26 Places to Eat and Drink in Asbury Park

"Wild Air offers a diverse selection of lagers and wild ales each referencing works by literary giants. The brewery’s name evokes Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poem “Merlin’s Song.” Takeout is encouraged as you make your way through the tap list." - Celia Buckley, Melissa McCart

Saw the reviews and beer list and thought I would give it a try. The Outer Dark Baltic Porter and The Power Czech lager were very tasty and quite drinkable. The atmosphere is a bit eclectic, and the vibe is inviting. Have to catch one of the nightly events!

Wild Air was a nice stop for a Saturday afternoon visit. The interior is bright with a lot of natural light, and cozy with several nature elements present. The man behind the bar was attentive and polite. The beers we tried were good, I recommend the “Real Horrorshow” red ale. It was early in the day so our experience was very relaxed, but they do have ear plugs listed on the menu so I’m sure it gets quite loud with live music at night. I would stop in again for another afternoon visit when I’m near Asbury Park.

First of all this place is adorable! The interior design is so cool - I would come here all the time if I lived closer. The beer is also delicious and they have a good variety - it's not oversaturated with IPAs like a lot of places. It's close to Asbury Park Beach, so it's nice to stop by before or after.

Wild Air is a great brewery for lager lovers! If you are over the IPA crazy, you must try this place. Their lagerbier range today included American and Japanese Rice lagers, an elevated single hop pilsner, and a dark and malty Czech lager. Our favorite on draft was the Light Wing Rauchbier. They also brew up a well curated line of funky beers like Beautiful Little Fool (mango sour) and a saison with hickory bark called Boundless Shade. Yes, they also make delicious IPAs for you hop heads 🍻 but give their lagerbier a try first!

Used to stop by here when it was Dark City glad to see this beautiful space has fallen into more capable hands. The decorations are fun and inviting (sit inside a Volkswagen bus) and the menu is great. The Dunkle was a hit and the Brett pale and Berliner made for great tasters (just a warning no flights). Good music too excited to see this place grow!

Visited Wild Air for the first time today. The decor and overall vibe was welcoming and comfortable. The selection of beers was good but is mainly focused on pilsners and lagers. Parking, as you can imagine, was challenging. Just be sure to leave yourself enough time to find a spot. The staff was friendly and nice to interact with. We even learned a bit about the history of the space and the bar countertop, which was made by a surf shop. Happy to see a good brewery in a fun town. Will return!

I hosted my husband's 50th here this weekend and I have no shortage of wonderful things to say about Wild Air ! Throughout the planning process Dani answered all of my many questions. The "beertenders" Justin and Sam were super accommodating throughout the event. Our guests had a really great time, and the beers are delicious. Thank you !

This place is quite the experience. The company is locally owned and the love really shows. The ambiance is unlike most places. It’s somewhere you can bring a date or just hang with friends. The owner is super nice and welcoming and very friendly, stopping and talking to us for as long as we wanted. They also have an assortment of beers that are all fantastic not to mention affordable. If you’re ever in the area I would say it’s a definite must try! The day I went there was also free tarot card readings! How awesome is that!

Yelp
I was so sad when I heard Dark CIty Brewery closed their doors. I was pleasantly surprised to find this craft brewery that had taken its place. Upon entering the establishment, patrons are greeted by the enchanting sight of a VW minibus adorned with sprawling vines. One of the doors has been cleverly removed from its hinges, creating a perfect backdrop for photo opportunities or a cozy retreat for relaxation. In addition to the unique decor, the venue boasts a table shuffleboard. Although I had never played the game before, some of the regular patrons kindly offered to teach me. For those who prefer a more sedentary pastime, there is a library with a diverse selection of books to choose from. Alternatively, visitors can engage in board games with their companions. The beertenders possess an impressive knowledge of the various beers on tap and are always happy to assist patrons in selecting a new batch of beer they just crafted or recommending a tried-and-true classic, such as a Pilsner. While food is not served on the premises, they stated we are welcome to bring food in to enjoy with their drinks.

Yelp
Such a cool space! We need more places like this. More of an IPA guy than Pils and Lagers but they had a great selection

Yelp
ASBURY PARK: Bring on the breweries Jersey! Welcome Wild Air Beerworks to an awesome list of dog friendly breweries in the state while also offering a unique focus on wild ales and lagers. The beautiful tasting room has a natural feel with rustic accents, a cool Volkswagen bus perfect for a selfie, and great big windows. Leashed dogs are allowed inside the tasting room and we met Henry the frenchie! We cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Great brewery, was impressed by their beer selection. We sampled 6 different beers, 4 were fantastic, 1 was good, and the last was a sour that was not my style of beer, so can't say if it was a good sour or not. We're not IPA people, so focused on Ales, and one porter. Would absolutely go back again if in the area.
