"After three years closed during the Covid pandemic, Wild Salsa re-opened Downtown to serve its Mexico City-inspired fare. It is still the best bet for Tex-Mex around these parts. Order dishes like the barbecue torta, street tacos with a variety of proteins, and sizzling skillets of fajitas. The indoor dining space tapes into Mexican hacienda vibes with heavy wood furniture and moody lighting. There is an upstairs patio that’s more relaxed and allows for some great people watching. During the day, it’s not tough to find free street parking nearby, but in the evenings, things get more challenging — go with a nearby paid lot." - Courtney E. Smith

Even though I got this to go . The place was amazing inside. I walked up to the bar and asked my to go food. The bartender stoped what he was doing ran into the back and brought it out in 1 min. It was like a flash he was super nice and the place was happening. 17 bucks for all the food I got . Pretty darn good deal and it was awesome. loaded I mean loaded with shrimp

So good. Taco Tuesday deal $3 tacos and $5 margaritas. I ate way too much. The green salsa they give with your chips is probably the best salsa I’ve ever had. The queso was very good. Also enjoyed the street corn, and the tres leches cake was excellent. I’ll come back here

Amazing food and service with a great price. Went here for a quick dinner date before we headed to the majestic theater. Seated right away at 6pm and got our food and drinks within 15 minutes. Drinks were amazing. Try the Bandito. One of the best tequila mixed drinks I have ever had. We also got the Mahi Mahi tacos which were surprisingly fresh and the quesadilla. Every meal we had was under $20. Would highly recommend.

The best experience I had in my short visit to Dallas. Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by a friendly bartender. He asked me some questions and then recommended the fresa caliente margarita, which was amazing. I ordered the wild tacos (carne asada, chicken tinga, and mahi mahi) all delicious. I should also mention the cilantro rice was very good as well as the refried beans and chips. Beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere and delicious food. Also the margarita pitchers were the way to go. The Tamals, the Fajitas and the Tacos were AMAZING. Loved the restaurant itself and the service was great. Please give it a go!

Wild Salsa in Downtown Dallas is a vibrant spot that offers a lively atmosphere accompanied by bold and appetizing Mexican flavors. Upon entering, you are immediately greeted with a welcoming ambiance and warm hospitality, which sets the tone for the dining experience ahead. However, while the service is generally good, there were moments where it felt slightly excessive and rushed, making it a bit challenging to savor the moment without feeling hurried. One of the highlights of the menu is their coconut horchata, which stands out for its exceptional sweetness and precise quality taste. This drink is a delightful and refreshing concoction, infused with just the right amount of coconut flavor, perfectly balanced to bring out its natural sweetness without overwhelming the palate. It’s an ideal accompaniment to the meal, providing a soothing contrast to the more robust flavors on offer. On the other hand, where Wild Salsa shines with some menu items, there are others that leave room for improvement. The mahi mahi tacos, for instance, were somewhat disappointing. While the presentation was visually appealing, the fish itself was served a bit too raw for comfort. This undercooked nature detracted from what could have been a delightful taco experience. Additionally, the corn tortillas enveloping the fish were unfortunately too soggy, which compromised the overall texture and enjoyment of the dish. This lack of structural integrity in the tortillas made it challenging to appreciate the flavors and textures as intended. Despite these critiques, Wild Salsa proves to be a restaurant with potential, largely owing to its atmosphere and exemplary efforts in hospitality. It's a place that can offer delightful culinary experiences with some enhancements to certain dishes. With a focus on refining the preparation of their tacos and perhaps allowing guests to linger a bit more before rushing through the courses, Wild Salsa could truly maximize its dining experience and harmony.

Google
I've been a few times now. I've tried the barbacoa, tinga, vegetable, mahi, shrimp, pastor AND asada. Barbacoa was most flavorful. Shrimp is next best. Very tender. Pastor dry. Grilled mahi tasted more like chicken than fresh fish. Veggie taco flavorful, try with flour tortilla. Tinga and asada good. Frozen margs are to die for. Blood orange, watermelon, strawberry, and mango mix in options. Borracho beans and churro so/so though the portions are great. I've been here 3x this month bc of the happy hour/Taco Tuesday specials. Always satisfied. The music, decor and ambience is excellent. Street parking easy during the day/happy hour. Great and quick service. Definitely a go to in downtown Dallas.

