A wonderful visit today decided last minute with wonderful, helpful, courteous staff, striving to give each visitor an amazing time. The amount of delicious food given for the price is refreshing in today’s world of high prices, with also knowing your waitress and supporting staff want you to enjoy your visit. The orange slices with cinnamon were so refreshing and the pancakes so fluffy and fresh with a special mini carafe of maple syrup, the scrambled eggs so rich and delicious, the bacon and sausage so tasty, among so many other delicious items, and a surprise that they had also my favorite bagels I have not had in along time, blueberry bagels with delicious orange butter! Also really good sweet tea! And the food is brought out to be enjoyed on really pretty dish ware while enjoying a beautifully designed restaurant! We will be coming back! Thank you to Courtney and Ty and the whole staff for anything we needed during our visit!

Y’all come! The Wild Onion continues to delight us each time we visit, (which is becoming more frequently!). This modest location is packed with tasty goodness and should not be missed! The dining room feels familiar and welcoming, the staff is genuinely friendly and the food…well, words can’t adequately describe how delicious each main course and side tastes. Everything is seasoned just right and reminds me of suppers at my grandparents NC homes “back in the day”. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and variety. Please add this sweet spot to your options. You’ll be glad you did!

Definitely a hidden gem in Randolph County - make that trip to Randleman to experience some of the most delicious food to ever tempt your tastebuds - The 30 minute drive was well worth our time…absolutely delicious food, giant portions (so go hungry and wear those elastic waist pants😂) a quaint homey atmosphere plus top-notch attentive & friendly staff! I can’t wait to go back 🤩 We had Banana Pudding Pancakes and Meatloaf so a breakfast offering and a lunch offering made for the best brunch possible which ended with yummy peach cobbler for dessert

It took 45 minutes to ever get our food. I ordered a half rack of ribs and when I got them they were burned, black in the bottom. Took a bite and they were so badly burnt I couldn’t eat them. The side of potatoes were roasted sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. The sweet potatoes were burnt. They brought out more ribs and they weren’t cooked all the way and had no flavor. I boxed them up to cook more at home. The mini dessert was so dry, you couldn’t eat it.

The Wild Onion has delicious food and great service. Their entrees and sides rotate, but they always have something delicious on the menu. All meals come with a mini dessert and unlimited sides. It is a cute little restaurant!

Great meatloaf! Mashed potatoes, and baked beans were good.. the pork chop was good but super small and the desserts are good. Chicken was dry.

We had a delicious meal this evening. Started out with the spinach dip and chips as an appetizer. I had pork chops (one of my favorites) and my husband had orange chicken. Everything was fresh, hot, and yummy. We had great service, our waitress kept our glasses full.

6 friends, all new to this restaurant - let’s try Wild Onion. Waitstaff ensured knowing if this was our first time & it was. We were all amazed by finding a restaurant serving family style sides. I selected the breakfast nachos after changing mind from the fried mushrooms (and something else with which sounded delightful) - decisions decisions! At first I thought wasn’t going to be enough salsa, but it was perfect amount. The taters were good & had 2 slices of watermelon as well. The other friends mostly ordered the country style steak & oh! the family style sides ! Plus dessert choice ! I heard the blueberry cobbler dessert was delicious, however our timing was off as everyone else had selected as well & of the four ordered none was left & then finally one appeared at the table and bites were shared & joyful descriptions & must try were said. The peanut butter pie thoughts weren’t what we expected in our minds, but really good. Nothing like it touched my lips before. Will have to come back for the fried mushrooms after days of wondering if I made the correct decision. LOL ! still thinking about the meal & experience of Wild Onion 4 days later. Hopefully, now finding the place & many Sundays after church, hoping to go back sooner than later.

Yelp
We went for a Sunday brunch. There were 4 adults and 1 child. I'd recommend calling or asking upon arrival about options available for kids. The day we went, pork chop was one of a few kids items. Thankfully they were very accommodating and allowed us to bring in something for my weirdly picky toddler. The menu changes daily, which is nice! You can follow them on Facebook and get updated every day they're open about the menu. Two of us ordered off the lunch menu while the other two ordered breakfast. The sides are family style and very tasty. Every order gets a dessert. I had a lemon cupcake--lemon isn't my favorite but I'd consider going back just for the cupcake.

Yelp
Yuck started off with dried food on forks and knives. Food taste like eating dried cardboard. Never again and will not recommend

Yelp
Unbelievable, we got another one guys. Not in a good way. The men's restroom lock, doesn't work. I had someone walk in on me during my private time. The lady in the blue shirt, was incredibly rude. They prioritize staff over customers, and I feel unvalued as a human being. I was pressed and harassed by the staff, attempting to rush me out. A bombardment of questions. I'm not going to be coming back, this is absolutely ridiculous. What a waste of good cooks. The food is absolutely great, but the service is god awful.

Yelp
We finally stopped at The Wild Onion, and absolutely love it! The staff was so nice and friendly, and the food was awesome. Homemade Southern style food, with delicious sides! My husband has to have a second piece of the chocolate cake. We sat on patio, and enjoyed every minute. We are now coming back weekly. Great little gem of a restaurant.

Yelp
Sweet independent restaurant. Good value. Steak was excellent, crab cake not so much. Good sides.

Yelp
Great hidden gem in a place you would not expect it to be. Food is gourmet class in taste and the country cooking approach is the strength of the menu. Desserts are first class.

Yelp
Place is off the wall. We will be back. Just found it by luck while working down in Randleman. Family style dining. Menu changes with fresh availability. About 10 entrees and then unlimited sides and desert are included in fantastic price.

Yelp
We visited today at 1pm. Food took 45 minutes to come out and was incredibly salty. Food was over cooked and they made a substitution of buttered noddles without evening asking (in place of dressing and gravy). Service was extremely slow and dessert was not available as advertised. This was my first and last visit. Highly disappointed.

Yelp
I would leave a half star but unfortunately that is not an option. The food was not good at all. The only thing that was at least half way decent was the pot roast. The beans were not done. The cabbage was not seasoned properly. The egg noodles were dry and who would serve plain noodles as a side dish? This was absolutely absurd. The staff wasn't even remotely attentive and were rude. Won't be coming back that's for sure!

Randall M.

Yelp
Never seen a restaurant like this one, you NEVER know if it's gonna be open. Been this way for years!
