Best Restaurants in Franklin, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"If you have a hankering for something beyond the basic California roll, look no further than Wild Ginger. Uncommon sushi ingredients like mango, pineapple, Cajun spice, and filet mignon keep things fresh here. Highly anticipated and excited about eating here. Had lunch with a friend and although the overall experience was solid, the food was good. Nothing mind blowing or exciting. Everything was pretty solid but execution or flavor profile could have been better. Little too much rice in the sushi or missing little something. It was good, just not great.

Google
This is one of those rare exceptional finds! I had the honey chicken, ginger salad, and tea. The salad and chicken was comparable in flavor and quality to rare authentic finds. On top of the exceptional food, the service is great. I did find it weird that I couldn't pay extra for honey chicken and fried rice but once I started eating - I had no desire for the fried rice because the chicken's flavor profile was already strong enough. I highly recommend!

Google
What a great spot. Food was amazing! It was cold in dinning room but other than that everything was great. The salmon and pesto gnocchi was delicious and was a large portion. Short ribs were so tender and full of flavor. Definitely highly recommend! We will be back

TL;DR: Incredible sushi, top-notch service, lively atmosphere—perfect for a date night! My wife and I ventured out for our first date night since welcoming our third child, and he got to be our little third wheel. The staff at Wild Ginger went above and beyond, finding us a table during peak hours that comfortably fit all three of us—car seat, diaper bag, and all. Their thoughtfulness made the evening even better. Our server, Ho, was outstanding. He was incredibly personable, attentive, and even went the extra mile by bringing us warm water for a bottle and checking with the chefs about making some older, off-menu sushi rolls we had heard great things about. For starters, we had the Spicy Edamame and Pork Belly Bao Buns—both were fantastic, packed with flavor, and set the tone for the meal. For sushi, we requested two off-menu rolls recommended by family who frequent Wild Ginger. The Poseidon Roll (made with black rice, crab meat, and avocado) was fresh and delicious, while the Baja Breeze Roll (tempura-fried with asparagus, crab, and a spicy sauce) stole the show for me. As if we weren’t full enough, we wrapped things up with the Red Grouper Curry. I completely forgot to take a picture because we were too busy devouring it! The dish was rich, flavorful, and came with rice, broccoli, cauliflower, and a small side salad. Even though we were stuffed, we still managed to finish every bite. Sadly, no room for dessert this time—but their selection looked tempting. All in all, we couldn’t have been happier with our date night choice. Great food, warm hospitality, and a fun, vibrant atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
My first time at Wild Ginger. I was in Franklin for a job interview and stopped in for lunch afterwards. The Scottish salmon entree was amazing, the sparkling sake, delicious. Sat on the banquette facing an enormous plate glass wall with a beautiful view of the patio and what appeared to be an exceptionally ambitious very early rose, if that’s even possible! Lovely view, great food. Will be going back.

Google
this time it was special, the food was delivered so fast, server was so polite and super attentive, and as always ambience and overall experience is amazing.

Google
I have been here several times and each time is as good or better than the last. I've had Short Rib, Bulgogi Wraps, Hot Rock Kobe Beef and everything is consistantly top notch. It's a must go if you're in the neighborhood. Here's the Breakdown: Great food with good service in a funky spave +5 stars. I might go tomorrow.

Google
Really good food and service. Worked very well for our party with the variety of food options available around the Asian fusion style. We had a wheelchair guest with us and it wasn’t too hard of a process to help him get to the bathroom. Plenty of parking around it and easy to get too off of I-65. Definitely will be back again because there were more items on the menu that we wanted to try than we could eat in one trip.

Yelp
Fabulous food and waitstaff. The best in Nashville by far. Been here a few years apart, and everyone, which is a treat, a new menu

Yelp
GREAT FOOD.. GREAT SERVICE.. Great dining experience! It can be a little loud due to the dinning area construction and echo... but the food and service make it one of our favorite places to dine!

Yelp
Get the fish tacos... you will not be disappointed. This is in my top 2 sushi spots for all of Nashville and Franklin. The service is fine. As expected. The vibe has a business lunch vibe to it. A little dated. But a large space with plenty of seating options. The bar area has a hotel lobby feel, which some people may like. Others, not so much. I love most of the rolls here.
google avatar

Shemesh Y.

