Best Mother’s Day Celebrations in San Francisco in 2021 | Eater SF

"Also near the Rockridge location, I’d recommend Wild Flower and Fern for picking up the perfect bouquet to pair with your Mother’s Day meal." - Becky Duffett

Google
We hired Wildflower & Fern for our wedding flowers. The arrangements and flowers chosen felt wild and organic yet so artfully composed. Every bouquet, centerpiece, and little floral detail was infused with such thoughtfulness. Despite our general lack of flower knowledge, they were able to give us ideas about different styles so we could work together to bring our vision to life. Our goal was wildflower vibes with many different colors and the outcome was simply perfect. We loved working with them!

Google
Wildflower & Fern did a phenomenal job preparing our wedding day florals. We only wanted to order a few specific items (bridal bouquet, boutonniere, dog floral collar, and flower girl crown), and they treated our small order with a high level of attention to detail. Their staff member Laura was extremely responsive every time I had an update to note on our request. They perfectly matched our sunset color palette with whimsical flowers that were sourced locally and included my requested dahlias. I also found their pricing to be extremely fair and excellent value. I would absolutely recommend this business.

Google
Incredible bouquets. I’ll always order flowers here from now on. They’re creative, talented, and understand the vibe you’re going for.

Google
They did me dirty! I have ordered a bouquet before from them and had it delivered which came out beautiful. Placed an order for a wedding bouquet with detailed design, and I received a grab and go priced at $137, which was a discount from the $175 originally quoted. This is a wedding bouquet. Don’t just trust them, for sure be hands on, I am out of state so I trusted. The first photo is what they sent me, which was still basic, the other photos is the reality. Long stems for a wedding bouquet, looks like a farmers market $10 grab and go. Robbed of a precious moment.

Google
Nice flowers but overpriced for the type of flowers they are providing. Two mini bouquets were $60. I was in a rush to a family dinner so I did not have a choice to find another option but I probably would find another local florist with more variety and fuller bouquets.

Google
Not the cheapest but the arrangements are beautiful, and they try to source their flowers from areas nearer than further away.

Google
Gorgeous flowers and kind people. Such a unique selection, and they’ll really build what you want with you. Some seasonal classics and always a surprise!

Google
I love Wildflower & Fern’s flower selection and their motto of being a sustainable & slow florist. They source a majority of their products locally! And their shop is insanely cute to boot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
They let you touch the flowers and arrange your own bouquet here! It's exciting to DIY and helpful to see the juxtaposition of flowers in real time. The flowers here are special, vivid, and lovely. The colors are dynamic and it's clear that they're local. I made a small bouquet and absolutely love it. Days later it's still going strong.

Yelp
I love their selections of flowers so much. Very unique and so beautiful. I don't mind paying extra dollars for them but they were RUDE!! I was looking and choosing flowers. I needed a help and I pointed out a flower and she said "don't touch!" I am Not touching your damn flowers, madame. It was such a turn off. I still purchased a bouquet but my joy is cut in half because of her attitude. Other reviews about her attitude are true. I'd love to come back for these beautiful flowers, but I do not want to support her business. UPDATE: And look. My sweet husband got me birthday flowers today and they used flower that is already dead. How disappointing. Ethically so wrong.

Yelp
I love this little flower shop. They had a small but beautiful selection of flowers. They even had yarrow. I got a bouquet for my date and I really loved what we came up with. The bouquet was sweet, romantic and a bit wild which is my aesthetic. Service was good, my florist let me lead but made some great suggestions. It's a bit pricey, but it's to be expected given the neighborhood.

Yelp
I requested something special for my brother's recital and got the most gorgeous presentation bouquet for a really reasonable price considering its size and variety. I wanted something high quality and unique and was more than pleased!

Yelp
My partner got me these flowers on Sunday July 14. They were very pretty and unique; however, it is now Thursday and they are completely dead. They already started looking bad on Tuesday July 16. Price was 50 bucks.

Yelp
It's a shame for me to write this review as I've been coming to this spot to buy flowers for over 15 years (back when it was The Flower and The Bee, which was great). I've stopped buying flowers here (when it was F&B I would buy flowers regularly, usually at least once a month) because the owner is so incredibly rude. This is the second time recently that I have gone there where she acted like she was doing me a favor by getting up off her chair to tell me the prices of flowers (if you don't want to do your job and tell people at least put prices on the buckets?) and make a bouquet. She is cheap with the flowers, the quality is not what it was and the prices are sky high. I don't want to drop $75 on a skimpy bouquet from someone that's rude. If you're going to go here, try to ask anyone else besides her to help you and be prepared to drop a bundle of cash for regular flower selection and that you might have to deal with an incredibly rude woman. Flowers are special. It should be a nice part of your day when you go buy a bouquet, not put you in a bad mood and make you feel like you should have spent your money elsewhere. I don't write a lot of reviews but am tired and saddened at seeing a place I held dear become so dull.

Yelp
This shop has a very unique and beautiful style & the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly!

