I’ve been to W&G a few years ago and i liked it so decided to go back:) We ordered the burrata in bruschetta and i loved the mix of flavour! For the main dish, we had the pesto (+chicken) and mac&cheese. The pesto pasta was good but the chicken was bland. The m&c was also good and extremely cheesy. For dessert, we took the tiramisu as our server Sam told us it was homemade. I’m not a big tiramisu fan so it was decent. Overall, we had a great experience and great service!

Came here with friends and had an amazing experience. The service by Veijah was outstanding!! She was very friendly and we had such a great conversation with her, which made the visit even better. The portion was also larger than expected which is great! My friends' steak and lamb chops were cooked how they wanted and it was very tender. Would definitely come back again whenever I’m in Montreal!

Creamy, delicious pasta with generous portions. Elegant Italian atmosphere, professional and knowledgeable staff. On the pricier side ($30–$40 per meal), but worth it for the quality. Dined here last night, and it was excellent. Had the arugula salad, the veal scallopini with mushrooms, and the Oso Buco was the best! Had the Nutella cheesecake for dessert, but would probably opt for the tiramisu next time. Cocktails were also good and I would recommend the caipirinha

Service was ok. The mussels appetizer was a generous portion and tasted pretty good. The Margherita pizza & carbonara pasta were edible.. but not worth the price. We were expecting restaurant quality and this was like cafeteria food. You can find much better

Service was great. Tiramisu, mocktail and calamars were perfect. I had the seafood pasta. Pasta was just okay. However, they give a loooot of pasta full of seafood so you truly get your money's worth.

Great tasting food! Gluten free options available! Staff was courteous, funny and very helpful. Servers fluent in both official languages. Long noodle pasta made in house. Mockrails were delicious! Wonderful experience!

Had an amazing experience here as always! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, and it was absolutely perfect. The pasta was creamy and delicious, and the chicken was cooked just right overall a solid 10/10. We also ordered the bruschetta, which was fresh and full of flavor. The bread was crispy and baked to perfection. The atmosphere is always beautiful as well. The vintage look of the restaurant really stands out and creates a warm, inviting vibe. Highly recommend!

Pooh and I arrived in Montreal today for a few days of R&R. Both of us felt like Italian food so we yelped and found Weinstein and Gavino's. We read the reviews and decided to try it We started with the Mexican Spritzer which was basically a margarita with bubbles it was great!! We started with the fried calamar. It was easy to share with two different dipping sauces. The calamari was crispy without being greasy. I have to mention our server Joe-Louis, he was fantastic and had a great smile. He suggested the wine choice and was right on. Both of us ordered the Mac&Cheese and the wine he picked really cut through the fat and melded well with the pasta and cheese. He came by a few times to check on us and answered all our questions; he even talked about himself when he asked about him which was nice that he felt comfortable with us. His section was super busy and he still had the time to talk to us and he talked to his other customers too and that means a lot. We will definitely return!!

Overall, a very bustling spot with decent pastas and appetizers. Reviewing visit several months ago They started us off with bread which was good and then we got an appetizer and two pastas. Arancini was solid. The pastas were a little bit salty, with the meatball lacking in flavor and texture. Overall, the pasta with the shrimp and sausage was pretty flavorful.

An Italian spot on a lively street. I'm assuming due to the popular location, the prices reflect demand, so expect that. The inside looks really cool and is multistory. I imagine it gets loud and fun at times. My dad and I asked to sit outside to enjoy the weather and had no problem getting a table but it took 15 minutes after we were seated for anyone to bring us waters and take our drink orders. Also the table was still sticky from the diners before us. I ordered bread for the table and a Caesar salad. My dad ordered the Salsicce e Rapini pizza and a lasagna to go. Our waiter brought out our food. My Caesar was good, nothing too standout but yummy. His pizza was good as well, and we noted how we could taste the freshness of the ingredients used. However, he had forgotten the bread and had to bring it out after our entrees which was disappointing. It came with delicious pesto to dip which was needed as it was literally an untoasted baguette sliced in half. Once we arrived home, we realized the waiter never brought us our lasagna to go, yet we saw in our receipt we were still charged $26 for it. Not a terrible restaurant but with so many other choices in the area, I can't say it's one I'm ever recommend.

