Where to eat and drink in Duluth’s Lincoln Park - Eater Twin Cities

"There is also a surge of cideries opening, including Wild State Cider. Founded by two friends who met as camp counselors, the entire business is dedicated to celebrating the outdoors. The taproom includes a welcome dose of greenery and light airiness even when the weather outside is a bit glum. The crisp, dry ciders are snappy refreshments." - Joy Summers

We stumbled into this place by accident and, boy, were we lucky! We tried all the ciders on tap, and they are all great. The staff are super nice, and the vibe is a VIBE.

Google
We had the greatest experience with June and Ava at the bar! We had just come from another cider location after having a challenging experience with uninterested bar tenders! We were in for a treat with a June and Ava! June had an amazing sense of humor who “knew how to play with customers” and offered exceptional customer service!!! We were convinced the smoothies were the greatest! Then I had fun! I ordered a “Trail Mid Smoothie” and she looked at the menu board and responded with a playful comment!! She is the epitome of “take this job and Love it!” Ava was an incredible bar tenders too. When June was helping others, Ava jumped in! We hope to see them at All Pints North next month! Keep up the great work! We will be back!

Google
Salted maple ice cream was amazing! It might be the best ice cream I've ever had, definitely the top 5. It has a subtle taste of real maple syrup. I'm not much of a drinker, so that's all I had. Others in my group said the cider was great.

Google
Fantastic cider taproom in Duluth! It was our first time in so we tried a flight to give a few different ciders a try, and we loved them all! It’s also an incredibly beautiful building with branding to match and tons of different seating indoor and out! They also have their own soft serve that looked really good but we ended up not trying any. Next time we will though! Will be back for sure!

Google
I went twice over the weekend for a puzzle event. They had a good selection of NA drinks, which is nice as someone who due to medications, can’t drink alcohol. I enjoy still feeling like the relaxing atmosphere is available to me as well! I had the pretzel board and on ordering the staff quickly let me know they were out of a dip, just to make sure I was still okay with the choice. I’m glad I still got it because the apple butter dip was so worth it!! I found myself choosing that one over the ground mustard, which is usually my easy go to. I will gladly return!

Google
Cider bar in a downtown scene with a large patio and plenty of free, nearby parking. They offer a wide variety of unique flavors and what seems to be a revolving flavor of slushie. The staff is friendly and personable and worth a 5 star review themselves! What separates this space is the community aspect. I stopped in during a "Plant Swap" complete with vendors and plant enthusiasts! It's such a great space, and I'll definitely be back while I'm in town. Special shout out to the Pineapple slushie!

Google
Just wow! We passed through this place on the way to Ursa Major Brewing and it seemed like there was a trivia going on. We came right after the trivia ended and found ourselves delighted by the cider options. We tried 2 different flights and most of the ciders on the menu including the bourbon and each was very unique and delicious. We also ordered a pretzel which came with our new found favorite dip Top the Tater! Date of visit: December 29 2022

Yelp
A must-visit cidery if you're visiting Duluth! We made an impromptu trip to Duluth and saw Wild State Cider on our drive into town. This was a great find after a short hike. There was outdoor seating that was dog-friendly. I loved the ciders as they weren't too sweet and had a good variety. My favorite ended up being the cider slushy! We got caught in a random thunderstorm and the staff didn't mind at all that we brought our two dogs inside the bright, upbeat ski resort-styled taproom while we waited out the storm. There were multiple snacks available that were low-key great bar food and even a couple of gluten-free options. We had a great time at Wild State Cider!

Yelp
This place is so clean and looks brand new. There is lots of seating inside and out. The staff was friendly and helpful. We tried a flight to see what we would like. The blackberry mint was a really pleasant surprise. We also like the hazy pink pineapple. The to go business is constant and they keep the shelves stocked. As we sat enjoying our drinks we saw quite a few people choosing things to take out. I love their logo and they had a good variety of items to choose from.

