My husband and I booked a 90-minute couples massage here after purchasing a Groupon and let me just say...you get what you pay for.
Our experience wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good. Just blah.
First of all, they texted my husband telling us that our appointment time had changed from 6:15pm to 6pm without asking! He didn't see the notification until it was too late as we were traveling into the city from Astoria. So that put a bad taste in our mouths to start, however we tried not to let it bother us too much.
The massage itself was just blah. I prefer a deeper pressure than what was provided, especially since my legs have been sore from running lately, so it was actually a bit disappointing. Plus, she did a lot of the massage with a towel in between my skin and her hands... This is not something I've experienced before and it wasn't the most pleasant.
The first 60 minutes of our massage was done on the table in a room. The remaining 30 minutes was strictly a foot massage that was done out in the lobby... I, personally, did not like having people everywhere around us while we were getting our feet massaged. Felt weird.
Additionally, the "30-minute foot massage" only lasted for 20 minutes. Because we were sitting in chairs in the lobby, we had our phones so I know for a fact that they stopped 10 minutes earlier than they were supposed to. This was upsetting but because there were people everywhere, I didn't confront them...although looking back I wish I would have.
Lastly, when leaving we had a cash tip ready and the receptionist asked us how much we were giving them VERY loudly in front of everyone in the lobby... This was just uncomfortable and awkward.
Overall, I was not a fan of the lack of professionalism at this place. I don't think I'll be returning. Not worth it.