Despite the Formula One crowds packing downtown, Wienstein & Gavino's really delivered. I was expecting chaos with how busy it was on the street, but the service was attentive, friendly, and surprisingly fast given the circumstances. I had the linguine and it was absolutely fantastic; fresh pasta, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. A lot of reviews mention inconsistency or long waits, but that wasn't my experience at all. For such a high-traffic day, everything from the food to the service exceeded expectations. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Montreal, especially if you're looking for hearty Italian in a fun setting.

Standard Italian food that was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary but solid food that's what you expect. Entrees came out really fast and service was good. Huge space with ton of tables. Would go there again.

This was my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Montreal. The place was so vivacious when we showed up for dinner at about 6 pm on a Thursday. No reservations, and we were instantly seated. We received amazing bread served with olive oil/balsamic vinegar instantly. It was SO good! We ordered a Caesar salad to share and pasta pomodoro also to share. The Caesar salad here was both gigantic and amazing. I loved it so much. The amount of dressing was just perfect in every bite. The shaved Parmesan was generously applied as were the croutons. Great salad! The pasta, also shared, was delightful, with a beautiful portion of fresh mozzarella. I had a glass of Chianti, which was quite good and we took tiramisu home - it was delicious! Our server stayed right on top of everything and was just wonderful!

It gets loud and full of students. The food was not as good as I remembered last time. Too much sauce and not a lot of flavour. Service was impersonal likely due to the high turnover. Worth checking out at least once in your life, maybe better on a week night.

Was in Montréal from out of town. Landed quite late and wanted something yummy but close to the hotel, and landed on Weinstein & Gavino's. I would say this is a great place to father with family but I know you could find a much better Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. It's got a nice overall vibe. I really liked my salmon, it was very good and not fishy at all. I wish I had ordered it without whatever sauce was on it. The orzo was yummy and the fresh vegetables were good too! Our waitress was very kind and attentive to our table even though we were being chatty and taking a while to order.

This restaurant is beautiful, it looks like you are in an old school wine cave. The service was absolutely great and the food was solid. Had the calamari which was not overly battered and fried just enough. I appreciated that. The chicken parm was good. And I had the seafood risotto... it was fine... not amazing but good. There was a lot of folks so the kitchen was slow, not a complaint but happy we were able to reserve on the earlier side. I'd recommend trying to get a seat near a window as it does get warm.

We dined here on Friday October 11th, 2024 around 5:30-6PM. We made a reservation for 2 people earlier that day since we didn't know how full the place would get. This restaurant is located on the very busy and bustling Crescent street. This is a lovely restaurant both inside and outside - it appears they have 2 or possibly 3 floors however we were only seated on the main floor. There is a large bar area and lots of room for couples or group tables. The restaurant definitely fills up quickly so I recommend making a reservation or arriving early. We started off with a cocktail and got a fried calamari appetizier - these were delicious and generous in portion. Plenty to share for 2 people. The breading was light and it did not taste overdone or rubbery. We also asked for the complimentary bread and oil - these are only served upon request to reduce waste - however our server was working right by our table and passed up multiple times but forgot to bring this out until we asked again. My partner got the rib steak as a main meal and I opted for the ravioli. The rib steak was decent for the portion and price however lacking seasoning and somewhat just average tasting. The sides were extremely boring as well, these were steamed brocoli, carrots and whole round potatoes. No special seasoning or sauce to accompany this. There were no options for sides on the menu but I think fries would have been a safer choice. My ravioli was delicious however perhaps a bit stingy on the sauce. In all, I was very impressed with the price and portion - I feel like this is good value compared to other restaurants, despite the downtown location. I would pass on the steak or meat options and just get pasta again if we were to come back.

Place is beautiful and spacious,2 story. Service excellent, . If you want, you need to ask for the bread and olive oil, which is warm like a French baguette ,delicious . we had pear arugula salad which was very tasty and healthy then spinach cheese ravioli in cream sauce was also terrific about 12 pieces enough for my husband and I to share. And personal margarita pizza about 4 -5 slices. A little salty. Did not have the traditional pieces of mozzarella with basil on every slice ,it was more like New York pizza. Overall great ambiance and food.

I ordered via Uber eats. My delivery driver kept saying I made a great choice and I should eat in the restaurant next time because it's really nice. I ordered the Pizza Funghi E Cipolla and the Gamberi Macchiato pasta. I loved everything about the pizza except the goat cheese, it just didn't mesh well for me. The pasta was good but I was expecting it to be spicier, similar to Fra Diovolo. Overall both were pretty good and I would order from here again.