Absolutely love this restaurant! It was my family’s and I first time coming here. We were immediately sat down and got drinks right away. Our waitress helped us with our menu choices and everything we got was so delicious! The atmosphere is very calming and beautiful. The waitress was very engaging with everyone on our table as well as making my son who is nonverbal autistic feel comfortable with his food choices and including him in conversation when ever she stopped by. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I'd give a 4.5 if i could :) Amazing was Guac, barbacoa taco and Horchata. I'd get these again in a heartbeat- the sesame in the guac, unique but such a great touch, barbacoa- was insanely great. We were out for mocktails and i can't imagine a better one. Service was quick and great! Mediocre was the steak fajitas, shrimp and chicken taco. I got the pick 3 tacos and just wish they had all been barbacoa My husband loved the chips and green salsa, along with his mango mocktail. Fabulous for a date night!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by Wild Salsa around 8pm on a Wednesday night for dinner. We didn't make reservations, but we were seated right away as the place wasn't too busy. We sat in a comfy booth in the main dining area. Wild Salsa had an upscale ambiance to it, but I found the place to be pretty chill and laid back. Service was great. Our food came out fast, and our server was friendly and attentive. He also went above and beyond to hype up their food, but I thought everything was OK at best. We ordered the ceviche to share. It was not what I expected but in a good way. I was expecting the shrimp to be chopped up, but Wild Salsa kept the shrimp in half-sized pieces. It wasn't much food though, and we only got up to 6 servings from it. Honestly there wasn't much that impressed me on the menu, so I got a chicken quesadilla to be safe. I liked the shredded chicken tinga, but it was a considerably basic quesadilla. The way our server described the hot sauces made me think we were going to be burning our asses off, but they were not spicy to me at all. He also sold us on the coconut tres leches cake, but I thought the cake was dry despite being soaked in one of the 3 milks.

Yelp
Wild Salsa was fantastic! We came here after a long day and ordered several different plates to share, which included chips and queso, tamales, tacos and street corn. The tamales were incredible. The service we received was tremendous. The interior was dark and cozy. We loved the fireplace for the cold weather!

Lori B.

Yelp
First of all my young server had so much manners, and charm. That was the best cilantro rice I've ever had.

Lakeydra S.

Yelp
I loved the queso, guacamole and the tacos were all amazing. The service was so quick and the waiter was so nice. The music kept the vibe nice, plus the tvs were in a good location to watch the game. Definitely go here!!!!

Yelp
If not for Michael our delightful server, I would absolutely have given a 1 star. Not one to give bad reviews. But from the moment my friend and I walked in, people were very unfriendly at the desk. I understand stress but there didn't seem to be any effort of greeting at all. More like a "what are you doing here" attitude. We were seated and greeted by Michael. Delightful. He got a great tip from me. We received the food, and I don't mean to be awful, but the food was particularly bland. My friend got the chicken quesadilla and I got the carne asada tacos. Not bad tacos. But my friend said her quesadillas were not the greatest. When I went to use the restroom, the ladies bathroom door didn't even shut. So I wasn't able to use the restroom for lack of privacy. My friend picked this place because it was rated best tex mex food. I just left incredibly disappointed with the food and service, except for our lovely server.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Good menu and good food. Taco Tuesday deals are nice. Tequila selection is wide. A little pricey. Had the surf and turf fajitas this past time and I must say that was the best steak fajitas I've had in a long long time. Pleasantly surprised.

Jocy R.

Yelp
Recently took a nice walk in downtown Dallas and stumbled into Wild Salsa. While enjoying the upscale ambiance and amazing service, it just so happened to be Taco Tuesday, where the frozen margaritas were 5$ and tacos were 3$ all day! We tried the barbacoa, shrimp, and Mahi Mahi tacos and they were so good with the homemade Valentina sauce! The perfect Tuesday pick me up! Would definitely go back to try some more of the menu!

Christine H.

Yelp
Our group of 10 enjoyed our meal in a private dining room on a recent Monday night. Our server, Destiny, took great care of us. The food was good as well. Nice spot in the downtown Dallas area for Mexican.

Debby M.

Yelp
Taking a group from a senior community on a lunch outing is a lot of fun but sometimes has challenges. Wild Salsa made it a great experience. Wonderful service. Awesome food and some of the best frozen margaritas. Everyone was raving about it and saying it was a great choice. Shout out to Lesly T and her fellow server. Much appreciate the separate checks too.

Yelp
Good Salsa, but Otherwise Subpar Food Ordered: (Main) Chicken Milanesa - 2/5 - The chicken was stringy and overcooked. Not sure how they achieved the consistency they did with the chicken because it was pasty as well, almost like a raw fish burger. The poblano mashed potatoes had no flavor and did not go with the guajillo salsa at all. (Side) Street Style Corn - 3/4 - Nothing really to write home about. It was a standard elote corn. The salsa verde and chips were good. And the service was also quick and good. The atmosphere was like a cantina which was fun and friendly. Overall, however, I would not recommend this place because the food was not great.

