Wild Rose Tavern

Came here for a brunch/lunch. I got the chilli and it was delicious and a large portion! I would definitely get it again. We sat outside and it was very peaceful and beautiful I loved it. We even saw a coyote! Service was great, and really the price wasn’t bad for the location and other factors.

A great place to cool off, enjoy some cold drinks and even get a tasty bite in a place like Death Valley where all of the above can be somewhat hard to come by. I should note, there are a couple of other establishments in the Furnace Creek Ranch that also serve food and beverages such as the Last Kind Word Saloon, which is nice, I kind of enjoy this place more being that it's tucked away and at least during our recent visit, not as crowded. As always, my wife and I and friends of ours, all saddled up to the bar and enjoyed some whiskey but also got some of their chips and cheese dip which was very tasty. Service was good and friendly as well. It might be worth noting that when we got here, it was about 4 PM and we were about the only people inside but we did hang out for a while and before we left, around 6 PM, it was considerably more crowded. There are games to play like darts and shuffle board and there is seating outside as well and it's a perfect place to watch the sun go down. Plenty of parking can be found out front.

As others have shared there are limited dining choices inside Death Valley National Park. The Oasis in Death Valley is literally an Oasis in the valley where there is the only lodging in the National Park as well as any dining (and a gas station). The other dining options were far too crowded (with longer wait times) so we make our way over to the Wild Rose Tavern. There are many large TVs with sports playing (not our cup of tea) so we opted to sit on the outside covered deck with views of the mountains in the distance. We enjoyed a Caesar Salad and an oder of Chips, Queso and Salsa. Prices were reasonable considering the location - the salad was a nice sized portion and tasty. The chips were accompanied by fire roasted salsa and poblano Chile queso dip which I really enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive - we were there in the mid-afternoon and I believe it can get crowded closer to traditional meal times. We would return here on a return visit to Death Valley.

The employees were great and super nice! The place looks good and nice selection of draft bears considering we’re at Death Valley. The food is very expensive and small portion size, the tuna sandwich was the biggest let down, it costs a lot and it’s the smallest sandwich ever. I would recommend to come only for drinks.

The best food at the ranch wasn't able to save the horrible bar tender's service at this restaurant. I wish that I taken the name of the bartender (tall, slim white men) at the Wldrose Pub. He was angry for some reason, kept cursing and had a bad attitude towards everyone. He specifically was extremely rude with family who came in (it was at around 7pm) trying to get sitted and were dismissed by him in the worst manner statating that they needed to "leave quick" since he needed to lock the door. Please provide some kind of positive costumer service training to your front of the house staff members.

Inside AC was so strong that we went on the terrace. Great view to the green field with palms and trees but not cleaned and with spotted chairs. Compensating we were by water mist and gentle afternoon breeze. The service is far from polite, ambient inside is decent - it’s in the middle of the desert after all and IPA is great.

Honestly, this place was pretty underwhelming. With limited dining options in Death Valley, it’s a decent choice by default—but that doesn’t mean it’s a great one. We didn’t even think to take pictures because the food just wasn’t memorable. My boyfriend ordered the sliders, and I had the burger, and both were just… okay. The presentation was nothing special, and the flavors were pretty lackluster. On the bright side, our server was fantastic—funny, attentive, and genuinely made our experience better. We also got a table by the window, which offered lovely views of the palm trees and golf course, giving the place a bit of a Palm Springs vibe. If you’re dining at the Ranch Plaza, I’d recommend skipping this spot and heading to the ice cream parlor instead.

Amazing pizza, while expensive, it's a really pretty place. The staff were great and the food delicious.

Stopped here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was the middle of the afternoon. Walk up to the restaurant surrounded by date palms. Beautiful outside. The room and setting are comfortable, clean, and casual. It wasn't crowded. Service was efficient and curt. Tuna panini was good with side salad, rosemary chicken sandwich with potato salad also good, shrimp Louie salad solid, blue moon pizza was the highlight. Prices were reasonable compared to the other sit-down eateries that are part of The Oasis/Xanterra properties.

There are two entries for the wild Rose tavern for some reason so I'll probably post this review twice. First of all the hours are wrong on yelp. It was already well closed when we popped in and turned out they were still serving food well after 7 PM. They had a limited menu image attached. But all the other restaurants are either closed or had hour plus waits. Simple food done well. Being able to walk in and still serving food is a major bonus.

