Having been to Wild Acre several times in the past few months after quite a several years long gap in visit, I can say that there are few breweries that can match the the experience they have here at Wild Acre.
Of course there is the great beer - but what sets Wild Acre apart from other breweries in Fort Worth is all the work they've put into their Beer Garden area. What used to be just a few picnic tables, is now quite the compound - with multiple outdoor areas to both dine in and for the kids to enjoy - there's a green space, a jungle gym, a large air/blob thing that the kids love, and literally a (manual) go kart track. A great way for parents to get to enjoy some local brew and the kiddos can burn calories here, for hours.
One reason we haven't visited in quite some time is that, well, breweries are a bit hard to visit when you have kids. Well, Wild Acre has solved that. Regardless if you have family, a large group, or lots of kids in tow, Wild Acre does have something for everyone and when the weather is nice, you can be here all day and everyone wins.
It's odd that a review for a brewery has the food and the beer as a bit of a footnote - but yes, the food and beer are (still) great as well. I think their chicken sandwich (Southwest Chicky) is one of the best to be had in Fort Worth and of course two of my favorite local beers, Billy Jenkins Bock and Tarantula Hawk still flow abundantly on tap.
So, if you're like us and you haven't been to Wild Acre in a long time, bring the family and stop in for a great afternoon.
