Google
Taco cravings satisfied at Wilbur Mexicana! 🌮 I tried the bulgogi taco, chicken taco, and two pulled pork tacos — all were really tasty, with bold flavors and fresh toppings. The bulgogi especially stood out with its sweet and savory profile. Prices are a bit on the high side per taco, but the quality is there. Service was quick and efficient, and the overall vibe is fun and casual — great for a quick bite with friends. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Can’t believe it took me so long to try this place despite walking past it so many times! This hip restaurant in the middle of entertainment district has some of the best tacos you’ll have in Toronto, an endless selection of hot sauces and an open buffet of condiments. My wife had the fish taco, bulgogi taco and beef taco and I had the Cali burrito bowl. I’m pretty sure this is my wife’s new favorite taco place and the burrito bowl was really well balanced in taste. A final word on service, the host who took our orders had a great energy, all smiles and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back for some more!

Delicious Experience at Wilbur Mexicana! 🌯 I recently visited Wilbur Mexicana, and I was blown away by the flavors and variety of their offerings! The food was absolutely delicious, with each bite bursting with flavor. Highlights - *Tasty Food*: The dishes I tried were flavorful and satisfying, making me crave for more. - *Accompaniments Galore*: What truly impressed me was their counter with a wide array of accompaniments. It was like a treasure trove of flavors, allowing me to customize my meal to perfection! Overall Experience My experience at Wilbur Mexicana was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Mexican food with plenty of options to enhance their meal. Can't wait to go back! 🌮👌

Google
Ordered takeout on weekday night. Quick service and kind staff. Both bulgogi taco and Baja fish taco are good. Their sauce and salsa bar are amazing. pineapple salsa is really refreshing especially when u have it as a side with meat taco. Will go back to try more of food.

Google
This was our first time eating at Wilbur Mexicana. The Taco's were delicious and loved that it came with Nachos and a variety of Salsa's & Hot Sauces. Great customer service and great atmosphere. Would totally recommend it to anyone craving Mexican food.

Google
Second time coming here for the tacos and the tacos really hit the spot. Has the Mushroom and the Cauliflower Tacos, and they had a special -off the menu- taco with grilled Avocados. The mushroom and the cauliflowers are so delicious. The mushroom is spiced and cooked to the right texture. And the cauliflowers are tangy and have a nice kick. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the grilled avocado ones and found it to be a bit bland. Something I really like about the store is the open salsa bar which allows you to take as much as you like. Keep on trying new ones to go with the side of Nachos. End up spending way too much time around there! Definitely a fav!

Google
Wilbur Mexicana offers amazing food with great taste and high-quality ingredients. Their tacos and burritos are packed with flavor, and they also have a variety of unique Mexican beverages that add to the experience. The atmosphere is lively, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food!

Google
Food: the food is great, the best part is the salsa and hot sauce bar (which you can go and chose your toppings). I generally go for the original burrito bowl and top it with salsa of my choice. Locale: Very specious, large tables with ample of space in between them. Service: Half self service place, you order when you get in, they give you a number and ask you to sit down, they deliver the food to your table. I would go here with a medium to large sized group.

Yelp
What a fantastic spot on King west that we tried last night. The tacos were delicious. We liked every taco we tried. We got the fish, mushroom, chicken and pork. Even though I'm not a fish person, I loved fish the best. There was no fishy smell and it was crunchy and tasty. It's so unique to have so many varieties of fresh and bottled salsas. The habanero sauce was amazing and we saw that's the one that got over quickly. No surprises! The staff and service is absolutely delightfu, friendly and fast. Mike is super friendly and let us try the margarita because we were curious if marg was made in house and if it's fresh because it's on tap. It tasted delicious. Great customer service right there to let us try! The restaurant is unique in it's style and vibe. Fast casual with semi self-service. But then it's way more upscale than your chipotle. I wish them luck for their second location at liberty village.

Yelp
I got the takeout once of their beef fajitas. It was good, but would have preferred a larger portion

Yelp
The best quesadilla I've ever had! The salsa wall is an inspired touch and I loved working through a selection of them. Staff were very helpful in guiding me through gf options, lots of choice if traces aren't a problem. I wish I was more local so I could visit again and again!