Gazelle L.

Yelp
Can I say flavorful !!!!! We had Leslie as our server ! She was absolutely amazing ! The horchata was amazing. I got the Mole Lamb Shank. It has a bitter taste to it. I don't recommend it if you want to try something new. The steak was really delicious and the street corn is amazing as well. The decor in here is really nice as well. Now listen, they give you complimentary chips and salsa and ice cream after your meal. The green salsa has a kick to it. It's better off with the steak, but ask for the red salsa. It has an amazing smoky flavor !!!! I would definitely come here again if I'm craving Mexican food.

Yelp
We enjoyed a great dinner at Wild Salsa. From the drink and appetizer specials for Happy Hour to the last bite of my barbacoa taco, the food and drink were all excellent. Ashley was our server and we really got lucky there. She greeted us with a smile and her friendliness and professionalism were 100% spot on throughout our meal. I hope we are able to return to Wild Salsa soon and will certainly ask for her to be our server again. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Recommended dishes Cilantro Rice, Shrimp Tacos, Traditional Guacamole, Al Pastor, Wild Salsa, Rice and Beans

Yelp
Here at Wild Salsa on Cinco De Mayo! Live Mariachi band sounded great. The food was excellent (got the breakfast enchiladas, and the soup) Our server Abriana was great and I would come back to this restaurant again.

Anastasiya T.

Yelp
Food is delicious! Great atmosphere, fast service! An absolute must try! Great location as well. Outdoor patio super cute

Casey G.

Yelp
Good food, drinks and service in a nice environment. The chips and salsa were really good and I'd definitely recommend the chicken enchiladas.

Jackee O.

Yelp
I was expecting more with Wild Salsa. The food came out lukewarm and wasn't anything to rave about out. The waitress was sweet and drinks were good! Too dark inside for me.

D M.

Yelp
Thank you, Wild Salsa for bringing the fried shrimp tacos back! We stopped by on Tuesday for lunch and had an outstanding waiter, Mr. GeeGee. He was very friendly and provided EXCELLENT customer service! Most importantly, the food and drinks were great. See you all soon.

Jenny K.

Yelp
Found this place my accident and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and the prices were very affordable. Excellent service with a cool vibe. It's the perfect place to eat following a show at the Majestic!

Anousith K.

Yelp
It's Friday so thought I'd treat myself out for lunch. I heard wild salsa had a filet for their carne asada so it's been on my list to try. Not that old boring skirt steak. The environment screams the weekend so perfect for a Friday to get it started. Sat at the bar and both bar tenders were very attentive. Salsa is still the best hands down!

Shelby P.

Yelp
ASHLEY was amazing very attentive and kind and really anticipated our needs and truly gave us a great experience everything Ashley suggested was fantastic!

Gina A.

Yelp
Great Happy Hour Excellent Service Friendly Staff Nice Music Best Window Seat Near Fire-pit Good Food!

Steve P.

Yelp
Service pretty good, good vibe and energy at the bar.. Ceaser salad with shrimp was probably the saltiest ever boarder line not eatable, too much salt on other dishes too weird b/c usually everything at restaurants is under seasoned

Danielle K.

Yelp
I'd been waiting for this place to open for no joke years. Saw it finally opened and stopped by after a visit to the farmers market on a Saturday late morning. We sat at the bar, had coffee and both got a quesadilla. The bartender was great and the ambience was great too. Enjoyed the coffee but my husband and I both think this was the best quesadilla we've ever had! I couldn't finish mine it was so filling so we boxed it up to take home, not as good cold/reheated but goddd it was good fresh! The coffee was good too and our bartender wasn't shy about refilling us while we hung out. The host gave us paletas on our way out too. I was disappointed to see how empty it was but it has been sitting closed since at least December 2020 when I moved to town and it's hard to see inside. They might benefit from outdoor speakers to play music (if the city permits idk) but I hope it gets busier because the place seems worth it from my first visit!

Tom G.

Yelp
Good tacos, great service. Reasonable prices at lunch. The chips and salsa were delicious

Daryl M.

Yelp
Thank you Abriana for the wonderful service! We greatly appreciate you working with us on the seating arrangements -- some seats in the restaurant are definitely too noisy. You jumped right on it and found us a great spot by the back. Thanks again! Oh and the food was good too. ;)

Chet Y.

Yelp
Jessica was great. The food was amazing. Loved every minute of it.

Katelyn B.

