Wild Goose Bakery - Forest Gate Arches

A truly wonderful local bakery, run by a warm and dedicated owner. It’s always a pleasure to stop by for their delicious coffee, a great selection of hot and cold food, and an incredible range of sweets and cakes. The space is welcoming, dog-friendly, and offers plenty of seating. I really value this place and the people behind it — a genuine gem in the community.

What a cool place. Amazingly tasty breakfast arrangements. We had the omelette, shakshuka and avocado breakfasts. Very special: The owner comes to the table end and explains about the foods, what it is (special tomatoes, i.e.), where it comes from (recipes and locally sourced), and that he adjusts the recipes due to seasonal availability if the ingredients. We felt very special. He was also happy to share his knowledge on how to make something. Thank you, Wild Goose Team, for this special treat.

Charming little bakery under the train arches in Forest Gate. Breads were delicious! We had some good drinks and sat in the pleasant outdoor seating area. Recommend!!

Excellent cake for my partners birthday! Lovely take on a Victoria sponge! Wild Goose were able to make the cake on one days notice, which was amazing. Also really reasonable price, I think the size and quality for value was brilliant!

WOW WOW WOW I’ve just had the best avocado toast ever. Absolutely delicious sourdough bread. Quality of each product was amazing. On top of that it was served by a passionate chef and owner of the place! Love seeing someone successful who is enjoying their business. I will definitely be a regular customer.

Does their sourdough very well with great hydration and crusty crumb. Great service and staff attentiveness! Easy to get to with outside sitting area. Paid parking if driving. Good way to catch up with coffee and enjoy great pastries especially in the spring to autumn weather. Very good value for their artisan products.

I’ve lived in the area all my life, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to finally visit The Wild Goose Bakery but I’m so glad I did. It’s an absolute gem to have here in Forestgate. The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavour, clearly made with quality ingredients and real care. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The owner was also lovely and chatty, adding a personal and friendly touch that really stood out. A fantastic local spot, I’ll definitely be returning (oh and for the jerk chicken he mentioned 🤤

I bought very nice sourdough loaves from them in the past, so today I popped in for an almond croissant for a quick breakfast before my flight, and unfortunately it wasn't as good as their bread. For some reason the pastry was chewy and dry with very little filling. Will stick to the bread next time I visit.