Yelp
WILBUR MEXICANA . . I might have found my favourite taco spot in Toronto @wilburmexicana From tacos to fajitas, this Mexican restaurant has it all, along with a fresh salsa and hot sauce counter. We decided to try them out after researching for a new spot to eat at in the area. There was a line almost the entire time we were dining in and I definitely see why. The food was delicious! And I love how you can customize your food with the wide range of sauces and salsa. . . Bulgogi Taco 3.75/5 Fish Taco 4.8/5 Taco Supreme 4.4/5 Chicken Fajitas 4.3/5 Chips and Salsa 3/5

Yelp
Great Mexican joint in the King West area. My favorite part of this restaurant has to be the self-serve salsa and hot sauce bar. They have such a large variety and you can mix and match your own. Tacos are pretty standard price for downtown. We got the carne asada, bulgogi, fish and mushroom tacos as well as guacamole and queso nachos. I appreciate that they have some vegetarian options for tacos. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The way you order is that you pay an order at the front, then get a number and sit to wait for your food to be served. Unfortunately it's often very busy so there is a wait for seating unless you take your food to go. Overall, it's pretty clean and spacious inside.

Lauren Z.

Yelp
Food was good, extensive hot sauce selections. When we went it was super busy so it was kind of hard to get a seat. Prices are a bit high in my opinion, and mostly self service. We got our own water, napkins etc. Felt like of like food court experience but restaurant pricing.

Kirsten H.

Yelp
Efficient service and nice atmosphere for a casual and quick meal. Shrimp and mushroom quesadilla was very good as was the corn appetizer. Interesting display of hot sauces for anyone looking for heat. Priced competitively for the area . I will try the tacos next time since that is what they are best known for.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Came with my coworkers for lunch and ordered 3 tacos: - chicken - juicy chicken and creamy guacamole in a hard shell! - fish - fresh toppings balance out the crispy fish! - bulgogi - sweet, slightly charred, with a bit of a kick! Enjoyed all 3 very much, as well as the house-made chips and selection of salsas / toppings! As a spice and variety lover, I loooved being able to sample so many salsas and hot sauces! Even though it's an order-at-the-counter situation, the service was super friendly!! The staff brought our orders to our table and cleared our trays very courteously!

Jamie K.

Yelp
Absolute go-to in King West. Busy busy spot but always reliable tacos. Literally always get the same thing -- bulgogi and fish with a side of guac. The vibes are amazing -- all the hot sauce and salsas at different spice levels make this a spot to really make yourself a taco!

Valerie P.

Yelp
Spotted this place as we were walking by and decided to come try it out! The inside was surprisingly super nice, clean, and more upscale than we thought it would have been for a fast casual place. We got the taco supreme, carne asada and the cochinita pibil tacos. Our favourite was definitely the carne asada; the meat was cooked pretty well and the addition of the crispy onions on top made it even better. We were disappointed with the other two tacos but they were still decent at their price point. The star of this place is definitely the self serve salsa bar and hot sauce bar with so so many different options to choose from! My favourite is the pineapple salsa :)

Alicia D.

Yelp
What a gem! We were in the mood for something different and this was it! From the outside, this place is so unassuming but the vibe inside is so chill! We went on a Thursday night and it was packed! This actually made us excited because it was obvious this place was good! I got two tacos, one carne asada and one beef bulgogi and OMG! Both were absolutely flavorful and fresh! The chips were so crunchy and fresh too! The queso was so creamy and perfectly spicy (beware if you're sensitive to heat because it has a bite). My mom got the bowl and loved it! The ingredients looked super fresh and colorful! The service was spectacular and the food came out pretty fast considering how busy it was! I highly recommend!

Dhara S.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered mushroom and cauliflower tacos and made sure 4 times that the server confirmed the tacos would be gluten free and celiac friendly. When I picked up my order and got home I saw that they had given me flour tortillas. SO FRUSTRATING! This service is unacceptable. If I had eaten these tacos I would have gotten an allergic reaction. Pics show the receipt that clearly indicates Celiac and the two tacos which are clearly not using the same type of tortilla.

Lily Z.

Yelp
Really great place for tacos if you're looking for a quick bite! The meat is flavorful and they give you options between corn and flour tortillas (which you can switch upon request)

Jenny L.

Yelp
Dine in is closed, but there's a patio outside where you can eat. I ordered the cali bowl and it was so good! There was sweet potato fries on top and the meat was also good. I forgot what the meat was but it was the recommended one. I also love that you can scoop as much salsa and sides as you want! I love the pineapple topping!

Arisa P.