Yelp
Flower Power! I bought 2 beautiful bouquets: one for a belated Mother's Day gift and the other for a college grad. They were each wrapped with tissue and brown paper, tied tightly with twine. With each bouquet was a fern, true to its store name. I was definitely impressed by the presentation. One had tulips and the other looked like some wildflower I've never seen before. And the service was quick considering I was already late meeting up with my family. Although a bit pricey at $25 each, I was happy to support a small business. Both of my family members were very happy with their bouquets (:

Yelp
This review is for Wildflower & Fern's wedding floral services. Working with Laura & Sage was an excellent process from start to finish. They were clear in their communication and expectations, and they delivered great value and quality florals for my ceremony and reception. The prices were very reasonable. Working with them was actually fun! They worked with me through some unusual and complicated logistics for the bouquet, and they were stoked to tackle the challenge. I was thrilled with the result. Hire them for your wedding!

Yelp
Been here 3-4 times for bouquets on a whim. Every time their flowers have been amazing. They last a long time and the arrangements are always beautiful. Plus the prices are extremely fair. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and they're Suomi friendly/helpful. My favorite place to go for a local florist.

Yelp
Nice selection, helpful service. A cute shop with plenty to select from and customize. I loved the arrangement they helped me create!

Yelp
Astronmical prices for small, pretty but seriously unexceptional bouquets. Expect to pay literally $40-$50 bucks per bouquet with the higher price including a small glass vase. I was shocked by the prices. This place was never cheap but now it's out of control. You can pick up similar flowers and bouquets for $15 bucks at Whole Foods.

Yelp
I stopped by twice this weekend to pick up flowers for Mother's Day and had a very lukewarm experience. To start, it was clear that Wild Flower and Fern were not staffed to handle the Mother's Day rush. The line moved incredibly slowly, and I definitely saw numerous individuals who gave up on waiting in line. Since it was Mother's Day, only pre-made bundles were being sold unless you ordered a day in advance. I was not super happy about this, because when I lived in San Francisco, nearly all flower shops had the option and flexibility to allow their customers to assemble a bundle. Overall, the shop being as small as it was didn't allow for a huge variety of flowers being available.

Hanin S.

Yelp
I went on a Sunday the staff were great but the quality of flowers were terrible. Most flowers looked dead and they barely had any roses. Idk if they were short because of the day I went but I had higher expectations. I bought a small bouquet anyways but definitely too expensive for the quality

Yelp
The most unique local flowers in the Bay Area. This shop owner supports small farmers and florists and provides flowers that were not sprayed by harmful chemicals. A purchase you can feel truly good about.

Yelp
I was at this flower shop in the morning. A young woman Abby helped me. She was polite and extremely helpful. She answered all my questions before I chose several items which she carefully and cheerfully wrapped for me. I love everything I got, thanks to Abby's help. I would go back to her and shop again without hesitation. They do have unique things and the wreaths are lovely also. Thank you so much, Abby!

Yelp
This florist is NOT CLOSED, despite what Yelp currently says. I ordered from them today (12/4/20), and spoke to them on the phone today. They do beautiful work, are friendly and professional. Located at the fabulous Rockridge Market Hall, but they deliver all around. My office has an online account with them and we use them repeatedly.

Yelp
They charged me $35 for one flower called it an open bouquet I'm never going back there. Also the selection while unique is very limited and not worth their prices.

Hasti F.

Yelp
Zero customer service. They are incredibly rude. If you don't want customers and don't know how to provide customer service might as well close ur store.

Ann E.

Yelp
Sarah is a doll. A long rambling set of circumstances that meant that I had many issues--she was gracious and helpful throughout. No idea how the flowers looked, but I appreciated the customer service.

Susan S.

Yelp
Staff was friendly and considerate and helped me through the difficult process of choosing flowers for my husband's memorial ceremony. The arrangements were absolutely beautiful, natural and very fresh, and delivered the same day in good time. Perfect. Thank you Wild Flower and Fern for contributing beauty and elegance to our event.

Yelp
I had a great experience here buying flowers for my wife's birthday. The owner went above and beyond to help me put together a beautiful bouquet within my budget. The flower selection is gorgeous, and mostly sourced from local organic farms. I highly recommend!

Bonnie W.

Yelp
I used to love this florist, but not so anymore. Went there for a bouquet for a new mom and was given a huge run around. I was in a hurry and had only 20 minutes, so thought she could just put in a vase with water and go..but no. In the end I was charged for two ready made bouquets and a small vase, $75, hung around for 35 minutes and when I returned for the arrangement, it was still not ready and in the end, nothing special. The sales woman, was rude, whiny and inexperienced. Absolutely terrible customer service. I know Covid is stressing everyone, but really? I will not return to this business, and I have frequented it for many years. Perhaps this is under new management? Finally got my arrangement when the owner announced herself, appearing with the flowers, and recommended that for "custom" work I shop at Wisteria! Apparently putting two ready made bouquets in a vase is custom work to her. Incredible. Next time I'll take her advice and shop elsewhere.