Yelp
I came with a group of about 14 coworkers and we were all pretty disappointed. They lost my boss's reservation (luckily he had the email confirmation) and once we were seated, it took about 30 minutes to get our drink orders delivered. No waiters checked if anyone wanted a second drink. It took another hour to get our food, which was fine but pretty small portions for the price. It was also super dark in the back room, to the point that we joked about getting our phone flashlights to see our food. Would not recommend.

Amanda V.

Yelp
It's what I picture food in heaven would be like yummmmmm. Ceviche, guacamole, grilled chicken fajitas (amazing) ,street corn Effen delish !! But the POBLANO mashed potatoes hands down my favorite hmmm and maybe the Wild Rita and Sabrina is hilarious !! Simply enjoyed my time and meal here in

Beth G.

Yelp
Brittany's service was outstanding!! We had such a great first visit. The window light is perfect for food pictures!!

I have eaten there often as it is close to my work. Great food, super great drinks! Our server, David a/k/a "Gigi" was FANTATIC! David was very helpful, timely, attentive and just a general all around great waiter! He made my experience at Wild Salsa the best EVER! Will definitely be going back! The restaurant looks great as well! Very eclectic and tastefully decorated! Cheri Paralegal

Yelp
Yasmine was an amazing server, and the whole place was such a relaxed but elevated vibe. The food was absolutely delicious with a very authentic but upscale flair. Highly recommend!

Shad H.

Yelp
Amazing service. Brianna killed it. Nice vibes, good food. Didn't order the right drink but that's not their fault

Amanda L.

Yelp
Come see Emily at the bar! She was super friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent too. Definitely recommend the carne asada taco. And the green salsa is delicious with just the right amount of spice.

Angella D.

Yelp
We come to Dallas from uptown for the stocking stroll and stopped in here to get warm and eat. David, our waiter, was AMAZING!! ExplaIned all the dishes, everything about happy hour, history of the area and was delightful! The food wasn't your typical Mexican place... presentation was beautiful, I could drink the queso and the margaritas are fresh & homemade (not the gross mix). Highly recommend. We will be back in David's section again.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Had the Al pastor tacos and chicken tinga. My son had the carne asada. All were very good. Thank you to our waiter Sergio who walked us through the menu and promptly checked in on us through the course of the meal. Also recommend getting the Smoked Oaxaca; the presentation was really cool.

Elwood B.

Yelp
Genesis was amazing! We love this place! Food is amazing. Service is amazing. Great vibes!!

Aggie H.

Yelp

Maryam E.

Yelp
I went here for the very first time yesterday with my group of girls &' David was our AMAZING server !! He was so friendly &' throughly explained the menu for us &' answered all questions asked. The food was AMAZING! Definitely beyond my expectations. I would recommend getting their White Queso, Carne asada tacos, their flank steak PERIOD &' their ceviche was the best restaurant ceviche I've had since I've moved to Dallas ! 10/10 recommend.

Valerie Q.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying we had wonderful service! The food did not meet our expectations unfortunately, won't be back but the service once again was amazing!

Karly C.

Yelp
UPDATE: We ordered the fajitas last night which may have been the highest quality fajita meat I've ever eaten at a restaurant - both the steak and chicken! Not at all rubbery or chewy and well seasoned - I would've eaten the meat by itself it was that good. The tortillas were super fresh too. Unfortunately our drinks were so sweet. I ordered the blood orange marg thinking it would be less sweet than a prickly pear but it was so sweet I had to add water and another shot of tequila to try and make it a little more drinkable. I was really impressed with the food and atmosphere here! The restaurant is in my commute so I pass it several times a week and it usually looks quiet or pretty empty. The outside signage screams chain restaurant so I really didn't expect anything spectacular. Off the bat we had great service and the three of us were floored by the free salsa that comes with the chips - probably the best I've ever had. We ordered the prickly pear Marg and avocado Marg. Both are extremely refreshing and not at all overpoweringly sweet. The avocado Marg is on the creamier side, almost reminiscent of a pina colada or tropical drink. For food I ordered the barbacoa taquitos. Not only did they look great, they tasted great too! Crisp shell, flavorful and hot filling and drizzled with more salsa and cream.

Rogelio N.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever received in any food establishment. I literally had to get up from my table and walk to the bar to ask for a water. Multiple items I ordered weren't brought to the table. We were a larger table and management did a poor job of supporting a waitress who was clearly overwhelmed. You could honestly get better service at a McDonald's.

Emily J.

Yelp
AMAZING service provided by Ashley! She was so friendly, welcoming, answered all our questions, and attentive. She's a true asset and rare find. House margarita was delicious!

Alexandria E.

Yelp
Very inviting atmosphere. Food was delicious and portions were large. Our server, David, was exceptional a d such a delight.