Yelp
Wow. We tried Wilbur for the first time when we decided last minute to change our Valentine's plans to a cozy movie night in. We ordered the Classic Burrito and Chicken Quesadilla. I think food deserves a separate review as a dine in and takeout, so this review will be takeout focused. First and foremost, if you're on Uber wondering how Wilbur compares to take out fare like Chipotle or Mucho Burrito, there is no comparison! Wilbur is a clear cut above. This is reflected in the price point too. But for your additional $4-5 per main, here's what you can expect: 1) Each main came with a side of what tasted like house made corn chips. What really stood out was how you could taste the sweetness of the corn. The chips, like the rest of the meal, had much less salt than fast food mexican, and were far less greasy. 2) No extra charge for guacamole. Guacamole came both in the Burrito and as a side with the Quesadilla. 3) less salt, more whole ingredients freshly made. Tortillas felt freshly made, and the burritos were firm. Not soggy. The seasoning is much more nuanced and varied than Chipotle. Do not expect the quesedillas to be as cheesy or heavy. And in general, you will not feel as stuffed as you do after mexican fast food. All in all, I don't know if Wilbur is more authentically mexican than other Burrito-centric places, but it certainly is a nice change and elevated from the usual chains. Note: we scarfed down our food too quickly to take a photo!

Sophie C.

Yelp
I love Wilbur! The best gauc and salsa ever. The tacos are so good, I love coming by here on my lunch break. Typing this review made me so hungry I'm about to go order from here haha!!

Rochelle C.

Yelp
Only dined in once (pre-covid) and had a great time at their salsa area! Since then, I have ordered delivery several times. I think I have tried most of the tacos and enjoy them all, without having a specific standout favourite. If I were to order only 1 thing, it would be the sweet potato burrito bowl! I bet it would taste even better fresh with crunchy fries.

Koji S.

Yelp
Ordered the fajitas this time, and also experimented with their wide variety of salsas. (I wish they were more generous with tortilla chips so that we could actually experience that side of the restaurant to the fullest!) I like it. It's pricey, though in a way that you'd probably expect given its location and refined modern decor.

Thomas M.

Yelp
Solid tacos. Great heat level. They also have a dozen home made sauces and about 100 hot sauces to pick from. Great patio as well.

Stacy K.

Yelp
while in town for a concert ai used yelp and found this hidden gem. the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly #GoBills

Owen R.

Yelp
Excellent chicken burrito. If it was $12; 5 stars! The entertainment district is pricey so $17. Great flavours and pretty quick!

Marc K.

Yelp
The absolute best! Their bulgogi tacos are a must have on every Toronto stop. Incredible prices as well.

Donovan E.

Yelp
The staff was really great! Food was filling and delicious, cute environment, again staff was incredibly polite and helpful, definitely a place id visit again in Toronto

Donald K.

Yelp
Love the tacos here. Very nice and authentic, really love the free salsas too. I think this is one of the best taco joints in the city. They have beer too if that's your thing.

Dilys C.

Yelp
Came here early for dinner on a weekend so there weren't too many people. But when we started to leave there was a line to order and not enough seats. You order in front, get seated and they will bring you your order. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the elotes and every taco on the menu. Favourites: - elotes - creamy, sweet and savoury but kind of pricey for one corn - the unoriginal - carne asade - baja fish - All the meats have great flavour, and not dry. Fish was nicely fried to a light crunch. I love the salsa bar! So many options! I especially love the pineapple salsa, gave a nice sweet punch to some tacos. The seating area is not that large but it is fast-paced whereas people leave after they finish. Tacos are ok size, probably would have to order 3 to be full. I would say the price is not as bad as other places. I'd love to come back and try their other items!

Jonathan A.

Yelp
The menu is simple and the atmosphere has good vibes. Casual but hip decor. And gender neutral bathrooms. Street style tacos, cafeteria style dining, and self service sauce bar. You order and pay at the front, take your table flag, and they bring the food to you. We tried the Mexican corn and 3 of their tacos. The Mexican corn had a nice amount of seasoning and a very good presence of lime. Tart and flavourful, with a slight kick. The carne asada was my favourite. It has a good flavour and in my opinion embodies the essence of what the standard beef taco should taste like. The al pastor had meat which was very juicy, and the pineapple provides a good bit of sweet and tang to help cut through the tortilla. Although the meat was juicy, the taco itself was very dry in the mouth. But a little extra lime, and it was a more enjoyable experience. The unoriginal had a nice flavour, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to note anything other than "its chicken, and it tastes pretty good" Overall a good place for a quick bite or a meetup with a few drinks. If you go, make sure to stock up on extra lime.

Theresa L.

Yelp
Decent tacos if you're looking for a quick snack or bite to eat. No indoor dining which is a bummer. There's a standing table and 2 sitting benches outside. Ordered 3 tacos: mushrooms, carne asada and taco supreme.

Ugsparc T.

Yelp
It's a little expensive for what you get. None of the items we ordered really had very much meat in them and the spice level was very mild, despite the levels indicated on the menu. Overall it's rather mediocre Mexican food.

