suggestions for drinks and food ! She was very kind and we ended up staying much longer because of her hospitality and wonderful suggestions for places to go while we are in town in the city! We can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
Brand new spot just opened in Center City where Porta used to be! Super cool interior with tons of Philly sports decor and TVs, multiple bars, lots of open space. Expected food to be pretty mediocre as I imagined this was more of a drinks-only spot, but I came away extremely impressed at the quality and variety of the food options. We loved our lunch and are excited to go out here sometime soon!
google avatar

Catherine B.

Yelp
$5 cash-only cover with ATM inside the door. Good music but incredibly crowded. What's the point of having good music if you can't move at all once you're inside?
google avatar

Julian C.

Yelp
These happy hour (hh) devours come all the way from wicked wolf in center city Philadelphia. They serve a happy hour everyday from 5pm-8pm. The staff is pretty kool and laid back. My bartender was really kool and she was very attentive to my wants. While here I ordered the volcano shrimp; which were really good with the Asian sauce that came with. I also ordered a margarita which was quite tasty . If u ever find yourself in center city looking for some happy hour vibes, check out @wickedwolfphiladelphia . Tell'em shimmy sent you! #philadelphia #philly #happyhour #shrimp #water #tequila #food #foodporn #foodblogger #foodphotography #foodstagram

Yelp
Wow. Had an awesome time here with friends. It is a welcome addition to Center city with a mix of party and chill vibes. They had a DJ at night so it gets going. We came early and had some drinks and food. It is a big place so there are a bunch of tables. They have a ton of tv's too if you want to watch a game. Really cool place. I will be back!

Jason B.

Yelp
As long as Mike tags is bartending and shaking his hips behind the bar I'll keep coming to wicked wolf !

Michele M.

Yelp
Great time with my friends! Music was so fun, loved the upstairs vibe. Chelsea was the bartender I can remember, super laid back and cool and fast!
google avatar

Nat B.

Yelp
Alyssa is the BEST! We sat and watched a 76ers playoff game and she busted her tail and made it a great experience for us at the bar. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if she is working!
google avatar

Donna P.

Yelp
Great atmosphere..amazing staff..good food.. The space itself is amazing.. The bartenders are personalable without being overbearing.. I ordered food and it came out fairly quickly.. Went up to Philly to hang for the day and had a blast..

Erin G.

Yelp
From the bottom of my heart, I have never been to a worse run bar. I believe they hired everyone day of, there is no flow, they advertise as a sports bar and yet the TV's don't work, food takes over an hour to come, I would keep going with complaint but I don't want to be the worst. Do not go. Ever. So many better bars nearby in Philly.
google avatar

Lam L.

Yelp
A huge sports bar with lots of tv but not a lot of seating in my opinion. There is a lot of space but it doesn't seem to be arranged well. Pretty average selection of beers. Bartenders are nice and attentive during an eagles game night!
google avatar

Virginia M.

Yelp
Thank you Wicked Wolf staff for being amazing and allowing us to watch the WVU Gand tonight on one tv while the Phillies were playing. We enjoyed the best of both worlds cheering on the Phillies and Mountaineers.

Nataliie O.

Yelp
Great Philly Vibe! Our appetizers and drinks were delicious ! We met friends from out of town and they all enjoyed it!

Maureen L.

Yelp
Husband and I checked this place out last night. Loved it. Our bartender Rachel was so nice and so efficient. We will be back to check out some games on the tv's that are everywhere.
google avatar

Bridget K.

Yelp
My favorite spot to be at on the weekends! They have High Noons and Surfsides...really all a girl needs on the weekends. The place was busy, but the staff handled everyone quickly and I didn't wait long for a beverage or two. The place is huge and gorgeous!
google avatar

Courtney W.

Yelp
they were so rude to my friend and made my friend leave for absolutely no reason. ridiculous. all for trying to go to the bathroom.
google avatar

Tynesha B.

Yelp
The ambiance is fun and sexy. The staff especially the bartenders were very nice and accommodating . The drinks were strong and tasty. The only thing that I didn't care for was the food. I ended up ordering sweet potato fries and the cheesesteak egg rolls. The fries were regular the egg rolls were hard and didn't have much filling inside ... they gave a basic ketchup as a dipping sauce ... just felt regular and didn't match the aesthetic and vibe of the place.

Yelp
I will never come back to this place ever again I have never dealt with a racist bar in Downtown Philly in my life we got there around 8:25pm Sunday night to watch the cowboys and giants the girl at the bar told my cuzin they are not serving food literally a group walked in after us and went to the other side of the bar to the guy that was working and the guy let them order food so I asked her why did you say the kitchen was closed she said o it closed at 9 I said well how did these people just walk in the door and order her response was the kitchen closed at 8:30 I said well which one is it because they just ordered and then maybe 30 min later another group of white people walked in and she gave them a menu now this is literally after she told us the kitchen closed they ordered food and it came straight out I will never spend another penny is this racist place and then my cuzin asked for the manager it literally took for the manager to come out and apologize and then allowed us to order food that server needs to be fired because she clearly showed she doesn't like black people and she should not be working there knowing you will have black customers and your racist! I pray this place get rid of her and keep the other guy behind the bar I didn't get his name but he was super cool and he took care of us

Bob S.

Yelp
The bar itself is very nice- however my issue lies with the staff and bartenders. They are extremely rude and disrespectful. When we requested our drinks the bartender told us to "grow the fuck up" and get a different drink. I'm not sure what entitles anyone to tell my fiancé and I what we can and cannot order let alone curse at us. We will not be returning to this business and will encourage others to do the same.
google avatar

Rayli R.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst service I've ever had. Spent $200 on a section just to get kicked out the bar for telling a girl she can't get in front of all the guys to use the guys rest room. She literally cursed me out and said she's going to get me kicked out. Everyone in line INCLUDING the bouncers reacted and agreed that I was in line during the situation but I guess she knew the manager since some guy walked out and said I have to go. The whole time I was being respectful as I can attest all the bouncers would agree and the manager just sided with her cause she was some whiny girl who demanded she gets her way. Absolutely pathetic bar. Waste of money. Terrible management. Girls throwing up in the bathroom line and cutting I the men's bathroom while the bouncers do nothing. Don't ever go to this trash bar.

Abby S.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero I would. I ended up here with a group of friends and I went up to the bar to ask for a cup of water. My friend had just ordered us a round of shots and the bartender (female 30s-40s) said "no. your friend didn't tip, so no" I went to the host table and asked for a cup of water and she said she couldn't help me. I ended up getting one from a younger bartender who immediately said she could get me water, but I was shocked that someone would decline water to a clearly dehydrated person who was consuming alcohol. I do not know whether my friend tipped or not, but that shouldn't constitute my ability to get a cup of water. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

Rayli r.

Yelp
Dirty. Staff is terrible. Don't recommend. Bouncers are obviously going through a power trip. Very pushy even towards small females. Absolutely disgusting food. Manager is a noodle.

Laurel K.

Yelp
This place is so fun! Everyone is so nice and I love the atmosphere! Great options and they were attentive to my allergies and even had Gluten-Free options.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Such a fun time, no place like it in the city. Beautiful space with 3 bars and confetti cannons

Ross M.

Yelp
This is the laziest place I've been to in Philly. Non-existent service, tasteless food, plastic cups, 3.5% "service charge" (for non-existent service). Was also told I missed happy hour on my first drink order "by 30 seconds" before it started.

Hannah B.

Yelp
made me pee on floor. bathroom attendant is a complete butt cheek. always feel rushed. been there 4 times and have never had a pleasant experience. do kot waste your money here