Yelp
Food - Pretzel was 5/5 Service - 5/5 staff was super nice and helpful at taps Ambiance - 8/5 it's really spacious and well air-conditioned. You have space to enjoy your time. Great music too

Yelp
We had the Hazy Pink Pineapple from Wild State Cider. Not a bad cider at all, it was solid and decent. The haziness comes from it being unfiltered which is an interesting approach for a cider. The cider was sweet because it involved pineapple and I lean towards dryer ciders but I liked it well enough. There is enough tartness to it and it's a light bodied cider so it doesn't feel like the cider is too heavy handed with the sugar.
google avatar

Sydney R.

Yelp
Wild State has a wide range of ciders that anyone would love! My go to cider place when in the Duluth area! My go to is the Hazy Pink Pineapple which is a sweeter cider, but they also have drier and more tart ciders as well! :)

Yelp
BINGO and DRINKS?!?!?!/ Yes please!!! I love this place! We had such a fun time and everyone (including the guests) were very friendly. We came here for bingo night and everyone was having so much fun and it showed. I cant wait until the next time i am in town to come back
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
I went today for their cider and cheese flight event. So much fun! Everything was delicious and I love that none of their ciders were super sweet. No added sugars makes a big difference. I will be back. Please have more cider and cheese events!

Yelp
We stopped here while passing through Duluth on a road trip. They have a cute outdoor patio area and inside the space is spacious with 200 living plants on the walls - so cool. They have a huge selection of flagship and rotating ciders and we of course got the $14 flight for 5 choices. I got raspberry hibiscus, hazy pink pineapple, berry jam, peach basil, and strawberry flower power! So pretty and delicious. We also got a creemee soft serve with black raspberry and salted maple syrup twist! So delicious!! The employees were also so nice. Wish this place was closer to home but glad we stopped by!

Yelp
There are only a few places that I'll seek out for cider, as it's not one of my top alcoholic drinks, and one of those spots is Wild State! Located on the Superior Street strip, you shouldn't skip this one! Parking is on the street, but this spot is far enough down, that you can usually get pretty close! The interior is delightful: open, modern, and fun! I mean, where else can you sit on a ski lift turned into a cidery seat! Elite tip: they have an upstairs loft that is a great little hideaway! The cider itself is awesome! They have plenty of staples, seasonal choices, and collaborations with local breweries. On our most recent Fall trip, we sipped on the Pumpkin Pie cider, which was everything my little basic heart desired. In a city filled with craft breweries, take a break and get your serving of fruit with a cider from Wild State!

Yelp
There's nothing not to love about Wild State! It's a cute and super inviting spot- one of my favorite parts is the upstairs and the patio area. I love the variety of ciders they are always offering and I have truly never had a bad cider from here. You also CANNOT go wrong with a flight of 5 ciders for $13! I personally haven't had any of their ice cream (cremees I think it's called) but my SIL always grabs one and just adores them! I appreciated the patience of the staff today as we chose our flights and they also helped me with questions relating to distribution back home at the restaurant I work at. This is always a must stop everytime we visit my SIL!!

Yelp
Great selection, inside and outside seating. Friendly staff, flights available. Cans to go.

Yelp
My friend and I are not big cider fans but this was next to another brewery (that was busy) and we wanted to be inside because it was cold. The bartender was super friendly and answered all of our questions about the cider. We split a flight and all of them were good. Some I liked better than others but all of them I would drink again (and like I said, I'm not a cider person). They also have a cool logo and the vibe is super fun. If I lived in Duluth I would definitely come often!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! It's a must-stop whenever I'm in Duluth and have some time to swing by as I love their ciders and ice cream, which is a unique combo that most breweries/cideries don't have! It has a fun ski-lodge type atmosphere with a dog-friendly outdoor patio as well. They have an upstairs area, board games, cool plants, cute merch, and even a ski lift that you can sit on indoors :) I had the blueberry mint cider and it was quite yummy, as well as an interesting combo of mint and salted maple ice cream that paired very well surprisingly! The ice cream was probably my favorite. Wild State also has flights available at a very good price!

Yelp
OK this place is adorable!!!! We saw it while driving up to camp and decided quickly to stop by on the way down to get a celebratory cider after hiking. We were pleasantly surprised to see they also sell soft serve, so we of courseeee had to get some. I got the twist soft serve (black raspberry and salted maple) and it was AMAZING!!! Exactly what we needed on a hot north shore day. I also got a cider (the raspberry hibiscus) and that was delicious!!! The inside is adorable, and they have great outside seating. They also have lovely merch. I loved this place, definitely a top cidery for me!!!

