Modern Mexican Restaurant Verlaine Closes in West Hollywood After One Year | Eater LA

"Hidden behind Verlaine, the quiet cocktail lounge Wild Beast — which opened in July 2017 — was so tucked away that few people actually knew about it." - Matthew Kang

This ride is pretty fun, but the only reason I came on this ride is because mine buster was closed, it's just a ripoff version of mine buster. But this ride can be good for people who are not feeling confident enough to go on minebuster, they can try this ride first to get a feel for bumpy wooden structures.

this ride is fine. its fast and would be one of the best rides if it wasnt so rough. my legs were already hurting from all my walking and this did NOT make it any better. still a fun ride but the roughness brings it down a TON. i didnt wait long tho. out of all the coasters id say its in the top 10

Is this ride even still safe to exist in 2025? Lmao so janky and rickety. My neck is sore the day after and I’m seeing this is a trend as pointed out by previous reviews. Absolutely can injure your neck at the level your head is swung from side to side. Seats are SO tight for the average person as well. I know this was a classic for Wonderland but it’s definitely time to build something new over it. This is just not a safe ride.

This ride continues to hold a special spot in my heart. I love this ride and I especially love the crew. They wave as you come back in the station. They are fun, bubbly and very fast and efficient at running the coaster. The only downside is how rough it is. I love that about it but some people can't handle it.

Wild Beast is definitely a piece of Canada’s Wonderland history — one of the original five rollercoasters that opened with the park back in 1981 — and riding it, you can absolutely feel its age. I’m sure when it first opened, this wooden coaster was an exciting and groundbreaking ride, but by today’s standards, it feels very rough and shaky. Every turn and drop rattles you around quite a bit, and it’s far from the smooth, modern coaster experience that newer rides in the park offer. That said, it’s still fun to ride for the nostalgia and for the classic wooden coaster experience, especially if you want to get a sense of Wonderland’s early days. Just be prepared for a bumpy, old-school ride that might leave you feeling a little jostled. Overall, Wild Beast is a neat piece of park history, but it definitely shows its age. Worth doing once for the nostalgia — but probably not a ride you’ll want to do repeatedly in a single day.

The worst ride I've ever been on and if I knew it was going to be this bad, I would not have gone on it. The rides are small and tight, and feel like it should only be for kids. I know it's a wooden coaster, and it's impressive it has withstood so long, but there are many, many restrictions such as tucking in your arms, feet, lean your head back, no standing. The "no standing" part goes without saying, but one part of the ride, the "ceiling" felt quite low for tall people). And the worst part is that it's SO rickety and shaky. The reason they tell you to lean your head back is because the shaking literally affects your head if you are leaning forward, but they told you to hold on to the bars at the front. It's just hard to do that! The drops are quite fast and still exciting, but it just felt painful throughout the ride and some of us felt they had a concussion after. Don't recommend for adults unless you like to be shaken continuously and get neck pain. Would not do this again lol

This ride is alright I mean it’s not the worst but honestly mine buster is just better. I still like this ride but it is very rough which is fine just watch out lol. Would recommend.

Spare your time and don't go on this. This was the most jerky, painful, rough ride I've ever been on. I wanted to ride it just for the experience, but I regretted every second of it. I've never hated a ride as much as this before and was just waiting until I could get off of it.