Mary M.

Yelp
Ambiance: busy restaurant in the fashion district. It's a fast food/ service restaurant. You purchase and they bring the food to your table. Plan accoridngly as seating is limited. During the summer months they do have a patio seating outside but only limited menu. They have so many different sauces out to try. It can be overwhelming if you aren't too familiar with them. Most of them are not described so trial and error until you find the one. Mexican street Corn: delicious I would go back just for these. It was warm corn with cheese/mayo /spices. These are absolutely great. Vegetarian bowl: my least favorite. There was so much happening yet nothing tasted good simultaneously. Even with all the sauce it was bland. Tacos: were decent

Victoria F.

Yelp
Food is just alright.... BUT, the service here is on POIIINNTTT. Decent tacos. Decent fajitas. Love the variety of salsas and sauces that they offer! It gets quite busy here!

Arya K.

Yelp
Super nice service. Good food at a good price, especially for king st w. Definitely a go to.

Nilu M.

Yelp
Great spot if you wanna get some quick tacos or burritos. There was a huge variety of options to order and al for a fair price however there was a huge lack of flavour in anything you ate until you added sauces from their sauce bar(which was great). I felt like I was getting grilled vegetables flavoured with salt and wrapped in a tortilla. My stars are really going towards the tomatillo sauce which really saved the day.

Tish K.

Yelp
Always a good time and meal at Wilbur! I'd recommend the Taco Supreme and the quesadillas are great and filling! We also had the fajitas with half pulled pork and half chicken. The guac and chips are a must, to allow you to enjoy all the dips and salsas! Great flavours, and food was fresh! My only complaint is that indoor seating was still not open and the patio only has so many chairs for a group of 4

Will T.

Yelp
Wilbur's tacos are a classy step up from Seven Lives. Nestled in the King Street corridor, their Ritual pick up is super smooth - very efficient grab and go. Food is 4.5 stars: tacos are a sophisticated set of flavours that tickle the pallet (order at least 3 if hungry) and their steak fajitas are tasty too. Limited seating on the patio so plan ahead. Have always been a very reliable quick dinner. I do really like that they are open 7 days a week unlike other taco places. Great patios in the area to visit right after. Perfect for a casual friend meet-up.

Dominique R.

Yelp
I found this place after simply yelping tacos in the area. Wilbur had amazing reviews so we decided to walk to this place from the CN Tower. When we got there the line was out the door and around the corner so we knew it was a popping place. The highlight of this restaurant is the salsa bar. There was over 8 sauces ranging from mild to spicy. Elote 5/5 I LOVE elote! This dish came with two corn on the cobs that were generously smothered in cheese, sauce and greatness. Fish taco 5/5 It was lightly battered with slaw on top and my boyfriend added the verde salsa on top. California burrito with steak 5/5 The portion was huge. It had great flavors and we added the haberno salsa on top. Grilled avocado taco 5/5 I love avocados so this taco was perfect. I added the ghost salsa on top and it was amazing. Each dish comes with a side of chips. Pricing is reasonable and there is plenty of choices on the menu.

Rachel L.

Yelp
Not the nest tacos I've ever had. Around the $5-6 dollar range. I tried the bulgogi, Carne asada and fish tacos. Very regular typical tacos. I like the bulgogi tacos at the Haam much better. A but too spicy to get the flavours

Lisa S.

Yelp
My favourite place for sizzling steak fajitas. I missed the hot plates so much during the lockdown. I love all the different choices of salsa and condiments. My little cousins loved the quesadillas, chips and guac, and tacos. The guac is always fresh and delicious!

Danny P.

Yelp
The food came quickly and service was good. However, the food was cold and the meats were extremely dry. I got the Carne Asada, Bulgogi, Baja Fish and Chicken Tinga tacos with each one being colder and dryer than the last. The total for 4 tacos was $27. I definitely would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The food is not worth the price at all!!

Shefali B.

Yelp
This place is awesome! They have such a chill atmosphere with amazing decor! I came here for the first time on a Friday night, after looking at the menu, I was torn between a burrito or trying out some tacos. Eventually I decided to go with the Original Wilbur- ito with chicken, and I'm so glad I did! It was so tasty! With every bite I took, I could tell that it was made well and with fresh ingredients. I also really loved that it came with a side of tortilla chips ( you honestly can't find casual mexican restaurants that offer this ) which was perfect for tasting each salsa in the salsa bar! Prices are reasonable for the area and the quality/quantity of food as well. I also really loved how they encourage you to try out allow you to serve yourself many various salsas, hot sauces, and water. If you're looking for something quick, casual, and delicious, then this is definitely a place to check out! I'll definitely be back to try their tacos!