Yelp
GAAAH! This place is so freaking cute! Might be my new fave spot of Duluth. It's walking distance from Ursa Minor brewing co as well as Warrior Brewing. They have a live wall of plants that's so cute and the natural lighting is just so good. Cheers!

Yelp
I worked at a brewery for 2 years, have tried a lot of beers/ciders. Takes a lot to make me happy. The flight was 5 ciders for $12. They had a great selection for that price. These ciders were refreshing. They tasted clean. Nothing was too heavy. They had a sign stating what items they don't include. Which was nice to know. The cool display of merch to the left of the stand was great. The taproom, on this particular day was opened up via a large garage door which was a lot of light and fresh air. A nice view. There were some good picture areas for us tourists. Lol. This place a is perfect stop if you're in town.

Yelp
Loved this little gem of a find! Great Cider options with a variety of flavor for multiple palettes. Incredible atmosphere and great staff! Make this a place to visit if you're in the Duluth area.

Dana K.

Yelp
This place is so fantastic! The flight is definitely the way to go. Super cute place inside, staff are very friendly and the merch inside is also great! Love the sticker!

Yelp
We were on a weekend trip to the North Shore and have also been working our way through the MN Hop Passport full of great breweries/cideries in the state. So, we decided to stop by all of the Duluth locations and this one was definitely our favorite! Wild State provides the classic ciders, as well as more unique flavors, like the hazy pink pineapple (SO GOOD!). Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! They seem to change their ciders often, so we will definitely be back to try new ones!
google avatar

Shelby H.

Yelp
The spot is one of the best breweries in Duluth. It serves a variety of different ciders and also sells ice cream. I decided to get a flight, and I tried a cranberry cider, a pink pineapple hazy cider, and a couple other fruity ciders. The pink pineapple hazy cider is one of the best siders/beers I have had in a while. The inside of this establishment is very spacious, they have a lot of outdoor seating, and it's really aesthetically cute on the inside. The spot features many great areas for a photo op and a great place for friends and family together.

Yelp
Wild State is a fun afternoon spot in West Duluth! They had 7 ciders available when I stopped by over Labor Day weekend, and I was able to sample 5 of them by ordering a flight for $11. My favorite on the flight was by far the Ginger Peach, but all of them were enjoyable. They also have hard and soft pretzels available as a snack, and the soft pretzel comes with an incredible apple butter dip!! The space is very trendy and open concept which I loved! There are lots of picnic tables outside on the patio, and a cute loft area indoors with open seating and plants everywhere. The main level where you order also has a little ski lift chair to take photos on, as well as a merchandise area full of cute stuff! It is definitely a great spot to find a souvenir or support a local business by treating yourself to a cute baseball hat or sticker!!

Yelp
Enjoyed a quick stop here while we were waiting to get seated at a local restaurant! We really enjoyed our flight of cider. Nice cider, flavorful, and smooth. Great atmosphere and service!

Yelp
So, we stopped at Fitger's Brewery and did a flight, but interestingly enough the only thing that my hubby and I both enjoyed was the Wild State Cider. Off we went to a trip to Wild State Cider.... Our trip to WSC was very enjoyable. We found a seat quickly inside, looked over the menu and then went up to the counter, ordering a cider flight, a bag of pretzels and a hot pretzel. The flight consisted of pear, pineapple, english traditional, triple berry and one other that I don't recall. The dry pretzels were very good, with the fresh pretzel to die for (served with a mustard and an apple jam). Service was very good, very friendly and helpful. We ended up buying sangria, triple berry, semi-dry, a pack of the tea, a shirt and a glass. Cider was very good, we've already finished a couple of cans! We would have stayed longer, as there was a trivia time starting, but we had a boat trip to catch.

Yelp
Great casual spot for a flight of cider in Duluth! Loved the flavor varieties. Kid friendly, order at the bar. Lots of seating options!

