Chicago’s Best Breakfast Spots

"Located right near Millennium Park, Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe is regularly packed with a mix of tourists and local workers tucking into rich plates of banana coconut cream pie pancakes, cookie dough waffles and chocolate banana bread french toast accompanied by fresh-squeezed orange juice and Intelligentsia coffee. Service is friendly and fast, though WiFi is available for anyone who needs to catch up on emails while they eat. Wildberry also has a location along the Magnificent Mile and suburban outposts in Libertyville and Schaumburg. Order online through Toast." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff

I had a wonderful experience here! I got here midday on a Monday and my party was seated immediately. After ordering, our food came out in less than 10 minutes. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes and the Mexican skillet. The pancakes were divine and definitely tasted like a cinnamon roll. For some, it may be a bit too sweet but it was perfect for me. The skillet was good but I do prefer my hash browns a bit crunchier and I would suggest asking them to go lighter on the cheese & onions. Other than that, the service was amazing as everyone was super kind and welcoming, and our server came to check on us multiple times despite how full the restaurant was. I would definitely recommend coming here.

I didn’t realize Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe was a franchise — this location was packed! Even with a reservation, we ended up waiting another 20–30 minutes for a table. Once seated, the portions were generous and the food was great, definitely worth the hype for a solid breakfast. Our server was okay — not the most attentive, but we got everything we needed. The space has a cozy, lively atmosphere with lots of chatter, which adds to the classic breakfast spot feel.

This place is small and seating can be a bit tight. The coffee is good and food comes out in timely matter. Servings are good too. The breakfast in the pan is filling but understand a layer of cheese keeps you from mixing your eggs with the other ingredients. Chief “Layer the food then add the cheese” good spot if you want something different from hotel food

Took me forever to make this review but here I am now! We came here in June after having it on our list for weeks and were met with a fairly long wait time but that's to be expected on a weekend morning. We were able to grab some mushroom-coffee lattes while we waited and the staff were quick and friendly. Once seated, our server was knowledgeable and made some great recommendations for us. The food was on the pricey side, but for the flavor, portion sizes and views I would say its worth it. The eggs florentine were delicious and filling, not too much of any herb or flavor to overpower the other. The pancakes were a kid's dream! The fresh fruit paired well with the drizzle over them and it was the perfect blend of both tart, creamy and sweet. The wild mushroom omelet was enjoyable though my girlfriend liked it much more that myself. Overall, the price matched the quality and quantity of our meal and drinks, packed lots of flavor for breakfast food and the staff were wonderful!

We were able to get in for breakfast on a busy Fathers Day yesterday and by a miracle there was no wait as we came in by 8am. The food was so good and flavorful! We really enjoyed both our dishes. The eggs Benedict Los Altos were delicious as was the Mexicana skillet. I would definitely come back again.

We are visiting from out of state, and decided to come here for our last morning of vacation. I really wish we had tried it the first day, so we could have come back again. The portions were extremely generous and the flavor was fantastic! We got the kid's and regualr size Oreo S'mores pancakes, the kid's cookie dough waffle, and the loaded baked potato omelet. Everything was delicious! We will be back to visit Chicago again, and will definitely be back here. Also, shout out to Michael and his wonderful service as well!

Loved this place! First time visitor and I will definitely be back whenever I'm visiting Chicago. The food was excellent and our server Alejandro was so sweet and helpful. The blueberry danish pancakes and the chicken and biscuits entree were especially delicious. Truly a great brunch experience!

The Florence Benedict is VERY good. Possibly for the first time in my life, I didn't think an egg dish needed salt and pepper at the table. (I put some Cholula on it, but that's a different category. It would've been fine without, too!) Also: anyone who doesn't cook hashbrowns like this, where they're crunchy, has no business cooking hashbrowns. Wildberry did them right. (In real life they weren't out of focus, I promise, ha.)