Yelp
Good experience overall. Service was kind, fish was fresh. Overall very tasty. My 2 complaints: 1) The shef here tends to go hard on all the sauces so sometimes it's hard to see what you have there under all the layers of the mayonnaise and teriyaki.. 2) A/C was blading so that we were all freezing and all the hot food got really cold..
google avatar

Yelp
Used to be a popular, family favorite, but the food was overcooked and chewy, both the pork in the Pork Belly Bai Bun and the chicken in the Honey Sake Glazed Chicken. A total waste of otherwise flavorful food with good textures. The interior is bright cafe style. Service at the full bar was friendly and prompt. The wine list is good.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Franklin! Everything is always amazing! We started with a yoyo roll and the pot stickers. They were both delicious! My Boyfriend got the Mongolian Beef which we always love. It's flavorful and perfectly balanced with the veggies. I got the lobster bisque and it was phenomenal. I always pair it with the edamame and it's perfect. The restaurant is relaxed and good for having a nice date night. Great ambiance and feels like you have more than enough space. Service is always top notch. Lemon drop martini is also very tasty! We had a great date night!

Yelp
Another great experience here at one of our favs! Service was prompt, even on a Friday night. We loved our favorite dishes - Mongolian beef & Bulgogi beef tacos & tried a new Fushion Old Fashioned that was a great post dinner night cap! Love the vibes here, always!

Yelp
Went here before my birthday and literally everything was delicious and beautiful!! Had a large group so did apps family style with the calamari, lettuce wraps, dynamite shrimp, and spicy Edemame, then enjoyed the lollipop sushi roll for my entree. That particular roll is one without rice so it was a solid dose of protein that didn't leave me feeling heavy and weighted. 10/10 recommend and wish some restaurant by where I lived made it so I could have it again more often bc I totally would!! Still dreaming of that calamari dish, too. Most calamari is pretty basic wherever you go, but here they serve it over greens with a tangy garlic chili sauce and jalapeño ranch dressing. Such a better depth of flavor than any other calamari dish I've ever had! Enjoy!!

Yelp
Worst seat in the house. So close to the restrooms, fabulous filled the air making it difficult to eat. The Halibut was great but the rice was horrible. It had a spice I could not figure out that was as overwhelming as adding too much cinimum. To top it off the waiter was trying to convince us that kimchi was a Japanese spice. Needless to say we will not be returning and will warn all friends and family to avoid this restaurant. the last straw was how small the table was, barely enough room for two.
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
Super yummy dinner. Service was great too. From hostess to waiter a great service. Poke Rice Crisp were amazing as usual! Only complaint was that the building was too cold everyone had there winter jackets still on. Wouldn't recommend the calamari the sauces were just okay and they amount given is not worth it. The shrimp appetizer was amazing too!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Every time I go, it's great. Already hot and fresh and very consistent! Favorite restaurant by far!

Yelp
Everything here was wonderful from the food, the service and the ambiance! We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Crab Rangoon 5/5 Pork belly bao buns 4/5 Fusion old fashioned 5/5 Snowflake martini 5/5 (seasonal) Scottish salmon -salmon overcooked and dry but had nice flavor from the marinade. Gnocchi was top tier. I honestly could've had a plate of the pesto gnocchi by itself as an entree. It was very flavorful and filling. The plating was pretty good. Gordon Ramsey would be pleased. Server rated his top 3 favorites and out of the 3, we ordered 2. My friend enjoyed her Diver Scallops with crab on top with risotto until she came across something rather hard that while chewing. It appeared to be some real hard plastic or a shell. We informed our server and he consulted with the kitchen. A gentleman man from the kitchen came to the table seemed to be already on the defense and unapologetic, but to express it was "pieces of shell from the crab because their crab comes from a can and it's hard to separate contents from the can in large amounts." Completely understandable, but an apology would have been greatly appreciated. He never apologized, but just walked off. By any means were we looking for a comped meal, just more so making them aware to be a little more cautious in preparation. Had this been swallowed we may have ran into a bigger issue. Overall I would be willing to give this establishment another try based off the atmosphere and service we received from the wait staff and hostess. Their sushi menu looked pretty promising, so I would definitely try sushi on my next visit.