Yelp
What a beautiful bright taproom in an old warehouse that's located in Duluth's Lincoln Park neighborhood. We learned that they uses juices from an offsite location that presses the apples for majority of their ciders. The juice is 100% pressed apples which means no added sugars, preservatives, and no concentrates which I think is pretty awesome! I think you can tell the taste from other ciders that don't do that. My favorites: Alpiner which was a dry cider barrel aged in a Vikre barrel. I wanted to take this one at home first! Duluth Peoples cider which they actually pressed on their own with apples from all their Duluth neighbors. We decided to take a growler of Duluth Peoples Cider home since it's limited to the tap room and they worked so hard to make it! We hope to share with friends! Beet Cider which I am not sure if it had a name but it was earth and tasty if you like beets! I loved this so much! Very neat space and I would definitely return! They have tons of apparel too.

Yelp
My brother came up to visit from the Twin Cities, he works the biggest brewery and cidery in the cities so he was really curious about what was in Duluth. Wild State was our first stop and, I'd say, our best one! The employees were super cool to him, he tried the cider and loved it and we enjoyed the entire experience and time we were there! The employees were just as fantastic as the cider. I loved their pear cider. It was fun to watch the groups out on the ice rink outside. And for dessert I got the salted maple syrup soft serve - it was the best I've ever had in my life! This is an all around wonderful place!

Extrapolating N.

Yelp
The place is pretty and the staff were very friendly! First time here so we tried a custom flight which was a great way to try a bunch of fun flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
The ice cream and cider are an unbeatable combination!! Both are excellently done. Truly the perfect place to stop after a weekend hiking and camping.

Yelp
Great little cidery in Duluth's Lincoln Park neighborhood. They had 6 ciders on tap when we went. I got a flight, which allowed me to choose 5 ciders, so I wish they had a little more variety. I get that it's a small operation, though, so maybe they will have more variety in the future. The ciders were good and the service was great. They greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and explained the ordering/pick up process right away to make the process more efficient, and we were seated immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The snack options were a nice touch, too. My only recommendations to the business would be to get more comfy seating (chairs with cushions or booths/couches) and have water readily available for guests. I know this might not be doable until after covid.
google avatar

Frances W.

Yelp
Love my Wild State Cider! Always kid and adult friendly! Outdoor and indoor seating available.
google avatar

Terryl N.

Yelp
Cider was good. Some was the staff was very helpful/nice. We did have to remind them we had ordered food.
google avatar

Mitch H.

Yelp
New and upcoming cidery. The tap room is large with lots of natural light. Friendly staff and atmosphere. They have multiple ciders on tap with helpful guides to let you know how sweet or dry your choice is. Personally, I enjoy dryer ciders. Their Oak Aged an Hoppy are a couple of their dryer ciders that I really enjoyed. The Pear Cider is sweet but not too sweet. And if you forget to eat something before heading over they do have some snacks Overall great time here, looking forward to watching this company grow and to our next visit!

Becky H.

Yelp
My favorite place to sit outside and drink cider. I always order a flight as it's too hard to narrow down the choices to just one or two.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
Raspberry hibiscus is my favorite! The ginger is super good too :) super nice atmosphere!
google avatar

Dev N.

Yelp
Great local cider, and a great atmosphere. Also a sh!t ton of different flavors! Get yourself a flight and try them all! Or grab yourself some cute lil earrings c: Also love when they host the Duluth houseplant exchanges! Plants, macrame, jewelry, crystals, etc. + curling in the winter !
google avatar

W C.