Charlynn R.

Yelp
Myself and 2 friends stopped in last Saturday looking for a quick stop for a bite and mainly margaritas before a show. We showed up and there was a line out the door but not long enough to scare us off. They have some menus to look at while in line and encourage it for first timers. When we got to the counter they took our order quickly and gave us a table number. For as busy as it was it was surprisingly easy to find a table. The food came out quick and looked great. The queso didn't impress me. It was not the creamy white kind I love, more of an orange tint. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The quesadilla I had was great, good portion and cooked perfectly. We also shared a good handful of margaritas at the table which got better the more you drank . Overall it was a very casual mexican place and pretty good for a quick stop!

Emily L.

Yelp
My go-to Mexican spot since it opened! The food is consistently amazing and the salsas are to die for! Keep it up ;)

Juliana C.

Yelp
This place is always packed, and tonight I found out why. Wilbur is casual; you order your tacos, burritos, or quesadillas at the counter and you find whatever seating you can (you'll most likely have to share a table with strangers). However, this is not a Chipotle: - The prices are definitely higher... - .... But the quality of food is immeasurably better (we're talking buttery, flaky, crispy fish tacos and a burrito bowl expertly mixed with guac, carne asada and queso fundido all grooving together) - They have margaritas on tap - and they're actually AWESOME Don't worry about the line, it moves fast. Just go!

Rehab K.

Yelp
I order this one uber eats for lunch often and it's such good bang for your buck - have not been able to go to Chipotle after finding Wilbur! Only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 is because it's more fast food like Mexican so if you're craving the authentic stuff, this won't hit the spot.

Tanveer K.

Yelp
Wanted to check this place out for a while they o my have takeout right now and you have to order through an app cuz of Covid we ordered Baja fish taco and carne Asada taco and one Cali burrito which includes carne Asada, the food came pretty quick we ate outside good view, took a couple sauces which were delicious, the tacos were the best tacos I have ever had in my life fish was crispy and not soggy amazing flavour the Asada beef was so tender, the burrito was huge and the tastiest burrito I have ever had in my life, this place knows Mexican food, I hope they stay open for a long time

Judy K.

Yelp
I would give this resto ten stars if I could. The food is to die for. You walk in and they have the menu up on the wall but they also have more detailed menus you can hold and chose from. They have wine and margaritas on draft. The Pinot Grigio is wonderful. The Mexican street corn is the best dish I've had to eat in a long time. The fish taco is hands down the best taco I've ever had. They have over 40 different styles of hot sauce, and then they have 8 different sauces you can scoop and bring with you. The pineapple mango and the habanero ones are really tasty. Very cute decor. The bathrooms are unisex and very clean. The staff is high energy and good vibes.

Yoojee R.

Yelp
Have you ever heard of Shigella? I hadn't until I ate there on September 13th of this year and then had 3 weeks of Diarhea, horrible painful cramping, vomiting and had to go to the hospital where they tested me and 3 others in my group with the same strain of food poisoning that we all had after eating at this restaurant. It's caused through the fecal-oral route, think about that one before you eat here. They were always my go to Mexican food on King street, but in the last 2 years they have turned me down when making large orders because of the lunch rush. they are unfriendly and seem to not want the business. the food poisoning was the last straw for me. DO NOT EAT HERE! Positive note is that I lost 12 pounds, I've since gained back...

Daniel A.

Yelp
Decent place to grab a quick bite. Like others have said, it's affordable for King West (~$10 gets you 2 tacos and some tortilla chips, enough to fill you up). Plus they have a salsa bar and adequate seating. By Toronto standards, Wilbur is good - the tacos are a couple notches above bland and the tortilla chips are freshly made. However, if you're looking for authentic Mexican, this may not be the place for you.

Geraldine G.

Yelp
This place had always been on my list of gotta try - when the line isn't long or when the place isn't packed. It has always been that way every time I happened to walk by until the other day. So my friends, weekdays say after 2pm is not so bad. Walked right and ordered my tacos straight away. Chicken Tinga, pork and of course fish. Oh my god....service is fast. My favourite part here is what I like to call the accessories bar. Can't argue with all the fixins you can add. I loved it. That section of hot sauce is insane. While you wait set yourself with what you'd like to add on to your tacos. It was great. My dream addition would be fresh guacamole. The chicken and pork were delicious but the fish taco was not my favourite. Sadly, I didn't finish that one. I tried covering it with as much of the pico de Gallo, salsa verde and lime. It was a bit too oily for me. That said it's hard to go wrong here. Fast, fresh and for the most part tasty.