Yelp
I've taken my team from work here several times and it's always a popular outing. The sushi is good and they have some good salad options as well. I especially like that they'll cater to my shellfish allergy so I can still order sushi! Most places say tough luck!
google avatar

Susan Z.

Yelp
Great food and Bret our server was right on with our food orders. We had the sashimi platters and Scottish Salmon. Food was fresh which is key to good sushi. I loved the grilled salmon w/out the sauce. We were too full to order dessert but this restaurant is perfect for any special meal. We will be back and the chef catered to our special food requests! Lovely dinner with our long time friends!
google avatar

Yelp
Did not try any of the sushi items but the Wok entrees Garlic Pepper Shrimp and Honey Sake Shrimp were good. They were crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. The bisque was delicious and paired really well with the bread bowl, which was soft and not dry at all. Good casual place to meet with friends or colleagues.

Yelp
Food: 1st time here on a date. Everything was good, especially the red velvet dessert. Our service was great as well. Ambience is good. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Calamari starter is to die for!!!! So great. We had the Lobster Bisque in a sour dough bread bowl and finished with the Lychee Crème Brule - also fabulous. We always stop at Wild Ginger when we are in Nashville.

Yelp
Awesome Asian fusion spot located in Franklin TN! I was impressed with the food, service, and chill vibes of this place. They even have live outdoor music on the patio, which was a cool addition. We came to celebrate a birthday and they were able to accommodate a large party of 12 people. For sushi, I got the Crazy Cow without cream cheese since I don't love cream cheese in my sushi. Inside was shrimp tempura and on top was filet mignon. Usually I don't think steak/beef should go on sushi so I was hesitant but boy was I surprised at how good it was. It also had some sort of mango vinaigrette and eel sauce and it paired very well. There was so much flavor in one bite of the sushi. Their sushi rolls are yummy, well made, and fresh. Not pictured, but a must-get for appetizer is the calamari. Portions were huge and the calamari was cooked perfectly. Great dish to share with the table as an appetizer. The texture was perfect as well, no too chewy, but the right texture each bite. It was delicious. For cocktails, they had some unique flavors. I opted for an espresso martini and that was really good.

Yelp
Wild Ginger is amazing. The atmosphere is always great, the staff is extremely helpful, and the taste is so flavorful. Very impressed with them throughout the entire dining experience. Love their Honey Sake chicken!

Yelp
One of my favorite! It's my go to place and recommendation to all that ask for a good place to go to! We've been coming there for over 10 years! Celebrated many birthdays, milestones, etc.

Yelp
Always great service with Kyle! The food is wonderful and the establishment is clean! Definitely the place to go for the freshest and high end sushi! Also, the wok dishes are great!

Yelp
Such a Franklin staple. Consistently good, staff is great and it's always packed (which is the truest sign that it's a good place). Always recommend Wild Ginger.

Yelp
I was told this place is the best in Franklin for sushi/sashimi. I walked in to a pasty looking host and he sat me in the lounge after I ask if they had a sushi bar. No one was in there. I got my briefcase sized menu, walked back to the host and pointed to the dining area. There I sat up aganst a full length of glass staring out at Large Koi Pond. The waiter came immediately to take the sashimi and Dynamite Shrimp order. He brought my sashimi plate with fresh salmon and yellowtail arranged nicely except the sashimi was nigeri cuts. After the second one flapping around on my chop sticks my cooked shrimp dish arrived. This place is faster than McDonald's, I thought. I am into a more traditional sushi experience: everything fresh and the cook food delivered after the sashimi- the smell of cooked tempora shrimp overwhelms and interferes with the delicate flavors of raw fish. I asked for the manager when I noticed lots of dried up pieces of shredded diakon. He promply showed up with the same green bow tie and green shirt as he had on when he brought the cooked shrimp dish in all the same fanfare. I showed him pictures I looked up to show him the difference between nigeri vs sashimi cuts. He said it wasn't from their menu and started to explain the difference; I realized this was not going to go anywhere so I thanked him. The waiter never came back to check on me but brought me a check for the over-priced nigeri and excellent shrimp tempora. As I finished my lunch, I looked out over the Koi pond. There were no Koi fish so I left. As I got closer to the front door I pass by the pasty host one last time. I ask, why do you have a Koi pond with no Koi in it? He replies, they wouldn't survive the winter. I said, Yes they would, they are cold blooded. I wished him a great weekend and I walked out the door. As I pulled out the parking lot, I was convinced I experienced the closest thing to extremely tacky service as I had ever come.