Yelp
We're doing a review for the Cidery instead of the Creemee [sic] because if we did a review of the latter, it would be three stars, and we feel bad about that because this is a cute little spot. We came here to get our daily post-dinner ice cream because #vacationlife. Google brought us here and we have to say that this is the first time that we've ever had to go into a brewery to get some ice cream. There was only one flavor: salted maple, so we got our daughter a small one and shared a larger one. The ice cream was delicious and creamy, but the whole experience was kind of strange because there were no toppings or anything else and it did not feel like you were in an ice cream shop. We're thinking that if you're going to have a soft serve game in there, then do it justice! While we were there, twist our arms, we got a glass of their dry cider to share. Very good! Not too sweet. The space is cute with its pastels and plants and seems very catered to the Millennial crowd. This must be a new spot because we were the only ones there for the most part, but when we drove off we saw a couple other breweries with bumping' crowds outside. In whichever case, we wish them well and would recommend them doing more with the creemee than having a single flavor and that's it. But 4 stars.
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
Amazing interior and vibes, ballin' kid area, solid ciders. Take Duluth ciders, and drop them in this place! Must-try: - Rose was awesome - Oak-aged Friendly, pleasant staff. The person that designed the place, absolutely nailed it. The pineapple was flavorful, but somehow tasted like a can of dole pineapples haha. Pear was decent. Could improve by stepping out of the box a bit
google avatar

tyler h.

Yelp
Great cider selection. Attentive staff. And don't miss the Camp CreeMee Vermont style soft serve.
google avatar

Britta S.

Yelp
Where are you heading for your next happy hour? Wild state? I thought so. We were impressed with their covid protocols to manage any potential lines, and keep guests a safe distance from staff. You also place a "block" on your table to indicate when it's dirty, which was helpful for us to also know where we could sit! There's plenty of space outdoors, so stop over when the weather is nice. We both got flights and thought the pear cider was the best!
google avatar

Hil H.

Yelp
Wild State Cider's drinks are almost as amazing as their logo. My husband and I visited and decided to do two flights so we could try all of the available ciders. Each was so amazing and unique in their own way! I definitely recommend doing a flight or two. The merch is equally amazing though. I picked up two of their glasses (because I can't imagine a cuter logo), and I've used them a million times at home and gotten tons of compliments. It's a great conversation starter. This location is such a gem!
google avatar

Jacob R.

Yelp
I was visiting Duluth for the day and met friends here- loved it! I had the rose beer and loved it but the rest of my friends had the ginger- I wanted to try them all but was only in town for about an hour. I believe they had food later in the evening and I did see snacks for sale. This part of town was not an area you wanted to be in when I was in college here so I am thrilled to see more business coming in!

Haily M.

Yelp
Ciders we're delicious and the people working were very friendly. We had a flight and our favorite was the hot mulled cider, especially wonderful on a chilly day in Duluth!
google avatar

Amber N.

Yelp
Ive recently moved from the PNW and have been spoiled by all the wonderful cideries from there. Wild State Cider makes me feel like I'm back in the PNW with their delicious ciders and tasting room space. My love for the wild and ciders hits home at WSC!!! Check this place out you won't be disappointed!!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Cider and ice cream!? I was immediately hooked. Just down the street from Duluth Cider, Wild State is also worth a visit. Their atmosphere is very clean and industrial and they had a wonderful outdoor area over Covid. Staff was very nice. They had clear dividers for lines to the bar for social distancing and a restroom available. The ice cream was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the slightly more sour of the ciders. The flavor of the day was a maple that when mixed with the vanilla bean in a twist was a perfect mix of subtle sugary goodness. They did serve a large Belgian pretzel that looked very good but we were full from our drinks. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
We're passing through Duluth and stopped at the wonderful Wild State Cider. Sampled a flight and found my favorites were the Pear and Apple Pie! The staff was very friendly and professional. They answered our questions and made suggestions. We're buying some cans to enjoy on our trip back to California. The Hard Tea is also coming along! Definitely worth a stop!!!

Brady T.

Yelp
I grabbed the seasonal Apple Pie cider. It was one of the best ciders I have had. Great balance between sweet and tart.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
Best cider in Duluth, possibly in Minnesota. Everything is perfectly balanced, apple flavor is always pronounced! Fruity/flavored ciders are additive rather than overpowering. Taproom is cute, clean and simple, and the patio is a gem!
google avatar

Lilah M.

Yelp
This is my favorite brewery in Duluth. I've tried almost all their ciders, and have never not liked one of them. The vibe is always great here, and I love their bingo nights, or open bonfires. Their pear cider is always a safe bet, but if you want to be bold, try the Blueberry Maple. It's delicious!

Kim F.

Yelp
So fun to go curling there! It was freezing cold outside but they had a fire going outside. Really nice staff!