Epic ambiance, high quality food, and the bartender we had was the next level awesome (he made a great old fashioned!). They were open late which was amazing because we were at of music conference that went well into the night, and most restaurants were closed. And as weird as it sounds, their water was delicious. If you're a water weirdo like me, definitely check it out.

Been coming here for 20 years and have always had excellent service until tonight. Server (johnathan) was careless, didnt ask how food was I couldn't even eat my steak from the fat and when he came to get the plates I told him that and he didn't even respond. Told him the pop was flat he came back with another one and it was also flat. Was charged for both. Extremely disappointing, will think twice before coming back.

Service was great, staff is nice. Unfortunately, the cooks don't even care making a pizza with béchamel sauce. I ended up eating a very dry pizza, ask the staff about this, was told this happens often, cooks don't care. Overall place is nice, and ambiance ok.

I give W&G good grades for ambiance and service. It's a very nice looking restaurant and everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the bartender were very friendly (even to Americans). I give them mixed grade for food. My wife claimed her Caesar salad was "the best ever" and her pasta bolognese was good but my chicken parmigiana consisted of one tiny piece of chicken -- closer to a large chicken finger than what one might expect in a dinner entree. Perhaps they were making a suggestive diet choice by serving me such a limited portion but I go out to dinner to indulge -- not to have someone enforce my suggested calorie recommendations! In any event, it was a pleasant meal and we were glad to have found such a spot so close to the downtown hotel zone.

only dine-in. if you do an Uber Eats or door dash it's only half the menu to order from so definitely not worth it. if you call for take out know that you have to go and pay in person, and like a Ticketmaster concert it has to be the card holder, so no thinking you can sit in the car (there's no parking given it's a popular street) and send in someone else to pay with your card. until you pay they will not make your food. we obviously found this out after the fact as opposed to before hand to here's a review to help anyone else in potentially a similar situation.

What a great restaurant! This was recommended to us while we were in Montreal. It was a very cool vibe restaurant with outdoor seating. The service was very quick once we ordered. My husband and I got and shared a Caesar salad. It was definitely a homemade dressing. So delicious! we got spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna for our meal. Both were out of this world! We could not leave without tasting one of their delicious desserts. We got the Apple cobbler with ice cream and the tiramisu. It's the best tiramisu we have ever had. This is a great restaurant. I would highly recommend eating here when in Montreal.

The meal was ok, but the wine was better. Service unprofessional with little attention to details. Fast but not there for an experience just for the money. The ambiance win the palm as a great place but again the service we don't like...

Restaurant is in a building with a lots of history. The race car suspended from the roof is certainly a unique feature. Food was excellent and service was very good.

Our group totaled 12 so it's expected service would be challenged, and it was. When our meals eventually arrived, everyone seemed happy. I had veal parm with fresh pasta that was great. The interior decor is very interesting, with the 2nd floor partially open creating an expansive atmosphere. As long as you're not in a hurry, I recommend giving Wienstein & Gavino's a try.

The food is absolutely delicious! I enjoyed the pasta, bread, and wine! The service is friendly and thoughtful. Our server recommended the best drinks and pasta based on our preferences. We asked if we could get a picture and Romaine went above and beyond to take pictures of us on the stairs and on the balcony! This is a fun place where you could have a casual dinner or dress up.

Food was excellent, the drinks were good too. I liked the ambiance, very Italian! The apple crisp was delicious for dessert!

Great atmosphere with lots of seating. One of the most impressive places I have been to in terms of service. This was a well oiled machine, with great attentiveness! The food and drinks were also fantastic. My companions and I were swayed by the homemade pasta and had Alfredo linguini with chicken, pollo all "Sofia", and chicken Parmesan! All were delicious!

This place was recommended to me on a trip to Montreal but to us was a little lack luster, unfortunately. Lovely interior with indoor and outdoor seating. We both had pasta dishes (recommended to us as well) and while the pasta was good, it wasn't memorable at all compared to other food we enjoyed in Montreal. Lacked depth or memorable flavor. Average prices. Large portions. Service was speedy.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Montreal. Came here twice even on our trip and the food was excellent. Quality is great and the ambiance was good as well. I ordered a pasta dish and a salad and a glass of white wine and all were great

We were a party of 5. The service was very good. The weather was pleasant but we chose to dine inside. fairly clean not too much ambient noise. Three of us had Funghi Di Bosco, 2 with Linguini and 1 Capelli D Angelo. There was a little too much salt.