Yelp
I love the extensive menu! The food, service & ambiance were great! I had the sea bass which was very good but was still kind of hungry so I ate off my friend dish, stealing 2 sea scallops for a little bit of my sea bass, LOL! If you come here, go for quality not quantity. I am sure the bill was high, but good thing this was a company paid meal. I did not share pics of all the yummy apps, they were all so delicious from the lettuce wrap, crab rangoon, dumplings & tuna sashimi! Will be back on my own dime soon!

Yelp
Coming from San Francisco, this sushi is competitive with some of the best on the west coast. Here's the order: The Mexican Havana The firecracker (minus the cream cheese) You can't go wrong with the wings either. Superb. Don't forget the spicy margarita.
google avatar

Dennis W.

Yelp
Food was great, service was great. Try the Rangoon. Good location. I would only suggest some better signage outside. Almost drove right past
google avatar

Yelp
Tried this while in Nashville and loved it. Pricey but worth it great sushi, dumplings and salmon.

Yelp
Today was my first visit for lunch. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area. The food was very good and flavorful. The service was very good and the ambiance was very good. It was modern and clean. They do have a full bar. There is a large variety of food to choose from. Most entrees are around 20$ and up.
google avatar

Christie H.

Yelp
This place was just delicious. I stopped here for lunch with a friend and we got some sushi and also entrees. The service was great, the place was quiet and elegant, and we enjoyed our sushi and entrees and I loved how many vegetarian options I had to choose from as well.
google avatar

Phil C.

Yelp
Good atmosphere, quick service, large menu. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Gyoza appetizers were hot, delicious and complementary with the dipping sauce. Had the firecracker roll, fantasy roll, and spicy tuna maki. Rolls can vary between $10-$20+. Lunch with two ice teas, taxes, and tip around $75. Just be prepared if you're hungry!
google avatar

Marla T.

Yelp
Great service. Delicious dishes. Creative flavor combinations. We had the jumbo lump crab Rangoon which was excellent. The blue cheese Caesar salad was also great except not enough dressing. The beef benkang (sp?) was fantastic. Very tender chunks of beef in a Thai coconut curry gravy with Himalayan red rice.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Franklin! The crab rangoons and dynamite shrimp were the perfect starters. So much crab meat! I had the crazy cow roll and my husband had the honey chicken. Both so delicious and flavorful. Pineapple and filet in sushi?! Sign me up! We ended with a slice of key lime pie that is made daily in house. Wow definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back!
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
We enjoyed our fresh sushi. Servers were all very pleasant and willing to accommodate us. We sat outside and listened to the jazz band. Totally enjoyed the ambiance

Yelp
Wild Ginger is fantastic place to get a variety of food options. Preparation is par excellence and the portions are generous. The staff is professional and attentive. I've never had a bad experience at Wild Ginger.

Dee W.

Yelp
This has been a great spot for years this Saturday the food was not up to par. They must have a new head chef. My wife says she is done I'll try one more time then I'll be done also. Service was great and the band played a good selection.
google avatar

Elle J.

Yelp
Food was amazing and worth the price. Service was decent and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. We are from out of town so we almost didn't find the place because the sign is blocked by a tree, I happened to notice the building number as we were leaving. Great place and if we're ever back in town we plan to go back. (I had the scallops topped with lump crab and spinach risotto and my partner had the braised short ribs atop a croquette)
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
Been here twice now, and I'd venture to say it's now our favorite restaurant in Cool Springs. The service has been incredible, with friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff, who have recommended some great dishes. The food has been delicious every time. The first time we went, we sat outside (in perfect weather) and had a relaxed evening while a band played at the perfect ambiance volume. (Can you tell I'm in my late 30s?) The second time was busier, inside, and terrible weather but we still had a great experience!
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Fantastic food! The lettuce wraps and the Blue Lagoon roll were terrific. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a beautiful night to dine on the patio!
google avatar

Debra F.