Waited over 1 hr 15 minutes for a salad and humas. Got there at 12:30 pm. Few people in tavern. I ordered one beer. We ordered some chips while waiting. I ordered second beer. After 45 minutes my wife began asking about her salad. At 1hour the humas came. After 1 hour and 15 minute I asked for the bill. Less the salad that never came. My wife was not happy. Never go here. Even the staff to us to scan the QR code and complain because "local managers never listen to us. We need a second person in the kitchen." Waiter took off (comped us) price of chips. Nice people who are themselves are frustrated with working so short-handed. Don't bother trying here. Go up to stovepipe. As others have suggested.

We entered the restaurant and was surprised to see it empty, the hostess seated us. She mentioned they are out of basil so can't do few items. Then the server came and said they are out of Italian veg as well, so we walked right out and knew why the place was empty.

We came here last night for dinner and waited 1 hour for food when it finally came out at 6:55 pm. So crowded during dinner even though it's a Monday night. We had to seat ourselves and order from the bartender behind the counter because no wait staff to assist. Food was just mediocre at best. We ordered pepperoni flatbread, turkey sandwich, loaded nachos and bratwurst. They ran out of sauerkraut. Ran out of buffalo wings.

The food here compared to whats around is a 5/5. Compared to the bay area, id say 3/5. However, given the lack of food options around, this place is amazing! The service was great, great waiters and they even have board games while you wait! The ambiance is great as well, super clean and lively area. :)

Food (3.75/5): Good value in comparison to many other Death Valley restaurants. I had the bbq chicken salad, turkey BLT, and bbq chicken wings. The bbq chicken wings were advertised as a pound of chicken wings, but this did not feel like the case--it felt like maybe 1/3 lb. The bbq chicken salad and turkey BLT were okay, but wish there was more meat in both dishes. Overall, the taste of the food was mediocre but edible. Service (3.25/5): Both staff and guests gave me strange vibes. It almost felt unwelcoming in a way; my party and I were all POC, which may have played a role. It wasn't anything direct, and maybe I had a bad read initially, but the service felt better from staff toward the end, which is why I'm not rating the service worse. Ambiance (4/5): Interior is very nice and clean. It might be next to a golf course? And there's a gift shop within this restaurant as well.

Found this place as a cheaper alternative to the buffet at The Ranch. The food was good, not really great, but a great value for the price. We ended up feeding 2 for less than the price of 1 person at the buffet. The staff was very friendly but kind of slow because it was slightly understaffed. Drink prices were definitely higher than other places in Death Valley so we avoided those tonight. Overall, probably the best restaurant in Death Valley, which honestly isn't saying much. If you have time to wait or can eat at an off hour, this is definitely the best place to go around Furnace Creek.

This review is inflated considering that the establishment is inside Death Valley national park. All in all, the place is clean, the air conditioning is great, and the greenery around is a fresh contrast to the many warm colors of the desert. Atmosphere and service considered, this place is a welcome rest point to escape the afternoon heat on a day in Death Valley. Food-wise, these prices are not too bad for food inside Death Valley. Nothing here seems particularly overpriced for what you get, and the amount of kettle chips given with relevant menu items is abundant. Taste-wise, things were pretty average across the board, but at least this time the prices were a little better. Be warned, we ordered the pound of chicken wings and at least didn't feel like we were given a pound of chicken.

Came here after our round of golf (Doesn't open until noon). The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Service was great and the food was delivered very promptly. The inside was very clean and had a western saloon style. Will definitely be back.

Nice service. Decent bar type food. The best of the three restaurants I tried on this property. By contrast, the other two restaurants at The Ranch at Death Valley were embarrassingly bad in terms of customer service and food.

Hubby and I went for lunch at 12:15 (it opens for lunch at 12). There were several tables available, and it wasn't very crowded. However, there was one large party of approximately four adults and five children at one long table: they had a large chessboard two were using, an operation battleship game going on, and an Uno/Jenga game. We waited for a while with no acknowledgment by the staff, so my hubby went up to the bar to order a drink. He was told to go back to his seat and a waiter would come. After a while, a server did come and dropped off some menus and water. Another period of time went by, and the server came back and told us that we would have to wait at least an hour for food. I asked if we could order a drink at the bar and he said we could go up there but he probably wouldn't have time to make anything for us and we might as well leave! We did, and went up the road to Stovepipe Wells Village where we had an incredible lunch and drinks at the Badwater Saloon - a much nicer place with a better menu, better service! An added benefit was a bartender/server who looked like Matt Damon! Avoid Wild Rose Tavern and take the time to go to Badwater Saloon; it is very much worth the time and effort. (It opens at 11:30.)