Bel endroit pour jaser! And to celebrate! Bonne musique d'ambiance... Not much variety to the food but very tasty. Les reservations sont de mise pour ne pas attendre en ligne but personnel are polite and fun, if a little inexperienced.

Unbelievable lobster risotto. 10/10 Risotto Pescedere The bruschetta burrata appetizer is to die for as well. Beautiful inside. Will be back.

The atmosphere and the veal parmesan were excellent. However, the evening star was Kamia, my bartender and server. She was outgoing, attentive, and very personable, which was refreshing and welcomed by a regular traveler. I look forward to going back.

Good pizza and pasta, but the service was sublime. A friend and I came and had dinner while catching up. Towards the end of the meal, we took a look at the dessert menu to see if we wanted anything, but decided on maybe just calling it a night and asked for the bill. My friend did mention she wanted to get me something for dessert since my birthday was this past weekend. I said it was fine, and there's no need. I was super surprised when the waiter came out not with the machine to pay--but with a slice of cake with a sparkler on it! He overheard the brief convo between my friend and I and arranged for cake!! Amazing attention to detail. The best genuine birthday surprise I've had in my 28 years of living haha!

Food and service were excellent. One of the better lasagnas I've had in a long time. my wife's chicken Parm was excellent.

Tourist trap... think Olive Garden Sorry. This place is over advertised online. The pictures are false. At best it's an Olive Garden. The three floors of dining should have been the first giveaway. No way to serve authentic food to that many tables. Our waiter did his best but honestly was a drop by guy offering nothing but staged recommendations. Both dinners... very bland, which was weird since one of our dinners had chorizo. If you want Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill at 2x the price, this is your place. Otherwise, move on and pick restaurants somewhere else.

We were missing Rome terribly lately so decided to give this Italian spot a try. If you're craving authentic Italian pasta, this is your spot. Fresh noodles and a variety of sauces you can choose from. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. Will most definitely be back super soon.

Lousy Tourist Trap. I was staying at the Vogue Hotel just around the corner and the front desk attendant recommended W&G. Considering it's a fairly upscale hotel, I was expecting a good meal with good service. Unfortunately, we had both poor service and bad food. This isn't Italian food and the they are not customer oriented. There are so many wonderful and authentic restaurants in Montreal, take a pass on W&G and try somewhere else.

TOURIST TRAP Service is good. Waiters and very kind, attentive, and sweet! However, the food is atrocious. You're honestly better off buying a frozen meal and heating it up in a microwave. The appetizers we ordered: caprese, meatballs, and calamari were all good, though not as warm as we would've desired (plates were cold). It was the main courses that really nailed the coffin shut. For starters, all the items were room temperature. The lamb shank is bland apart from the sauce reduction. It was chewy, and not cooked to order. The lasagna should really be called a soup. It is not a traditional layered lasagna in which meat sauce is between the layers of pasta. Instead, here you'll receive layered pasta with nothing in between, placed in a bowl of meat sauce, and topped with a floating layer of cheese. The veal was tasteless apart from the taste of what felt like a cup of lemon juice it had been cooked in. The breading it seemed to have was mushy and peeled off of the veal. The one who ordered it stated they would "avoid it at all costs." This food is so horrible it is beyond words. At most, stick with the bread and oil. An incredible amount of room for improvement!

This is a popular spot on a Friday night! It seems to appeal to locals, tourists and students. It's a bit loud inside, but the food was delicious! I had the insalada di rubico and pollo pesto pizza. Both were out of this world good. The service was excellent and the food arrived in a timely manner. I highly recommend if you are in the mood for pizza/Italian while in Montreal!

Great place to eat. The cauliflower crust pizza is AMAXING and as their salad-the one with apples was delish.

The service was fine, the restaurant had inside and outside dining areas which were nice. The menu offered quite a few interesting things. From the bar my cocktail was ok but not great. A standard cocktail which should of been better. Beer selection was fine and wine selection was good. Food was very bland. The pasta dish looked great but was so disappointing. Would not recommend.

This place is my Go-to. Price is fair and they give big big big portions which is very worth the money. The restaurant itself gives off a very charming ambiance, where it is fairly dark inside and illuminated by candles. Definitely one of my favs here in montreal! The service though is a little slow but it is certainly because of the big line up due to the restaurants popularity.