Yelp
Food was very good. Atmosphere is lovely. Live music outside. Great experience.highly recommend dining here.
google avatar

Rachael W.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this place especially the bar area and the food was really good. Huge selection of very intricate sushi rolls. Best crab Rangoons I've ever had!

Karen J.

Yelp
This is one of our regular places for dinner. Food is always fresh and delicious with a large varied menu. My biggest complaint is that they took 2 of our favs off the menu: the short ribs with cous cous has changed. That dish had the most delicious profile. We miss that dish. Please bring it back. Also the Tuna with Wasabi mashed potatoes. Every asian restaurant has rice but Wasabi mashed was so unusual. Also a seared Tuna dish is a must-have. We are hoping they bring these 2 dishes back.

Yelp
Excellent Asian cuisine! I live in NC, but I was visiting a good friend for the 4th of July weekend in 2022. We visited on July 6, the same day as my flight. My friend who lives in Franklin decided this would be a great place to go before leaving and boy am I glad she took me here! Love the atmosphere and the prices are also great, especially for the amount and quality of food. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Although I recognized most of the menu items, I did need some clarification on a few items and our server was extremely helpful with our questions and requests. I did not order a cocktail, but their cocktail menu was great. My friend did order one and I tasted hers and it was delicious. For the appetizer we ordered the edamame and my goodness this is the best edamame I think I've ever tasted. I loved the spices and flavors. It was the right amount of salty as well. Sometimes edamame is far too salty, but this was seasoned perfectly. The spices had a bit of a kick, but nothing too harsh or overwhelming. For my entree I debated on an actual dish or sushi, but ultimately decided since it was a travel day for me that I'd order a dish. I ordered the Mee Goreng with shrimp. DELICIOUS. Fresh and flavorful. I'd highly recommend to check this place out if you're in the area. It's more chill and definitely a local spot. Even if you're in Nashville it's worth the short drive and a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Nashville.

Yelp
The food (especially Havana sushi rolls and dynamite shrimp) is always great and amazing service as well! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous!!! Service food ambiance all 5 stars. Our server Noah made several outstanding recommendations. Can not wait to go back!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Food and portion size is always amazing. Haven't had an appetizer, dish or sushi we didn't love.
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
I wouldn't go back to this viper den if it was the last restaurant in town. My wife and I went there for a belated Valentine's Day dinner...made reservations days ahead of time. The food was mediocre...at best. Bland basic edamame was over $10! For like 20 little beans with salt on them! That's $.50 a bean! But the worst was that we had our little one year old child with us and they didn't have a high chair! We had to keep asking and they said they'd look for one and for over an hour and a half we had to have and feed our one year old on our lap! We talked to the manager and he was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered! He said it wasn't their fault and that they only have 4 high chairs for a restaurant with 200 chairs! Are you kidding me? This is Franklin! There are many families that could use all four on their own! He said his name is Lefterrace Tsavaris. I'd fire him in a heartbeat if he was working for me. Total jerk and zero hospitality or kindness. They definitely just lost us as customers for good!
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
Very disappointing! I had family in town from out of state for my birthday and we booked on Open Table awhile back, which we've always used for Wild Ginger and it was still listed on Yelp. We booked dinner on my actual birthday (landing on a Saturday). The day before I got a text confirming if we'd be there. We show up and the guy tells us they no longer use Open Table so my reservations were cancelled. Happy birthday to me! So now on a Saturday night, all ready for dinner we are headed back home. So much for making plans ahead to enjoy my birthday. Wild Ginger used to be one of my favorites. They told me it would be at least a 1.5 hour wait if we wanted to eat there. They didn't accommodate us at all, what horrible service.
google avatar

S B.

Yelp
Wild Ginger levels up there with some of our favorite places in the San Francisco Bay Area. We're not foodies but tend to know what we're looking for.
